Turn off currency label in BEx report

In BEx Analyzer and BEx Web, can the currency label be turned off for values appearing in report?

Open up your query and right click on the KF structure. Choose new Formula. In the Formula builder dialog box that opens up, choose the NODIM() function from the lower right hand side of this window (it should be under Data Function). Then double clcik the KF you need to set this for (from the lower left hand side). Give an appt description to the new formula.

Hello,
Is it possible to display key figures without currency unit in BEx reports? For example; Material Costs 1000 EUR
should be shown as 1000. Currency unit EUR and also scaling factor (*1000 EUR) does not interest us.
When we use display options in query properties, we just see an option of displaying key figures with/without scaling factors, which does not solve our problem.

thank you very much for your quick reply. We have very detailed reports with min. 10 columns, I should have defined 10 more formula columns to realize this (NODIM), but anyway there is no other way to do this, am I right?

How to turn off Currency Conversion within the execution of Fox code

Hi All:
We have a number of custom key figures defined in a Planning Layout.
We had wanted to define those fields as type CURR with 4 Decimals, however it appeared that 2 Decimals was the maximum we could specify. We therefore wound up using Type FLOATING POINT with 16 Decimals.
In some Fox code that calculates these custom key figures we then use a ROUND statement to produce values such as 3.2735000000000000.
When this Fox code executes in debug mode, I see a generated ABAP program running which includes Include programs RUPFGENTOP and RUPFGEN00. This program executes a Form F_00001, which is essentially the Fox code. Here I can see the ROUND statement producing the desired result. Right after though a Form TCURX_CONVERSION executes, which often reintroduces all 16 decimals, and I might get values, such as 3.2735000000000001 or 3.2734999999999998. These small fractions cause other issues later on in the process.
In our case we are not trying to convert an amount from one currency to another, so we don't understand why it even would try to do a currency conversion.
My question: is there any way to "turn off" this currency conversion routine?
Please advise - any suggestions would be most welcome.

Hi Robert,
the solution suggested by Anass only works for key figures of type number. For key figures of type amout or quantity it is not allowed to change the number of decimals. Especially for amounts the number on the DB can only be intepreted correctly knowing the currency. Depending on the currency the value 1 on DB may be 100. This is why the FOX does the TCURX_CONVERSION, a better word would be currency shift since currency values have to be scaled depending on the values maintained in table TCURX. Since FOX needs one common number type for calculations the shift is neccessary.
This is the reason why amounts have only 2 decimals on DB, the real number of decimals comes from TCURX; no entry there means 2 decimals, i.e. not scaling is neccessary. This is why changing the number of decimals via domains might corrupt all data.
It seems that you are using release 7.0x, in releases 7.3x internally uses DECFLOAT data type, thus the 'problems' coming from binary arithmetic in ABAP FLOAT will not occur any more.

Can i turn off icon labels in Symbian ^3 on my N8?

just updated my N8 from anna to belle and my first inclination is to turn off what was originally called tool tips, or the superfluous labels underneath each icon in the GUI. i mean isn't that what the G stands for - Graphical? the Nokia representative checked on it, but could find no user setting to resolve this. she did say that in fact these labels are 'theme' controlled so i'm off in search of a (third party?) theme that would render my icons label-less...

there may be some custom themes that remove this label, but normally you cannot turn them off, no. i personally have no issue with them and find them quite useful in time.

Turn Off BOXIR2 InfoView New Crystal Reports Document

How do you turn off the option of creating a new Crystal Reports document in InfoView?
We are only using the Web Intelligence functionality at this time in InfoView and the 'Crystal Report' option in the 'New' menu is causing confusion and curiosity and we want to be able to turn it off.

Hi John,
The below solution will not turn off the Crystal Report creation option from New tab in InfoView but it will not show the any option related to creation of Crystal Report. This will ensure that user can not create any crystal report from Infoview leading to step away the confusion and curiosity about it.
You can specify the Crystal Reports Explorer features that are available to each user.
Please try out the following.
1) Log on to CMC as as Administrator.
2) Go to BusinessObjects Eneterprise Applications; then click Crystal Report Explorer.
By default, each user is granted full access to all the available features. You can set the availability of each feature for specific users, or for groups.
3) So accordingly select Manage group or Manage Users Tab; and select the user or group whose options you want top modify.
3.1) If you want to set a user's access rights to be the same as for each group to which the user belongs, select Use Group Rights
3.2)If you want to set specific access rights for the user, ensure that you clear Use Group Rights check box, then select or clear features from the hierarchy of available options.
If users belong to more than one group, they will receive the combined access rights for all the groups to which they belong.

Hi,
Instead of using decimal in your KF, use currency. Then the system will automatically take the currency values.

Currency Display in BEx Report

When I am executing a BEx Query with Regional Language options on the OS as English ( United Kingdom ), I am seeing the values in Number format ex : 98766EUR but when I change the Regional Language Options on the OS as German ( Deutshland ) I am seeing the values in text format ex : 98765.60.
Anything to be changed in Excel to solve the problem???

But when I refresh the workbook or execute the query, it should come by default automatically. With the option mentioned below you are changing the cells manually which doesnt solved the problem.

Can I turn off automatic running of a report

With XML Publisher Enterprise 5.6.2 is there a way to make it so a report does not run when you click it? Most of our reports don't have default parameters, so they end up running for all, which takes quite a while.

This is not XMLP functionality. This is how Concurrent manager works. XMLP takes the output from Concurrent Manager in XML format and converts into how the associated template is defined.

Turn off the faces labels?

Is there a way to turn off the labels for Faces? when I go through my photos, nothing is more iritating than the labels asking for someone's name in each photo. How do I turn this off?

Turning On Bex reporting Flag

Hi,
We have ODS size of 7 million records. The Bex reporting Flag is swithched off on this ODS and I would like ON it now.
Do I have to clean the data and relaod everything back in or is it ok to switch on the Flag now and transport it?

Hi,
You can turn on the bex reporting without deleting data, but if you activate the ODS it will create SID for the entire ODS contents. It may take long time to activate depending on the ODS size. See whether you have enough wait time in your foreground and background(while transport) before doing this.

HP Laserjet Pro MFP M127fn - How to turn off T.30 Trace Reports

After every fax received the unit prints a "T.30 Trace" report. Needless to say, this is a big waste of paper. Have gone into the Reports setup and changed the settings accordingly, but am still getting this report after every fax we receive. We are using the unit as a fax machine/copier only, so it's only connected to a phone line and power source. How can I turn off these unwanted reports? Thanks for any assistance you can give.

I see that you are having issues with the T.30 Trace Reports printing, you have already turned off the setting and the printer is still printing them off. I would like to help you out with this issue today.
Just double check the setting, to make sure it is still turned off.
Go to Setup, Service, T.30 Trace.
You could update the printer's firmware, but the printer would have to be setup on a computer to do this.

I have an Iphone5 .. thought reported asked for help to find to find my iphone. this deactived my phone. how do i get the deactivate 'beacon' turned off?

I have an Iphone 5. I thouht I'd lost I phone in an Wal-Mart. A Wal-Mart clerk was trying to be helpful and got her Iphone and reported it lost and deactivated.
Eventually, I found the phone. It was completely cleared and the phone had a message to take it to my service provider. I spent 2.5 hours at the Sprint office. The Sprint Tech was finally told to contact an Apple Tech who said to downloand a I tunes account accout and then the phone would work .. it didn't.
There seems to be some sort of program that needs to be done to the phone itself to turn off the deactivation beacon to the phone .. help .. does anyone know how to help me???

To be honest it sounds like phone is locked to disabled screen and needs to be DFUed and restored in itunes.
Go to youtube and type in DFU. Watch movie and do the same and then restore in itunes. That part should not be a problem for Sprint tech if he knows anything. Or for you if you follow instructions here.

Batch Number Transactions Report - TURN OFF

We are managing our batches in B1 2007A; however, our customers do not care what batches they're receiving, per se.
That being said, we do not want batch reports to be created each time an invoice is readied to be printed, as we simply X each report that appears (batch number transactions report, batch report in document). Can these be turned off if batch management is on?

When we use the document printing feature, we can skip the generation/printing of batch number transaction reports and such; however, when we're doing one-off invoices (not a large run, which is common with our company), the simpleness of choosing print preview and only seeing the invoice pop up would be ideal, as we do not want to print the batch reports at this time (only track within the system).

Currency translation with user defined exchange rates in a BEx report

Hi guys,
our business department requests a new functionality in our BW system. They want to simulate a currency translation in a BEX report. But this currency translation should be so flexible, that the user can change the exchange rates directly in the report.
For example: The report should show a list of all our local company revenues. In the first column the plan revenues will be shown in the local currency (each company has its own local currency: USA->USD; Japan->YPN, Great Britain->GBP and so on). This revenues comes from a normal infoprovider, loaded via flat-file.
In the second column the user should be able to enter or change a plan currency rate. The entered exchange rates should be stored in BW for a next use. They won't maintain the rates directly in TCURR, because this rates are only for simulation use !
In the third column the translated Revenues in Euro currency has to be shown under the use of the exchange rates from the second column.
I investigated a lot of time in the SAP help and here in the SDN, but I didn't find any solution to realize this. Is there generally a possibility to make a currency translation with exchange rates out of the TCURR? Would it be an option to use the integrated planning function of BW? Or is this requirement to far away for an simple implementation in SAP BI ?
I hope, someone of you has also fixed a similar problem or has a good inspiration.

Unfortunately, exchange rates are not a part of my cube. They are held in different tables, and referenced depending on what kind of exchange rates I need to be looking at (average rates, daily, planning etc.). The only way for me, at the moment, to know which rates have been used is to go to query global view, and look at the type of conversion, and then try to figure things out. Plus there can be a different key date used in the query, which makes things more complicated.

ODS Bex Reporting Off and SID Question??

We were looking at the Specific question below:----
We have switched off the BEx reporting functionality on an ODS and are using an Infoset to query against the ODS, so there is only 1 table in this Infoset.
Question:----
Does the Query written on this Infoset need to go through a SID table fo eg: It spends a lot of time in Serial Nbr SID table (/BIC/SZSERNR) which is an Infobject used in the ODS.
I tried a few things as explained below:----
I actually created a few New Infobjects based on the Infobjects from the Original ODS. We created a new ODS similar to the original ODS by replacing some of the Old Infobjects with the New Infobjects. I switched Off the Bex Reporting option for this ODS. It did not inserts any SIDs while loading the Data into this New ODS...However while executing the Query on an Infoset built on this New ODS, it updated the SID table for the New Infobjects.
I was wondering when the option of Switching Off BEx Reporting is to facilitate faster Loading of Data, why does the query need to insert the SIDs during the Query execution as that increases the Response time on the Query. These New Infobjects are not used in any Infocubes so is there a necessity to maintain the SIDs as we are trying to Query on an Infoset.

I'm not sure, but this could be a track.
The ODS or Infoset are checked to update the BW Statistics? Maybe a update is taken if BW Statistics are tracking the query execution on these dataproviders.
