Unable to change domain logon password from Windows 8.1 system

We are facing a new problem in our domain. Users working on windows 8.1 platform are not able to change the password and getting an error "the security database on the server does not have a computer for this workstation". I tried deleting the
computer from domain and rejoined to the domain but did not help.
We are running Windows 2008 standard 64 bit Domain Controller and Active Directory functional level is Windows Server 2003. Please help with a solution.

Thanks Marius, but we do not have R2.. It is just Win 2008 Std with SP2
The same applies to Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 as well so far I know, you have to call Microsoft and ask for back-port hotfix. Can you check if the password has been updated for the krbtgt account?
You can use repadmin lik this, just replace the DCNAME and the DN to much your own environment:
repadmin /showobjmeta eur-fle-dc02 "CN=krbtgt,CN=users,DC=e
r,DC=corp,DC=chrisse,DC=com"

Note "2" for unicodePwd it means that the password for the account has been updated 2 times.
If the above doesn't apply to you, have you changed any ACLs recently? and dose it work on Windows 7 for example?

Thanks, this solved my problem. Network kept demanding username; I guess it's different from the computer ID I use. have followed the link uninstalling in the correct order,
then restarted as per instructions,
went to Apple to download itunes,
hit download now,

i can only click run as administrator from right clicking the shortcut on my desktop screen

Avermedia (A327) Hybrid mini Pcie Tv Tuner (NTSC/ATSC)
I purchase this system used without an operating system. I installed windows 7 and downloaded the drivers from Hp. All drivers are installed properly and the Avermedia (A327) mini card driver can be seen in device manager.
Yet, the A327 tv tuner will not give me access to the s-video input. I can get tv thru the rf connection but I want to use the s-video because it has a cleaner signal.
Any information about the s-video port will be appreciated..

I read from your post that drivers are installed properly and the Aver media mini card drivers are seen in device manager.
I was wondering if the any of the drivers in Device Manager have a Yellow caution?
Also, is the Touchsmart Iq506t software all up to date?

Changing db2 mainframe password from java

My current appliccation has a swing based front end.
From this front end we access DB2 DB which runs on mainframe.
Based on user name and password authentication we determine the screen access for the users. Now the problem is there are users who dont access the DB directly other than for changing the password .
All other details they need they access from our application.
So if it is possible for them to change the password also from our application then they need not directly connect to the data base. Hope i am clear.

Just open System Preferences>Users & Groups and unlock the preference pane with your root password.
Set the New Account to be an Administrator and fill in the rest of the data and then click "Create User".
I would suggest using this user to be YOU with admin capabilities. I wouldn't use the root user - too much damage could occur if you're not sure what you're doing. If you have files, etc., that you want to move to this account, simply but them in the Shared folder - or if you 'rescued' some old files and the like from your 'trashed' MBP, you can put them in your NEW admin account folders.

I have a scenario where in we have a enhancement to open a PDF file in portal with standard SAP HCM_LEARNING application. If file does not exist then I need to give the custom messages.To give the custom message we need to check that whether the URL of PDF file is valid or not. Currently I am using HTTP2_GET function module to validate the same.This FM returns the status code by which we can know whether this URL is accessible or not. This function module requires a RFC destination as a input parameter . I am using SAPHTTPA for the same.
This RFC Destination (TCP/IP) does not have credentials with it , so the return status code is always 401 (unauthorised ). I also tried to use other RFC destinations(of type G) that have credentials with it but this is not compatible with this FM.
Can you help me in regard to below queries:
Is there any other method that we can use to validate the URL ?
How we can use the session variables (as the user has already logged in so that it should not ask for credentials.) Is there any way to specify the Credentials in the RFC destination of type T?

Local Users (belongs to domain) on ISE cannot derive Password from Windows Database

Dear Support Team
We are in the progress of Migrating ACS4.2 to ISE3355 running 1.1.4. We have SSL VPN Users & Wireless Users to be migrated.
ISE 1.1.4 is already integrated with AD Windows 2008 and can see all the groups defined on AD.
1: in ACS 4.x & even 5.x, we have option to add a user locally (users belonging to domain) , and we can configure user’s password to be derived from Windows Database. It helps to control AAA Policies.
It also helps to avoid configuring "users" in specific groups on AD and as a result no dependency on System Team to configure users in specific groups, which can be used in policy making on ISE.
However while doing the same, I could not find an option in ISE 1.1.4. Password cannot be derived from windows database. Password has to be set manually, that clearly means that i have to arrange the users in specific group on AD.
Is it a platform specific issue or am I missing something ?

Changing Domain Administrator Password : How can I find out what all servers / services are currently using this?

Good morning all,
I took over as IT director for the school district in my town about 2 years ago, and we've had some techs come and go, all of which have had the domain administrator password (not my call, but my fault for not changing it by now). I am about to change
it, but before doing so I want to know how I can make sure what all this will break so I can quickly change the cached/saved password on whatever supporting services use this user/pass.
Can anyone help here?

In my point of view if I were in this situation I would Change the domain administrator password. By
Resetting the domain administrators all the services which use domain administrator as their logon user, will lose their functionality. I had this experience and I did change the domain administrator password with no problem. However do not
forget to have a account lockout tool or script for locating the place where the account was locked out.
But to keep it short most of the time. lockout problems are arise from mapped drives, credential manager and saved RDP sessions and etc.

Unable to start the weblogic server from windows environment

Hi All,
In our training system we have installed the SOA 11g and it worked fine till today afternoon. We have logged off the admin user in windows account and logged with our login credentials into windows after that we are unable to start the weblogic server.
- Earlier in the DOS command prompt we used to navigate to the path where the startWeblogic.cmd file located and then we execute the command, after that we will able to see the status message as RUNNING MODE in the bottom of the screen, and when ever we deploy an project using Jdeveloper in the weblogic server window some messages will appended based on the action.
- Only when we issue the command to shut down the weblogic server at that time only the command will be back to the path from where we started the server.
- After login to windows with our account, when we tried to start the weblogic server, it didn't throw any error instead of that after running few lines in the command window the prompt was back in to the (D:\Middleware\.....\Domains\bin)path from where we ran the command to start the server.
Please help us to resolve the issue asap.

Unable to change Active Directory password on OSX

I'm working IT in a Windows environment with Active Directory services. We have some Macs in the environment, mostly running 10.8, but all definitely running 10.6.8 or later.
The issue lies with changing passwords. When a user attempts to change his password in the Users & Groups pane of System Prefs, it will throw an error about either complexity, systems admin permission, or some other issue. THESE PASSWORDS DO MEET ALL COMPLEXITY REQUIREMENTS AND THEY ARE ALLOWED TO CHANGE THEIR OWN PASSWORDS.
I obviously need to look further into the user accounts but for the most part they are mobile accounts and the machine is on the domain before the specific user account is ever created. Also Keychain access is set to sync with account.
The only solution I've been able to come up with is to reset the users password back to their old password through AD.
I don't even know where to begin to resolve this issue, the ideal solution is that a user can change their password in OSX and have it populate across the domain just like it does on Windows.

Unable to map drive to 4100 from Windows

Hi,
I have a 4100 and I am unable to CIFS map a drive to my NAS from Windows. I can do it fine from a Mac, but my Windows & PC's and 2008 server are unable to map a drive to the Share using the same credentials.
Am I missing something?

Well I have not found any issues with W7 but.... Server 08 is another story! Since you are joined to the domain, have you verified that the join was "Actually" successful? This is one of those things that just does not make since, but because it is Vista .... err Server 08 Samba ended up being locked out.
What is your FW on the NSS6000?
If possible please post your logs as they can tell us alot, sometimes more than we want. My guess is one of two things, you are trying to access the share from a workgroup computer or we did not actually join the domain. Windows likes to make things easier for the user and will cache credentials, so you may want to log out and back in. Once back, try the map again. If it still fails and you are using domain creds, I bet the NSS did not join. Also, if your domain is something like "mycompany.local" and your domain NetBIOS name is "mycompanyHQ", you will not be able to join to a 2008 server.
Keep me posted.

Change SAP BI Password from BO Client Tools / Infoview, SAP Authentication

We are using SAP BI BO Integration Kit (BO XI 3.1, SAP BI 7.0) & able to use SAP BI Queries with WebI, Xcelsius etc.
For a user group, we would be providing only Infoview access (using SAP Authentication). This means we would not want to install any BO Client Tools, SAP GUI or SAP Integration Kit Client, on user desktop.
We are faced with a issue - How does the user change password from Infoview (this is an SAP BI User ID used to login from Infoview).
Initial Password of SAP BI User cannot be changed from Infoview, since it doesnot prompt for changing the Initial Password.
Any ideas how to handle this situation.
