TS4036 When I restored from backup, not all the contacts were restored

How to ensure that all the contacts are restored? It seems that only the iPhone users are restored in my phone.

If you restored for an iTunes backup were the apps in your iTunes library? They have to be for app data and in-app purchases to be restored.

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

    Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    I understand you are having issues with a couple of songs you recently purchased. It may be that these songs did not download fully, or correctly. The best troubleshooting step may be to delete the songs from your library, and re-download using iTunes in the Cloud (if available in your country).

    Occasionally, if a song purchased from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC was not downloaded completely, the song may not play back fully. The song may abruptly stop during playback, and iTunes may start playing the next song in your library or playlist.

    If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
    1. Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
    2. Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
    3. Download your previously purchased song from this list.
    Note: iTunes in the Cloud, which allows you to download previously purchased songs from the iTunes Store, is not available in every country. Learn if iTunes in the Cloud is offered in your country.

    The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like app, music and videos. Thus, you wll have to resync those back to your iPod.
    If necessary you can redownload iTunes purchases by:
      Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

    No, it won't revert to the prior OS X but you you may have third party apps installed that were compatible with Lion that may not be compatible with Mountain Lion.

  • IPhone 4 won't restore from backup - Not Enough Space

    My wife deleted some photos from her iPhone 4 by accident and we are trying to recover them. We hooked her phone up and tried to do a restore from backup but we are getting an error saying there is not enough space on the iphone. How can that be if the backup came from the computer? How do we get the photos back or how do we get iTunes to restore the backup? Please help!

    We called Apple and they told us to take it to the Genius bar and they would be able to help us restore the photos from the backup file that is on my wife's laptop. We haven't had a chance to take it in yet though. I'll try to post our results once we get in there.

    Contacts can come from many sources
         iCloud
         Email accounts
         Social Media
         CardDAV accounts
    If some of your contacts are missing, check to see your signed into all your accounts
        Setting > Mail Contacts & Calendars
    Also check to see you are viewing all the contact groups
    Open Contacts > Upper left Select groups
            Make sure all the groups you want are selected

  • How do I backup/restore all my voicemails?  Not all of them were restored from the iCloud to my new iOS.

    I have a new iPhone 6. I went through the steps of transferring data from my prior iPhone 4s using iCloud, but none of the voicemails from 2012 were restored. Everything else was transferred completely.  Any ideas why, and what I can do to get the remaining voicemails transferred over?  They are still sitting in my old phone.  Thanks!

    Each track should have a download icon. If no icon is shown, this suggest that your library is still pointing to the original track. If you try to play a track do you see " ! " against the track. If so, you have two options:
    1. Select track and right click then delete - do not tick delete from cloud. Download icon now shown.
    2. Create new library, point to location you wish to download then turn on match. You will see all music you have in match.
    By the way, it would be easier and quicker to restore your music from your back up.

    yesterday I've upgraded to iOS8. After three tries it worked.
    But now I'm not able to restore my iPhone5 from Backup. It starts restoring. But the when it's done I've receive the error message without an error nr.
    "itunes could not restore the iphone because an error occurred"
    Thats it
    I've rewetted the iphone, tried on another computer to restore the backup, tried a different internet connection. Nothing. Everywhere the same issue. I've also tried to use a half year old backup just for fun. But the same issue.
    I've disconnected other USB devices. No chance
    Does anybody has a useful idea?

  • Restore from backup not offered

    So I just got a shiny new iPhone 4, replacing my 3GS.
    iTunes will not give me the option to restore from the old phone's backups.
    I'm running the latest version of iTunes. I've tried rebooting my computer, syncing/backing up the old phone multiple times, even restored iOS on the new one a few times.
    In iTunes device preferences, it shows the backup from my old phone! It just won't give me the option to restore from that backup. When I plug the new one in, it doesn't even acknowledge that "this computer has previously been synced with an iPhone... etc."
    What do I do to get my application data onto my new phone?

    Sorry, but you will not be able to use a backup made from a device running iOS 4.3.3 on a device running iOS 4.2.8. That's why you are not offered this option in iTunes. Since iOS 4.2.8 is the most current iOS for the Verizon iPhone, and there won't be any updates until iOS 5.0 is released this fall, your 3GS backup will not be available for your use on your iPhone 4.

    I had the problem of the "OTHER" taking up all the space on my phone and it started the only way to get rid of the "other" was to do a restore... which i did.. before i did that. i had a current back up of my phone to itunes...so i thought "this will be no biggie".. i restore, then use the recent backup and the phone is an exact copy.. EVERYTHING is there (all my emails,texts,photos,background,apps, even last visit website) but the contacts are all gone .. i don't understand why is this so, this was part of the backup. i'm in tears because that is 10 years worth of numbers  gone. my whole life, gone, the one thing i didn't think would disappear is completely gone...
    why is this happening how to fix this

    It says that to download past purchases, they must done under the apple ID that was used to purchase the items. I have an original ID for my iTunes on my computer.  At some point I changed my apple ID on the iTouch since that email account was deleted.  So I was syncing through iTunes under a different ID then was on my iTouch.  Can I do anythng about that so I can check past purchases?
    Since the apps aren't in the backup, how do I transfer the apps on my iTouch to my iTunes?

    If one has 2 devices that are ready for the move to the cloud and they don't share an identical contact list, iTunes collection, or calendar items, which device will dominate with respect to that info?
    Will all contacts from both devices merge into one big list? Is there a way to do it? This is what I'm hoping for because in the move to Lion, my hard drive needed to be wiped and much was lost but which remains on the iPhone. In past synchings of the iPhone to the  Mac Pro, I always seem to lose something in iTunes, Calendars and Contacts. I've checked settings and cannot find a reason that the two devices arrange to do this but if anyone has any ideas, I'd very much appreciate your suggestions.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    Your profile states that you are using OS X 10.6.8, whereas you will require OS X10.7.2 or better in order to use iCloud. You will need to update to lion in order to use iCloud with your Mac.
    To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
    Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud.
    You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
    The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photosstream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
    To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
    In respect of contacts and calendars, when you enable synchronisation from your settings, you will be offered the opportunity to merge your information.

    how could you possibly lose your contacts?  You've been using your phone as designed and synching your contacts with Outlook, Address Book or with a cloud service, right?  Just synch your contacts back from one of those applications!
