  • Macbook pro speaker output via iphone 4 connect via bluetooth ?

    Hi,
I wonder if anyone could help me out with this question on my head. If the functionality for bluetooth on macbookpro, could pair with the iphone's bluetooth and it could have the other function than only function like network sharing for example the one that I wish is sound output, so iphone could become bluetooth headset too.
    Thanks,
    Sfnteja

    Hi,
Infortunately I do not have a solution neither.
Just to add that I have a triple boot, with Mac OC, Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit and I have the exact same problem in recognising the external iphone earset microphone.
I have been trying to tweak the windows registry with no luck yet
Hope that there will be an an updated version of the bootcamp drivers that will solve this.
I went to an apple store yesterday (at Genius Bar) and i was unpleasantly surprised when a technician told me that the line-in socket was also compatible with an external mic (poor him)!

  • How can l get audio only from my Apple TV 3 to output through Iphone 5 using Airplay or something else so l can watch my Apple TV and listen to it through my iphine headphones without waking the family at night

I am wanting to remotely listen to the audio form my Apple Tv3 (about 13feet away).
I would normoally jusy plug in a headphone extension cable into the TV but it does
not have a headphone output jack.
I was thinking it would be the best option to simply have the audio stream to my iphone 5
thus allowing me to watch my Apple TV late at night without waking the family,
I was wanting to use the iphoine 5 as the audio sort of like a remove headphone reciever.
If l could get airplay ro play the audio from the ATV3 to the iphone5 then my guess is that
would be the best solution.  Basically use the iphone 5 as an Airplay receiver / server.
Any other alternative would be great to hear.  Any solution that gives me good quality sound
without cables running all over the family room.

Not possible. Audio can be output to airplay enabled speakers via ATV settings and then headphones connected to them.

  • TV S-Video output with Iphone 3G ?

    Hello !
I searched a lot around, but didnt'help to clarify this :
I would like to use video output on my Iphone 3G. My TV has an S-Video input.
    1) Does Iphone 3G has a S-Video output?
    2) If answer is yes : can you indicate the hardware ?
    3) If answer is no : it there something existing to convert YPbPr signal to S-Video ?
Thanks for any support because I'm not a video expert and feel a little bit lost !

Thank you for your answer. I knew this helpful article.
So the first solution is to use composite video signal.
But, as I would like to use the high quality component video signal to feed the S-Video input of the TV, my question is now :
Is there a simple mean to convert "component video" to "S-Video" signal ? Is it performed with a simple adapter or does it need an active box for signal conversion ?
    Thanks for any idea!

  • Video output of iPhone 5

I have a car stereo, and you could use a iPhone 4 or earlier, and there is video output to the screen.  But with the iPhone 5, they say it is not capable of video output.  Anyone know when this will be fixed?

  • Selecting audio output from iPhone - bluetooth or dock?

    Hi
I have a problem selecting audio output on my iPhone 3GS with my incar system
    Set up:
Dension ipod dock connected direct to CD changer port on Radio
    Bury Bluetooth hands free device.(CC9060)
My preferred option is to have the Dension play my audio.
However when I turn on the iPod function on the iPhone, the audio defaults to the Bury hands free system and tried to stream the audio via bluetooth which the phone cannot do.
On the bottom right of the screen on the iPhone, I see a speaker icon - I click on this and I get the option to select the iPod Dock or the CC 9060 (Which is the Bury Hands free)
I can select the iPod dock and teh audio plays fine, however, how to I force the iPhone to always use the iPod dock and not the Bury hands free.
From what I can tell, its not the Bury which is forcing teh choice - its the iPhone, but I cannot see anywhere where there is an option to choice the iPod dock as the default audio device.
    Any one have any ideas?
    Thanks
    Glenn

    Found a quite probable fix.
I've took my dock station under big lens and noticed a stuck contact -- they are supposed to be somewhat movable. So I pick a real small screwdriver and unstuck the contact.
    Issue is apparently gone.

  • Vga output from iPhone

I don't know if this is the correct place for this post or not. I teach at the post graduate level and give many lectures. I need to find out if the videos that I create and download to iTunes can be run from the iPhone through the vga in our auditorium so that I do not have to bring in my MacBook. This is especially a problem if I do it spur of the moment and I do not have my MacBook with me. Projection system is windows based but I never have a problem playing the Quicktime videos from my MacBook using the vga adapter that came with it.
Apple composite or component cables will not solve the problem.
    Thanks

Ansus is right; however, there are lot of (relatively) cheap VGA convertors that can work with the component out cable for the iPhone.
    http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/vga-rgb-component.html
and these do work just fine with the iPhone component cable because another poster here got and used them.
Now, remember that videos on the iPhone need to be MPEG4 -- you can convert them even in iTunes by right-clicking and doing a "Convert for iPod". Otherwise you'll be set.

  • Audio output from iPhone iTunes to TV Aux input

I'm trying to play music that's on my iPhone's iTunes through a component cable connected to my TV's AUX input, that in turn is connected to my receiver. It's physically easier to connect the cables on the front of the TV rather than to connect it to the back of the receiver. I've tried connecting the component cables directly to the base of the iPhone, and also through the iPhone's cradle, and then plugging just the right and left audio into the TV AUX input, but nothing happens. Any suggestions on what's wrong? Thanks.

well, you have to have your TV on the correct 'input' mode so it is using the audio coming in through the jacks on the front of the tv. you will then have to have your tv hooked up to your receiver. your tv will have to be on in order for this to work.
since you will only be connecting the cable one time, wouldn't it be simple to connect the cable to your receiver? that way, your tv doesn't have to be on in order for this to work.
    just my thoughts...

  • Poor iPhone video output from QT Pro

I am creating videos for my website using the File > Export for Web option in QuickTime Pro.
My problem is with the generated file for the iPhone "myfile-iPhone-cell.3gp". The video generated for the iPhone is very poor quality - it is very pixelated when streamed over the internet. I believe this is due to the fact that it is generated by QuickTime Pro at 176x109px, which is about 1/2 the size of the iPhone's actual screen. So, when it gets to the iPhone, it has to be "enlarged" and then gets grainy. If I stream a large dimension MP4 file, like 640x480px (from another software converter) into my iPhone, it looks really great.
So, I'm wondering why the programmers at Apple, who have direct access to the hardware and software, chose to output the iPhone-cell.3gp file at such a small dimension? Is there a way to correct this or am I stuck with what I get? I feel the video quality is not good enough to put on our corporate website.
Any advice on this is appreciated. Thanks.

The cell type movies are meant for ten-year old Nokias.
I feel the video quality is not good enough to put on our corporate website.
Then don't post it. Or enlarge it.
Use a larger export size. The iPhone type. It's for the iPhone: myfile-iPhone.m4v
It's not difficult to figure that out. And you seem to know the answer:
If I stream a large dimension MP4 file, like 640x480px (from another software converter) into my iPhone, it looks really great.
And why not try them all. Why not try? Why so helpless?

  • Cannot find synched videos on iPhone

I have converted WMV files (using ConvetVid, QuickTime Pro, and a couple of other programs) to MPEG's and other iPhone compatible files.
When I move these files into my iTunes library and synch up, the videos are appearing on my phone in the iTunes status bar, but I cannot find them on my iPhone anywhere.
    Any suggestions?

Mmmm...WMV has always been a little buggy with Handbrake, but I thought 0.9.4 fixed that, finally. At any rate, follow these instructions and report back:
    http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/handbrake-convert-videos-into-ipho ne-format/
If it doesn't work, you may have to find another converter to convert to avi or such & then use Handbrake to output to iphone format.

  • Switching iPhone audio out when lightning plugged in

Is it possible to switch an iPhone's audio output to "iPhone" while it is plugged into my car's USB to charge? ie so I can hear alerts, messages etc. while listening to the radio?
It seems audio automatically switches to USB when plugged in, with no way to override it.

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW device.  If those don't solve your problems, you'll need to go to Apple for evaluation.

  • The saga continues:  my quest for good video

on previous discussions here and on the iMovie thread, i detailed my frustration with video attained with my Vixia HV30 (HDV) camcorder. i obtained FCE because i thought my problems might be related to my old iMovie HD 6. the problem persisted: staggering video that seemed to stagger roughly every four seconds. this was observed even with the ingested source played within iMovie or FCE. much phone time with apple product specialists. clips carried to other computers showed the same staggering in the same places. camera carried to other computers (at apple retail store, more time with a product specialist) produced the same staggering when footage was ingested there. this convinced me that the problem was in the camera, not on my computer (new display, new graphics card, problem predated both).
canon serviced the camera and "it was found that the part was inoperative the device could not communicate with the computer." i found this encouraging and hastened to test. alas, the same problem was there and it was now not focusing correctly which had been fixed earlier.
after a period of head banging on wall, i went to best buy and purchased a HF S10 (figuring i could return for the restocking fee and essentially "rent" an HD camera to test with).
my first experience with AVCHD so had to do a little learning. reshot my test and ingested the video.
what a beautiful, sharp image. THIS is what i expect from an HD camera.
source clip played perfectly in the canvas (something that did not happen before). thrilled, i produced a 1280x720 clip (the size vimeo prefers for HD video) and eagerly watched in the QT player.
    same staggering. WHAT?
recalled that one of the product specialists i talked to was not all that enthusiastic about the QT player, so i played the same clip using VLC. perfect. WHAT?
output to AppleTV. perfect. output to iPhone. perfect. output in a variety of SD sizes. QT always had the stagger at the same 4 second interval (harder to see on the smaller sizes, but still there). VLC always played with no problems.
am having a hard time understanding this. is it an encoding issue that QT can't handle, but VLC can?
i can play HD movie trailers from Apple that are way larger than what i have produced and they play just fine, so i don't think it is the player per se. why is this happening?
and my other big question is would FCS compressor program do a better encoding job that would avoid this?
just for reference, the "vimeo" clip mentioned above has a data rate of 10.87 mbits/s

tom, here is the clip. this is 1280x720 de-interlaced. when i play this using QT player, the clip staggers roughly every four seconds (i suspect it is between 4 and 5, but i am just counting, not clocking). it is noticeable once the train gets rolling. when i play in VLC, there is no stagger.
the first stagger i can detect happens at about 20 sec. then 23, then 28 and so on.
once i loaded the clip to my iDisk, i played it to make sure it had loaded correctly. playing it within Safari, the stagger is still there, but significantly reduced. just something else to confuse me, i guess.

  • Apple Applications on LCD screen

I am developing an Apple Accessory that displays the video screen of gaming type applications(motion sensor games) of iPods/iPhones/iPads on the LCD screen.
Is it possible that while a Gaming application is running on iPhone 4, a compitable accessory displays parallely video output from iPhone 4 on a separate display ?

I'm not sure that this is what you are asking but if you are referring to the need to enter the lock screen passcode instead of using Touch ID the first time every time after you power the phone off and back on, that is normal and how it was designed to work. As to the why, I would be guessing.

How to pair an i5 to my lexus, the car has a code of 1111, but I dont know how to pair it to my phone, can anyone help ?

    From the iPhone User Manual:
    Pairing Bluetooth devices
Before you can use a Bluetooth device with iPhone, you must first pair them.
Pair a Bluetooth device with iPhone:
    1  Make the device discoverable.
See the documentation that came with the device. For an Apple Wireless Keyboard, press the On/off switch.
2  Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on.
3  Select the device and, if prompted, enter the passkey or PIN. See the instructions about the passkey or PIN that came with the device. For information about using an Apple Wireless Keyboard, see Apple Wireless Keyboard on page 24.
To use a Bluetooth headset with iPhone, see the documentation that came with the device.
Return audio output to iPhone when a Bluetooth headset is connected: Turn off or unpair the device, or turn off Bluetooth in Settings > Bluetooth. Audio output returns to iPhone whenever the device is out of range. You can also use AirPlay to switch audio output to iPhone. See AirPlay on page 30.
