Unable to connect to VPN after upgrade?

Hi:
I had a working VPN running on 10.3.9 Server which I could connect to without a problem. Now, from 10.4.7, I cannot connect to it anymore.
I can connect to another 10.4.5 Server though.
I wonder if something has changed in the client side with any of the software upgrades?
In the system log on 10.3.9 I can see the following error:
racoon: ERROR: isakmp.c:1087:isakmpph1beginr(): not acceptable Aggressive mode
kernel: ipfw: 64110 Deny ICMP:8.0 84.218.23.208 82.182.141.81 in via en0
Again, this messages are now, as I have been using this VPN before without a problem.
Thanks in advance!
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Hi there.
Have you had any success by stopped and starting the service?
(The VPN service tends to stop working after a reboot -- I have another post out about this topic).
Also, have you checked whether your VPN users are still in the RemoteUsers list for VPN access?
Cheers,
Derek

  • IPhone 5 Unable to connect to Internet after upgrade

I recently upgraded to 8.0.2 and now my iPhone 5 will not connect to the internet. I can't even restore the IOS because I can't connect to the internet to disable "Find My Phone".
    HELP
    Bob

Add me to the list. Just done the iOS 7 to 7.0.4 update and now am unable to join my WiFi network (TimeCapsule).
In addition to the above I also did a complete restore of the phone, not to a backup, essentially creating a new empty phone, and it still can't connect to the WiFi network.
Note there's also an exceedingly dumb piece of programming been added to the Restore that may cause you an issue. If you have find my iPhone switch on in iCloud, you can not restore. You are told you have to go the the phone and switch off find my iPhone. Now, if the reason you are trying to Restore your iPhone is because you can't connect to the internet, well, that's not too helpful is it. That's that's the dumb-*** kind of UX I switch from Windows to avoid.

  • Cannot Connect to VPN After License Upgrade

    Hello,
I am having an issue where I can't connect to VPN after upgrading the license.
The license upgraded is related to AnyConnect VPN.
I noticed from the newly upgraded license, the Encryption-3DES-AES is disabled whereas previously it was enabled.
Could it be the cause of the issue?

  • Unable to Connect to WiFi after iPhone power off; WiFi & internet are working with MBP; common problem, no solutions?

Here's my setup: Internet <> Comcast/xFinity supplied cable modem <> new Apple Time Capsule <> iPhone 4 & MacBook Pro (see below for hardware details)
Internet on my iPhone 4 has been acting slow since yesterday evening. My MacBook Pro was running fine, but just to be sure I checked the Comcast website to see that I have only used 50GB of my allotted 250 GB of data for the month, so it's not that.
I decided it must be a problem with just my iPhone, so I opened up the multitasking bar and quit everything in there manually, and then I held the on/off button, and slid the slider to power off. When I started back up, I could not connect to the same WiFi I had just been using. I tried to reconnect and nothing. I tried to forget the network and try again, nothing. I tried to reset all network settings, nothing.
I have tried all the steps listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 "iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections"
Toggled WiFi off and back on
Made sure I am in range of the router (it's about 8 feet away and my iPhone reports full signal from the network)
Made sure all the hardware is connected and on
Checked other devices (I'm successfully connected with my MacBook Pro right now)
Checked for router firmware upgrades (I have a new Time Capsule from Apple with the current 7.5.2 firmware which I've been using for a month)
    Restarted my device (again)
Checked that the network is available (it does show on my iPhone)
    Restarted my Time Capsule
Checked my router configuration as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3727 "Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network" which involves simply checking to see that WMM is turned on, also stating that WMM cannot be enabled or disabled for Apple's AirPort products.
    Reset my network settings (again)
I have searched and searched for fixes to this problem, and I have additionally tried:
    Enabling/disabling Airplane Mode
Disabling any network password protection/encryption (no luck), re-enabling it (no luck)
    Changing the network password
Checking for hardware addresses present in iOS Settings > General > About (they are present and not zero'ed out)
Switching Bluetooth off (nothing) and back on (nothing)
....and probably a few other things I can't think of right now
    I have yet to try:
The "Freezer Trick" which apparently involves chilling the iPhone to get a temporary fix?
Restoring the iPhone (I would really rather not)
A different WiFi network (other than my own Time Capsule home network or guest network, both of which give the same Unable to Connect error)
So, after all of that, are there any more ideas? Is there a reliable solution to this issue? So far I've just seen a lot of "mess with the settings," "the freezer trick worked," and "blame it on the iOS 4 update."
    Here are my hardware details:
    iPhone 4; iOS 5; 32GB; AT&T; no cellular data plan (July 2011)
    TimeCapsule6,113; Firmware 7.5.2; 2TB (September 2011)
    MacBook Pro 3,1; Mac OS X (10.7.2); 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; Hi-Res Display; 4GB RAM; 500GB HD (August 2007)
    ...and the Time Capsule config:
    http://cl.ly/BCUt

Ugh. Apparently "messing with it" is still the answer. I decided to try the LinkSys router I was using before I bought the Time Capsule, and my iPhone connected with no problem.
I went through the steps again, and after rebooting my Time Capsule this time, I can connect again. The troubling thing it that this started with a power-off of my iPhone. No changes or installations, just a reset. Am I going to have to reboot my Time Capsule (which has no power switch, just a cord I have to unplug) every time I reboot my iPhone?

Who can shed some light on my ongoing connection problem.
After upgrading my iPad Air with IOS 7.06, I could no longer connect to the internet.
I have 2 MacBooks Air, 1 ipad mini and one iPhone 4S running on the same network, and they are all connected to the net and function well.
So I cleaned up the ipad completely, installed the latest firmware and reinstalled my apps : no connection.
I tried all things of resets and forgets. No result.
I have been fondling with my Airport Extreme 5 , but that did not help much.
This morning I went to a neighbor , hooked my ipad air on his network, typed the password and the thing all worked fine.
I have tried to connect the ipad air as an ethernet client, but that did not work. „Not enough power“ was the statement
    Ideas anyone ?

Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work.  Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
Et voila.... everything is back in working order,

  • Unable to connect to vpn

Hi, I'm unable to connect to VPN.  The error I'm getting is - "The VPN server did not respond. Verify the server address and try reconnecting."  I'm sure I am using the correct server address because I tried it on my non-mac laptop and worked fine.  By the way, I'm using cisco as vpn client.  Hope someone can help me.  Thank you.

Where are you getting this error?
When are you getting this error?
Does the network block requests from your area?
You're connecting FROM India, but where are you connecting to?
Do you manage the network?  If not, do you have support available?
Do you collect syslog events that you can look at?
Is it an authentication failure or another failure?
Is there Posture Assessments being done?  If so, what are they?
Do the logs from monitoring / collection nodes (MNT, CAM/CAS, ETC) show a reason for failure?
Typically this would be something that starts at a Tier I support level and works its way up the chain from there.  There are just so many possibilities from the data that you gave us, and so much being left out it's impossible to begin to ascertain what could be amiss.

  • Unable to connect to Internet after Secruity Upgrade - Any Suggestions?

Like several of the previous posts I am unable to connect to the internet. The affected computer is a G3 iMac. It is connected to a Linksys wireless access point. The Linksys wireless router is connected to my cable modem. I get a message that the Built-in Ethernet is active but: Built-in Ethernet has a self assigned IP address and you may not be able to connect to the internet. No combination of changes to the settings has had any effect. I also have tried all of the fixes in the previous posts. None of them have worked. I am not experiencing any connectivity problems with my other computers (2 PCs and 1 Macbook). Everything worked fine until that danged "security upgrade"!

Visit http://www.macfixit.com/ where the have been
running articles on how to solve problems arising
    from the security update.
Thank you for the link to MacFixIt. I found what I needed to correct the problem, although all of the fixes referenced computers with the AirPort card and software. I found that removing the extensions AppleAirPort2.kext and AppleAirPortFW.kext solved the problem. Everything seems to be working properly after a restart last night and an overnight shutdown.

  • Can't connect to VPN after 10.4.10 Upgrade

    Please help me!
Before I upgrade to 10.4.10 I could connect to VPN.
But after the upgrade, it just "timed out". In the Console it shows:
    Sep 28 12:22:57 vivivold pppd744: PPTP error when sending echo_reply : Network is unreachable\n
    Sep 28 12:22:57 vivivold pppd744: MPPE disabled
And I just can't find the solution?!?!?!?!?! Anyone help? (and yes I have written the correct pass and username... )

    Anyone??? please??
I try to connect to vpn (it is the correct ip and all that)
And after 59sek (1 min) it stops and says "the connection were lost because the reciever did't respond, try again"
    And the console writes:

  • Can't connect to WIFI after upgrading to IOS 6

After upgrading to IOS6, my 4S stopped connecting any available wifi networks. It keep poping up "Unable to join the network "***" " when I tap any wifi spots I've been used so far. My problem is not like most people says. Instead of taking me the the apple website, mine doesn't even connected! This problem has been around for a week. I have to relay on 3G so far. I've tried resting the wifi setting, resting the iphone and even tried a lot of public wifi spots. It still doesn't work. Is it the problem of hardware? Help me, plz!

The solution lies in the router password encryption. There is the option WPA2 instead of current WPA/WPA2 on my router. I changed the setting to just WPA2 and it worked now. But the former option worked on iOS5.1.1. Thanks!
[Update]Turns out it is still unresolved. After the changing the encryption I restarted the router and it is still the luck I got before. The connection will not last long. Still unable to connect.

  • Airport Card on MacBook Pro unable to connect to VPN networks

For the last year or so (apart from two glorious months at the start of this year) when using an Airport connection, I'm unable to access any VPN networks. I always get an error saying that the VPN server is not responding.
However, if I use an ethernet connection, a USB Wifi modem or an iPhone tethering I can connect without any issues.
The VPN connections started working in January to my utter surprise. I think it may have been connected to the 10.6.6 update, but stopped working again when I did my last update on March 13th. I installed Java 10.6 update 4, iTunes 10.2.1 and Safari 5.0.4.
I'm about to install Mac OS X 10.6.7 to see if it has any effects but I wanted to know if this is a known issue and whether or not there are any solutions to the problem?

Seems like the 10.6.7 update solved the problem.

    Hello Oliver,
I would start with removing your Wi-Fi network from your Preferred Network list. To do that, navigate to the Symptom: After restarting or waking from sleep, my computer might not connect to the Internet section in the first article and it will walk you through that. Another thing you can try is creating a new Network Location to see if there is an issue with your current configuration and the steps for that are in the second article.
