UI language is not changing
Hi all;
I have created a new ADDON using UDO. Everything working fine but the only problem is that the UI language for the addon is not changing accroding to company language instead of that is always showing in English. Please give some solution.

First of all, B1 does not automatically translate anything, you need to have (for example) a table containing the translations for your addon.
There is an app event "aet_LanguageChanged" that informs you of the language change.
The way I have seen it work before was - a global variable, relating to each language, that also relates to the language translations in your UDT. e.g. 1 for English, 2 for French, 3 for German.
When the language changed event happens, update your global variable to the new language number. Then on every form load, replace your static text with the translated value from the table for that language.
I'm sure there are other ways to achieve it, but this is just to illustrate the point that there is alot of work involved, B1 does not do it automatically.

If you don't want users to choose any other languages then the one you have defined, goto instanceconfig.xml and set the required languages between the AllowedLanguages tags. If you keep to one language the dropdown list will not appear.
This is also controlled by the language setting of your browser.And also do the above changes in the instance config files.
To change the default language on a user's login screen
In Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Internet Options.
The Internet Options dialog box appears.
Click Languages.
The Language Preference dialog box appears.
All the language which is installed languages appear in the Languages list.
By Default the language at the top of the list is used.
Modify by using the Up and Down buttons to position the desired language at the top of the list.
Restart the browser and log into Oracle BI Presentation Services.
The default language should match the language in the browser's Language list.
NOTE: If a user does not select a different language from the drop-down list on the login screen, the setting for the User Interface Language at the user's My Account screen determines the language in which the user interface is displayed.

Hi All,
I have displayed a transaction in a transaction iview. The transaction is SU3, in that when I go to default tab and change the login language and save it gets saved but I am not able to see the contents of the sap screen in that language. This is the case for both webgui and wingui. Please provide some inputs.

If I change the logon language from both portal or sap logon the value gets reflected in both but the display in sap logon is in the language selected but in case of portal its in english or if I change the browser language then it comes in that language. Kindly provide some inputs.

Os language preferences not changing system menu and windows
Hello fellow problem solvers;
I am trying to switch system preferences to French from English under X.4.3, and after log out or reboot Finder, File, Edit, View, and Go , stay in English in the finder. Applications that have localisations work fine, language inputs also have always worked.
I tried trashing preferences, even tried TinkerTool system, running a terminal command to delete the start up var files that recall the new installation program from another post on the forum.
I can't get it to work on any of the Mac's here on Tiger but it works on all on Panther.
Is this a bug, or is there something I can do to get the finder menu bar, and system windows to go back to the set system language, short of an archive and install?I did an archive , reinstall and update by software update. That worked for the three computers. I don't know why the language package didn't work any longer as I checked with Pacifist and they were installed.
The only thing that is quite bothersome is now on the old computer the cron task weekly takes 15-20 mins if ever. Something is playing with the database.
I tried permissions, empty caches, DiscWarrior etc but it still is excessively slow.
There are two X.4.3 on the same disc each on their own volume. Any ideas? -
I DO remember them but Apple chose to put them in Japanese and I can not change the language on Manage my Apple ID so I do not know if I made an error ,it threw me off , it was the wrong question Where did you fly to on your first Aiplane trip ? then I was unable to enter until 8 hours then called Apple Japan 4 times each time threy asked me would you like to speak with an English speaker,I said yes then they told me sorry today is Sunday no English speakers ,but they refused to speak Japanese, then I called 5th time and a kind guy could speak English we were on 1and 1/2 hours he got me to log in but the reset key chain could not be completed still pending.
He said do not mess with that ! then I got a text from somewhere to reset 4 pins suddenly it was very strange I said to him that I got this pin this morning but it said you can use maximum 3 hours it had a UK number and I told him I do not like this and will not enter the code he said do not do it if it is from the UK and then I said to him ok you did a lot to help but we can not go any further ! and we cut of I went back to my computer to re do the ID but I found everything a mess so I call and a stupid sounding Japanese women with a squeaky voice came on I was calm at first and they want your phone number your IMEI number your iPhone serial number date of birth Address email address it takes 10 munutes to check then they ask what are you caling about so I try to explain my keychain is broken or problems with language security questions and can not change my pasword because the security question have failed me so it is ONE BIG HEADACHE AND I START I GET STRESSED she says Do want an ENGLISH speaker ,I say yes ,that guy i talked to earlier but I never got his name and first time I ever talked to him but they said he is not here so I said ok and then she said today is sunday so call back in the morning ,I said ,well ok in Japanese but they make you feel stupid because they do not want to speak Jap@anese with none natives and they are to busy,And they feel that I should not bother them ,then I say that Apple Japan is trying to refuse Apple foreign customers and then she wants to hang up and ask me to visit the shop ,but they are the same I have a very bad time with Apple Japan since they do not discuss software problems or security with customer meaning if you have a problem they ask you to come on a time 20 minutes max so they do hardware test and say you phone is fine then I say no I can not reset my ID they say you must call call centre so I am going around in circles ,When I call English it is usually Australia so if my problem is in Japan surely if do not want me to talk to them in Japanese and they ask me to call Australia but every time my call charge is expensive after asking them is this free because I have Apple care they say yes but when the call goes to Australia 0120 277 535 it might change to paid call so I call then I have to ask is this charging they say we can not give you that information ! so what can I do I have have been at the computer and phone all day on my day off work and in tre week I am so busy and can not use my phone I can not work without it ,this new technology for you ,they can not cope with the fact that the customer have problems yet they do not want to deal with us because they can not solve it and so it shows them to be useless they like to walk around in their cool tee shirts and retro shop but when it comes to functionality we are unwelcome they got the money so do not return because apple is perfect that nothing should go wrong .
But it does somehow my English security answers do not work on a Japanese Question especialy if I did not choose that question I set up the multiple choice In English and wrote the answers in English or Roman and set them langauge preferences in English, do you really think you can correctly write english name or word in Japanese they write a police patrol car pato caa パトカア they do not have r and l .So it is my choice to make my security easy for me and as difficult for others to hack.But they also have patororoo choo meaning ' now patrolling ' so why they have pato caa patrol car and patoro patrol and have thousands of Chinese words kanji they can find patrol.
I am getting off the topic but I am at a loss to fix this problem when they hold the keys and i have all the info to verify my ID.You have to enter the Apple ID and password. You are running into the Activation Lock

My keyboard does not change language in facebook log in
I just bought MacBook Pro 15'4 I am in general new user with mac !!! My primary keyboard language is English and my secondary is Greek. When i try to log in to my facebook account i wrote my e-mail (in english of course) and my password is in greek and when i change the input source to greek does not change and greek became transparent in the language bar at the top !! I don't have an idea why cannot let me change the language only in this step to put my psw. I am using Safari and Chrome too, and is happening in both browsers too !!! In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change
For a certian Application I am using I need to change the format of the Time and Date. I had no problems in Mountain Lion. In the advanced tab of languages and Region the time and date formats will not change. I need the date format to read as 01/01/14 and time format to read 13:00. As I said this was easily done in Mountain Lion and all previous Apple OS. I suspect it's an issue with in the OS.
You're right, it has been that way for a long time. I've never bothered reporting it as a bug since it's simple enough to deal with, but reporting it would be a reasonable thing to do.

Could not change the language by menu
Could not change the browser language by menu on Safari 4 final for Windows. You could change it by changing OS settings! It's impossible. It's only browser.

Thanks for the offered solution, it's nice to find at least something, although still not ideal IMHO since to switch to some other language I shall have to do this exchange operation every time, I guess.
It happened that I have to consult newbies in the company I work, and they are located in different countries of the world, speak different languages and use different browsers - as for me, it's a little bit troublesome to change language in this manner to see how this or that item is named in menu...
I'm still waiting for Apple to make this option built-in in Safari menu, as it was before and as it is in all other known to me browsers.

OOTB ListViewWebPart title not changing as per language

The issue with this approach is that, the Web part titles no longer support MUI i.e. they do not change when the user switches the display language. Ex: The Announcements List View Web part appears with the Title “Announcements” in all the supported
languages.
How can I make the title appear as per the display language? I understand that web parts added from the onet.xml support MUI. However, I need to do this in existing site collections which were using the LimitedWebPartManager approach.hi
try to export web part, which was added programmatically, and web part added from UI, and compare 2 webpart files using files comparison tool. It may be so that there is some difference in properties which prevents web part's title be translatable.

I can not change the language to englis on my hp envy 7645
I can not change the language to English on my hp envy 7645 all in one printer. I have pushed the tools button but it does not say preferences. It only list about six foreign languages and I have no option for English
Touch/press Settings,
Touch Preferences (second row, the fitst row is sub-menu),
Touch Set Languages (second row again),
Now you can touch English

Multi Language Solution (not by use of "Translate Application")
Hi All,
I try to implement a "multi language" functionality into my APEX Application but want to avoid the "Translate Application" method.
As I'm not very keen in JavaScript and PL/SQL Coding, I need your help.
What I want to do:
I have a table tbl_lang (var varchar2(20), lang_en varchar2(50), lang_de varchar2(50), lang_fr varchar2(50)).
It contains the name of a variable "var" that shall be filled with the Item Titles in the preselected language (de, fr or en).
The language can be chosen from a select list an dependent of the chosen language I do a "select var, lang_*en* from ... " or a "select var, lang_*de* from ... " and I fill my variable with the dependent language.
Each Item on my Page has the variable set instead of a written Title.
The Title of the Item Surname is for example &P2_LANG_SURENAME. and has the Value is "Surename" or "Vorname" or "Prénom".
The Problem ist:
I don't want to define a hidden Item for each Variable.
Is it possible to read the translations from the tbe_lang and fill a bunch of variables or an array that I can use within the Apllication without binding it to a hidden Item?

I’m not sure what you mean by redeploy. The principle of the APEX translation mechanism is that you have your primary language application, which contains all your application logic. For each extra language, the APEX engine creates a language mapping application (a shadow copy as you call it) which contains a copy of your application logic and all the relevant translations to the underlying language. The translation mechanism includes a seed process which synchronize all the changes made to your primary language application (which is the only application you are working on) and also generate a XLIFF file that contains all the translatable components of your application. When you are done translating the XLIFF file, you can use the APEX translation mechanism to publish the new version and translation.
Moreover, the APEX translation mechanism also allows you to translate all the APEX engine internal messages, which you can’t do by yourself.
If by deployment you mean installing the multi-lingual application in a new APEX instance, working with the APEX translation mechanism means that you’ll need to install 3 (in your case) separate applications. The primary language application (which can also include all the supporting object) and simple import of all the other translated applications.
From my own experience I can assure you that working with the APEX translation mechanism is much much more simpler, easier and efficient than the road you want to take, not to mention the far more simple (and central) maintenance options. Your way – specific PL/SQL code for each language – can be a maintenance nightmare.
Also, bear in mind (and I believe this was your original question) that you’ll need to maintain a hidden item for every page component with a label, e.g. page items, buttons, tabs, report headers, etc. You’ll probably need to use some dynamic SQL functions otherwise you’ll have to deal with each component separately. In other words, you’re not only want to reinvent the wheel (as all of it has already been done by the development team) you are not dealing with very small and basic wheel, but something far more complicated.
From your response to my questions, I understand that you never experience the use of the APEX translation mechanism. I think you should try it. You can use apex.oracle.com for that. Develop a simple application that includes all the component types you going to use (Forms, Reports, Tabular Forms, IR etc.) and see how you can handle it all. Only then, you should decide what road to take.
As I said in my first post, what you are asking is probably doable. The question is whether you need to do it.

I test my Agentry application on my ipad, it can connect to SAP server but it then display the error:
