Two computers using one Cinema display
Howdy, is there a nice way to switch source for my Cinema Display?
I currently have an Air that i just connect to the cables of my cinema display when i come home but I have ordered an iMac that i wan t to keep connected to the cinema display but when I need to I would like to connect my Air without unplugging my iMac.
I read an old thread with same name but it was closed and had no apparent solution.

KVM switches are not the most aesthetically pleasing devices. You'll just have to keep looking until you find one that appeals to you. Last I looked Belkin seemed to make the least grotesque models. No clue if they are still making them though.

Two computers using the same display
Can I use one cinema display with two computers ate the same time. that is, can i have my MBP and a Mac Mini connected and switch between the two?
Try Gefen and have a look in their Apple Section.
I think a 2-1 DVI KVM switch is all you need. But of course the HD Mate Scaler will do everything.

I have two computers. Laptop and Desktop, both of them are PC platform an I have an 30GB iPod video (newest one). I am currently using to sync iPod with laptop. My question is if I can use iPod simulatelously (not sure about spelling :)) with desktop. I need this because I have a most of videos on my desktop HDD.
You can't "sync" that is automatically update an iPod from multiple libraries or computers. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply.

Can I use Logic Pro 9.1.6 on two computers with one licens
I have download and install Logic Pro 9.1.6 on my MacBookPro 13". I record on location with my MacBook an wil edit and arrange the music on my iMac at home. Can I use Logic Pro 9.1.6 on two computers with one licens. I'm the owner of both computers. If it can where can I find the program on my MacBook? and how to install and register?
Hi, is the iMac also 10.6.8? I had an iMac die when 10.6.8 was installed, it worked at first but after some You Tube flash videos the screen just locked and no mouse clicking anywhere did anything. It turned out that most older iMacs [ mine was from august 2007] have a graghics chipset that can't handle Snow Leopard, there were [are?] 77 pages on this "locked screen"topic in the Snow Leopard forum. I checked out a web site that tells you how much your mac is worth by filling in the sereal number-mine was worth only $168, I may give it to a friend for his children to play with, although that seems unholy. I doubt anyone woud buy it,the problem is now so well known that even Apple certified resellars here in the Netherlands refuse to repair them, they claim Apple will revoke their certification if they replace the faulty Graphics unit,it is also VERY hard to get to that unit in an iMac, everything is so tightly packed inside.
If your iMac is running Mountain Lion[10.8.0] you may have to change the app store preference to accept apps from all sites, normally ML will only allow app store apps to be downloaded. -

Can two computers share one iTunes library?
I am trying to map out a new plan for how we store and play music via iTunes at home. Currently, our music is stored on a windows PC and played via iTunes and an airport express. I recently bought a new macbook and am considering an airport extreme with the hope that I can store the music on a hard drive attached to the airport extreme and play music from either computer. Can the two computers share one library? I already have home sharing turned on and can access my library from the macbook, but if possible, I would prefer having the hard drive separate of the desktop. Any reason this won't work?
Thanks!

Yes, two computers can share the same library.
I periodically copy my iTunes library from my Mac Pro to the Mac Mini.
They aren't using a single library. Each computer is using its own copy and you have two sets of library files. It can certainly be done that way but if between copy sessions you edit a bit of each library then it is a bit of a muddle trying to make sure your versions are synchronized with each other. For example, ratings are stored only in the .itl file, so if you rate a song on your second computer it will get lost the next time you copy over from your first. -
HT1449 how do you move all music from two computers into one itunes account?
How do you move all music from two computers into one itunes account?
An "iTunes account" is an online account you use for buying music, like a bank account. An iTunes collection is the media you see when you open iTunes. Which do you mean?
If it is two computers, it would also help to know where these are located. Are they on the same local network? If they are, try Home Sharing (and you have control of both and you aren't just trying to get music fro your computer to your friend's computer in another state). If they are not, you'll have to use an external hard drive or flash drive.
Is this on a PC? Your computer information says Windows but you posted this in the iTunes for Mac forum. -
How to fix the "Two computers using the same IP address" issue on the airport express
I just bought an airport express and got dsl at my apartment, and I haven't been able to set up the wireless connection. My DSL works just fine but whenever I hook up the AX I get an error message saying that there are two computers using the same IP address on the network, but I only have one computer.
I know this is probably a simple fix, but I've never had this issue when I set up the Extreme at my parents house and I haven't been able to find a thread on this.
As of right now I have it set to Factory settings.
Help please! This modem was designed to connect directly to a computer and you are trying to connect it to a router.
Unfortunately, this is not a simple fix as both the modem and your AirPort Express will need to be configured differently to work together correctly.
Connect the modem directly to your computer.
Open up your browser and type the default IP address for the modem into the address bar. Check your documentation on the modem but it is likely 192.168.1.254
That will bring up the configuration page for the modem.
You may need to enter the modem access code which is on a label on the back or bottom of the device
Look for an Advanced tab, then look for a tab labeled something like PPP Location
Right now, you will see that "PPP is on the modem"
Chance that to "PPP is on the computer or router"
Click to save your new settings and the modem will restart
If you ever need to get the modem back to its original settings, you will need to hold in the reset button on the back of the modem for 5-6 seconds and then enter in the default IP address to be able to access the settings on the modem
Connect the modem to the AirPort Express with an Ethernet cable
Open AirPort Utility on your Mac and click Continue to follow the guided setup to "Create a wireless network"
You may be asked to "switch" networks when you do this. You want to switch
Select the "Connect Using PPPoe" option when it appears
Enter your user name and password with your provider. Leave the Service Name area blank. You want to always stay connected if you see that option
Continue to follow the guided setup and Update to save settings
Pull the power cord from the modem, wait a moment, then restart the modem
Log on to the wireless network that you created during the setup and you should have an Internet connection -
Can I connect two computers to one device?
Can I connect two computers to one device? I am trying to have them control different aspects of the experiment that I'm running.
That depends upon the device. If it's GPIB, you could
use the E-NET card to convert it to LAN. That would
allow control by many computers. The only problem with
that might be sychronization. That is, Computer 1 does
its setup. Then Computer 2 does a reset. Compuer 1's
setup is now gone.
As another poster suggested, you could always network
between the two computers.

Two current input one can display while another cannot
Good evening everyone!
Our group is uing NI 9227 to get current from our circuit. But from the two indicators in front panel, as both of our two switches open, one can display current while another just shows 0.00....
But when I run circuit 2 independently in a new VI, it can display current normally...
Could anyone tell me why and how can I solve this problem??
Thanks so lot!!!AmeHyesung wrote:

Use words not letters "NEED hlp Plz R U labview xpert?" Use full English sentences. If you have trouble with this please refer back to speaking in your native language, or go back and take English class.
Source
The VI you posted is quite messy and plenty of places for improvement but I am not convinced that this is the source of the problem. Why are you setting up your DAQ Assistance to be continuous sampling at 100 samples at 100Hz, but then you convert from the DDT to a single sample? If you really want a single sample then take a single sample. I'd also suggest not using the DAQ assistant because it can hide issues like this by using DDT. Still this should prevent you from seeing the right data.
It looks like you have current going into AI0 and AI3 of your device, are you sure this wiring is correct?
With a DMM can you confirm the correct readings going into the DAQ card?
Also you mention running a separate VI and having it work. I don't know how this is possible because one program will lock the current measuring device and not allow that resource to be used anywhere else. You should be generating errors. Which a simple error handler should show you. You should probably add that after the while loop stops.

Can two computers use same iTunes library on a network drive?
Can two computers use directly (rather than share) the same iTunes library on a network drive?
My media library is on a network drive attached to my Airport Extreme. Right now I share the library with my desktop Mac. I can share fine, but I would like to be able to add, delete, and make other changes in the media library from both computers. The two computers would not be accessing the library at the same time as I am the sole user of both.I appreciate your input and I think you're right about this being impossible. But just to clarify, you say I can't "have multiple machines accessing the same music files from a shared location." I can have multiple machines accessing the same music files from a shared location--I just can't have them accessing the same music files simultaneously--which may have been what you meant. For my situation, I think it will be less work to just quit iTunes on my server when I want to run it on my client (using Chicken of the VNC). It's not ideal, but it's less time-consuming than periodically syncing three computers.
Again, thanks for the input. -

How to use the cinema display while your Macbook is closed
How do I use the cinema display while my Macbook is closed? Whenever I close the laptop the display shuts off as well. I really don't need them both to be on. That defeats the purpose of the external display. when I am home I want to use the laptop like it is the desktop computer.
I am using a MB Pro and a 23" cinema display. Have a wired USB keyboard and a USB wireless mouse connected through the keyboard. When the MBP is closed and when I restart it, the wireless mouse is frozen and the keyboard does not respond. I have to reopen the MBP, use the trackpad mouse, restart again and hope it will work closed. There doesn't seem to be a consistent way to make it work.
Suggestions?
Thanks.
