TS4062 When manually syncing music from my mac to my iPod touch, when I delete tunes from my manual list and hit apply, these songs remain on my iPod?
When manually syncing music from my Mac to my ipod, if I delete from my list and hit apply, the songs are remaining on my ipod? It just started doing this.
You need to select the songs on the iPod (in iTunes) and hit Delete.
Since you are Manually managing, Apply doesn't do anything to Music on the iPod.

I am new to Apple and can't sync my music from laptop to Ipod touch even tho my laptop recognizes the Ipod. I haven't signed up for Itunes yet as I'm doing one thing at a time and don't see where Itunes is connected to syncing music. Also, if I bought 8 gig, then why do I only have 6 when I haven't added anything yet?
thanks- You need an Apple ID/iTunes account to use the iPod with iTunes.
See the Users Gudie for how to set and use yur iPod, including syncing music.
iPod touch User Guide (For iOS 5.0 Software)
You can also use the iTunes Help n iTunes for more information on syncing.
- The 8 GB only has abou6 6.3 GB avaailable to the users inse the difference is takenup bu the operating system and of how GB is advertized and used. -
I fired it up on switching on the computer, firefox then posted the usual installing updates, firefox will start in a few seconds message, and then the icon promptly vanished from my desktop screen and the program list in the startup menu, though the program files are still listed on the hard drive. I waited awhile, and then rebooted the computer, to find its still vanished.
The unix commands you need are:
GetFileInfo
SetFileInfo
and maybe find
for cryptic details use the man command
Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
man SetFileInfo
You may use the SetFileInfo command to set the file type & the program which will open the file.
# This little gem will do a get info on all files in a directory.
mac $ ls | xargs -I {} GetFileInfo "{}"

Hello
5 days since my ipod does not want to sync music from my mac?
How do I have to do?Just a reminder that before you sync music to your ipod, first go to "music" in ipod menu when connected in iTunes, then check if "sync music" is selected. If not, select accordingly then perform the sync again. Cheers!

How can i sync music from mac air to zen creative mp3 player
how can i sync music from mac air to zen creative mp3 player
iTunes will only sync with Apple devices. You may find when you plug in your player it appears on hte desktop as another drive. You can drag files from iTunes to that drive. You may need to then place them in a special folder but all this is something for you to research since players differ. We use a Sansa Clip and a RCA player with our iTunes library and that how we do it.
Make sure your player can play the format files you have in your collection. Our slightly older players will not play AAC which is the standard format used by the iTunes Store. If you find that to be the case you will have to convert formats. -
When I try syncing music from my library to my ipod, I get the message that it lost connection. My ipod is plugged in to the computer though. Does anyone know how to fix this?
How is your iPod configured to sync music? In other words, what options and configurations do you have enabled from under your iPod's Summary and Music tabs in iTunes?
Maybe have a look at this article as well to verify your iPod is set up for syncing music.

I tried to sync music from iTunes to my iPhone and when I click on "on this phone" the songs are there, but they are greyed out and have a circle in front of them. I can not click on those songs, delete or anything and when I eject the phone they are not on the phone. I tried to re-add the songs and it says it can't add songs because they've already been added. So HOW can I get the songs to actually ADD to my phone to where I can listen to them? It's like they're stuck in Sync limbo or something! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am having the same problem. I have just tried this. Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. On itunes the "On this iphone" tab the songs remain there but greyed out.

Is there a way to sync music from one mac and podcasts from another mac?
So I have all my music (CD Ripped and iTunes Store purchased) on an iMac at home. I sync a shuffle, nano, video and touch with it. Works great with playlists..
Now, I have a MBP that I use for work and have been downloading podcasts to iTunes. Can I use one of my iPods (thinking of the Nano), to sync ONLY the music from the home iMac, and ONLY the podcasts from the work MBP?
Thanks!Okay, I said what the ****, and connected the Nano to my MBP.. A breeze, I told it not to sync anything.. Went to the Podcast tab, and told it to sync and overwrite everything.. Seems to work perfectly.. Now lets see what happens when I connect it back to my iMac.. I think I just have to disable the syncing of the podcasts...

Please help. I have no idea why this is happening and I'm kinda new to using iTunes. I'm trying to sync music from a playlist on my iTunes account onto my iPod Shuffle (older Shuffle). I use Windows XP on my laptop. When I try moving the songs to the iPod it says the iPod is synced to another library. I didn't know I had another library (but I guess it is possible because I used iTunes a few years ago too).
The only option I get is to delete the music already on the iPod and sync the iPod to "this" library. I really don't want to lose the music already on the iPod. PLEASE HELP. I'm tech challenged to say the least.See this post.

Why can't I sync music from my mac to iPad?
I'm having trouble syncing music from my MacBook Pro to my iPad. I have some music that is already transferred, but I can't seem to add new music. Any suggestions?
Hi Zane
Yes, I do that each time, but it makes no difference. I've had an iPhone with music on for ages, and this issue only happened when I update to iTunes 11 earlier on in the year. -
