Two Message Servers in one System

Dear all.
I learned from http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/84/54953fc405330ee10000000a114084/content.htm that one SAP system has one central instance which contains one message server. But our system seems to have two message servers.
Our system ID is "ABC". When I open the SAP Management Console, there are three children nodes under our system: One blue database icon named "ABC" and two green icons named "ABC 14" and "ABC 31". Under "ABC 14", there are nodes "ABAP WP Table" and "J2EE Processes Table". In addition, there's a "Process List" node here. The processes include "msg_server.exe", "disp+work.exe", and "igswd.exe". Under "ABC 31", there's no "ABAP WP Table" or"J2EE Processes Table". There's only one node "Process List". It contains "msg_server.exe" and "enserver.exe".
My questions are:
1. What are "ABC 14" and "ABC 31"?
2. Does "ABC 14" contains at least two instances? One is for Java and another is for ABAP?
3. What's the role of "ABC 31"? It seems to only contain enque server and message server.
4. Why are there two message servers in a single system "ABC"? One is under "ABC 14" and another is under "ABC 31".
Thanks + Best Regards
Jerome

Hi Sunil,
Thanks a lot for the clarification. Just have a little bit confusion left.
1. Since there're two message servers, may I say that there are two central instances? Or these message servers belong to a single central instance?
2. There's no "enserver.exe" in ABAP instance. So is the "enserver.exe" in the JAVA instance also responsible for the ABAP enque and deque operations?
Thanks + Best Regards

  • Two licence servers in one environment

    Hi,
Is it possible to install two licence servers in one environment and point some of the users to one licence server and others to another. Is there where i can change on the local PC to point to a licence server.
My assumption is that it is stored centrally as i tried to change it on one user PC and all were changed to the same server. Is my assumption correct or how can this be achieved.
Thank you in advance and your help is appreciated.

    Hi,
The SAP Business One workstations read the name of the license service to which they connect from the SLIC table in the SBO-Common database. All Company databases sharing an SBO-Common database use the same license file. In addition, several SBO-Common databases can direct to the same license service.

  • Why sometimes we have to use two message( ) to display one message ?

  • Connecting Two webapplication servers to one backend

    Hi Gurus,
We are using MAM 3.0 version on SAP Netweaver 7.0. Can we connect one more Webapplication server  parallely with exising server to the samebackend. Two webapplication servers in parallely with one backend. Is this possible? could you please give us some documents so that it would be very helpful for us.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Satish

    Hi Domas,
As pointed our by Holger, this is supported for inbound flows where your use case is to read (pull) some information from SAP into SharePoint. But use cases like reporting and workflow which publishes some items in SharePoint you cannot have the same ECC system.
But if you intention is only for DEV landscape setup and want to save a VM image and still want to support reporting & WF scenarios, then you could also create a new client which is the copy of your existing clients in the same ECC system.
Since logical port configurations are client specific you could practically connect same ECC system (but 2 diff clients) to 2 gateway systems.
    Thanks,

  • Two messaging servers

I have 2 messaging servers, one is microsoft exchange server and the other one is sun messaging server.
    Exchange Server Info:
    Domain Name: testdomain.com
    User :  [email protected]
               [email protected]
    Sun Messenging Server Info:
    Domain Name: testdomain.com
    Alias domainname: branch.testdomain.com
    user: [email protected]
[email protected],sam should be able to check their mails either from exchange server or sun messaging server. Microsoft exchange server is my priority server.
To sync the mailboxes in both servers what I am doing is
    1. Whenever exchange server gets a mail for joe or sam, it configured such a way that it delivers locally and fowards a copy ([email protected] or [email protected]) to SUN mta. So I get the mail for joe or sam in SUN mta.
So Whenever Exchange user joe sends mail to exchange user sam, a copy of the mail will be forwarded to sam's mailbox in SUN mta.
My problem is whenever SUN MTA user joe sends mail to SUN MTA user sam, it will be delivered localy within SUN mta. I want to have same copy in exchange server's sam mailbox. How to do it? I dont want no more changes in exchange mta except that the one I have configured already(Whenever gets mail forward a copy to [email protected]).
    How to do it?
    thanks

There is no reason why you can't upload the emails to the exchange system and have this system duplicate them back to the Sun MTA.
But I reiterate what Jay said and what I have already said in a previous thread, what you are proposing is bound to cause unforeseen problems. A users account should only exist on a single mail-host.

  • Two Message Mappings in one Interface Mapping without using BPM

    Hello Experts,
I have this scenario, please help me
I have to execute two mappings of which one is a java mapping and then the other is a message mapping sequentially.
The mapping is something like below
    Message1  -> (java Mapping) -> Message2
    Message2
    Message1 -> (Message Mapping) -> Message3
Based on the value in Message2 I have to map Message1 to Message3
I am not an expert in java so please give me options that doesn't involve changing of java code.
The above 2 mappings have to be implemented in only one interface mapping.
    Suggestions please.

    Hi Ravi!
You say message2 dependes on message1 and message3 is mapped from message1 but using also values from message2? But this means, that whole mapping dependes only on message1!
So change your mapping and use the one not based on message2, but message1. Put these as a condition in interface determination and based on these values use the correct mapping.
    Peter
p.s. I'm not sure, if I got your requirement correctly, but your target message dependes only on message1 (since message2 dependes on it too), so this whole mapping can be done as 1. Unfortunately, you'll probably have to change your java part. Bur definetely, Raj is right.

  • How to install two oracle database on one system

i want to install two oracle databases on single system how it is possible
how i can manager oracle home and is this possible to install two different version of oracle in single home or single system forexample oracle 9 and oracle 8 .
    A.R

    Hi,
yes, u can have more databases on a single machine and they can be of different versions.
You have to use and initialize the correct ORACLE_HOME to create the DB of the version U use.
For ex, u have 2 homes:
    C:\Oracle\Ora817 8i home and C:\Oracle\ora920 9i home
Normally, using OFA, imagine that You want create 2 db, TEST_8I for 8i home and TEST_9I for the 9i home, You shold have:
    C:\Oracle\Admin\TEST_8I\<<OFA DIRS>> and C:\Oracle\Oradata\TEST_8I for 8i DB adn C:\Oracle\Admin\TEST_9I\<<OFA DIRS>> and C:\Oracle\Oradata\TEST_9I for the 9i version.
It is important, when You create the DB, that u use the executables of C:\Oracle\Ora817\bin to create 8i db and C:\Oracle\Ora920\bin for the 9i one.
Then U can use the 9i listener to manage both instances
    Hope this helps

  • Two message mapping in one interface mapping

    hi,
my scenario is idoc to file and i am using java mapping(not UDF) for some fields as well as graphical for rest of the fields.
I want to add these two mapping program in one interface mapping to generate final target, but the problem is it is not creating final file structure, but when i add only one mapping(either one) it works fine.
I'm doing this because I have to add value mapping, after the value i get through java mapping or is it possible to use static value mapping within the java mapping itself.
    Please help.....

    Hi,
In addition to what Moorthy said you first test mapping individually and see if it works fine. While testing you make sure you are giving the right input, I mean if Java mapping comes second you need to give the output XML of the Graphical mapping or vice versa.
Hope in Java mapping is done properly and you are returning the expected structure as output. For example if you are using Java mapping as the first one your ouput should be exaclty like that of source structure with the values filled.

  • Run two CA servers in one domain/forest

When we migrated from Windows Server 2008R2 to Windows Server 2012R2 we decided to migrate the CA from the old server to the new one. The problem was that the new server had a different name and the migration was that simple. After a year that everything
was running ok, we now have problem with the CA. From one day to another there are no certificate templates anymore and the service keep crashing. As I can't find the reason and the solution I would like to setup a new CA on a fresh server that only will run
the CA and let this CA deploy all the certificates to the clients. Is it possible to make a new CA while the existing one is still there?

    Hi,
You can install multiple root CAs in one forest..
Multiple Root CAs in single forest / single domain

  • Two SAP server on one System

    Hi All,
I have SAP MI 7.0 Installed with OS MS Windows 2003, DB MS SQL 2005. I want to Install SAP Solution Manager SR 3 on same System. Please help me to know how can i do this ? what are changes required on existing server so that both SAP server component can run at same time.
If any guide for same , please share link of tht.
    Thanks In Advance.
    Regards
    Gyan

    Hi Gyan,
The installation guides and documentation will give you the information you need.
Basis administration is not easy work and it requires study.  Asking for shortcuts on SDN is not a substitute for that work.  The main reason you have not received further replies to this thread is that it is inappropriate for you to ask and expect "shorcut" instructions from professionals who have "paid their own dues" through study and hard work.  I would also think that your employer might think twice if they understood that a Forum was where they were going to receive their instructions for a complex, technical implementation.
We are not "wasting our time" with such replies, rather we are trying to ensure successful implementations of SAP.
    Best Regards,

  • Two Mobile Server for one Backend ?

    Hi,
we need two Mobile Server. One for internal access and one for external access.
Is it possible to have two Mobil Servers for one backend system and can I sync all the config between this two servers ?
    Regards,
    Gerald

    Hi
Yes, you can mirror on the hardware,DB and OS level.
This is not possible with your mobile server.
<i><b>One for internal access and one for external access</b></i>
For external access you can expose one of the IP's as a static IP and for internal Access you dont need to expose it.
If you are planning to have two Servers then you will have to get as many licenses from SAP.
PS: reward points for helpful answers

  • Policy based NAT to share 1 public between to two internal servers

    Hello all,
I would like to implement a solution that allows me to share a single public IP amongst two internal servers. One service uses a range of tcp ports.
I believe the below will address what I need however - can I use the ‘object-group’ command or do I need to specify each tcp port separately?
    This?
    object-group service A_Bunch_O_Ports tcp
    description Telemesis comms to-From Internet
    port-object eq https
    port-object eq www
    port-object eq 8060
    port-object eq 8070
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 object-group A_Bunch_O_Ports host 1.2.3.4 object-group A_Bunch_O_Ports
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.200 eq 25 host 1.2.3.4 eq 25
    nat (inside) 3 access-list policyNAT-share
    global (outside) 3 1.2.3.4 netmask 255.255.255.255
    Or this?
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 eq 443 host 1.2.3.4 eq 443
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 eq 80 host 1.2.3.4 eq 80
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 eq 8060 host 1.2.3.4 eq 8060
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.100 eq 8070 host 1.2.3.4 eq 8070
    access-list policyNAT-share extended permit tcp host 172.20.40.200 eq 25 host 1.2.3.4 eq 25
    nat (inside) 3 access-list policyNAT-share
    global (outside) 3 1.2.3.4 netmask 255.255.255.255

Do you need both inbound and outbound connection for the server, or only outbound connection?
If you only need outbound connection, then you don't even need to specify the port on the access-list. You can just configure the following:
    nat (inside) 3 172.20.40.100 255.255.255.255
    nat (inside) 3 172.20.40.200 255.255.255.255
    global (outside) 3 1.2.3.4 netmask 255.255.255.255
However if you need both inbound and outbound connection for the server, then you should configure the following:
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 443 172.20.40.100 443 netmask 255.255.255.255
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 80 172.20.40.100 80 netmask 255.255.255.255
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 8060 172.20.40.100 8060 netmask 255.255.255.255
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 8070 172.20.40.100 8070 netmask 255.255.255.255
    static (inside,outside) tcp 1.2.3.4 25 172.20.40.200 25 netmask 255.255.255.255
