UIX 2.1.21: Change minimum width of a button?

Hi, how can i change the minimum width of a UIX button?
For UIX buttons the width depends on the length of the text that shall be displayed.
e.g. for "Ok" and "Cancel" (German: "Abbrechen") buttons this looks not really nice.
Any possibility to define this in the XSS or as a button attribute?
Thanks, Markus

No, I would like to set a minimum width, e.g. 2.0 cm, so that each Button is rendered at least to this width, even if the label text is that short that normally it would have a length of 1 cm.
A requirement from our UI Styleguide.

  • Can you set a minimum width?

    Is there any way to set a minimum width for any point on the image that you're producing or already produced?

    Illustrator does not hava a find the stroke with the smallest width command, so you will have to locate that manually. Suppose the line you find is 1mm thick. You would scale all your artowrk 150% with scale strokes & effects on. Then double click on scale tool and turn off scale strokes and effects and enter 66.67%
    Your result will be all your strokes will be 150% their original size.
    Now if your artwork has nto storkes, you will have to add strokes to the atrwork to fatten everythign up for silk screen.
    Also if you want to just change all your 1. mm strokes to 1.5, you can select an element with a 1.0 mm stroke, use select >> same stroke  Weight , and then change the width to 1.5mm.

  • How to set a minimum width and height for a stage or scene?

    Hello,
    Does anyone how to set a minimum width and height for a stage or scene?
    I tried listening for width/height property value changes and then adjust the width/height if necessary, but that causes unpleasant flickering of the window.
    In JavaFX 2.1 beta SDK for Mac OS, the Stage class has setMinWidth() and setMinHeight() functions which work very well.
    I'm wondering what's the equivalent way to do that when using the FX SDK for Windows.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks.

    I was wondering how to enforce a minimum stage size with JavaFX 2.0.3.The same flickering way you are currently doing it. See: http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-15200 "Need a way to set the minimum size of a window"

  • How to change the width and height of the visible part of the of the report

    I have define a report with paper size 'Letter', orientation 'landscape' and 30 columns. Dynamically I am changing width of columns and suppressing many columns of the report.
    Mostly using first 16-20 columns and others get suppressed.
    Now problem is that when navigating the report thru crystal viewer, a huge blank spaces getting display on right of the report. When we take jump to some part of report thru navigation tree, the whole report gets shifted to left and only blank part is visible and it is required to scroll left.
    Even printing is not working correctly.
    Is there any way to change the width and height of the visible part of the report in the viewer thru .net classes? Setting the width and height of the report in Load event handler doesn't help.
    Example: CrystalReportViewer1.Width = 200; - is not helping.
    Is there any other solution?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks
    Mahesh Patel

    Hi Yogesh,
    Your suggestion 'reportDocument.PrintOptions.PaperSize=PaperSize.PaperLedger;' along with 'PaperOrientation' setting as follow works fine. I tried to switch between Landscape and Portrait depending on report width.
    reportDocument.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape;
    But problem with crystal viewer remain as it is.
    While navigating report thru crystal viewer, when we take jump to some part of report thru navigation tree, the whole report gets shifted to left and it is required to scroll left.
    Thanks for your very good suggestion.

  • Is there a minimum width for folders in Finder?

    This seems like a general problem, but I will use a specific example. I have a mountable disk, which I open on the desktop. Doubleclick to open, revealing several folders, all of which are set to list view, status bar showing, path bar and tool bar hidden. Two things happen which are very annoying:
    1. I will open one of the contained folders, and another within that one. I want to adjust the widths so that I can see all three list views, with each lower level a little narrower than the previous level. In 10.6 that was easy, and always worked. In 10.9 however, I can't narrow some windows as before. I can have a given window at the width I want, but can't make a contained window even that narrow. The effect seems pretty random.
    2. Having a window open, and showing more than one header field (name, date, size, etc.), I will often move the limit of the first one (name) to the right edge of the window, as name is all I want to see. When I close the window, and open it sometime later, the headers are back to the original state, not the state I left them in. That is also random in the sense that some windows do not act that way, but for a window that does, it always happens.
    I understand that there may be an absolute minimum width in force, but in my case I can't make all windows correspond to the narrowest one I am using. I can accept any combination of bars showing and hidden, as long as all are consistent. Any ideas?

    Hi barbtastic,
    There is a way to find out where the original photo is that you have in your iPhoto Library. On this page there are iPhoto Applescripts. One of them is "show image file" I tried it and it does work for iPhoto 5. If you click on the image in your library window and then use the applescript it will open up a finder window with the image file, and you can see it's path of where it is.
    http://www.apple.com/applescript/iphoto/
    Download the scripts from the link
    Once downloaded, put the folder "iPhoto Scripts" in ~/Library/Scripts
    Now navigate to Applications/Applescript
    In that Applescript folder is an icon that says "Install Script menu"
    double click that icon to install the Script menu in your menu bar. You might have an item called ScriptMenu.menu instead. follow directions on next link
    http://www.appleclub.com.hk/applescript/script_menu/
    It will look like a little black scrolled paper.
    Or you might have an item named AppleScript Utility.app in the folder. Double click to open it and make sure you have show script menu in menu bar checked.
    Now open iPhoto, click on a photo to highlight it
    Go to the menu bar and click and hold on the Applescript icon
    scroll down to iPhoto Scripts, then scroll to "show image file"
    Wait for the Finder top open a finder window showing you where the image is.

  • How can I change the width of a column in a list of sharepoint 2010 ?

    How do I change the column width in sharepoint 2010 so the data displays properly in standard view?
    I open the list View in sharepoint designer,and change the width of the <td> ,but ,when I preview ,the column width don't change. what should I do?

    While they may auto adjust to what it thinks is a correct width, far too often it allocates way too much room and that causes lists with 4 columns to be much longer than they need to be and without the ability to adjust them, lists look strange.
    http://twitpic.com/23ro09/full is an example of the first column having been allocated too much room.

  • The finder window for an external USB hard disk suddenly started separating files by time (today, yesterday, etc.) and stopped allowing me to change column width, order, etc. Also the header bar shifted to flat white from gray.

    The finder window for an external USB hard disk suddenly started separating files by time (today, yesterday, etc.) and stopped allowing me to change column width, order, etc. Also the header bar shifted to flat white from gray.
    All was normal until the icon for the disk stopped showing up on the desktop when I would plug it in. I rebooted the computer, and the disk icon now shows up but this new look to the finder window started as a result. The hard disk does not have this problem when I use it on another Mac running Snow leopard. Also, two other external hard disks that I use on this computer running lion 7.4 still have the normal header bars with columns that can be reordered, etc.
    I have tried looking in preferences and other places but have not seen this discussed.

    Well duh - I finally figured out that somehow in the View options for the hard drive, the "arrange by" option had been changed to "by date" from "none". Not sure how that happened, I had never used the "view options" menu tem before. Changing "arrange by" back to "none" gets the gray column headers and the collapsible folder icons back.

  • How to change the width of the whole portlet layout?

    Dear all,
    As we know, now the width of portlet layout has set to 100%. But there is a new requirment from my customer that the width of the whole portlet layout view must be set to 750px.
    So I tried to edit the css file and I found a block:
    #pt-portal-content-view
         margin-top: 0px;
         width: 100%;
    I tried to change the width to 750px, but nothing happened.
    I want to know the way to change the width, thank you all!
    Regards,
    finall
    OK,I have found the place to do it:
    .portalContent          {
         display: block;
         width: 750px;
    I set to 750px,then it works.:-)
    But another question, how to make the content align to the center? I tried a stupid method, add margin-left:
    .portalContent          {
         display: block;
         width: 750px;
         margin-left: 120px;
    In 1024 X 768, it's ok, but it don't work well in 800 X 600.
    When I set the all content width to 750px, I tried the three columns view, the portlet still run over the border.If there is any way to control this? thank u in advance!
    Regards,
    finall

    Try this:
    .portalContent {
    display: block;
    width: 750px;
    margin: auto; /* for properly-implemented browsers */
    text-align: center; /* for IE 6 */
    As for running over the 750px, there's nothing you can do about that other than actually narrowing the columns AND making sure that your portlet authors don't produce content that's too wide.

  • Problem while changing the width of the Indesign document through inx.

    Hi Guys,
    I am facing a problem related to the width of InDesign documents. Description of the problem is as follows:-
    I have created an InDesign document with height = 700 and width = 500 and export this as an inx file (lets say Doc1.inx).
    As "Doc1.inx" is just an xml file I have made certain changes to the height and width fields of the dcoument in it. (Height =900 and Width = 600)
    For Height changes are made under following tags :- <docu>
                                                                                   <docp>
                                                                                     phgt = "U_900" ;
    For Width changes are made under tags :- <docu>
                                                                    <docp>
                                                                      pwdt = "U_600";
    Now when I opened the modified "Doc1.inx" file with InDesign the modifications for height are correctly reflected, but the width of the column doesn't gets changed. Please open the attachments to see the difference.
    Attachment contains the snap shots of documents created at step 1(Initial_Doc1.indd) and step 3(Modified_Doc1.indd).
    What should be the modifications we have to do in inx file to reflect the correct modified width of the document. Also is there any document or article which gives the correct understanding of the tags used in inx files.
    Any help will be appreciable.

    I'm having troubles getting any sensible values at all using CS -- on the other hand, you forgot to mention your version, so I figgered I could try.
    (Just as an example, setting width & height to 600 pt and 900 pt -- you don't mention your units of measure either, is it meters? inches? -- I get "phgt="u_408c2000~0" pwdt="u_4082c000~0"", which doesn't make sense. Cicero's!? [*])
    But further below, I can see some definitions for columns: count (colc="l_1") and some measurements in that same system, which I suspect to be the width and height you are looking for. You switch between describing you succesfully changed the width and height of the document, and complaining the column does not change. Apparently, the column width is defined in itself, rather than using the "document marges" you are used to in the interface itself.
    [*] On second look, I can see more hexadecimal digits in other 'numbers'. It must be hexadecimally encoded IEEE floating point numbers -- "408c2000" decodes to 4.378906, and 4082c000 to 4.085938 -- both valid floating point numbers, but still I wouldn't know in what system.
    I hope your version uses regular decimal notation!

  • How do you change the image size and resolution in photoshop everytime I change the width the height changes my measurements will not stay

    Can someone assist me with changing image size and resolution.  each time I change the width the height changes and vice/versa?

    There's a chain link between width and height. The point is to keep the aspect ratio the same, otherwise your picture would get stretched.
    You click on the chain-link to shut that off and you can adjust width and height separately.
    Also could you give us your version of Photoshop, what OS you are running it on (Windows 7 for example) and what exactly you want to do with your document?
    Resolution is the print term for how many pixels will be printed on an inch of paper. It doesn't apply if your image is intended for screen viewing.

  • How to change line width runtime?

    Hi,
    I want to change line width dynamically or runtime depending on certain conditions.
    I had written format trigger on line and used SRW.SET_BORDER_WIDTH but it does not work. so what is other possible solution for this?
    Thanks in advance.

    In your variable vertical elasticity frame put several fixed vertical elesticity objects (lines, frames, etc.) of different heights. In the runtime, suppress all the objects in their format triggers, but one with the height you need. The objects need to be made invisible by setting their color to white.

  • How do I change the width of the "polygon splitter" line?

    I have Ultiboard v10 with all the updates.  I have been unable to find a way to shrink the size of the line that the polygon splitter function uses.  The split seems to be stuck at 0.1 inches.  Anyone know how to change this setting?  Thanks for any help.

    When you start drawing the line that will act as the polygon splitter, make the first click where you want to start... then --before you do the second click-- go to the toolbar and look for the numeric field where you can change the mils width of the trace you are drawing... change the number there and see how the splitter line changes its width... no go back to the workspace, you still have the line drawing utility on, make the second click where you want to drop it and you should see a different width split line.
    The other method is, after you make the first click to mark the beginning of the line, continue towards the place where you would like to finish that line, however, before you do a left-click to finish the line, first do a right-click and you will have an option to widen and an option to narrow.
    I prefer the first method is more precise...

  • How do I change the width of the x-scrollbar for a waveform graph?

    I have a LV7.1 application that contains a waveform graph and must be usable on several PC with widely varying screen resolutions.  I have decided to position and scale the front panel objects programatically, including the graph itself.  The appearance of the graph is satisfactory on all screens, except for the x-scrollbar.  The width of the x-scrollbar does not change when I change the size of the graph.  I cannot figure out how to change the width of the scrollbar programatically to match the adjusted size of the graph.  Any suggestions?
    Regards,
    Chris

    Chris,
    I don't think that you can change the width of the x axis scroll bar programatically.  One thing you could do though is create your own scrollbar and change it's properties as your program runs.  I wrote a quick example of how you could do this and I've attached it to this thread.
    I hope this helps,

  • How do I change the width of column "rating"

    all columns are variable in widht. but not "rating" (stars). How do I change the width of column "rating"?

    Hi Emkaha,
    By the way the column "last played" can be reduced to a size which display the date "incorrect" as well (you'll see only the first number of the date which wouldn't make any sense too, but it is possible).
    True, but if you see date of "1" you will know you are not seeing a full date.  If you see 2 stars, it is a valid value, even if it is not correct.  At least, that is my supposition about why it is designed the way it is.
    Having said that, the extra width in the German version -- the Wertung column is wider than needed for 5 stars -- does seem odd.  In the English version for Windows PC, the Rating width is just enough for 5 stars.  You can report this to Apple via the iTunes Feedback page.
