Unable to COPY image without background

An object is selected in Photoshop CS4 against a transparency background. In other words, it is isolated.
Then the COPY command is used.
Then it is PASTED into Illustrator CS4 but the white background appears
(Creating a New User account in Windows did not change anything.)
Also, selecting the object using the Rectangular Marquee tool had the same result of inserting a white background
Operating System: Windows Vista

Yes its works, at least on cs3 (had few days ago same problem). Another way is convert selection to path, then export it to illustrator. Then open it in Ilustrator, copy path to where its needed. Select copied image from PS (one with white background), use align palete to align both at same position and make cliping mask. Done Not fastest and easiest way, but when path needed not just transparency then it works.Of course converted path almoust always isn't ideal but you can use handmade path.

  • Saving rotated image without background

Ok I need help....I have rotated an image 20 degrees and would like to save it as a rotated image but whenever I do there is a white background around the image. Look at the image below, I rotated it 20 degrees but when I saved it, it saved with the white background. How can I save the rotated image but without the white background????
(I changed the color so you could see the background)

If your working with one layer (locked background layer), double click
on the layer thumbnail in the layers panel to make it a new unlocked layer.
Then when you rotate the photo, the background should be transparent.
Also to maintain transparency, save in another format other than jpeg, such
    as psd, tif, png-24.

  • Saving created image without background?

Hi I have PSE 8 and am new to this, I am trying to create a small 11x11 pixel orange circle but when i created it even using the transparency option, the image still gets saved with a white square background. Is it possible to save the created circle alone WITHOUT the white square background? If so, how please?

Open the editor and change the color swatch (usually black & white) to orange.
Click on the arrows symbol so that orange becomes the background color.
Select File > New > Blank File
Set background contents to Background color and click OK
Drag your elliptical marquee tool to form a circle and press ctrl+J
You will see in the layers pallet a background layer and a transparent layer on top with your orange circle.
Click in the layers pallet on the layer marked background and hit the trash can to delete.
Resize your image to the dimensions you want.
Then on the top menu select File > Save for Web
Change from jpeg or gif to PNG-24 and check transparency.
    Click OK
Choose a new file name and click OK.

  • How do I copy and paste images without a reduction in size?

I am working on a project where I want to include several jpeg images that are saved on my computer onto a new single 8.5x11 page in Photoshop. Even though the percentages are the same on both the images and the Photoshop page, when I copy and paste the images onto the page, the size of the images are greatly reduced (from 5" to 1".)  I would greatly appreciate instruction on how to copy images and paste them on to a Photoshop page without the reduction in image size. I have accomplished this task previously and I had no problem. Is there a setting that I am unaware of that I need to change in order to proceed with the project as planned? Thank you for your time.

You are a genius! That's it. Thank you so much for taking the time to help...

  • Unable to import images to iMovie, or copy and paste images.

As the title states, I am unable to import images from either iPhoto, the iMovie photo selector, or finder. Furthermore I cannot copy the rest of my timelapse from a second project into the origional, it just pastes one image in a different size and quality many times over. I was able to make a time lapse not more than five days ago before the update, so what gives? I am very frustrated. Everything is slow, it eats up all of my ram, and will freeze when I attempt to import images. I have all the updates, new retina pro, reinstalled iMovie; all the basic steps.. These are all images from a GoPro camera, and the first timelapse used all of the same files, I know it isn't a .jpeg problem or anything like that. So far it seems like a complete software failure and it is beyond my hands now but I would greatly appreciate some input.
    Thanks.
    Jake.

So if you select a protion of a clip, it gets outlined in yellow, and then when you mouse over it the cursor should be a little hand icon.
If you're not seeing that, you've got a problem.
Do you have another user account on your computer so you can try to see if you have the same issues? Maybe even create a new one for testing purposes.
Are you near an Apple Store you could drop by?
I'm not sure what else to suggest.

  • Saving a image without a background

I did the tutorial on Removing Image Backgrounds with
Fireworks. That works great, but I don't know how to save a image
without a background. I am trying to save it for a website. I have
Fireworks 8.0. I tried to save it as a Alpha Transparency GIF file
, but the image is poor. I don't know the correct way of saving
    this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Official JPEG specs does not allow any transparency at all,
    so save your
time and quit trying it. GIF only support limited colors (up
    to 256), one
of that can be assigned as "transparent". So when FW exports
    GIF from a
source file that have any partial transparency, it "premixes"
    any partial
transparent color of source with "matte" color. In case the
    latter
correspond to average color of your page background, and your
    page
background is not too wild and colorful, and you are not
    using too wide
partially transparent stuff, it normally work well.
Among the image formats common on the Web, only PNG provides
    true partial
transparency. Alas, IE still does not correctly understand
    that part of
PNG specs that was set years ago. So if you definitely
    positevely can't
live without transparency things that are available in GIFs,
    PNG plus
specific CSS and\or Javascript trics is the only way to go.
    However, I'd
personally make sure I can't live with old limited GIFs
    before going that
    way.

  • Rotating image without duplicating background?

    Hello,
is it possible in CS5 to rotate an image (without scaling the image dimension ) without duplicating the background layer to rotate this layer?
    Carlos

I am assuming that when you open your photo in CS5 that the layer is automatically locked?
If yes, then you can right click that layer and there is an option at the top called "Layer From Background...".
This unlocks that layer without having to duplicate it.
To rotate an image without changing dimensions of the actual photo?  When you rotate an image the width and the height dimensions are switch depending on how you rotate.
Under Edit>>Transform, you will get 4 different options to rotate.
The rotate at the top is to manually rotate the image.  The other rotates are presets which might be what your after.

    Hi Suresh,
Please check that you have crystalreportviewers11 (for version XI) or crystalreportviewers115 ( for version XI R2) folder in your BO installation and your web.xml has correct reference to it. You can copy this folder over in your web application and
Add an entry in web.xml as follows ( if it doesn't exist)
    <context-param>
      <param-name>crystal_image_uri</param-name>
      <param-value>/<your application name>/crystalreportviewers115</param-value>
    </context-param>
crystalreportviewers11\115 have images folder which contain all the images for Logo and toolbar. Check the images folder in viewers and make sure that they exist.

  • Can't copy images/vids from 3GS to XP PC.

    Hi all,
I've got a PC running Windows XP and since upgrading from the 3G to the 3GS, I have been unable to copy either images or videos from my 3GS to my PC. I tested it with my other PC running Vista, and it works fine there, but not on XP. At first it seemed like all of the thumbnails were still from my 3G and that there was some kind of weird caching issue, but after searching through all of the files, I did begin to find photos and videos takes from my 3GS. One strange thing is that regardless of how I sort them in Windows Explorer, their order does not change. File names appear to be completely random. I did delete the old iTunes iPHone photo cache folder, thinking that maybe my PC was still recognizing my new 3GS as the older 3G.
When I try to copy pics or videos over to my PC, the file name appears, but the file size is 0kb. Neither does the file play. When viewing the iPhone 3GS in Windows Explorer, if I double click one of the thumbnails, it appears to copy the file over to the My Pictures folder, but usually it won't play, even though the file sizes seem normal, with a box that pops up saying "Transferring File to Destination..." and then it just kind of hangs there and does nothing, and I have to kill the process.
Another thing is that if I look at all of the videos and photos through Windows Explorer, all of the files show double thumbnails. I'm not sure if there is some kind of cashing issue or what is going on, but it's getting frustrating.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

I would try this, as it may be an issue with the driver Windows is using to read data on the phone. Simply removing it in Device Manager and reattaching the phone doesn't reinstall the software.
    1) Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.
    2) Uninstall iTunes. Your music and video files won't be harmed.
    3) Uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support.
    4) REBOOT.
    5) Go to apple.com/itunes/download and download the latest iTunes.
    6) Reinstall iTunes (which puts back Apple Mobile Device Support)
    7) Try attaching the iPhone and importing photos again.
    Hope that works for you

  • Adobe Reader 9 Mac - cannot copy images

I upgraded to Reader 9, and another person in our office is using 8 with the same problem. We can no longer copy images out of a PDF - when we try to paste an image that appeared to be copied we only get a gray box. We've tried many ways including pasting directly into Word or Excel, choosing 'New from Clipboard' in Photoshop Elements, creating a blank Photoshop file and pasting, etc. This has works perfectly in Acrobat 5.0 and in Reader 7.0.5 (which I have gone back to using - I'm sure glad I waited before removing it from my system!).
    Any thoughts?

I was wrong on both counts. With the help of the local Apple store, I found a solution. First, I Moved to Trash all adobe related files/folders from /Users/*myaccount*/Library/Cache and /Users/*myaccount*/Library/Preferences. When I started "Adobe Reader 9", I at least got the license agreement but again it failed with an "internal error". I then moved the /Users/*myaccount*/Library/Application Support/Adobe folder to my desktop. I was then able to start "Adobe Reader 9" successfully.
I was having the "Internal Error" message on all my repeated installs of Reader in Mac OS 10.6 ("Snow Leopard") and this fixed it for me. The only thing I did different, was after the app finally launched without an error, I dragged all the non-Acrobat Reader folders inside of /Users/*myaccount*/Library/Application Support/Adobe back to the folder. I then re-launched Reader just to check and all was fine.
Thanks! This fixed my Adobe Reader on Snow Leopard problem.

  • Time Machine: "Unable to copy the recovery set"

I am using OSX 10.7.5 and attempting to set up Time Machine to back up to an external 1TB WD My Passport for Mac drive. I've worked through a couple of issues during setup, but I'm still seeing some odd logging in the Console and I'm not sure it's truly working.

Several were related to files associated with GarageBand, which I don't use, so I excluded them from backup via Time Machine Preferences.  I still received a few (as above), but ultimately I see "Backup Completed Successfully".  However, I still have an error message saying "Unable to copy the recovery set", so I'm wondering if the backup was not actually successful.

I've erased the drive and ensured the partition format matches my main drive.  I'm not sure if this is indicative of anything, but if the laptop is on battery power when Time Machine is scheduled to execute, I get 2 messages in the Console - one with my Mac name, the other with unknown.  However, when Time Machine fully executes, all messages come from unknown.

I've been through the steps at pondini.org and searched the existing discussion boards but haven't found anything that matches this particular scenario.  Will be very appreciative of any tips to resolve.
    Thanks in advance,
    Emma

Switching off the iPhoto screen saver and trashing its plist file stopped the directory corruption issue. Even so, backups would not work.
Thinking it might be a WD issue, I went to the Western Digital support site and found a firmware update (designed to eliminate hardware ID conflicts when running two WD external HDs) and a newer "drive manager" (formerly called button manager). Installing the firmware update on my backup destination and the drive manager software seems to have eliminated the problem. I've been backing up over the hub successfully for almost 24 hours. Cross your fingers.

  • Unable to upload images

As of a few days ago I am unable to upload images online. First I noticed it with a Mixbooks and then with Ebay. In some cases it starts to load it and then starts over and over without any success. On Ebay it just sits there preparing to upload. I tried uploading it from iPhoto and then from my desktop with the same results. The internet connection is good and firewall isn't an issue. I'm running the latest Snow Leopard version on a 6 month old 27" iMac. Any suggestions?
