Unable to connect to bluetoothe mouse (microsoft notebook mouse 5000) because of missing passcode

 whn i pair my mouse i need a passcode. i do not have the box of the mouse becuase it is really old, how do i connect without a psscode or what is the passcode?

See Microsoft KB952818
A Microsoft Bluetooth mouse does not require a passkey to connect to the computer.
If you are prompted for a passkey, select No passkey. If you do not get the
No Passkey option, try to enter 0000 as a passkey by using your keyboard.

  • Microsoft notebook mouse 5000 doesn't connect anymore

    My microsoft notebook bluetooth mouse always connect right away while opening my White MacBook but now, with my unibody MBP, it doesn't want to connect at all when I open the lid
    any sujestions?
    Regards

    Did you pair the mouse with the MBPro?
    To set up a Bluetooth device to work with your computer:
    Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and then click Bluetooth.
    Open Bluetooth preferences
    Click Add +
    Choose the type of device you want to set up and follow the onscreen instructions.
    If you don’t see Bluetooth in System Preferences, your computer is not Bluetooth enabled.
    To find out more, open the Bluetooth File Exchange (in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder) and choose Help > Bluetooth Help.
    Also, try replacing the batteries in the mouse.

    I have no bluetooth problem after updating to 4.3.5. Have you tried un-pairing the devices, then pairing them as new devices? Have you tried Reset Network Settings? And have you seen this: iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim

  • Unable to connect Bluetooth Keyboard and magic mouse

    I am unable to connect to either my keyboard or mouse. I have a bluetooth keyboard and magic pad in my office that was paired to my Macbook pro but I am not bringing it anymore sense getting my iPad. The iPad seems to see the keyboard but not the pad. But neither will connect. I'm baffled.
    Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

    What do you mean the iPad sees the keyboard but will not connect? Have you un-paired it from the other computer? Should do that first, then do the pairing with the iPad...if it is a supported keyboard. Posters have noted they are unable to pair the old A1016 Bluetooth keyboard, ca 2005, with the iPad.

  • Connect to bluetooth mouse with no passkey

    My bluetooth mouse (Microsoft Notebook Presenter 8000) needs no passkey when pairing yet there doesn't seem to be any way within the Playbook interface to indicate this so I'm unable to pair it.
    Has anyone found a way around this sort of a problem or will it have to wait for a RIM fix?

    Have a Dell Bluetooth mouse... Playbook asks for pass key, opens a box to enter it...   it connects with 0000 pass key entered into the Playbook.In adding a Dell Bluetooth keyboard, a pass key appears on the Playbook screen... enter it into the keyboard, and it connects.

  • Unable to connect to Gateway Name Server while config Siebel Server

    I installed Siebel 8.1.1.11.0 on RHEL 32-bit. I did configuration as following.
    Install 32-bit Oracle Client and config TNS.
    Install and config Gateway and Enterprise.
    Install Siebel Database.
    Use stop_ns, start_ns and list_ns to restart and ensure Gateway running.
    Run CreateSiebSrvrEnvScript to generate Env file.
    Modify /siebel/8.1.1.11.0/ses/siebsrvr/siebenv.sh. Change ODBCINI=/siebel/8.1.1.11.0/ses/gtwysrvr/sys/.odbc.ini.
    Source siebenv.sh.
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/home/oracle/product/11.2.0/client_1/lib
    Config Siebel Server. While enter info of Gateway, enter SADMIN as account, rhel (configed in /etc/sysconfig) as host name and port = 2320. Then it prompt "Unable to connect to the Siebel Gateway Name Server".
    Any step missing to config it?
    Thanks

    The siebenv.sh file located in the Gateway directory from a 8.1.1.11 installation doesn't have the enviromentt variable SIEBEL_UNIXUNICODE_DB, which i do have in the siebenv.sh from my 8.1.1.0 installation. Add the following line to the siebenv.sh located in the gateway directory (/siebel/8.1.1.11.0/ses/gtwysrvr in my installation):
    SIEBEL_UNIXUNICODE_DB=ORACLE; export SIEBEL_UNIXUNICODE_DB
    Be sure that this variable is set BEFORE you start the gateway and everything should work.
    PS- You also need the Oracle enviroment varibles set before you start the gateway. ORACLE_HOME should be pointing to your 32bit client.
    Cheers!

  • Why won't my microsoft bluetooth notebook mouse 5000 not stayed connected

    This mouse has been working.  When I close the notebook it loses connection.  I have checked batteries, discoverability, etc.  I have even restarted computer.
    What is with this Microsoft Bluebooth notebook mouse 5000?  I use a Mac Pro.  Thanks for your help.

    I went through many of the same frustrations as the members above...my mouse had been working after the upgrade and then when I set up for a presentation with a room full of teachers it wouldn't connect.  I replaced batteries, etc... so I resorted to the pad.
    When I got home i checked the batteries and tried to reconnect following all the "normal" steps until I read the comment above about removing the existing device in the bluetooth preferences.  Once I did that - the 5000 connected like a champ!  Yeah!  This is the one mouse that I have really appreciated, especially since both of the USB ports are side by side and don't allow for multiple USB connections from my "wide" cellular USB card.

  • [Solved] Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse - Scrolling

    Hi All,
    I have been able to pair my Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 with my new installation of Arch.
    All buttons work, and mouse movement is fine. However. I have been unable to get the scroll to work.
    I have been trying to achieve this using hotplugging method. I have saved an fdi file at /etc/hal/fdi/policy/btmouse.fdi
    <deviceinfo version="0.2">
      <device>
      <match key="info.capabilities" contains="input.mouse">
    #   <match key="info.product" contains="macintosh">
          <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheel" type="string">true</merge>
    #      <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheelButton" type="string">2</merge>
    #      <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheelTimeout" type="string">200</me$
          <merge key="input.x11_options.XAxisMapping" type="string">6 7</merge>
          <merge key="input.x11_options.YAxisMapping" type="string">4 5</merge>
    #     <merge key="input.x11_options.protocol" type="string">auto</merge>
        </match>
    #   </match>
      </device>
    </deviceinfo>
    I have looked through the forums and wiki and have been able to find little information regarding the scroll function of the mouse in hotplugging and what options correlate.
    The only info i have found is here --> http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Log … rble_Mouse.
    Could someone explain where i am going wrong...???

    Hi,
    I bought this mouse a few days ago, and it works fine, even scrolling. However, I don't use an xorg.conf file at all. Have you tried to get rid of it (take a backup of course first ) and see what happens? Also, although I tampered the fdi file for the synaptics touchpad, I didn't bother at all for the bluetooth mouse. Still, everything works fine.

  • Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 continually drops and wont reconnec

    I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 thats a few years old, but with my new OSX 10.6 MacBook Air, it keeps dropping the connection to the mouse. I can't tell if its when i close the lid all the time, sometimes it wont pick it up even when i power the laptop down and back up, although the mouse is still on. Does anyone have any ideas, or recommendations on a travel mouse the same size that I should get that would work better with the new laptop? Wondering if its because the mouse is 3-4 years old, but i figure bluetooth is bluetooth right?

    I'm not sure how the Air handles bluetooth with the lid shut in regards to sleeping. After around 40 minutes the machine cuts off entirely so it will definitely drop the connection after that. Your batteries are fresh?

  • Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and OSX 10.6 - Compatibility issue

    I've bought a new MacBook Pro (2,53 GHz, 4 GB RAM) and OSX 10.6.4 . With the old one (MBP 2,16 GHz, 1 GB RAM, still with OSX 10.6.4) the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 went perfectly.
    Now I'm experiencing a major compatibility issue: the same mouse, even with the same OS version but only a different MacBook Pro, won't be recognized.
    Bluetooth: activated
    Bluetooth firmware: latest
    Mouse: ON with batteries OK
    OPERATING SYSTEM: same (first restored via Time Machine and then updated with Apple Software Update)
    Suggestions?

  • Logitech V470  Vs Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

    Hi ,
    I would like to go for a Bluetooth (must be transceiver free) laser mouse .Among the following models , which one wud be the best choice ..
    1).Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks with Bluetooth technology
    2).Microsoft Bluetooth® Notebook Mouse 5000
    Any suggestions from existing users of these models ...or any other model which is better than the above two ?
    Thanks,
    Nelson

    I also was debating between these two mice, as I previously had a Mighty Mouse Laser BT, and its tracking was terrible. I also bought a Gear Heads 1600dpi mouse, and while the tracking was excellent on it, I couldn't stand how long it took to come 'back' after the computer had been to sleep and it would go into it's own 'sleep mode' within 2 minutes of inactivity, causing a delay before using it again that was well over 5 seconds - very annoying!
    I wound up buying the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 because I happened to like it's design a bit more and because it's rated at 1000dpi rather than the Logitech v470's 800dpi (Yeah I know... not a big difference).
    Nonetheless, I have a Time Capsule running at 5ghz and a Linksys router running at 2.4ghz and I notice no lag or skipping that has been reported with the v470. The response time of the mouse is excellent, and there is no lag/delay when using the mouse after a short period of inactivity. When resuming my MBP from sleep it comes back to life in about 3-4 seconds, which is even faster than the mighty mouse was for me.
    This mouse is considerably better than the (much cheaper) gear heads mouse I had before. Interestingly the gear heads mouse is 1600dpi and does provide a faster and slightly more precise tracking experience, but it goes to sleep every minute I leave it alone providing for a very long delay before it resumes (sometimes up to 10 seconds!)
    Something to note: without installing a third party driver (like Steermouse) you will not be able to get the extra 'back' button to work in OS X; this annoyed me slightly when I first paired it.
    It seems that the Microsoft 5000 might be the better choice for those who stumble upon this thread looking for the same thing I was!

    I believe the Bluetooth stack shown in the spec above is for a Toshiba device like this one.

    You may need a driver from Belkin for your adapter.

  • Bluetooth Connection Problem Logitech V270 Cordless Optical Notebook Mouse

    I just start using the Logitech® V270 Cordless Optical Notebook Mouse for Bluetooth with my Ibook g4. The Ibook has internal bluetooth module installed. The mouse is easy to install. It pairs with the computer and both buttons and scrollwheel works.
    However the Bluetooth connection gets lost occasionally. Most of the times it reastablish the connection quickly after. I think this is strange as the mouse is always near my iBook.
    Does anyone has an idea how this problem can be solved? Or what might be the cause of this bluetooth disconnection? The mouse doesn't need drivers for operation on a mac. Some people have the same connection problems?

    I have use the same mouse and I have never had a dropped connection. Have you tried replacing the batteries in the V270 to see if that might avoid the drop out?

  • Microsoft 2.4 GHz wireless notebook mouse not working

    My old wireless mouse broke & I purchased and downloaded Microsoft 2.4 GHz wireless notebook mouse (with "IntelliPoint 6.3 for Mac" disc). But whenever I put in the mouse, it appears:
    USB Over Current Notice
    A USB device is currently drawing too much power.
    The hub it is attached to will be deactivated.
    What to do? There is not yet Bluetooth on my macbook.

    If your computer supports Bluetooth, why not just get a BT mouse. I had a Logitech that worked fine. Then I switched to the BT Mighty Mouse and I think it's the best mouse I've ever owned with the except the fact that it's TOO easy to pick it up backwards due to the fact that its the same width for most of the length.
