UMobility 4.2.0 on iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 3GS

Though uMobility 4.2.0 suppose to work on iOS5, not happening at first work.
Initially using deafault set up, in an environment with 1 access point will make it through 1 or 2 calls then drop calls and have to reset. Toshiba server currently running on uMobility4. In office with 2 access points, no go. Can not make it through one hand off between access point without either loosing the ability to transmit though receiving fine or just drop call but appear to be connected by the App.
Currently have found if I change Keep Alive Type from its default of CRLF (I assume carriage return, line feed?) to SIP option and reduce Keep Alive Time (sec) to 5 sec from default of 30 sec then I have a greater chance of maintaining functionality of using this wonderful App, at least for internal calls. Once start bring transferred External calls, can only handle 1 to 2 then calls come through cellular instead of Wi-Fi. I assume Toshiba and Varaha are working on an upgrade to the uMobility Server and I assume another upgrade on uMobility App.

Hi,
Please contact Toshiba or Varaha support and we will work with you to see what configuration needs to be adjusted.
Although the description points to some incompatibility between iOS device (eg. iPhone) and your Wi-Fi infrastructure, we can assist to rectify the situation through a work around or guide you to work with your Wi-Fi manufacturer.
We also hope that the new iOS 5.0.1 may help in this direction.
Thank you again for your interest in uMobility and feedback.
As always, we standby our customers to get you up and running as quickly as possible.

Have you tried doing turning the battery level display off and then General -> "Reset all settings"? You won't loose any data and that should do the trick.

How do I install the iOS 4.3 on my iPhone 3GS ? I've tried direct links but they it says safari cannot install this ? Please help !

You can not install anything but the current version of iOS. If you have a 3Gs, then you can install 6.0.1 by plugging it into your computer running iTunes (10.7 or higher).  If you have a 3G, 4.2.1 is the end of the line.

  • How to install ios 5.1.1 on iphone 3gs

how to install original ios 5.1.1 on iphone 3gs

You don't. The only iOS version that can be installed on that phone, at present, is iOS 6.0.1.

The latest iOS avialable for the iPhone 3G is 6.1.3.  7.0.4 requires an iPhone 4 or later.
To update your 3GS to 6.1.3, use iTunes.  See this:

  • Battery Drain after iOS 6 Update on my iPhone 3GS -16G

My iPhone 3GS 16G on iOS 6 after update.
2 - 3 hours it's flat & thats from a full 100% (over night) charged phone with no use
& then keeps switching on & off for 20mins or so in charge mode after it's been pluged in to the charger.
Never had a problem on the old iOS 5.1.1 got up to 2 Days on standby .
Never had a problem with my phone ever until the new iOS 6 install.
... GET IT SORTED APPLE PLEASE A.S.A.P

Got onto Apple Teckies yesterday & spent about 1.5 hours on the phone with a very helpfull bloke
    that went through everything.
At this stage my phone has been reinstalled with iOS 6 as a New Phone (Like a test mode) so NONE
of my APP's or Settings only my Contacts from iCloud (As a New phone would come out of the box).
... From the time we finished uploading the iOS 6 softwear untill now my phone has only used 40%

If this works I then have to conect my phone with my iTunes & Reinstall from my Back Up to get all
    My App's & Settings back.
... Then we will see if it has worked.
... Will let you all know what happens in the next 48 Hours.

  • Did an upgrade to iOS 5.1 fix the iPhone 3Gs 'randon shut off' issue?

I got an iPhone 3Gs some 3 months back & and it was working fine on iOS 5.0.1 for soem time. Then suddenly it started shutting off at 40% battery.
It kept doing it almsot evey time it reached 40%. Then I did a restore and all. The phone worked fine for a while but the problem started again.
This time it shuts off at any battery level below 80%. iOS 5.1 is out but I am not sure if I want to upgrade now. And downgrade isn't anything I want to do.
After reading a lot around blogs and forums, I found some ifixit battery replacement. I don't know if it's going to work but still I'll ask. WIll the battery change work, as my phone isn't that old. Just 3 months. Shut offs driving me mad. Need help.

The only solution I could find was to change the battery.  It seems that iOS5 will make your battery issues known if your battery is near the end of it's life.  My phone would shut off several times a day.
If you're bold enough and don't mind ripping open your phone, I ordered one off of Ebay for $5 and it had every tool I needed in it.  Also the detailed instructions can be found on ifixit.com.  Works like a charm now, I haven't had any issues at all.
Feel free to contact me for any questions if you plan on changing your battery.

  • IOS 5 sound glitches on iPhone 3GS

Since I've upgraded to iOS 5 on my iPhone 3GS, I've been having some sound glitches whene listening to music.
Sometimes, when the song starts, I get a glitch (some kind 1 sec skip) which is really annoying. Are the notifications hard to process?
I don't have anything running on the phone persay. No bluetooth, mail checks every 15 minutes but doesn't seem to be checking when this happens.
What I find weird is, that it didn't do that before. I even tried rebooting the device, I started a song and the glitch came right back.
Something came to my attention, can the artwork of that song be tobig so the iPhone has a hard time loading a particular long?
If you experience samthing please post, if you have an answer please post alos.
    Thank you!

Yes I have the same issue. Just noticed it. It seems to happen with me after I have paused the track and the phone has locked it's self and then I go to restart the track and I get this glitch within the first 10-15secs of playback.
Pretty annoying and sure it did not do this before upgrading to iOS 5.

  • Ios 5.0.1 with iphone 3GS shuts automatically down

    Hej there!
I'm using ios 5.0.1 with my iPhone 3 GS. Since I updatet from iOS 5 my Phone automatically shuts down very often. There is only a black screen and I can't start the Phone with pushing the home button. I always have to wire the phone and boot the phone.
Does anybody have the same problems?!

OK.........Finally I found the solution for sim problem with update 5.0.1 and the solution for fixing the iphone 3gs keeps rebooting or keeps restarting after 3-2 minutes?
for fixing the sim issues with update 5.0.1 or the rebooting problem do the following:
    Take the     sim out
enable     the 3G and cellular  date in network     setting
    than     insert the sim back
the     netwok will register your sim via 3G not GSM
than after     3 minutes turn off 3G and cellular  data
congratulation………your problem had been solved?...Im not an expert…butits seems this update 5.0.1…is not suitable for 3GS phones as they have ( special tapfro turning 3g on and off)this update is suitable  for iphone 4?which enable automatically 3G.
Theapple should have warn all 3GS phone about that ………not waiting some one notexpert like me to solve it out?
Anyway……………have a nice day every one

  • HT4972 Can IOS 5 run on an iPhone 3GS 16GB?

    Hello iPhone Gurus:
I have an iPhone 3GS 16GB model MB048LL that I picked up from my sister that I want to reset with the latest IOS for my son's use.  Presently the phone has version 4.2.1 (8C148) installed.  When I connect the phone to iTunes 10.6.1.7 on my Windows XP laptop, and press the "check for update" button in the phone summary page, I receive the pop-up "The version of the iPhone sofware (4.2.1) is the current version."  It seems like there's no way to force an upgrade to IOS 5.1.1.
I'm a bit confused by this as the Apple website it indicates that 5.x is available for the 3GS.   Also, when I connect my 4S and my other son's GGS 32GB phone, both shows IOS 5.1.1.
Any ideas?  Is there an issue with the model and/or the amount of memory that precludes using IOS 5 on this 3GS?
    Thanks,
    Drew

MB048LL appears to be an iPhone 3G, not a 3GS. Check the model number on the back of the iPhone; if it's A1241, then it is indeed an iPhone 3G. iOS 4.2.1 is the final version of iOS that the iPhone 3G can run.
    Regards.

  • Problem with 3G network after ios 6.1 upgrade on iphone 3Gs.

I have a iphone 3Gs and not a 5 or 4 and since my ios 6.1 upgrade it's a nightmare for me.  I meet a lot of reliability issue with the 3G network. Before the 6.1 upgrade it worked fine. My carrier provider is SFR. It seems to be a "bug" only with 3G. Maybe it's the same as 4Gs but not corrected for 3Gs.
By example I'm using my iphone to join a Free Number to join a confcall system and everytime after sometimes 3 minutes or 15 minutes I'm automatically disconnected - nobody is hearing me and I have to switch off and to reconnect.  Others collegue working with me having a iphone 3Gs meet the same issue as me with 3G network.
Do you plan to release the 6.1.1 version for iphone 3Gs ? if yes ? when ?

After testing workaround to disable WIFI when I'm using 3G network. It worked for 1 confcall during 1 hour !! but for the second confcall the duration was only 6 minutes and the network was cut !!! the workaround doesn't work !.
I'm surprise because I don't find similar issue on Internet with "Reliability of 3G on iphone 3Gs after ios 6.1 upgrade!!".
This morning during a call this message appears "Could not activate cellular data network".
Are you in the same case as me ? Do you have a workarounf for me ?

  • IOS 4.1 killed my Iphone 3Gs!!??

:'( I bought two Iphone 3Gs(unlocked) a few month ago, one for me and the other for my GF, we have always been using 3.1.3 firmware and had NO problems. After seeing others have upgraded to the new 4.1 system, we decided to give it a try...then nightmare happedned, one of the phones is now successfully on the 4.1 system, the other one failed!!!!
    The failing one's problem:
    1) on Itunes it's stuck on "restoring Iphone software" with the status bar just going a little further from the start.
2)on Iphone, there's the white apple logo in the middle and a status bar stuck in there, haven't moved at all!!
    I have tried:
    1) waiting for more than 24 hours, and the thing is still stuck there
2)Tried on many PCs, OS used: Win7 x64, Win7 X86, Win XP..and so on...and the restoration will not go anywhere further!!
3)Newest version of Itunes, even tried the older ones
    4)plugged all the USBs
5)Re-installed my operation system(the clean operating system, No security software installed)
6)Opened all the possible services for Apple...
So now What must I do???!!!!!!!
    Thanks for any tips..

My question is, how would it be like that when we trying to update from Apple's official firmware??!! and can we trust Apple's new release in the future??!
Stuff happens. You cannot account for every scenario that will happen when upgrading software/firmware. It is possible that a file got corrupted or that the ipsw file for the update is corrupted. I doubt you have a corrupted update file as you've tried this on multiple computers, but stranger things have happened.
Every update for EVERY software company has issues. Nothing is perfect.
You can trust Apple's updates to work with their equipment. Of course, you always have the choice of sticking with your current version and never upgrading.
I really don't see why you're so perplexed or concerned about this. One device updated without any issues, the other had an issue. There are millions of iPhone users that have upgraded to newer versions of iOS without any problems. Visit your local Genius bar to get the issue resolved and move on.
