I have a satellite P855-S5312 - has been working fine then when I turned it on the other day I get a gray screen with Enter Password. No password I have ever used works. Any ideas help?

if you contact Toshiba at (800) 457-7777, they should be able to help. They will most likely need some sort of proof that you own the system.

Downloaded Yosemite two days ago; now we can't log back on to our computer. We've reset username and password and are still unable to use the computer.

We've had our Mac for 8 years, with so so satisfaction. Two days ago we downloaded the latest version of Yosemite, and now we are unable to access our computer. Right after the download, it was working fine--it was when we shut it down for the nigh and then tried to boot it up again that we ran into trouble. We can't get past the log-in screen since our username and password no longer work. We tried resetting both, but still nothing. We've used the same username and password since we got the computer, and we've NEVER had trouble with it. Now we can't even use the Mac at all, and I don't know how to troubleshoot it since there are no options on the log in page.

You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before.

It's true. I was loaded down like a mule, approaching my car, needing a free hand, and thinking "I'll just set this on the roof for a moment..."
I drove about 1/2 mile and turned left into rush-hour traffic. No sound, no horns, no frantic hand gestures from fellow drivers, and no sinking feeling whatsoever for several minutes. Had five more minutes passed, there'd have been nothing larger than a grain-of-sand-sized evidence that my computer had once existed. For the next 30 minutes, I dodged many hundreds of cars in my firm commitment to gather every last one of the 2,653 pieces that I would need for a successful reassembling.
At some point during my repair attempt, I noted that I was unable to access my previously purchased copies of Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10.
And since Dell.com's record of this purchase was apparently destroyed that day as well, I'm at a loss. Unless... "Ok, maybe I actually registered this purchase at Adobe.com... But that would be weird as I never do such things in the name of maintaining privacy at every chance I encounter... When the only proof of purchase I can present is my promise that I did once purchase, is it possible for me to download these two programs without having to re-purchase?

If you have given correct info about you ios 6.1.3 - all you need to do is delete account. You will be able to sign in with new one afterwards. Make sure you don't delete any info when you see those prompts.

From what I understand is that the device will show up in iTunes but it will not allow you to synchronize media over to the device even after you reset the device. When you say you reset the device, do you mean you restored the device in iTunes? What error message you are getting when attempting to synchronize media?

I was unable to access migrate assistant to reinstall my hard drive. I didn't know if it would work but I used the time machine restore button that opens up in the space movie. The computer said it would download it to "Volumes". Now I can't find it.

The system accepted it and said it would intall in in "volumes". I was unable to figure out what that meant but I went a head a tried it. The download took four hours and then puff it was gone and so was my data. I can't find the back up anywhere. The only thing I think it might be is that I had named the hard drive a different name than the original (don't ask me why). Have any ideas?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

From your statements above, it sounds like you never tried to burn a CD for at least the first year that you owned the laptop, as it had a one year warranty on it. While you might have used it frequently to install software, play DVDs, Blu-Ray disks, etc, that's unclear from your statements. Nonetheless, it might just be dirty-dusty. So, before deleting-uninstalling any software, and given they're cheap, try a CD-DVD Cleaner Disk first and see if that resolves your problems.

I use Windows XP, Firefox, AVAST firewall (free). As of a month or more ago, I have been unable to see followers on my blog. There is a gadget button, but no followers listed. I am unable to access followers, though I know how many followers I have and when another follower has joined.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

Unable to access a windows 7 Workstation via RDP

I have a windows 7 Pro SP1 workstation that I’m unable to access from any other machine via RDP...
This is a domain environment.
The machine in question is 100% up to date. (WSUS)
It's running an up-to-date anti-virus solution and has been scanned. (Panda cloud) (No firewall)
This is on a local network, no router involved.
Can ping the machine, can see network shares.
Checked that it's listening on the correct port.
Necessary services are running and are starting correctly.
Configured RDP correctly and tried different configurations (with and without NLA and adding/removing users)
This machine seems to be able to RDP into other machines, it just wont accept any sessions.
Assigning the necessary exclusions in firewall - no effect
Firewall is disabled by GPO and I have stopped the service - no effect.
Deleted the computer certificate - no effect.
uninstalled the RDP 8 update - no effect
Tried using both the IP and hostname - no difference
I'm completely out of ideas, no other machine I tested with is having this issue and all the domain machines are running same AV and same GPO's are applied.
Re-installation is not an option.
Below is the error - very unhelpful.

I installed OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 and have been unable to access my photos on iPhoto - in fact, I have been unable to even get iPhoto to open. I read that I should download iPhoto 9.6.1 but have been unable to even find it. There was a suggestion about going to users and groups and creating a new user, then trying to go to applications, purchases, and clicking on "update" - that did not work. Help.

On OS X Yosemite 10.10.3, Photos for OS X has replaced iPhoto in terms of your main Photo application.
While iPhoto is still technically on your computer, it is not available as a separate download from the Mac App Store anymore, unless it is under your Purchased Tab in the Mac App Store
You can import your iPhoto Library to Photos and all events (iPhoto Events), albums, etc. etc. will be the same.
