An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.  Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
    To restore from backup see:

  • I tunes reads laptop memory when ipod plugged in

I have abn i pod nano which until today has worked fine... but from today when i plug my nano onto sync lead.. i tunes operns as normanl but then askes me to register nano... in the left field it seems to read the laptop memory when the ipod is higlighted.... i.e telling me i hav 40 gig of free memory
    Any idea?? please help!!!!

Do you have any other networked drives or external drives? I have experienced the problem with a Shuffle on a PC that is connected to network drives.
The solution is fairly simple yet not obvious. You need to force a drive letter for the Nano because XP is getting confused. It is trying to assign the same drive letter as something else (your 40GB drive) and reporting the wrong info.
    1. Go to Control Panel and open Administrative tools.
    2. Click on Computer Management
    3. In Computer Management highlight Disk Management at the bottom of the list.
    4. Now you should see all of your drives, including the Nano. The Nano should have the short name you gave it. Click on the drive representing your Nano and right click. Select Change Drive Letter and Paths...
    5. You will see a window listing your drive and the buttons, Add, Change, Remove, OK, and Cancel. Click Change.
    6. Now there is a new window. Make sure Assign the following drive letter: is checked and use the drop down box on the right side to select your new drive letter. Select something far way from the rest of your drives - I, J, K etc...
    7. Click OK.
    8. You will see a notice about changing a drive letter. Click Yes.
    9. Your drive should now have a new letter and iTunes will be able to read it properly.
You may have to do this twice before XP remembers to set that drive letter from then on. After that you should no longer have any problems.
    Take care.

  • Moving I Tunes off laptop

My I Tunes Library is using 20GB on my work laptop. Am running out of disc space. How do I move and where? I have a 80GB portable hard drive I have been using as a backup.

If you have iTunes 7, then you can just drag the entire iTunes folder to your external hard drive Then hold down the Shift key while launching iTunes. You'll be given a dialog box where you can select the iTunes library you want to use. Navigate to and select the iTunes folder in it's new location.
Once you've confirmed that everything is working as it should from the external drive, you can then delete the iTunes folder from your internal hard drive.
    Hope this helps.

What are the EXACT errors your getting? I take for granted you get these when trying to install iTUnes. You need to make sure your user account is set to have administritive rights AND "Fast User Switching" is off
Try going to control panel>add and remove and uninstall BOTH iTUnes AND quicktime. Disable antivirus and then goto apple.com to download and install the latest version of iTunes

  • Laptop says 'This version of iTunes has not been correctly localised for this language. Please run the English Version'. Can anyone help please, have no idea what to do and haven't used laptop in over a year. iPad/iPhone have lost tunes from laptop too.

my laptop will not open iTunes, as it just says 'This version of iTunes has not been correctly localised for this language. Please run the English version'. I have not synconised my iPhone 5S or iPad 2 with iTunes for well over a year. I noticed the music which had previously been put into iTunes has dissappeared from my phone and iPad. I also want to remove some movies from my iPad and iPhone and there is no way I can do this without being able to manually sync with the Laptop which is running windows 7. Has anyone else come across this and please can you help? I am no expert in fact I know very little about the Laptop, it is my Husbands baby but he doesn't understand anything to do with Apple including iTunes. I will need any advise explained step by step please.

    Hi Shelady,
Try downloading and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes from the first link below. If that doesn't do it, the suggestions in the second article should resolve the installation issue.

  • I can not syn the i phone with I tune in laptop

It syn step 1, 2 ,3, but can not complete step 4.
I install App at I tune (laptone), managed to transfer the App to mini i pad but can not do so for I phone 4s

There are still 'some' apps that only require 4.2.1, but very few and far between.  I dont' evne know of any off the top of my head.
However, an iPhone 3GS can run iOS 6, and there are many, many apps that only require iOS 6.  Or, with an iPhone 4 or higher, you can run iOS 7.

  • Cable TV Tuner for Laptop

I have a Lenovo g550 that I want to use for live cable tv.  can I get the adapter - what do I need - etc.

Do you want access to encrypted content or only unencrypted content (re-feeds of OTA broadcast networks over the cable network).
For the former, you need a CableCard-enabled tuner.  These are currently only sold in a prepackaged bundle with CableLabs-certified PCs.  Blame CableLabs for this.  There are eventually going to be CableCard enabled tuners sold independently of CableLabs-certified PCs that only allow tuning of content marked "copy freely" - Which is not guaranteed to give you more than OTA broadcast network re-feeds.  (If you are a Time Warner customer - everything but the broadcast networks is marked copy-once or copy-never by TWC in almost all markets.)
For unencrypted content, you can use any of the Hauppauge external WinTV-HVR solutions - http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/prods_hvr_external.html

  • Having a hard time installing the latest verison of i-tunes. my laptop can't find the path ITUNES64.MSI" WHAT TOO DO NEED HELP . uninstall the old one now i can't install the new one..heip

can"t install lastest verison of itunes. path too ITUNES64.MSI" unable to find. uninstall tunes and still having the same problems
what do i do to reinstall itunes????

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • I-Tunes, new laptop

    Hello,
I am sorry as i am sure it has been posted but i have had a good search and cannot find exactly what i want:
I have an old laptop running on XP and this laptop has got my iTunes how i want it to be - library, playlists, purchases etc...
I want to move the entire library to my new laptop running on Vista. I have tried alot of options suggested in the iTunes help, such as authorizing the computer and using the iPod etc, but i want to transfer the lot to the new computer.
I have a removable external hard drive to do this.
Any help would really be appreciated.
    thanks in advance
    Steve

Here's how I did it using an external drive. This works fine if you have been using iTunes to completely manage your music and all your songs are in iTunes Music not in different folders. If the songs in your library are not all in the iTunes Music folder you can consolidate them. When you consolidate, any songs in the iTunes Library that are not in the iTunes Music Folder are copied to the Music Folder and the Library is updated to point to those new files. Files already in the iTunes Music Folder have no changes made to them before you transfer iTunes: Copying all your iTunes files to one location - Windows
Attach your external drive and copy over your iTunes folder. Copying the whole folder brings with it the iTunes Music folder and also the iTunes Library (iTunes Library.itl in Windows) database file which holds all the information about your songs (Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added, etc). You'll get more information including the Folder/File structure in this article: What are the iTunes library files?
When you copy the iTunes folder make sure you put it into the same location on the new computer. This has to be the exact same place, on a PC this would be in \Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Music\. When you open iTunes on the new computer it will be the same as on the original one Songs, Playlists, Play Counts, Ratings etc. When I moved iTunes for my daughter I was also using the same version of iTunes, not sure how important that is but it's probably worth keeping them the same.

  • How do I delete an album purchased on my i-phone for from the i-phone's i-tunes?

The i-tunes on my i-phone is set up to sync with the i-tunes on laptop - if I purchase a song on either, it appears on the phone straight away. But I cna't figure out how to delete tracks purchased in this way from the phone. Help...?

Try swiping to the left instead. Works for me. In the music app I can delete songs by swiping to the left, but I cannot delete an album in the same manner

  • Took fotos with iPod touch, now laptop thinks iPod is a camera and won't sync with iTunes

I have been loading vinyls onto iTunes using EZ Vinyl Tape converter. I have sync'd OK until recently when problems encountered with EZ. However there are some tunes on laptop to sync. After using the iPod touch as a camera I now cannot sync.  The laptop thinks the iPod is a camera and does not initiate iTunes, instead the laptop gets a totally blank screen and I cannot do anything, not even switch it off. I have scanned laptop for bugs, viruses etc using norton. I am totally stuck now.
