Unable to create Source system

Dear Experts,
While creating source sytem in BW i am getting below error
*You have no authorization for basic types (activity 01)*
Target system is CRM , Client is opened , security people are saying they have give all authorization .
could someone pl guide me on this.

Hi Vamsi,
From the error message, its clearing saying about missing authorization. Hence please check the authorization in BI system for the ID with which you are creating the source system connection and also check the authorization of RFC user which you have defined in RFC of both BI and CRM system.
For RFC user better you assign SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW

Unable to Create Source system in RSA1

I have installed a BI Server(Netweaver 2004s). When i try to add source system in RSA1, it gives an error "No entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN available"
Let me tell what all i tried.
1) i clicked on settings>global settings- it gives a blank page. when i switch it to change mode, there is a button called "Position" and then "Entry1 of 2". I cant enter any value there and when i click on "Position" button, it says "Table RSADMINAV has no relevant fields"
2) In se16 tried to maintain RSADMINA table and for BW User field, i gave BW_USER, but there is no "execute" Button. all i see is "Reset" button. i tried pressing F8 key, it wont do anything. I clicked on save but it says "the entry is already exist"
Regarding RFC - i created a user BW_USER in ERP Sytem and ERP_USER in BI server and both the user type are System user.
From both the server i tried to do Connection test and i am not getting any error. but if i try clicking Remote Connection, it wont connect and wont do anything and no Errors.
Please help me Resolving this Issue, Since it became a very critical issue.

Hi,
Can you check if there is any other user ID specified in "BW user for ALE".
To check, Go to transaction RSA1 --> Settings --> Global Settings.
If you find a different user id there, then specify the correct BW user id there.
Please refer to OSS Note 410952 for details.

Unable to Create Source System under 'SAP'

Hi,
We are on BI 7.0 and I am trying to create an R/3 Logical System (RSA1 - Source Systems - SAP - Create...)
But everytime I try to do that logical system is getting created under 'BI' folder (instead of 'SAP' folder). Do you know why this could happen?

Hi SDNBI,
I have stumbled across the same phenomenon. Netweaver contains BI and ERP. When in the specific ERP system you want to create under the SAP folder you have in the past used the RSA1 transaction then the system thinks that this system should belong to BI folder. Hence it places that in BI folder. On the other hand when you have not executed RSA1 in the system you want to create then it should place it normally under the SAP folder because in that case it doesnt relate it to BI.

Error while creating SOURCE SYSTEM

Hi All,
I have a problem while creating Source System to a Solman syatem configured with BW content. I have configured few some source systems already in the same Solman System.The system shows the following error, previous to this i get the message a "generating connection to the source system"

Diagnosis
With Remote Function Call to system RXX_100 error Screen output without connection to user. ccurred.
Procedure
Remove the cause of the error.</b>

In SCC4 the source client should not set as production when creating the source system connection between two systems.Please check below SAP note

Creating source system in BW3.5

Hi all,
I create a source system connection using automatic method and fill up all entry in create source system window in next screen i give user name and password then these errors are shows
<b>Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'</b>.
when i am going in help of that error it shows this information In this logon client any changes to repository and to crossclient customizing objects are prohibited
can anybody tell me why these errors are occur.

Hi Ankit,
As you posted yourself this message is appearing because your system is locked for any kind of editing. You need to open it to create this source system. This is generally done by a BASIS consultant.
You can go to SCC4 as mentioned above by Pankaj and open the client to create this.

Error while creating source system entry in SAP BW system

Hi,
I am creating source system entry in SAP BW system for ECC system.In T-Code RSA1 i entered all the details of source system and BW system like RFC destination of source system and RFC user passowrd.
After clicking on enter system is promting me to enter into the souce system using administrator user.but i don't have admin user with SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles because in my organisation they don't assign these profiles to any user.
So can you please update me what are the authorization required for dialog user in source system.

I would recommend to create a USER ID as COMMUNICATION type and assign SAP_ALL for it... this way, it can never be misused..
This will ensure that the user ID will have correct authorization in the source system and will not face any authorization related errors later on

Create Source System - Error

Hi Gurus,
I have to create a conexion with R3 so i did :
1)Create RFC Conexion in SM59
2)Create Source System in RSA1
But in the last step of the creation Source System in RSA1 shows up the following Error Message:
"The source system already exists"
So i checked in the source system list, and it does not exists.
Can anyone help me about this?

Hmm.. not very good over here.. but can you dubleclick and see if they are leading to different clients or not?
I think they are 2 different clients of the R3's .. so this should be posible..
Did you created a new logical system and new RFC destinations for this new one?
May be that it is pointing out to the existing destination..

Creating Source systems in two same logical BW systems from single R/3 sys

Hi All,
We are facing an issue while creating Source systems in two same logical BW systems, from single R/3 systems. Our Basis team is telling that if we want to connect the single R/3 system into 2 BW systems with same logical name, we will need to delete the source systems from one BW systems and create in another system. Also they told by doing so it will delete all the transfer rules and PSA table existing in the current BW system, which has the source system connectivity with the R3 system now.
Is this anyway to create the same source systems in two same logical BW systems, from single R/3 systems without deleting the transfer rules?. Also please help us to get anu OSS note or document explaining this in details.

I dont think it is possible as connecting one R/3 Source System to two BW Systems.

         info area , info object , and info cube when i am moving next step create source system ,info source , and assigning data source its totally different from bw 3.5 how can i create these three can any body send any document or any link or any pdf files realated to bw 7.0.

To Load Master data
Creation Of DataSource.
In the left panel select DataSource
Create application component (AC)
Right click AC and create DataSource
Specify data source name, source system, and data type (master data attributes / text / hierarchies)
In general tab give short, medium, and long description.
In extraction tab specify file path, header rows to be ignored, data format (csv) and data separator( , )
In proposal tab click load example data and verify it.
In field tab you can you can give the technical name of info objects in the template and you not have to map during the transformation the server will automatically map accordingly. If you are not mapping in this field tab you have to manually map during creation of the transformation in InfoProviders.
Activate DataSource and click read preview data under preview tab to see DATA.
Create InfoPackage by right clicking DataSource and in schedule tab click start to load data to PSA.( make sure to close the flat file during loading )
4) Creation of data targets
In left panel select InfoProvider
Select created InfoArea and right click to select Insert Characteristics as info provider
Select required InfoObject
Under that InfoObject select subtype as attributes / Text / Hierarchies
Right click on attributes / Text / Hierarchies and select create transformation.
In source of transformation, select object type ( DataSource ) and specify its name and source system ( Note: Source system will be a temporary folder or package into which data is getting stored. )
Activate created transformation
Create Data transfer process (DTP) by right clicking the master data attributes
In extraction tab specify extraction mode ( full /delta )
In update tab specify error handling ( request green/request green/ Deactivated/ No update No reporting )
Activate DTP and in execute tab click execute button to load data in data targets. Monitor the request
Go to InfoProvider and right click the InfoObject and select Maintain master data tab to see whether data has been uploaded or not.

can anybody tell me the procedure for creating source system in BW3.5 using automatic method at this time i create and assign logical system in both BW and R3 system and create Background users in BW system now my confusions are
1 Is this nessory that i create a diffrent user which is not dialog user in BW or R3 and
2 Thing is this nessorry that no pre created RFC connection present in R3

hi,
i m listing down the steps with brief description, check if you r going that way.
1.you have same background user in BW and R/3 with proper autho.
2.you created new source system in RSA13, selecting first option of automatic creation.
3.you fill in all details correctly in popup window "Create R/3 Source System", that comes up.
4.pressing ok, it will ask you to log in as admin in target system. Before loggin in check client no, it may be diff e.g. 000, then change it to yr system client no.
5.next it will give you RFC destinations screen. goto tab "Logon/Security", give password for the user thr. save the changes.
6.you can check the connection by clicking "Test Connection" and try also "Remote Logon". If your password is correct, then it will log you in the system.
7.now everything is setup, so comeback. It will ask you to replicate/activate datasources from the source sytem. Click "Replicate as Well".
pls mark question answered, if you have no further doubts
Now it is finished.

Creating source system in RSA1

Im trying to create a source system in the TC RSA1 between R/3 PRO y BW PRO. But at the end of the process it sent me the message Source system already exists. There is no other source system for R/3 created. What can it be?

Goto sm59 and delete the logical system for the R/3 system and retry the steps again.

The steps for creating source system (automatic option in RSA1)is as follows:
1.Create remote logons in both the systems.
2.RSA1 -> Source system -> Create source system -> automatic creation
3. Enter the details of the R/3 system and the Remote logon ids of both the system. In case you are using BI 3.5 or greater + R/3 4.7 or greater the password is "case sensitive" hence have all the passwords in CAPS.
4. Now the system would create a remote logon and show up the remote logon screen. In that screen -> "logon and security" -> enter the remote logon id and password and save. Now the remote logon should not work from there.
The connection is established.

Error creating source systems

Hi,
We have R/3 4.6C and BI7.0 in our landscape.
When i tried to create source system in BI to R.3 4.6C, its not able to create.
It giving error "RFC user logon failed". But all the RFC users password is correct and i have tested it.
I have created successfully with the same RFC user between BI and SRM.
Can anyone tell me what the problem could be and guide be in this regard.

Problem solved.
R/3 4.6C was sending the password in upper case, despite entering it in lower case.
Solution: changed the ALEREMOTE password in BI to be uppercase.
"Message "Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)" appears when trying to log on to an SAP system, even when the password is known to be correct. You are trying to log on to an ERP2005 or higher using a set of SAPGui controls that cannot handle case-sensitive passwords. The SAPGui controls are converting the password you type to upper-case, even when the password is lower-case.
Change the user password to upper-case (from the initial SAPGui screen or from transaction SU01)."

Trouble in creating source system

Hi,Alles.
I want to create a source system(R/3) for BW, I create a new background user'SYS100' in client 100(R/3), then I create source system in BW,after inputed all parameters and continue to logon R/3 system, a window jumped out'User already exists in source system,Only continue if profile and password are correct.' I selected 'Continue'.Then window displayed 'RFC destination already exists in source system,Do you want to use this destination, check, or cancel source system connection?',I selected 'check',it displayed that 'the system already exist' is the BW self system(can't be changed and deleted).What the reason? Give me some hints,Thanks.
