Unable to boot the sytem after applying kernel patch 118844-27

We have an hp ProLiant DL380 Storage server connected to HP StorageWorks Moduler Smart Array 30 via SCSI. Solaris 03/05 was installed previously on this system with kernel 118844-20. When I queried and installed all required patches with 'smpatch add -i .. ' command, all patches applied and the system is rebooted. After reboot, the system kept restarting. I followed the instructions on Sun Alert document 102087, and installed grub using 01/06 1st CDROM. It installed successfully, but problem persisted. The systems started booting, but before printing 'Configuring devices' the system rebooted again. Providing -v option to the kernel, it lastly printed a PCI device id (/pci@....) and after 2-3 seconds rebooted again.
Finally I had to reinstall the solaris (this time 01/06). The disk was accessible after booting with CD ROM, and I was able to get cylinder numbers of disk, and I installed the new system to the root partition of the other live upgrade environment. The boot disk was partitioned under linux, it was three partitions, Solaris2 (50GB),Solaris(4GB),Linux(18GB). Installation medium told that the fdisk partition was invalid, and i repartitioned the whole disk again.
System up and running Solaris 10 01/06 now, but the strange thing is that, previously hard disk (both boot disk and disks on array) locations were identified as '/dev/rdsk/c0tx' but now, the system sees that hard disks at '/dev/c1tx' and CDROM at '/dev/c0t0'.
Now I want to ask tow questions:
* Could this disk number change made the system unbootable previously?
* May I safely apply patch 118844-28 to the system

As you said above, yes, I did find OC4J config issue & EM Config issue and resolved them. But still I couldn't get my DBConsole started.
Yes, I was able to drop DBConsole<sid> service using 'emca' repository drop. But, when I started recreating repository for DBConsole service, I wasn't able to do it. I tried several times but in vain.

Sequence of Applying Kernel Patches

Hi All,
We have ECC 5.0 (Central Instance) OS:HP UNIX and four Dialog Instances on Windows Platform.
For Applying the latest kernel patches what should be the sequence, first dialog instances or Central Instance?
For this landscape is it required that while applying kernel patch Database should be in shutdown mode?

Its not first dialog instance.
Please follow below steps.
1. shutdown all dialog instances.
2. take backup of current kernel directory
3. stop central instance
4. switch the kernel files from new kernel
5. start the central instance.If its successfully up with new patch level then
6. One by one start the dialog instance.
Note: If the dialog instances sharing the path of Central instance Kernel directory then no need to do anything on dialog instances. Sapcpe program will copy new kernel to dialog instance local kernel directory automatically while restarting the dialog instances.
If dialog instances not sharing the path of CI then repeat the same procedure as of CI for DI's.

Error after applying support patch SAPK-40009INCPRXRPM

In our PLM system after applying support patch SAPK-40009INCPRXRPM of component CPRXRPM, release-400
we are getting some short dumps like CALL_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND saying that OLR3_DMS_RFC_LOAD_OBJECT_LINKS function module can't found but this function module doesn't exist in the system.
plz help me in this regard.

Error importing with impdp after applying a patch for oracle 11g

Hello guys,
I recently unistalled all the oracle software with my database in order to start all fresh. I then installed the database and applied a patch from the version 11.1.0.6.0 to 11.1.0.7. I used the DBUA to do such a thing and it worked wonderfully.
I'm now trying to do a full import but it seems there's something wrong with the connection. Below is the syntax and am using Windows 7 BTW.

You may be right about not using the sysdba to logon but just changed it...am still having the same issue though.

Generally, patch is apply with opatch tool (from 9i), and there is an exe for patchset.

Applied Kernel Patch to Solaris 10 on v40z, no longer auto boots

I recently updated the patches on a v40z machine including a kernel patch. After rebooting, the machine would no longer automatically boot to Solaris. Instead it would just wait for user input at the Grub bootloader screen. Anyone experienced this or have a solution?
I believe the patch in question is 118855-19

Unable to boot to Vista after changing Mac OS partition size

Greetings,
After creating an additional Mac OS partition, I can't boot into Vista anymore. Any way to fix it without re-installing?
I have an intel iMac running Leopard, and Vista on a bootcamp NTFS partition. That was working fine.
I created a new partition on the drive (using space from my Leopard partition) and installed Tiger on it for a short project. I’ve been dual booting between Leopard and Tiger just fine.
However, now I’m unable to boot using the Vista partition. I boot to a black screen with white text that states "No bootable device, hit any key" error. Of course hitting a key does nothing.
I can boot into Leopard/Tiger just fine, and can see the Vista partition from Leopard and view the files as usual. However I just can't boot into Vista. I tried running the repair tool from the Vista install disk, but that doesn't work on the NTFS partition (I think it doesn't see a windows partition to fix). Disk utility from Leopard shows the vista partition as the right size and formatted as NTFS.
I'm really stumped by the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Seeing you could lose everything, I would definitely use WinClone while in OS X to backup Vista, and CCC or SuperDuper to backup your OS X volumes (or Apple DU Restore, just be sure to turn off "Ignore Ownership" and repair permissions afterward, and then rerun 10.5.2 if possible).

Unable to print the report after SP2 (CR 2008 / VS 2008)?

I'm developing an ASP.NET application using VS 2008 (Framework 3.5). I have installed CR 2008 with SP (0, 1, and 2).
I created an invoice report and I printed it as test for the report and it works okay. I needed to change the page size of the report to a user defined size and reset all of the margins to zero.
After I did that I was unable to print the report again and every time I tried to print the report nothing gets printed.
I checked my environment to find the cause of this problem but I found nothing except that I'm using CR runtime for SP1 and I'm currently using SP2. So I did remove CR runtime for SP1 and install CR runtime for SP2.
The problem didn't go away and I faced one more problem.
Usually I'm using a dataset as a data source for my reports. After installing the CR runtime for SP2 I couldn't see any date column in my report data source (Dataset). All other types of columns appear except date fields! Why I have no Idea?
After I do some more testing regarding my issue I found out the following
1. When I add a new report to my web application and I don't change the page setting the report work fine.
2. When I change the page setup settings (Page Margins, horizontal width and vertical height) the report show up okay but never gets printed.
Why I don't know?
Addition to that the report dataset (Data Source) showing in the field explorer never shows any date type field?
All of the above issues happened with me after installing SP2.

I am unable to update software or backup my devices. Apple techs unable to resolve the issue after hours of phone support over the course of several months.

I am unable to update software, transfer purchases, sync, or backup any of my 3 devices. I have tried using iTunes on other computers, uninstalling iTunes with tech support walking me through, using a different user on my computer, deleting photos off of my devices, using an ethernet cable instead of connecting with wifi, uninstalling my antivirus software and firewall, and had my laptop examined by several techs who all determined there was nothing wrong with the laptop that explains what has been going on. I am also unable to view or download purchases on iTunes. Clicking the Itunes store results in a blank white screen. I get various error messages, including -9886. Apple techs and now the engineers have been unable to resolve the issues thus far, even after several hours of phone support over the course of several months (about 5 hours this month alone). I have done everything they've suggested, even when they've suggested I do something over again, and I'm becoming frustrated. I would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you in advance for your time.

Sorry for hijacking your thread as put by Dahveed. However I have resolved my issue so I thought I'll share it with the rest of you.
I checked for the error 3194 in youtube and I found some good videos that tell you how to resolve the problem. The issue I was facing was the actually (I know because I have resolved it now) the communication between my computer and apple server which can be fixed as following (if you are using windows):
There is file in following directory:
C:\Windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
The file normally has no extension and it is in file format. You need to open it and make sure that every line that has apple server id starts with "#". In my case one of the line started directly with the ip address and then gs.apple.com.
Perform your restore/update after that and hopefully it should be resolved (mine did).

Unable to execute rules twice after applying Planning 9.3.1.1.11

Hi All,
Just wondering whether someone has come across this issue.
We have just applied Planning 9.3.1.1.11 on a Windows platform.
As a result, we are unable to execute the same rule twice from within the AAS console on any client machine and get the following error:
"You must be connected to database to execute a rule."
Once we get this error we cannot exeucte any other business tules and need to log back in to the AAS console to fix the problem.
If we open up the AAS console on the AAS server, we can rule the rules as many times as we like. The error only comes up when executing a same rule from a client machine.
In Planning web we can execute any business rules multiple times. However, if a user gets the above error in the AAS console, he/she is then unable to execute rules in Planning web unless he/she logs out and logs back in.
We are using Planning 9.3.1.1.11, AAS 9.3.1.3.07 and HBR 9.3.1.1.11 on the server.
However the AAS version on the client side is 9.3.1.1.9 and I think this may be what s causing the issue.
The HBR patch for 9.3.1.1.11 is a server patch and cannot be installed on client machines. I am therefore unable to upgrade the AAS console on client machines to 9.3.1.1.11.
Has anyone come across this?

Hi John,
I worked it out last night... The readme for 9.3.1.1.11 is not very clear and I dont think it mentions patching each client.
Below are the steps:
1 - Close down the AAS console
2 - Copy the newly deployed easclientplugin.jar, cmdlnlauncher.jar and identitymigration.jar from the AAS server and paste them under Hyperion\AnalyticAdministrationServices\console\lib on your client machine. Overwrite existing files if necessary.
3 - Copy the new MigrateIdentities.bat from the AAS server and paste it under Hyperion\AnalyticAdministrationServices\console\bin on your client machine. Overwrite existing files if necessary.
4 - Log on to the AAS console and go to Help - About and ensure that the HBR version is now 9.3.1.1.11
5 - From the AAS console try and execute the same HBR twice.

Unable to open BPM Workspace after applying 11,1.1.5 patch BPM PS4 FP

After I login to BPM Workspace(http://<host>:<port>/bpm/workspace) , I get a blank page.
The logs show the following error -
javax.faces.FacesException: javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException: The class 'oracle.bpel.worklistapp.tasklist.beans.view.TaskView' does not have the property 'homePageLeftAccordion'.

We applied a patch to the 11.1.1.5 SOA installation to prevent an issue from occuring . After that we are getting this issue.
Interesting thing is that the URL - http://<host>:<port>/integration/worklistapp/ works fine.
Can someone please suggest what might be wrong ?
