Unable to connect Wi-Fi network after ISO 6 update

unable to connect Wi-Fi network after ISO 6 update. I'm not impressed.

I updated to ISO 6 on my Daughters Iphone 4S, my Iphone 4, and I have now received my new Iphone 5 yesterday and now all 3 of them have wi-fi issues. I know its not my wi-fi because My Daughters Ipad 2 and my Wife's Iphone 4 is still on 5.11 and the wi-fi works fine. I cant understand why apple have not been saying what's going on and when they will fix it. I have tried everyone's suggestions on this forum and the Internet. Still no luck.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Unable to connect to wireless network after 10.4.8 update

    Hi Guys,
I use Macbook which I have just updated to 10.4.8. After doing the update I can no longer connect to my wireless network. On 1st boot Airport asked to update the keychain. I said yes.
Selecting my network, and entering the WPA key results in "Password for this network is incorrect" which is a load of rubbish as I can connect a PC Laptop to it perfectly. I have restarted the router, put in the key in caps and lower case, and still always the same error message.
Has anybody else experienced this? If so, does anyone know how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Paul.

I just brought home a new Macbook with the 10.4.8
system software. I had to reconfigure my wireless
router to "open system" - it still required the WEP
key code, but when it was configured as an open
system instead of an automatic system it allowed the
    Mac to connect.
My other computers still work fine with the new
    router configuration.
    Macbook   Mac OS X
    (10.0.x)
10.4.8 came with your new macbook? or did you update?
the only reason i ask is this was a question from a day or two ago, people were wondering if it were abnormal that new macbooks were still shipping with 10.4.6 even though 10.4.7 was out, and some predicted that once it went to 10.4.8 the shipping software would be updated to the new update

  • IMac unable to connect to secured network after 3 years

My iMac appears to be unable to connect to my wireless network even though nothing has changed. Error message reads ' could not join "XXXX" a connection timeout ocurred.
I connected to my new router with no issue and have been for other a month. Had no issue connecting to previous routers.
This afternoon, my iMac prompted me to join a network. I reset my router as this commonly solves most issues however in this instance no joy.
My Sony blu ray connects without issue (wired) my iPhone and iPad also connect (wirelessly)
I have reset my iMac aswell as shut it down and turned it on from cold, no luck. I have also tried to connect to my iPhone's hotspots functionality with no joy.
I am able to join the unsecured 'btcloud' network with seemingly no issue.
As nothing has changed, the only two conclusions that I can draw is either 1. There has been a software update in the background that has a bug 2. The hardware itself has an issue.
In my experience hard tends to be an all or nothing thing. Which leaves me only with hidden software update which I wasn't aware that it was caperable of.
I am running Mountian Lion (10.8) on a 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo.
    Any ideas?

For the software update it has to be initiated by the user, unless you have it set to update automatically.
Usually a connection timeout is due to the computer not being able to communicate with the router properly. Are your ip setting set up as static or dynamic? Also have you tried deleting the network from your preferences and adding the content in again? As sometimes the issue can be a setting was wrong. If this doesn't solve it you can call in if you are within your complementary ninety days phone support or if you have Apple Care and an Apple employee should be able to assist you.

  • My phone 4s won't connect to home network after ios 6 update

Okay, right after I downloaded the new ios 6 update my phone has been unable to connect to my home wifi. I already did the whole switching my router from WPA to WEP and did the whole forget this network. When I selected my network again, it asked for my password, which I put in correctly. Right after the loading star popped up beside it and thats how it stayed. Can anyone help me out on this? Be much appreciated.

Reset your iPhone.  Hold Sleep Key and Home Key together for more than 15 sec.  Now try your App Store again.

  • Can't connect to wireless network after Mac OS update

    I just bought a mid-2007 Macbook (2x2 GHz, 2 Gb), which came with OS X 10.5.1 installed.
I connected to my wireless network (WPA2 Personal) without any problems and ran Software Update. This worked fine, including updating to 10.5.3.
But now I can no longer connect to the wireless network. It either times out when I enter the password, and/or crashes the Network Preferences.
I tried re-installing the system, but the installer said it couldn't install on this mac. That happened both with the 10.4.6 discs I got with the Macbook and with the 10.5 disk that came with my iMac.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi tankfield
Sandra has already addressed the reason why you can't use the wrong CD-ROM to re-install OS X.
However, the reason you had problems in the first place is that the 10.5.3 update contains some unacknowledged (by Apple) issues which cause flaky wireless connection. The same problem also appears on the latest update of Tiger. Apparently, not everyone is affected, but if you are then it's a real issue.
There appears to be no single solution, just several suggestions. Off the top of my head, these are:
    - In your wireless router, switch off Mixed mode and only use G or N
    - Change the wireless channel so it doesn't class with the neighbours router
    - Don't use WEP encryption, only WPA or WPA2 (good advice anyway)
    - Put AirPort first in Network Preferences, and your home network first in Preferred Networks
    - Create a dummy location which is a clone of Automatic
.... and many more - none of which worked for me.
Finally, today I came upon this one which (so far) seems to be working.
    - Start up Utilities/Terminal and type this command EXACTLY followed by return:
    sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0
(It will ask for your password)
In the unlikely event of this working for you, you will need to re-apply each time you reboot.
    Good luck
    Bob

Make sure your Mac and your Apple TV are on the same network.
Choose your Apple TV from the AirPlay status icon in the menu bar.
Choose This Mac or your Apple TV depending on how you want to match the desktop size of your Mac.

Same To me. I have Asus WL-500W router at home, WPA2-PSK(AES), password similar to this "lIGf@91pY0TnFY!Jh@7LjTUlsL3ZPY", MAC address filtering. My old Nokia E51 works, my Touch Pro Works with it. When i try my one day old Nokia E72 it does not work, the same like others:WLAN: Unable to connect. Wlan Network not Found. E72 works at my work wifi, which has the same settings but without mac filtering. Have no idea what is happening, all is setting correctly. MAC address of E72 is allowed on router. It has the same settings like E51, but E51 works like a charm E72 does not work. What is wrong?
As already suggested, you could try disabling the MAC filtering from the router, just to outrule possibility of a typo while entering E72's MAC address to router settings.
Have you tried swithing a WLAN channel that your router uses?
Log in to your router's web management pages (check router's default IP address and username/password from it's manual) and switch of the "Automatic" channel selection mode. Try few different channels, like 1, 3, 6, 9, 11, if one of the channels happens to work any better. Note that in case you have set your router to use channels 12 or 13 (or in case "Automatic" channel selection mode has decided to select channel 12 or 13) you must have a SIM card inserted and some other than "Offline" profile enabled on your phone since Offline mode (i.e. airplane / flight mode) won't allow your phone to operate on higher channels than 11.
In case you have configured your WLAN network (SSID) to be "hidden", try disabling hidden SSID mode on the router.
Asus WL-500W router seems to be a pre-standard 802.11n device so might be worth looking in to your router's WLAN settings and see if playing around with router's WLAN operating mode and settings improve the situation. First of all ensure that your router is not set to operate in 20/40MHz mode (set it to 20MHz only) assuming that the router is in default 802.11b/g/n mode. You could also try disabling the 802.11n mode completely by selecting a 802.11b/g mode (if available).
You should probably also check that you're running latest (2.0.0.6 ??) firmware version on your Asus WL-500W router since there seems to plenty of complaints regarding WLAN connectivity and stability issues (in general, not specific to Nokia handsets) with this particular router model.

  • Why can I connect to my home network with my iPhone 5 in one room, but when I move to another it is 'unable to connect to the network'

At home, I can connect my iPhone 5 to my home wifi network with no problems, as long as I stay downstairs.
As soon as I go upstairs my phone disconnects from the network. I can still see the home network it in the available network lists (with full signal strength), but when I try to reconnect I get an 'unable to connect to the network message'
If I move back downstairs it reconnects
This has only started happening in the past week or so
I've tried to forget and rejoin the network, but this doesn't work
I reset my network settings on the phone. This worked for a couple of hours and I could connect to the wifi upstairs, but now it won't connect again.
Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Sounds like your wi-fi signal strength has degraded.  Try rebooting your wi-fi router, or get it serviced.
Do you have similar issues with any other wi-fi routers?

  • New iPod Touch 2nd gen unable to connect to my network

Please let someone on here be able to help me... please. Dx
I just got my new iPod touch today, plugged it in, put some music on it, tried to connect to my network after it picked it up... and... it won't connect.
I've tried everything I can think of! It wasn't encrypted before, so I encrypted it. I tried using WPA, WEP, and WPA 2... NONE OF THEM WORK.
I've tried resetting, banging my head against the wall, resetting the network settings on my iPod... everything I can think of.
Is there a way to fix this? Please say yes.
    Ugh.
One other thing, when I turn it on, go under the network and go under more info or whatever (the blue arrow) under DHCP no IP address shows up. Is that normal?
No, I haven't tried another network yet.
And I am entering the right password for the network.
    Message was edited by: GraceTurner

Yes, Grace, there are fixes for this. Unlike some people who think there is a "bug", I think you can get this connected.
Router: Check your router for the following settings:
    DHCP- On
    MAC filtering - off
    SSID - on
Encryption - set it to WPA or WPA2 (note, these are not turned on by default)
DNS - obtain from ISP automatically
    On the iPod side:
Go to the network connection you have, tap on the blue arrow, tap on forget this network.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings and do that.
After your iPod restarts, go to WiFi and type in your Network name. Chose the encryption that matches what is setup on your Router, enter your password. (Note: if you choose WEP, choose 128 bit and enter the hexidecimal key when if prompts for a password)
If you have successfully logged in, you will have a check mark next to your network name. Tap on the blue arrow and look at your settings. You should have your Touch's IP address, subnet mask for the network, the router IP address, and the DNS address(es).

  • EthernetIP, Unable to connect to the network path specified, Multiple NICs

I have not been able to find an answer concerning this error, so I am hoping someone can help.
Computer has LabVIEW 2013 with the NI-Industrial Communications for EtherNet/IP 1.2.1 addon with Win XP although I have verified the same setup with Win 7 x32 with the same results. I am using the EthernetIP CIP Get Attribute Single.vi and the corresponding "Set" vi.
I am using a pc with five network cards, one for the corporate network (dhcp) and four that are connected to four Rockwell PowerFlex 700S AC variable drives via CAT6 crossover cables. Each 700S drive controls a motor in an engine dyno teststand. The 700S drives have the latest available firmware installed. The four NIC/700S pairs have hard coded IP addresses with the appropriate subnet masks for proper routing. I can use the Windows "ping" command without errors. The program uses a QSM-PC architecture which I have four separate qsm loops  that "talk" to the each drive, those loops constantly request three parameters from the drive, a boolean drive status array, the rpm , and the torque every 250ms using the CIP "Get" vi. That data is then sent to the main front panel via shared variables. When the operator wants to say change the rpm, a write command is inserted into the queue, and the CIP "Set" vi is used.
My problem is when I start the program, it is hit or miss on whether these loops will begin to loop through their states. If they start, the program is rock solid. When one of the loops does not start, which is most of the time, the error returned is the "-251723767 Unable to connect to the network path specified". See the attached pictures. So if I disable three of the four loops, the error never shows up. Adding another loop or more will cause the error. Slowing down the request rate does not fix the issue and it is not always the same loop that will throw the error. Each qsm loop has its own session name and its own action engine with the only common thing amongst the action engines would be the "Get" and "Set" EthernetIP VIs.
    No more ideas.....Kevin

250 ms is a pretty slow update rate for CIP so Why use a nic for each drive? Use 1 drive nic in your PC and use a network switch to connect with your drives. If You have more then 1 nic you need to specify the nic to use for each loop for each drive IP address so the drive and the loops are using the correct IP settings. You should be able to use as low as 30 ms updates with no problems.

  • Can't connect to wifi network after iOS update

Can't connect to wifi network after iOS update.

This does not work in my case.
Situation: we have wifi at home using WPA encryption.
The iPod Touch 8GB connected seamless to this network and anything was ok. After some days i could no longer connect, the iPod told me "connection to network 'networkname here' failed". Deleting the network and reenter the (correct) passphrase was no help, but changing the SSID on the router was helpful: the iPod could connect again ... for several days.
Now things stopped working again. Resetting network settings did not help either.
The iPod can see the network, is asking me for the passphrase and after several seconds telling me: can't connect. On the router log i don't even see a dhcp request, but other laptops work fine with the same wifi network.
That's a mess, i cannot and will not change the SSID every some days just to get the iPod working again.
