TYPING PROBLEM CURSOR GOING BACKWARDS

Since I have installed Yosemite, I have a cursor problem when typing e-mails (only e-mails). When I type an ' like in the word L'IMAGE, my cursor goes back automatically to the letter just after the ' when I am at the end of the word this means instead of typing " l'image parle" it will type "l'iparlemage"
Slightly similar problem with 's in English, the cursor goes back to just after the ' as if not willing to insert a blank. It means I wish to type "Daddy's car" , it types: "Daddy'scar".
This is really boring!
Who could help?
Best regards

I have found a solution: in Mac SYSTEM PREFERENCES, choose the keyboard icon and there go to TEXT and de-activate the spelling.
This has enabled me to go to MAIL, then EDIT on the top line, chose SUBSTITUTION and exclude SMART QUOTES.

  • Mail - Typing ll makes the cursor hop backwards

    Whenever I type a word that ends in ll, for example I'll, We'll, You'll, in an email in Mail, the cursor hops backwards to in-between the 2 'l's when I press the space bar. Therefore when I have finished writing, there is only one 'l' at the end of the word and the other one is at the end of the email.
    I can't imagine that there is a preference for this.... it must be a bug...... Does anyone else experience this?

    From the menu bar, select

    I am trying to uninstall itunes and at thepiont where I try to remove apple mobile device support it never completes the timer goes backwards?

    First try a repair install of Apple Mobile Device Support. If that goes through successfully, see if you can now uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support.
    If the Repair install doesn't help, try using the fixit from the following Microsoft document to remove Apple Mobile Device Support:

  • Facing problem while going to  catch return result from web-services.

    Hi everybody,
    I am new to BPEL. I am facing problem while going to catch the attributes of resultsets returning from web-services(QAS). As far as my knowledge, two types of results it should return - XML entities and another is attributes which is coming as the part of XML entitites. I am able to catch the XML entities, but can't catch the attributes under it. Even, I am not able to see whether web-services returning something within that field.
    When, I tried to catch the attribute and store to a temporary varilable using the following code:
    *<assign name="AssignQASDoGetAddress1">*
    *<copy>*
    *<from variable="InvokeQAS_DoSearch_OutputVariable"*
    part="body"
    query="/ns6:QASearchResult/ns6:QAPicklist/ns6:PicklistEntry/@PostcodeRecoded"/>
    *<to variable="temp"/>*
    *</copy>*
    *</assign>*
    but, I am facing the following selectionFailure errors after running it:
    *"{http://schemasxmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/}selectionFailure" has been thrown.*
    -<selectionFailure xmlns="http://schemasxmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/">
    -<part name="summary">
    *<summary>*
    empty variable/expression result.
    xpath variable/expression expression "bpws:getVariableData('InvokeQAS_DoSearch_OutputVariable', 'body', '/ns6:QASearchResult/ns6:QAPicklist/ns6:PicklistEntry/@PostcodeRecoded')" is empty at line 269, when attempting reading/copying it.
    Please make sure the variable/expression result "bpws:getVariableData('InvokeQAS_DoSearch_OutputVariable', 'body', '/ns6:QASearchResult/ns6:QAPicklist/ns6:PicklistEntry/@PostcodeRecoded')"is not empty.
    *</summary>*
    *</part>*
    *</selectionFailure>*
    Getting this error it seems to me that web-service is returning nothing, but, it returns something as it has been catched using a method called isPostcodeRecoded() Java Code in Oracle ADF. This method has been used as it should return boolean whereas for catching the xml entities using java code we used the method like getPostcode(), getMoniker().
    For your information, we are using Jdeveloper as the development tool for building the BPEL process.
    Am I doing any syntax error. Please consider it as urgent and provide me asolution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Chandrachur.

    Thanks Dave and Marc, for your suggestions. Actually what I found is QAS web-service is returning nothing as attributes when the attributes are set to the default value. For example, following is the part of the wsdl of the result which QAS webservice returns.

    <xs:attribute name="PhantomPrimaryPoint" type="xs:boolean" default="false" />
    </xs:complexType>
    here the attributes like FullAddress, PostcodeRecodedare , etc. are not being return by the web-service when it is getting the default value false. But, if it gets true then , it is being displayed at the BPEL console.
    Do you have any idea how can I catch the attributes and its value even when it gets the default value which is already set. Previously, it was returning(it was not being displayed at the console).
    Thanks once again for your valuable suggestions...!!!

  • Weak and Strongly Typed Reference Cursors in Reports

    Our custom reports has been using a reference cursor. I have inherited the code and not sure why there is a need to use a reference cursor when it can be done by a simple select statements. I see no dynamic select statements passed or any special parameters to reason out for use of reference cursor in our custom reports. Prior developers had reason out the benefits of using reference cursor for performance. I tested this by running a report with reference cursor versus plain select statement and still the report that is using the plain select statement performed better (faster) than the report that has the reference cursor, there is a big difference.
    I have seen some disadvantage of using reference cursor on the reports that when there is a database object change even if the package that sourced the reference cursor has not been updated or modified the reports needs to be recompiled each time we get this error message coming from the report server queue:
      Terminated with error: <br>REP-8: Run time error in the PL/SQL development
      environment (DE). PDE-PSD001 Could not resolve reference to <Unknown Program Unit>
      while loading <Unknown> <Unknown>. REP-0008: Unexpected memory error while
      initializing preferences.In 9iAS reports prior version the error is occurring rarely. When we moved to 10.1.2.2.0 reports it appears the error occurs most often. We have made an effort to research about the issue and appears to be a bug. One suggestion is to use a strongly typed reference cursor. I have tried to researched about the difference between a weak and strongly typed reference cursor but failed to understand them. I appreciate any help about examples differentiating a weak versus a strongly typed reference cursors.
    Thanks,
    Warren

    I guess my point, for what it's worth, is that whether you use only a strongly typed REF CURSOR, or whether you also use a weakly typed REF CURSOR, you may still end up getting the REP-0008 error (at least if your report is in .REP format). You can avoid this by using a pipelined function instead (or by putting the SQL directly in the report, or possibly by using .RDF or .JSP format).
    To test this, you might:
    1. Create a database package with an SQL*Plus script that that looks something like this:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE TEST AS
        TYPE RECORD_TYPE IS RECORD
            USERNAME ALL_USERS.USERNAME%TYPE
        TYPE TABLE_TYPE IS TABLE OF RECORD_TYPE;
        TYPE WEAKLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR_TYPE IS REF CURSOR;
        TYPE STRONGLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR_TYPE IS REF CURSOR RETURN RECORD_TYPE;
        FUNCTION GET_WEAKLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR RETURN WEAKLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR_TYPE;
        FUNCTION GET_STRONGLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR RETURN STRONGLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR_TYPE;
        FUNCTION GET_PIPELINED_TABLE RETURN TABLE_TYPE PIPELINED;
    END TEST;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY TEST AS
        FUNCTION GET_WEAKLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR RETURN WEAKLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR_TYPE
        IS
            cWeaklyTypedRefCursor WEAKLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR_TYPE;
        BEGIN
            OPEN cWeaklyTypedRefCursor FOR
            SELECT USERNAME FROM ALL_USERS;
            RETURN cWeaklyTypedRefCursor;
        END GET_WEAKLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR;
        FUNCTION GET_STRONGLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR RETURN STRONGLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR_TYPE
        IS
            cStronglyyTypedRefCursor WEAKLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR_TYPE;
        BEGIN
            OPEN cStronglyyTypedRefCursor FOR
            SELECT USERNAME FROM ALL_USERS;
            RETURN cStronglyyTypedRefCursor;
        END GET_STRONGLY_TYPED_REF_CURSOR;
        FUNCTION GET_PIPELINED_TABLE
        RETURN TABLE_TYPE PIPELINED
        IS
        BEGIN
            FOR rec IN
                SELECT USERNAME FROM ALL_USERS
            LOOP
                PIPE ROW(rec);
            END LOOP;
        END GET_PIPELINED_TABLE;
    END TEST;
    /2. Create a report based on REF CURSOR query using only a strongly typed REF CURSOR. The PL/SQL statement that you use in the report as the data source for the query might look something like this:
    function QR_1RefCurDS return test.strongly_typed_ref_cursor_type is
    begin
      return test.get_strongly_typed_ref_cursor;
    end;3. Compile the report to a .REP file and run it to make sure it works as expected.
    4. Drop and re-create the TEST package in the database.
    5. Try running the .REP file again. I expect you will get the REP-0008 error.
    6. Modify the REF CURSOR query to use an underlying weakly typed REF CURSOR by changing the PL/SQL statement (from Step 2) to something like this:
    function QR_1RefCurDS return test.strongly_typed_ref_cursor_type is
    begin
      return test.get_weakly_typed_ref_cursor;
    end;7. Repeat Steps 3 through 5. I expect you will get the REP-0008 error again.
    8. Replace the REF CURSOR query in report with an SQL query that looks something like this:
    SELECT * FROM TABLE(TEST.GET_PIPELINED_TABLE)9. Repeat Steps 3 through 5. I expect you will not get the REP-0008 error.
    Hope this helps.

    Browser Dog, Amy,
    The default font remains Myriad Pro until you change it, either in the RGB/CMYK Startup files or in the preferences, options depending on versions.
    Concerning missing font names, I believe this may solve it:
    Open System Preferences and go to Accessibility. Next, select Display from the source list along the left, then check the box labelled Reduce transparency.

  • SYSDATE is Going Backward

    Hi All,
    I am creating a very simple way to keep track the timing for my processing as the following; however, the timestamp is going backward, any clues?
    My Oracle version is 11g.
    PROCEDURE xyz
    IS
    l_timestamp VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
       SELECT to_char(sysdate,  'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mm:ss') INTO l_timestamp FROM DUAL;
       INSERT INTO timetracking VALUES ('merging data',  l_timestamp);
       COMMIT;
       MERGE INTO ....;
       COMMIT;
       SELECT to_char(sysdate,  'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mm:ss') INTO l_timestamp FROM DUAL;
       INSERT INTO timetracking VALUES ('completed',  l_timestamp);
       COMMIT;
    END;
    the process completed around 30-40 mins, and the result from the timetracking table stored as:
    action                time

    Look at your format mask. Note the difference between 'mm' and 'mm'.I assume you meant "the difference between 'mm' and 'mi'"... Either that, or you're being very clever!
    user4184769 - What orafad is pointing out is that 'mm' gives you the month and 'mi' gives you the minutes. So if your format mask is 'yyyy/mm/dd hh24:mm:ss', you're getting the months where you logically expect the minutes. You almost certainly want 'hh24:mi:ss'.

  • DIRECTOR 11 PROBLEM + CURSOR + WMV

    We are building kiosks for Vista, and have encountered a
    problem with Director 11
    Director 11 on XP and Vista:
    Problem: cursor always appears over WMVs and MPGs sprites on
    stage
    Things tried: Cursor 200, new _cursor.etc syntax tried,
    framescripts moviescripts, behaviours etc.
    within, etc.
    I tried a lot, can't seem to program around it.
    The system will appear the cursor, everywhere else on stage
    it will go.
    Do this some years, it's new.
    Tried cursor hiders on Vista and XP. No program will show a
    cursor, WM within the projector is the only one overruling.
    The cursor is impossible to hide when it is over the video.
    Seems like a Director 11 bug.
    Anyone have any idea how to get the cursor to dissapear ?
    Or anyone encounter this ?
    Does anyone have a short term solution ? Cursor hiders won't
    work:
    - Does anyone know if it is possible in Vista registry to set
    the start location of the mouse to for example 0,0
    - Does anyone know if there is a way in Director to set the
    mouseh and mousev ? Cannot be set.
    - Does anyone know how to hide the cursor in Director 11 over
    WMVs or MPGs ?

    I think this has always been an issue with #windowsMedia
    sprites.
    You could use Buddy API's baRestrictCursor() and
    baFreeCursor() to force
    the cursor off the WMV sprite while it plays.
    Alternatively, since it's a kiosk, you could try the MPEG
    Advance xtra
    or another media player xtra that supports WMV

  • Return csv string as strongly typed ref cursor

    I have a column in a table that is csv delimited and I want to return it (and others) as a strongly typed ref cursor.
    eg
    create table test_tab (mydata varchar2(100))
    insert into test_tab(mydata) values ('"a1","b1","c1","d1"')
    insert into test_tab(mydata) values ('"a2","b2","c2","d2"')
    so test_tab has 1 column and 2 rows:
    "a1","b1","c1","d1"
    "a2","b2","c2","d2"
    So a,b,c,d represent columns in my strongly typed ref cursor
    If I then try something like:
    declare
    type my_rec is record(
    a varchar2(50),
    b varchar2(50),
    c varchar2(50),
    d varchar2(50)
    type my_rec_refc IS REF CURSOR RETURN my_rec;
    my_test_refc my_rec_refc;
    begin
    open my_test_refc for select mydata,mydata,mydata,mydata from test_tab;
    end;
    then it obviously works as my ref cursor is expecting 4 columns. However, what I want to do is break each individual element out of the mydata column. I've played around a bit with dynamic sql but only getting so far and apparently that can't be used with a ref cursor anyway. I need to return a strongly typed cursor as another program requires this.
    One option is to manually parse each row and insert into temp table that is basically definition of record (so record type no longer needed) and this becomes type of ref cursor. I can then simply select from the table. I'm not keen on this as it's just another object to worry about.
    Another option is to do some ugly instr/substr to extract each element in the sql statement (or write a function to do it but need to consider performance of this). The more generic the better as I need to reuse against multiple strongly typed ref cursors (kind of a contradiction in that by virtue of using strongly typed cursors I know exactly what I want returned!).
    Another option is for someone to shed some light on this as it must be possible to do in a simple way along the same lines I have started?
    thanks in advance

    That documentation seems to stay pretty vague. What constitutes the "right set of columns". Obviously my observed result matches what you are saying about not being able to enforce the datatypes in the fields of the strong typed cursor. But then I don't see the point of the strong typed cursor otherwise. Other sites i have read seem to focus on the %rowtype return rather than mapping it to a record. But the general consensus (at least to my understanding) is that if the cursor is strongly typed then the sql statement that used to open it must have the same set of columns and the datatypes must at least be able to implicitly convert.
    I will try the %rowtype strong ref cursor against a table and see if there is a different result. I am mainly interested in this because I would like to beable to ensure the datatype returned on the .net side through ODP
    I want to be able to know the datatype of a field coming back through a ref cursor at compile time not runtime. So it the answer to cast every field of the select statement?

  • 4gen ipod touch typing problem.

    Hey guys new user thanks for having me onboard. Just recently having a new problem that i never ever had before dont know if its a ios 6.1.2 update or what but then again just had this problem today and i updated when it came out and never had a problem until today the problem is on my 4 gen ipod touch is that when i try to type in the searching for a song in music or goog on safari or in a app when i start typing the first letter in like the letter t it would type in like 2 or more letters more than my first letter punch and when i try to use backspace it doesn't work whatsoever and i'm 100 % positive that i didn't do anything to the screen so i typed iso 6.1.2 typing problems on another computer and couldn't find anything and was wondering if anyone else has this same problem and no how to fix or what not any help would be greatly appreciated thanks again.
                                      BTW already restored it andsame thing happens.

    Yes, I type in the phone number, I also tried their apple ID or email address and I put in a message. The Send button would not highlight. I'm trying to send a message to 1 particular person who has an Iphone 6. However, I sent one to my Iphone 6 and it worked so I don't think there is a difference in the software. I know this is an older gen ipod but it says it's up to date.

    Notice that the directory has a newer timestamp, and the file has a timestamp in the future due to adjusting the system clock.
    Simply stop fms, mv the file, and start fms, tail -f your master.00.log file to confirm things start without a clock error.
    service fms stop && mv '.        '  test && service fms start
