Unable to add visual composer UI to a BPM task in CE 7.2.

Hello
I am using CE 7.2 trial version. I am not able to add a visual composer UI component to a task (BPM task). Can any body explain how to do?
I have created the visual composer component and deployed in the server. It is working fine independently.
Created the Process dc and added the VC DC in the public part.
Created the task and selected Unified UI import wizard, and selected UI technology as visual composer, but it is not listing any ui components.
Can anybody suggest the correct method to do.

Hi Sajith,
I can assume that you are using the start event either to initialise some values in your VC or
maybe you are using the start event with all bank values just as a pre-requisite to integrate BPM with VC.
The end event will expect a return value at the end of the VC activity. Since you are using a BPM the VC application will be displayed in the Task of the user's UWL. How do you manage the response of the end event here?
I think you are using the response of end activity to go ahead with your BPM process. Please confirm and share your thoughts.

Unable to create visual composer table view from the Bex Query

I am trying to create the visual composer lay out from a Bex query. The Bex query contains a set of Key figures and a structure.
These key figure and structure combination is forming a table in the query output. Key figure parameters are coming as rows and Structure parameters are coming as columns.
example query out put:
Total, HPC, FDS excel ICe etc are as Structure elements and coming as columns in query out put and
Invoice value, Gross sale value, Efficient operations etc are as Key figure elements in query and coming as rows in query out put.
But if I map this query to visual composer table view all these are coming as columns as given below.
Total Invoice value , Total Gross sale value, Total Efficient operations, HPC Invoice vale,.........
And if execute the query will giving the out put in single row.
Can anybody help me out to map this in the row column format?
Is it really possible to do in VC?
I am using CE 7.2. The VC model I need to be embedding in BPM.
Please help me to solve this issue. I completely stuck up this issue.

Hi,
Try to use some function module which will convert query data into flat tables. (eg., RS_VC_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA_FLAT).

How to add Visual Composer to CE 7.1 trial

Hi,
after having installed CE 7.1 (english, Windows OS) and assigning VisualComposerUser role to my admin, i tried to have a look at the visual composer http://hostName:50000/VC
Problem is: only an empty page is displayed - grmph! After searching SDN i noticed, that Guided Procedures and Visual Composer (from my point of view the most interesting parts) are not included in download.
Any idea on how to get these CE packages for preview?

BPM TOOL, what is Visual Composer Vs any other BPM Tool

Could you please share information regarding using a modeling tool to author business process [as-is/to-be]
ours is new implemantation and we already own sap business suite software, and our implementation /configuration Team is considering of using a bpm tool to do capture the processes.
my question is what leverage can we take of Visual Composer ? when compared with other BPM Tool.

If you have license for SAP Suite, then there is lot of things you can leverage with VC than it being useless if otherwise.
1. You can combine the output from the quick design and code free modeling environment of Visual Composer with the output from a full coding environment like Web Dynpro ABAP or BSP? Actually you can do just such a thing thanks to Portal Eventing. You can trigger event from VC. Yes, you can combine ABAP and VC
2. You can extend Visual Composer through Web Services
3. You can do an MDM integration in VC - combining data from varied sources
4. You can build a Web Services Based Visual Composer Application. Visual Composer has the capability to easily link to and consume a web service from within the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer storyboard.
Also, if you are using BSP, these applications can be linked into a Visual Composer application. The linking is done via portal eventing. Linking these two technologies into a single application with receiving and parsing the Visual Composer event string from within ABAP.
5. SAP has released 300+ Enterprise Services and there are many ways to consume these. A BPX can use Visual Composer and the Composite Application Framework (CAF) to consume SAP Enterprise Services using MDD - Model drived development.
6. Reporting data is provided as DataSources to VC and you use the VC BI Kit to display the data.
Discovering BPM DataSources in Visual Composer:
3. Choose: View -> Task Panel -> Search to search for BPM DataSources. The Search dialog appears.
4. From the Select provider dropdown menu, select BI Data Sources.
5. From the System destination dropdown menu, select BI (Sql) Portal.
...but per my understanding, in order to be able to select "BI Data Sources", because all BPM Data Sources can be accessed from this choice only, you need to have BW, and you need to configure the connection between your BPM and BW??
Also, your own custom BPM Data Sources can be created only with the "Reporting Activity" in NWDS, Process Development perspective??

Unable to connect to BI System from Visual Composer

Hie there,
I am unable to connect to my BI system from Visual Composer
The error message which I obtain upon clicking on 'Find Data' and selecting one of the many Systems list are as follows :-
Error - 30014 Search returned an erro Failed to conect to backend system. Check your system defination and user priveleges.
Please advice how can I add a BI System to this Visual Composer
p/s: I`m new to portal environment, hence please excuse my rudimentary question

Unable to consume Enterprise services from Visual Composer

Hi,
We have implemented ECC-SE 603 add-on in our ECC 6.0 system.
We configured to set up a connection between our J2EE engine and the ES Workplace, to consume the Enterprise services from Visual Composer.
But, we are unable to see the Enterprise Services in the Visual Composer.
Kindly, let us know how to resolve this issue.

Flex Table Add Row Issue with Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer

All,
Your help would be kindly appreciated in resolving an 'Add Row'-issue within a Flex Table that uses Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer. The issue here is as follows :
When I use a [Local Dynamic Entry List |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=O5hrG2aMxWZ84Mu1211193041]to populate a row field, the initial row and all next rows are emptied upon 'insert row', they loose their selected values and also the entry list values ('pull-down menus') are lost. The initial row does [show the entry list values |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=2HybmEHAuQYs9cg1211192766]from the Local Dynamic Entry List based on the dynamically assigned input value; upon 'insert row' the entry lists are lost. Hi,
you should be able to assign a dynamic value with global entry lists as well. If you say @myParam as dynamic value. VC will indicate in red letters, that the field @myParam is unknown. However, it will work, as long as @myParam is known in the form or table where you use the entry list.
I have never heard of the problem that entry lists are emptied after "insert"-event.

             Currently we are working with Visual Composer. Our
scenario is like we have developed 3 Iviews in one page. we
could be able to get result also.
                    But our scenario is like whatever the values we
give in First Iview, those same values we should also get in
second and third Iview.
                  For Example we have plant and vendor, If we give
or submit some values in First application, those values
should also come as in second Iview.
                 we are getting result for First Iview and second and even third also If you run Individually. But whatever the values we give in First Iview, those are not taking in second Iview as default values.
                  What we have tried is 1) we have considered URL(Hyper Link Option)

In the same way we have tried the same by following the document "Drilldowns in VCModels" 17th page "DRILLDOWN TECHNIQUE#5: Chart or Table > any parameterized URL " i.e https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b0127853-23a2-2910-30ad-c1873643c504
for our requirement.
As you know our requirement was to pass the parameters of first iview.So in the first iview we have used in a button hyperlink action in which we have given the second models URL prefixed the following parameter string .

If i give this above one in 1st iview,it is not getting compiled.So we have encoded to

Unable to acess BW Querrys in Visual Composer

I created a new system in portal slecting "sap system using dedicated application server" and filled up all the required details and gave the system type as "SAP_BW".created a System Aliases and did the user mapping.
But In Visual Composer after selecting "Find Data" and selecting the System,when i am looking for a Querry it is giving error as
"Error-30014 Search Returned an error cannot retrieve BEx open dialog:null".
So please suggest me what should i do to connect to
SAP-BW in visual composer.

Error while making iview with visual composer

I am trying to make an iview usign visual composer.
In the document that i have for making the iview , it says that when you have the bapi list you need to drag and drop the bapi to the empty iview pane . When i do so it gives me the following error ...
"Portal request failed
(com/sap/mdi/ObjectFactory)"
What do i do ?

I tried to do so research on the problem and it is being talked about in a thread on the forum . They ask to refer to the sap note 765461 to resolve the mdi reference . In the note they ask you to refer the installation guide of the installed version of EP . I have EP 6.0 SP2 . The installation guide says the following ...
7.1.2 Adding References
To enable some of the features in the portal environment, add references to reference file.
To add a reference:
1. With a text editor, open the file:
Windows: <installation drive>:\usr\sap\<SAP J2EE instance name>\j2ee\<instance
number>\cluster\state\services\file\work\managers\reference.txt
Unix: /usr/sap/<SAP J2EE instance name>/j2ee/j2ee_<instance number>/
cluster/state/services/file/work/managers/reference.txt
2. Look for the line:
reference service:eisconnector library:jco
3. After the line mentioned in previous step, add the following in a new line:

I did the same ....but now my server is not starting . By chance i didn't keep a bakup of the file which they asked me to delete .
Now what do i do ?
I think i am stuck up badly here .

Deepak,
It is not that bad. By deleting you are recreating that managers.bin file during startup based on the reference.txt and library.txt (recollecting from my memory). This could also happen if there is a typo or some special characters in the reference.txt
I don't know what J2EE patch you are at, but after PL22 you can actually add the reference using the "add reference" command from the administrator console.
could you please send the error you are getting? To revert back the simplest thing is removing the line you have added and restart.

I am using J2EE engine 6.20 SP2 .I tried to get the server started by the following two methods
1) I removed my entry in the reference.txt file and then start the engine by running go.bat from the required path .
2) I got the original file managers.bin which i deleted and then placed in the required path and restarted the server
Both the options didn't work .
I am not getting any error when i restart the server. When i run the batch file go.bat it starts the console and shows me the various managers loading . After it shows the Clustermanager loading , it stops and gets stuck .
Not sure what should i do now .Is reinstallation the only solution ?
Is there a solution from the administrator console ?

No you don't need to re-install. Try the following.
1. First start the state controller by runing go.bat in the following directory.
/usr/sap/xxx/j2ee/cluster/state/go.bat
You get the message waiting for cluster manager.
2. start the server in a different window
/usr/sap/xxx/j2ee/cluster/server/go.bat
You get the message waiting for cluster manager
3. Start the dispatcher
/usr/sap/xxx/j2ee/cluster/dispatcher/go.bat
Please let me the know the error messages.

I tried to do what venkat suggested . Infact I had mailed him the snapshot of the screen when i start the state controller as he suggested . For other people in the forum this is what is happening . When i start the state controller it displays an error and then the window closes immediately . I have managed the screen shots somehow and in those i could find two messeges in the begining and the end which could be useful for debugging the problem ...they are
1) [DBMS]: ID3004:DB file header do not match exception .
com.inqmy.services.dbms.server.interfaces.DatabaseException: Error while opening database ...
2) ID000544: Error statrting service dbms. DBMS service not started properly due to: Errro while opening database
[Framework -> criticalShutdown] Service dbms startup error !
After the state controller window closes i run the server in a different window and i get a message waiting for the cluster manager as suggested . Now i start the dispatcher and i get the same messege there as well ie waiting for the cluster manager .
What is to be done now . Is this information sufficient to suggest me something ? Please let me know if you require any other information .

Create a Table in Visual Composer 7.0

Is there a way to create a custom table, as part of the model, where you can define some custom fileds, then have users add, delete or update those table fields from a form? Similar to how you would use MS Access?

Hi John,
You can add, delete or update the table entries from a form using system actions in visual composer. But you should create a form manually and also need to make buttons with system actions addrow, deleterow etc,. to set the system actions.
