Ultrabase vs docking station for X220

I have a lenovo thinkpad x220. I want to be able to use a docking station with the monitor down on the laptop. My end goal is to use a monitor with the tinkpad in a docking station and then use the usb ports to connect a full size keyboard and mouse with my 23" monitor. all this while the laptop screen is down.
can i do this with the Ultrabase Item model number: 0A33932? it is less expensive than the Docking station.

no they are not inter compatible.
X220 uses Ultrabase series 3, or Series 3 dock.
The X61 uses X6 ultrabase that were only compatible with X60s, X60, X61s, X61 machines.

I just bought a docking station for my iPad so I could plug into a mixing board and record a live show. I was disappointed at the time limitation for the recordings. What is the maximum amount you can record a song into GB for the iPad?

I purchased a docking station for my iPad so that I could record a live recording of my band directly from a mixing board this weekend using GarageBand. Unfortunately, I was unaware of the song length limitations of the iPad version of this program. Basically, was unable to capture more than 15 minutes of the gig. I've read other conversations on this forum and can't really determine the maximum amount of time this application can record. Can anyone tell me how long GarageBand for ipad can record at one single time and how to adjust the settings to achieve this? Also, is anyone aware of any other apps than could be used to record a longer please share. Thanks.

I received an email reply from George, the Founder and CEO of Studiomini, he indicated to me that their app does not have any time limitations in regards to recording like GB does, you are only limited by the amount of free space on your iPad. Fo what it's worth, I think the Alesis IO Dock is an amazing piece of equipment. I would highly recommend purchasing the IO Dock and plugging your mixing board into the dock to capture your rehearsal. Hopefully the feedback I received from Studiomini is accurate and I can capture my entire rehearsal at one time. I hope this feedback helps. One last note, apparently their will be a update soon to view Studiomni in the landscape view on the iPad instead of just the portrait view.

Syncing Classic with USB killed docking station for my Nano

I have two libraries in Itunes, one for music and one for books. I use my Nano for music. After I organized a second library for books, I bought a Classic. It uses a USB cable. After my first hookup of the Classic, syncing the book library. The firewire docking station for my Nano no longer will connect that Ipod to Itunes. I can charge, but not sync. Is this a new feature from Apple or does Itune now only recognize Ipod thru the USB port? I can sync the Nano with USB, but I like the docking station

I do not think that your USB docking station is faulty. I use it all the time.
What killed my ipods (resulting in exactly your problem) was the update to firmware 1.1.2. I am on my fifth !! ipod classic (courtesy of technical support/ genius bar at the apple store) as they are not as solid as the older models and
may go wrong quicker, despite much more enhanced functions. Touch wood mine is working fine now.
In the mean time, you could try a hard/factory reset of your ipod:

Looking for competent docking station for iPhone 3GS

I'm having a terrible time finding a good docking station for my new iPhone 3GS. Before I bought it I used a 5th generation iPod 60GB. I have a belkin usb hub/dock for it that works great. When my computer is off it charges the iPod, and it's a powered usb hub as well. Occasionally I would plug in an AV cable to watch content I purchased from iTunes on my TV.
I'm now trying to find a dock with equivalent or better abilities for the iPhone 3GS, and I'm coming up empty. Here's what I need in order of importance:
1. *Plug into AC and charge iPhone when Mac is off, while still being connected via USB so that it will sync automatically when Mac is on.*
2. Pass through dock connector to another dock connector on back so that I can connect Apple composite cables to TV, via the dock.
3. Powered USB hub with 2 or more usb ports.
4. A media card reader would be a really nice plus and make it perfect.
The closest I've found is the Griffin Simplifi, however the FAQ for it on their website states this:
"Will the Simplifi charge my iPod or iPhone while my computer's powered off or asleep?
Even though the Simplifi has its own power supply, your iPod or iPhone requires an active USB connection to charge. This means that the Simplifi will not charge your device if your computer is powered off or asleep."
I'm pretty sure their explanation is technically inaccurate, and simply a way of trying to shift the blame for their stupidity on to Apple. Nevertheless it makes this dock utterly useless (see item 1 above).
Is there any way to accomplish what I need, or is it hopeless?

Costco was, and may still be selling, the iHome Model iD95.... I think this model is only carried by Costco. Other retailers such as Amazon.com sell the iHome iD83 App-Enhanced 30-pin iPod/iPhone/iPad Alarm Clock Speaker Dock. See the description of this model at Amazon.com. Both my model and the one on Amazon.com are described as a HOME SYSTEM for your iPad. It has a dock on the top of the AM-FM Radio which will accommodate either an iPad, iPod or iPhone (up to model 4s). If you have an iPhone5 or newest iPad, you can get a "30 pin to lightning" adapter to accommodate. I just got an iPhone 5, and ordered the "30 pin to Lightning" adapter, so that I can once again use my iPhone on the dock. It has 2 alarms, and numerous other features, including a battery backup, digital display, it charges your iPad/iPod/iPhone, and it has pretty darn good stereo speakers. It's easy to adjust the base and treble. Price when I bought it in September, was $79.95 and there was a $20 coupon. It is easy to program music or Pandora from an iPhone/iPod/iPad, and can even program for music or Pandora before going to sleep and shuts itself off at a specified time, and then can turn on the radio or an alarm, or music or Pandora at a specified time in the morning. Most commercial Docks are still only compatible with the 30 pin connector.
For newer devices such as the iPAd 4 and mini and the iPhone 5, some manufacturers are putting out a few docks but there are limited.Once such dock is the JBL OnBeat Micro.

Universal docking station for Lenovo T430 and X201

Hello,
I'm looking for a universal docking station for both my T430 en my X201 laptop.
It has to have a minimum of 2 usb ports + a HDMI exit to connect to my TV. A displayport (normal or mini) is also ok.

You would need usb port replicator options, but do note that these devices require usb 3.0 ports. So for your X201 you may need need to get an expresscard usb 3.0 adapter.

Docking station for iPhone?

I've been trying to find one, but I can't. Regular docking stations for iPods don't work. Any advice?

You should look for one that is certified for use with the iphone.(I don't think there are any currently.) The reason is that some of those devices will put out too much voltage, and potentially cause damage to the iphone.
If you choose to get one that is not certified for use with the iphone, you will get a prompt asking if you want to put it in airplane mode. Doing so will eliminate the signal noise from the phone, but will not allow you to make/recieve phone calls while it is connected.
You can choose to ignore the message if you choose...

i have a dv6-1211ax laptop and planning to get a hp expansion port 3 based docking station for home use ... can anyone suggest or comment on how they really perform ..

I have a pair of HP XB4 Notebook Media Docking Stations being used on two DV7s. I think they work quite well, unlike the current docking stations they use the expansion port 3 and you can power both the laptop and the docking stations from a single power supply. Speaker sound especially subwoofer is much better than the laptops (these are 2009 and 2010 model DV7s so they have the Altec Lansing speakers (as does the docking station) vs. the 2011 laptop Beats Audio.
I also like the way the docking station raises the laptop 6-8 inches above desk level.
Do make sure your system is using the expansion port 3 though since at least some of the 2011 systems no longer have the expansion port (the connection from the station to the laptop is via USB 2.0 hopefully at some time the new docking stations will be updated to use USB 3.0) along with the laptops.
For a laptop that is being used a Desktop replacement I would highly recommend the XB4
p.s since HP doesn't sell them anymore you may have to go to Ebay, Amazon or a wholeseller)

Anybody know where I can get a docking station for a Pavilion ZV5000? The quickdock doesn't state it would work on the ZV models.

The dv5000 has a side docking port and uses the big ES234AA#ABA docking station. Here it is on ebay but you can do way better than this price if you look around a bit:

As far as I know there is no custom-designed docking station for the G780. Instead, consider a port replicator like Lenovo USB 3.0 Port Replicator. It connects to your G780 using a single USB port so it's almost as convenient as a docking station.

Has anyone experience with docking stations for Toshiba Tablets? Does the "Toshiba Multi Dock with HDMI (for Toshiba Thrive Tablet) Part.-No. PA3934U-1PRP works with Exite Tablets especially with the german AT270-101?

The Toshiba Docking station PA3934U-1PRP seems to be compatible only with the Toshiba 10" Thrive Tablet Series
As far as I know there is no special docking station which is released especially for the Excite tablets series.
