1. Plant Data Collection(PDC) of Production Confirmation for shop floor operators:
This application is designed to provide shop-floor operators a simple, intuitive and effective web-based user interface on a touch screen to enter the production performance easily and effectively. It comes with the capabilities to perform time-event production confirmation for both Production and Process Orders and the administrator can choose between two user-management modes for operators.

The files are on these following sites:

Extracting the application source code
The application files are stored in an archive named "xmlnews.jar". Download the archive, create a directory for the files
(for example, XMLNEWSDIR), then do the following steps.
Copy the "xmlsample.jar" from your downloaded directory to the XMLNEWSDIR directory
Set the current working directory to XMLNEWSDIR
Execute the following command to extract the files:
jar xvf xmlsample.jar
when extracting the jar drive the directory structure is not the same as in the documentation
Documentation states to extract the xmlsample.jar file which is not included on Oracle website. Can not locate xmlsample.jar - can not run sample application.
Need solving:
1. Which file runs the dynamic new application?
2. Where is the file located?

Sample application using the Eclipse BIRT schema

Somaco have produced a sample application based upon the Eclipse BIRT example schema (customers, orders, products, etc). Hopefully this will be of some use to new-to-Spring developers looking for other example applications and sample applications.
So far we're tested/run the sample application on Tomcat, using JOTM transactions against the MySQL version of the BIRT schema. We'd like to (a) offer the sample application to those Weblogic users looking for sample applications (other than petstore), and (b) get some feedback on the sample application from Weblogic users - both for the deployment and for the app itself.

The sample application uses the following Spring MVC Framework features:

<li>Various Spring controllers including: SimpleFormController, AbstractWizardFormController, and MultiActionController.</li>
<li>Validation and Custom Editors (including a CustomTimestampEditor for java.sql.Timestamp fields).</li>
<li>Clearly tiered application design with web, application and persistence tiers.</li>
<li>Ibatis/DB persistence tier using result maps, correlated result maps, dynamic and iterative map definitions.</li>
<li>Simple QBE on text fields.</li>
<li>Externalised messages (for i18n/l10n).</li>

The sample application was created using the Somaco Software Production service.

BPM Simple Sample Application Error!!!

hi,
i have some problems with the bpm simple sample applications on our local sap nw ce system (7.1 ehp1 sp0)?
on the esworkplace i have download the *.sca file and have import this file into my nwds.
i following the simple sample documentation an define and configure the ERP and ERP_META Destinations on the nwds and our local sap nw ce system.
also i do the future steps which was described (service registry, proxy settings, ...).
on page 16 of the simple sample documetation is defined which Sofware Component has dependencies to other SC´s.
the SC "BPEM_BUILDT" depends on the SC "ESMP_BUILDT" and "COMP_BUILDT", the SC "COMP_BUILT" doesnt exist on my nwds (7.1 ehp1 sp0).
has everybody any idea why the SC "COMP_BUILT" not exist on my nwds???
still this absent SC i can deploy the bpm simple sample successful to our sap nw ce system.
now i do the post deployment steps for the bpm samples.
after this i call the simple sample application on my sap nw ce portal and can execute the "Initiate Equipment Phase In Process".
now i can see a new entry on my uwl, i open the uwl task.
at step 1, 2, 3 i change no data an click next, after step 3 (create equipment) i get the following error:

Problem with packageing and deploying a sample application

HI,
I have tried to download and install the server in my system. I am able to deploy a sample application using autodeploy utility.
But when i tried to package a new sample application and deploy i am getting 404 error. For application server i have used 7070 port and not the default 8080 port will this a problem to package & deploy sample application provided with this software.
The error is as below:

Btw, verify that the url you are trying to access is correct. For instance, assuming you deploy app. without --contextroot option. By default, the url is http://<host>:<port>/<web module name>/<value of url-pattern in web.xml> if your app contains servlet. If your app has jsp then it's http://<host>:<port>/<web module name>/<value of url-pattern in web.xml>/<name of jsp>

SAP MII. Make iGrid run faster

Hello Experts,
While developing user interfaces based on SAP MII I am often using iGrid Display Template. I've find out that speed of iGrid reaction directly depends on its size. I understand that I should not pass large data amounts to Java applets (as iGrid), but even if iGrid has size of 10 columns to 100 rows it is downloading data very slowly..
Is it possible to make iGrid run faster? Maybe some Java or NetWeaver configuration should be implemented?

Hi Vitaly,
I am not sure which Version of MII you are running but there is one important thing to know about using Displaytemplates like iGrids .
In the layout section of your e.g. iGrid, you should always define the columns to use/display. If you are not doing this the query is always executed twice (first execution to determine the columns to display and second execution to get the data). I am not sure if this behaviour still exists in the latest mii versions/patches but in previous versions you could double Performance by just defining the column names. so maybe you can have a look at this.

     I am interested to learn more about SAPUI5 which will be very useful for my upcoming customer projects.
     Regarding that i have followed certain steps from some other blog post.
     The steps that i followed are explained below:
          In Eclipse Kepler IDE:
               1. Download Eclipse Kepler IDE.
               2. i follwed the steps that mentioned in the url "https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/#sapui5"
               3. i created one SAPUI5 application project.
               4. i tried to run the sample file, but i am getting error as below
"JSR 356 WebSocket (Java WebSocket 1.0) support is not available when running on Java 6. To suppress this message, run Tomcat on Java 7, remove the WebSocket JARs from $CATALINA_HOME/lib or add the WebSocketJARs to the tomcat.util.scan.DefaultJarScanner.jarsToSkip property in $CATALINA_BASE/conf/catalina.properties. Note that the deprecated Tomcat 7 WebSocket API will be available."
5. Then i installed JRE 7, even after installing Java 7 i am unable to run the project. it shows sap.ui5 property file missed.
In SAP MII 14.0:
     1. I just copy and paste the Hello World program from internet into HTML file.
     2. I tried to execute it, but in that i am getting error as " sap undefined error, sap.core.js Script error, etc,.."
I am not sure about the steps which i was follwed as right.
Kindly help me out how to proceed on further.
Kindly guide me how to execute SAPUI5 application projects in Eclipse IDE and SAP MII 14.0.
I need the procedure to execute the same in Eclipse IDE by using Tomcat server and how to deploy the SAPUI5 in SAP NW.

I have 10.6.8 and have installed two new printers HP 8610 and an Epson 7880 and can not find the Page Set-up menu anywhere in the applications I a trying to print from. This is regardless of either printer selected.
I primarily print photos from Photoshop CS5. The term Page Set-up has gone missing in the file pull down menu. Can't make any choices There are no page sizes, paper types, appearsto be locked on a 13x19 size paper format. Either being too large or too small.
Saw a 2008 locked issue about this however none of the help fit my situation, options discussed are not available to me.
Preview has no "Page Setup" - or does it?
Does the constant struggle with computer compatability weirdness issues ever end or is it a enslavement scheme?

Hey,
if you know the name(s) of the root folder(s) you want to access (eg. by making a note on the Windows side) then you can make them appear by just doing Shift-Command-G in Finder ("Go to Folder…"), and entering the full path to the required folders. You can then navigate all the contents as normal.

Managed bean/Data exchange between two ADF Rich Faces based applications

Hi,
I have been trying to research what seems to be a small issue. My requirements are as follows.
1. I need to be able to pass managed bean information from one ADF Rich Faces based application to another (in two separate ears) at runtime (e.g. from Ear1: SenderApp/Sender.jspx -> Ear2: ReceiverApp/Receiver.jspx).
2. I do not want to use the database as my applications need to be performant.
3. Serialization/de-serialization would fall pretty much under the database category. In other words, I like to avoid Serialization/de-serialization of the managed bean.
4. I cannot use query string due to security issues.
My question is as follows:
1. Is there any standard/architecture/best practices for data exchange of backing beans or other forms between two ADF Rich Faces based apps (in two separate ears)?
2. Has someone found anything similar to an applicationScope that works across applications?
I would appreciate any ideas.

Hi,
its not an ADF Faces problem, but not possible in Java EE. You can however fallback to vendor specific implementations like in WLS. From the WebLogic documentation : http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/webapp/sessions.html

If you would like Web applications to share the same session, you can configure the session descriptor at the application level in the weblogic-application.xml deployment descriptor. Hi, Thanks for that further bug description In Your Last Message That Describes The Problem I Am Having perfectly and is exactly the same for me.
unfortunately that fix for my camera Powershot G6 does not work or apply as the view pictures switch is different on G6 is not usable during download as once you plug in DC/USB cable it turns off, and makes no diff and problem still exists exactly as you just described.

it has been 17 days since apple promised to get back to me within 3-5 days hopefully with a solution, but I have still not heard from them.
They blew me off, i guess, probably i will have to wait for new Yosemite OS update, which they pre-warned me could take as much as 6 months.
I cannot believe apple released this new update with such major bug issues for camera downloads and that horrible "Photos" pgm which has all sorts of downgrades in features, usefulness and new bugs compared to iPhotos which I just finally got used to and was much better software.
I am starting to lose faith in Apple and I am getting that Microsoft "FEEL" like I used to have when I was a PC user, which was why I originally switched to Apple computers in first place.
Oh well got my fingers crossed here.
Thankfully the memory card reader solution is working well, but cost me $45.

The sample apps are available in <install directory> /appserv/samples directory or <install directory>/samples directory (depending on which build you are using). You can deploy any of the application and test it. You can run it by http://<machine name> :<port number>/<context root>

To provide a little context for the problem I am having:
I am following examples on how to use Essbase based on the book "Look Smarter Than You Are With Essbase" by Edward Roske and Tracy McMullen. I am new to Hyperion and Essbase, and am trying to learn about it and document what it can do. I used the the Sample Applicaiton, Basic database that came with the installation files and opened it in Excel by connecting to Essbase through Provider Services (all of this was done within Excel). The sample is based on a fictious company called The Beverage Company. I set-up a specific view that shows Sales of the Cola product in the East region, comparing the Actual sales with the Budget sales. The Sales of each city within East sum-up into a total for the East region. When I change the Sales in a specific city, like New York, I can successfully hit Submit Data (from the Hyperion menu within Excel), and then can see that it has been updated in the Essbase Administrative Services Console. However, when I try to calculate the data, throught Excel menu Hyperion > Calculation Options > Calculate (like the book says to do), I do not get the same result as the book says. Instead of updating the Total Sales for the East region, it reverts the data entry in the New York cell back to the original value. So essentially, any ability to enter in new data or change budget data, which is the purpose of Planning, is non-functional if I cannot get the Calculate the data I change. Have other people tried to do a similiar task of updating cell data in Excel and calculate it? If so, were the results successful?
