Uable to install or recognise Java Runtime Environment

I have version 33.1 and the Java Platform SE 8 U25 11.25.2.18 Plug in 11.25.2 for Mozilla browsers plug-in (set to always open).
When trying to access the Bank-ID system, the web page requests I install a plug-in called "Java Runtime Environment". By clicking, a new popup opens whith this option already checked and ready for install. When clicking "Next", I am told that the program couldn't be installed and that it is "unavailable", and a new button invites a "manual install", when clicking this, a new browser window opens on this address. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-java-plugin-to-view-interactive-content
I can't find the solution here, my MS-explorer works fine with the Java-version I have.
I would post a screen-shot, but don't see how it can be done with this support interface.

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

  • I am trying to install the "Java Runtime Environment" plugin. It is continuously showing as not available. What can I do to get round this?

I am asked to install this update by an educational website.
    The sequence of events is:
    1. Message appears at interactive site on page "A plugin is needed to display this content." along with an Install Plugin button.
2.Pressing the install button brings up a dialogue box, "Plugin Finder Service" with "Java Runtime Environment" ticked.
    3. I press "Next" to install. New dialogue box comes up showing "Java Runtime Environment" as "Not available" and states that no plugins were installed.
    4. The only availablre option "finish," closes the dialogue box.
I have tried following instructions in help but these always bring me back to the same process. I have downloaded the most recent Java software and nothing has changed.
Any ideas to successfully install "Java Runtime Environment." Maybe there's a successor plug-in.
    All help gratefully received.

Hello Andrew, try download [https://www.java.com/en/download/faq/whatis_java.xml Java Runtime Environment (JRE)] from the next link : https://www.java.com/en/download/ . If you can not then try the manual way from the next link : https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp (select the Windows Offline, filesize: 28.0 MB). In.... general, try to use the official sites when you install Java or flash etc.
    thank you

  • Does the java 1.4.2 sdk install the Java Runtime Environment twice?

I just installed this and I noticed that it appears I have two copies of the JRE one in C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2 and one in C:\j2sdk1.4.2\jre\
The contents of both folders look identical to me. Did the SDK install two copies? Did one copy come with Windows XP or Service Pack 1? In Add/Remove Programs there is one entry for the Java Runtime Environment and one for the SDK. I'd like to get rid of one of the copies of the JRE if possible. Thanks,
    Ollie

The copy in Program Files is likely the Java plug-in used with your web browser. I only have 1.3.1 installed so I can't positively confirm your 1.4 installation. Under Control Panels, you should have a Java Plug-in control.

  • I keep getting this pop up.To view this web content, you need to install the Java Runtime Environment. How can I get rid of it?

I keep getting this pop up - To view this web content, you need to install the Java Runtime Environment. How do I get rid of it.

Most likely, you have a web plugin that depends on the Java runtime distributed by Apple, such as the Facebook video calling plugin or the "NexDef" plugin for watching baseball streams. If you no longer need the plugin, remove it. Otherwise, install Java.

  • BIP Desktop installation "java runtime environment not installed"

I keep getting the "java runtime environment not installed" error when I try to install BIP desktop.
I have JRE both as part of the BIP Enterprise Edition install and also because I installed (and reinstalled) SUN Java SDK.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I reinstalled JDK with the JRE. That seemed to do the trick.

  • HT202912 I get the message "To view this web content, you need to install the Java Runtime Environment" Do I need two versions as this article suggests?

I just upgraded to Yosemite on my 2010 MacBook Pro.  When I reboot I get the message "To view this web content, you need to install the Java Runtime Environment" and I've also seen the same pop-up once while running OpenOffice.  And now while composing this post.
Yes - I followed the link and installed the Oracle version of Java, version 8, and the test page confirms that I have the current version running.
I read some threads on discussions.apple.com but didn't like the answers.
    I found this:  http://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/mac-software/advanced-tips-for-mac-os-x-yosemit e-3582877/

  • Install java runtime environment

    Hello;
I am installing the "java 2 runtime environment, se v1.4.2_13", and i set it's path as "c:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2\javaws" in the enviroment variable.
Could anyone tell how i can known i install it properly, please.
At the movement, i am writing a code to connect database with java code by using
SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver 1.1, it always tell me that it could not load the driver. And i am try to make sure i install the java runtime environment properly.

First try something simple like HelloWorld, that doesn't depend on other classes. If that works then you know you have everything setup correct.
If you then have problems with the driver, make sure it is in the class path.

  • Error: Java Runtime Environment seems to be already installed

    Hi
I have been trying to install VDI core on Linux(Centos - 5.5 64 Bit) but unable to do so because of the error Common agent container is not installed on this system. I have checked and found that the cacao 2.2 is installed on the server but the service is unable to start during the OS boot up. I have tried all the possible ways to re-install but got no luck.
So Finally got another box with solaris 10 update 9 running on Intel. Even this one is not letting me continue the installation. I was getting the below error when trying to install the VDI.
As the below error seeems to be something related to the java, i tried removing the java packages. But still unable to get the installation up and running fine.

    Thanks

I hope this thread isn't dead, because I have nearly the identical message to the previous poster and was hoping to find out how you got around the error. Any luck?

I am installing Oracle Fusion on OEL 6 and have hit a problem with weblogic. This worked for me on my TEST server a few months ago.

I am unable to launch Weblogic and discoverer_11gR1_ofm's runInstallers. The both give me the same error.
I am now at the step of installing the WLS 10.3.6 as follows:

I updated to Yosemite and now whenever I open up my IMac it says Java Runtime Environment needs to be installed and you can either select ok or details and not sure what to do about it.
