Any way to move type effects over an existing photo?? I am having trouble adding "lens Flare" specificly, and changing font and color. Would like it to play in bottom right 1/3 of frame. Any ideas????

I don't see why you would have a problem adding a title over an existing photo: just drag-and-drop it over the photo. That should do the trick. Also, if you are having problems doing that, insert the title somewhere else and move it over top of the photo.

Why do I lose type effects on my printed page such as emboss, bevel and drop shaodow (in Photoshop CS6) when I save my file as a jpeg or pdf?

Most likely you simply have your printing/ PDF options set to not rasterize non-vector data and since al lthese effects are pixel-based, you simply lose them. Just enable that option and everything should be fine.

Type effect question

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to replicate the type effect (upper arc and lower arc combined) that's shown in the example below in Illustrator. So far, my attempts haven't been fruitful. The example might be hand-drawn and there might not be a way to do it in illustrator but I still wanted to ask and see if anyone has an answer. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks so much.

Effect > Warp > Bulge and enter a negative value for the top slider.
Or Object > Envelope Distort > Make with Warp > Bulge and enter a negative value for the top slider.

Resolution drops when using type effect over image

Using a type effect over an image causes the resolution to drop below acceptable levels (211 dpi). The client has used a glow effect around text to knock back the image for better legibility. The image is 300 dpi, the text box is transparent with an outer glow effect. I matched the effect with a drop shadow using white but the problem still happens. I've increased the resolution of the image to 600 dpi, same problem. My transparency flattener presets: Raster / Vector Balance 100, Line art and text resolution 2400ppi, Gradient and mesh resolution 400ppi. Downsampling for PDF export is off. Printing postscript doesn't solve the problem. I've solved the issue by recreating the effect in Photoshop and turning the effect in InDesign off. This is in CS6, but I've opened the file in CC 2014 and have the same problem. Anyone have a solution?

The problem is within the digital file that's exported or postscripted to our PDF workflow. Preflighting in InDesign indicates no problems but the exported PDF in Acrobat shows the problem. Prinergy and Printready both fail the refine as our lowest acceptable limit is 280dpi. The PDF looks fine, the problem will be when the (offshore) printer preflights the PDF and sees the resolution problem. The issue is with the InDesign effect reducing the resolution - only in the area under the text box. All the images, text etc are CMYK. If I turn off the effect the PDF is all good.

Live Type "effects" not present

I've periodically loaded and unloaded the (2) Live type Media discs when my laptop has been low on space. Never had the problem about to describe before.
I have my hard drive partioned into two drives: The hard drive and a Videostore (where I keep my Final Cut Pro media). I also usually load the Live Type Media on that drive.
This time, all the Livefonts, Fonts, Textures and Objects media shows up when I open LIVETYPE...but the "effects" do not.
I've re-installed the discs several times.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I copied the appropriate files off of another computer that had the effects on them, and they correctly came up on the computer i was attempting to load them on.

How to create this type effect within Appearance palette?

What would be the easiest way to set a lot of type in this style?
Currently I have it all set as type (not outlined) and have the Rise Warp effect applied from the Appearance tab as well as a Drop Shadow. However, with this method I have to go in manually with the pen tool to keep it from looking like this:
I'll be needing to make a number of titles in this style and I'm looking for the quickest way to do it. Any advice? Thanks.

Camera stuck with night vision type effect

My camera worked fine for a few days, but now it's stuck with some type of effect that looks like a night vision infrared mode or something. It's all green, and the luma values look like they're reversed or something. It looks that way both on the iphone display, and in the finished picture. I don't see any settings that effect the camera (there are some for photos, but not the actual camera)- do I have some sort of effect turned on, or is it broken? Thanks...

the only other thing you can try is restoring the software of the iPhone, This will wipe out the info (Only on the iPhone) If that does not resolve the issue then it will need to be serviced either By calling Apple or Going to a Apple Retail Store.
If you sync to one computer everything should still be on the computer and would sync back up.

New order types effects on COPA

Hello all,
My business are creating a new Order type for a particular sales organisation and distribution type, they want me to investigate what configuration changes do we need perform in COPA for the smooth creation and transacitons of the new order type (If at all any config changes are required). Kindly advice if you know the solution.

have similar scenario where we created new sales order types & data from new order types are not flowing to COPA ( Specifically table CE11000).

Slider type effect advice - is it possible (not how)

Hi,
Im considering purchasing a slider for my camera as a I want to achieve perfect parallel movement to say a square object like a table.
Was hoping to get some advice from the experts as to wether this could be possible to achieve the same thing in After effects before outlaying any $$$?
I have a stabilised handheld so was thinking maybe some positioning & warp stabilizer might do the trick.

warp stabilizer is nifty, but it cannot perform miracles!!!
if it could... nobody would sell sliders, steadicams, tripods, etc!!!!!
still... you should do some warp stable tests and see if you're satisfied !!!
i work with a shooter that occasionally uses an arc slider that's
controlled by electric motor... quiet, smooth, precise and repeatable!!!
great for matching elements in composite work!!!

Adjustment presets a-la "film type" effects

Are there downloadable presets out there that imitate various film characteristics? For example: Velvia, T-Max, etc...
Or is this outside of Aperture's scope and abilities?

i'm completely intrigued by these presets. i love the idea of having them around. how did you come up with them?
also, i would assume that the best way to apply the presets would be to adjust exposure, contrast, and probably most important, white balance to get a pleasing, accurate color rendition. then finally apply the monochrome conversion. was that your intent here?

Ok with one image effect but not two ?? explorer problem, firefox is ok...

Hi guys, I've just starting put a site together here:

I'm aiming for a the image effect at the top with imagerotator and a coverflow type effect at the bottom.
I put the coverflow viewer in first and it worked fine on firefox and explorer.
then i added in the image rotator. Both work good in firefox but in explorer I only get the top image rotator, no coverflow lower down. What could be causing this? can anyone please help. thanks.

what about if you install the flash? do both work or can you only see the top one still??

Just now I have seen the forum on wage type errors.
I am also getting the same error while trying the configuration.
I have checked a lot on forum however none of them seems to work for my issue.

I have checked all table and still the same issues.

I suspect some where in your config start date & end date's are wrong because I've seen your total screen shots in all screen shots Date's are delimited so recheck once again are do one thing delete that wage type and re-maintain the wage type effective date from 01.01.1900 to 31.12.9999.

HP Color Laserjet CP2025 printing with a 'shadow' effect

Hi All
My printer is printing some documents with a pink 'shadow' type effect on font (various different ones) and even an image I have inserted.
If I print a test page I don't get this, yet documents I have saved as a template and have been using since I got the printer have always been ok up until today.
My printer is only approx 4mths old. Toner levels are ok (half or over). I have turned off, re-calibrated, & also re-calibrated the colours but still a problem.
Any ideas?
I should add if I send the document/s to a different printer (an Officejet) I don't get this problem, but I prefer to print these on the Laserjet due to quality

I've had a look at the Manual and it refers me to using the HP ToolboxFX - this I don't have on my computer.
I am running WIndows 7 and the cd that came with the printer wouldn't install.
I am trying to find this HP ToolboxFX on HP's ite but no luck and as for trying to contact them, I have to jump so many hoops only to find they don't have my model on their list before you can send them an email grrrr
Anybody able to send me a link for this HPToolboxFX? I presume it should be available??

GL A/c & Doc Type

If I want to know that for a particular GL account what are the different doc types effecting it .... how can I do that ?? which tables needs to be searched ??

Both SAKNR and HKONT are GL accounts and they are populted based on type of dicument.
Please go through the diagram enclosed . This will provide you some information how the FI tables are populating based on documents .

From "Video" to "Film" effects plugin ...

Hi,
Does anyone know/have any plugins that can give video that really "film" type effect? I've tried doing it using Color Correction & 3 Way but someone told me there may be plugins for it?
Or any other plugins you may think would come in handy? Is it worth investing in Magic Bullet?

If you can make it pay for itself, sure.
The film look from video is a terribly overworked cliché. It works when appropriate but so many of us slap it on in hopes of somehow improving bad video or satisfying some director's pedestrian concept.
A filmish end result starts in preproduction. Choose your lighting, shutter speeds, codecs, lenses, and sound systems to achieve a satisfying style. Scewing around in post is dreadfully inefficient the firs few times mostly because "film look" is totally subjective.
