Unable to Create Windows 8.1 Install Disk

Trying to get Windows 2.1 up and running on my early 2011 MBP. After downloading the Windows 8.1 .iso and inserting my 16 GB flash drive (which should be large enough), I open up Boot Camp the option "Create a Windows 7 or later install disk", that i see on all the youtube tutorials doesn't even appear.
I have tried everything, dowloaded the trial from Microsoft's website, burn the Iso fila into a CD...
But nothing makes the "Create a Windows 7 or later install disk" appear!

You can burn the ISO to a DVD (not a CD) and make sure you verify before it is burned. This is the recommended method. You need to ensure that the burn speed matches what the media will support.
Disk Utility 12.x: Burn a disk image to a CD or DVD
You can also verify if the ISO is complete using Microsoft FCIV tool.

Signing in with a new ID creates a new iCloud account.  However, each device is limited in the number of iCloud accounts that it is allowed to create.  Once you reach that limit, you cannot create another account.  All you can do is re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account to use on another iOS device or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher), if you have one.

  • Fit Image CS4: Error: Unable to create Window - OS error [1400]:210

    Hi there,
I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit Photoshop CS4 Extended and have come across a problem with the Automate/Fit Image script. I have read the other posts here concerning a bug in the script, but I'm not even getting to the stage of the script giving me any options to run - I just get the following in a Script Alert message box: Fit Image CS4: Error: Unable to create Window - OS error [1400]:210
I can see that the script is in the Presets/Scripts directory OK. Anyone with any ideas please?

Thanks for that reply. I tried this again and it's working now. The only thing I can think of is that I have closed and opened Photoshop a number of times since having the problem and that may have fixed it.
I find that if I am doing a lot of work in quick mask mode on large images with the pen tool, after a while, Photoshop starts to develop a very significant lag time, taking a number of seconds to draw the next point or respond to the tool (I'm on Vista 64 bit with 12 GBs of RAM, so it shouldn't be RAM, GeForce 8800 GTS video card 640MB dedicated video memory). I find that I have to frequently close Photoshop to get the tool response time back to normal. Perhaps the inability to draw a dialog box was somehow linked with this kind of problem....

  • Windows 7 Pro Install disk not recognized

    Hi everyone,
I have checked this forum and found several discussions regarding this topic but no clear solution.  I am trying to create a Windows 7 Boot Camp partition on my late 2008 MacBook Pro.  I have a DVD drive with the following specs:
    MATSHITADVD-R   UJ-868:
      Capacity: 3.22 GB (3224993792 bytes)
      Model: MATSHITADVD-R   UJ-868
      Revision: KB19
      Serial Number: dE018A75
My problem is that my drive/computer will not recognize the disk.  I have several times inserted the autentic Windows 7 Pro install disc that I puchased from Microsoft, only to get the following error in Boot Camp: Install Disk Could Not Be Found
I should mention that I have installed windows with this install disc on this computer with the existing DVD drive before. I have no idea why it is not working this time!
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Have you tried to install without the driver? then install the boot camp drivers after Windows has been installed.

  • Unable to create Windows Guest

    Hello,
    I have OVM Server 2.2 (2.6.18-128.2.1.4.9.el5xen), running ovs-agent-2.3-31. I have OVM Manager installed on OEL 5.3 x64.
I am able to create an OEL 5.3x64 guest via ISO file with no issues.
I am not able to create a Windows 2003 32bit or 64bit guest. I have been searching here, metalink, google... but not finding what the issue might be (though I have found useful information).
    Looking at log files:
    /var/log/ovs-agent/ovs_operation.log --> reports success
    /var/log/ovs-agent/ovs_root.log --> reports success
/var/log/xen/qemu-dm-72_bbrookodr10.log reports issue (unfortunately not sure what it means):

platform_fixed_ioport: changed ro/rw state of ROM memory area. now is ro state.
I believe this is the cause for my issue because it is unable to create the VM completely, which causes it to poweroff. And as I see in the /var/log/xen/xend.log
XendDomainInfo.create says to destroy if poweroff.
Any thoughts on what I am missing?
    Thanks.

  • Windows 7 bootable install disk?

When I got my new T530 Win 7 Pro x64 a month or so ago, I didn't think to ask if I could get an installer disk should I be forced to reinstall from scratch. I'm not having a problem mind you, but I would feel a lot more comfy if I had such an install disk, not least for any future problem, for example, where I might have to boot to it or the like. Just sayin'
I'm assuming here that I might not be able to boot the laptop any other way. Is such a disk available? I don't want to BUY the OS again, I just want a bootable install disk for my legal OS for emergencies. If  not, is there another way to do this?
    TIA

  • Top 2 workable way to Create Windows 7 Password Reset Disk in any condition

This article describes how to create and use a Windows 7 password reset disk for a computer before and after you forgot the password. You can use Windows 7 password reset CD to gain access to your computer.
Scenario 1: I dont forget the password yet.
Windows 7 has its own backup feature, and you can proactively create a Windows 7 password reset disk before you forget it. With it, you can easily reset your Windows 7 password and get right into your PC.
Follow the easy steps below to create a password reset disk to your own Windows 7 account. Heres how:
Note that this procedure requires one blank, formatted floppy disk.
    1. Click on "Start"->"Control"->"User Accounts and Family Safety"->"User Accounts".
    2. In the task pane, click "Create a password reset disk". The "Forgotten Password Wizard" appears.
    3. Click "Next", and then choose the portable media drive.
    4. Click "Next", and then enter your current password in the next box and click "Next".
    5. Windows 7 begin to create the password reset disk on your chosen media. When the progress bar reaches 100% complete, click "Next" and then click "Finish".
    6. Now you can remove your device and store the disk in a safe place. Once you forget the password in the future, you can take it out.
Follow the easy steps below to use a password reset disk to recover Windows 7 password. Heres how:
    1. The created password disk can now be used during log-ins to reset the password. A reset password link appears on the account screen after an unsuccessful attempt to log in.
    2. Click on "Rest Password", and the "Password Reset Wizard" dialog opens. Here you need to insert the reset disk to the PC.
    3. Follow the wizard to type a new password twice to make sure you type the correct password. You are suggested to create a new password hint, so that you can remember the password with it if you forget it.
    4. Windows switches to the Windows log-in screen again where you can use the new password to log in.
Scenario 2: I have already forgotten the password.
If you have already forgotten your Windows 7 password but dont have a password reset disk at hand, you can choose another way to reset the password.
Here is how to create Windows 7 password reset CD/USB:
    1. This procedure needs a CD or USB flash drive. Insert your media device into another computer which can access to system as administrator.
    2. Launch Windows 7 password reset disk software. On the main interface, choose "reset Windows local account password".
    3. Choose your target device, and click "Burn" to start Windows 7 password reset disk creation.
Here is how to reset Windows 7 password:
    1. With this Windows 7 Password Reset USB software, boot the computer that you want to reset the password for.
    2. Under Windows PE, you enter the main interface of this software. Choose your Windows system, and select the user account you need to reset password.
    3. Click "Reset", and then "Yes" & "OK" sequentially to finish removing Windows 7 password.
Quite easy, isn't it? After fully control system password reset, you will never worry about your bad memory

  • Unable to create "filename.dmg" (error -60008) {Disk Utility Problem}

    Hi:
I’ve used Disk Utilities awesome capabilities many times, but am now running into my first real problem.
I am trying to create a 100 GB new blank disk image, using the “Mac OS Extended (Journaled) option for format, 256-bit AES encryption, a single partition-Apple Partition Map, and Image Format as read/write disk image.
When I implement this, it asks for the AES password then repeatedly crashes, albeit in slightly different ways each time. The most informative was a Unable to create “filename.dmg” (error -60008) message. I can’t find anything explanatory about this in Google
I’m wondering if this has something to do with my upgrade to Lion (OS 10.7.4) yesterday from Snow Leopard.
This error occurs on both my home and work iMacs. It seems to reliably occur about 1/2 way through typing in my password. The error occurs whether I use 128 or 256 AES encryption.
There is more than adequate space on the hard drive I am attempting to place this image on. Disk Utility is version 12.1.1 (353) and all is running on a 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5 iMac.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
PS: This is a duplicate post from the OS Lion forums ( https://discussions.apple.com/message/18410534#18410534 ), but since a) it occurs on both my Intel iMacs, b) I totally rely on Disk Utility's capabilities, so this loss with the Lion upgrade really hurts, and c) we've had no luck in the Lion forums, we're hoping someone here has seen this issue and can help. Much appreciated.

Hello, I believe that's an authentication error, thinks your not an admin account. Might try this...
Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, move this folder to the Desktop for now...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ByHost /
    reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • Unable to create system performance counter SharePoint Disk-Based Cache - SharePoint 2010 SP2 Farm

    Hi,
I'm getting this in my Trace Logs:
Performance Counter OS (pdh) call failed with error code PDH_CSTATUS_BAD_COUNTERNAME
PDH failure on counter <serverName>\Sharepoint Disk-Based Cache\Blob Cache hit ration with Unknown error (0x0000bc0)
Unable to create system performance counter <ServerName>\SharePoint Disk-Based Cache\\Blob Cache fill ratio
Unable to create system performance counter <ServerName>\SharePoint Disk-Based Cache\\Total Blob Size
There are bunch of them from SharePoint Disk-Based Cache counter that its trying to create but they cannot be used.
I've logged on to the server as a farm admin, which has full farm permissions, local admin and runs OWSTIMER.EXE service, but I was not able to add the counters myself. I've read few posts here on TechNet but no one answered on how to enable/recreate these
performance counters. I would like to resolve this if its possible.

I could not find the reason why those SharePoint Performance Counters were not on the WFE servers so I just disabled the "Diagnostic Data Provider: Performance Counters - Web Front Ends" in the Central Admin > Monitoring > Job Definitions.

  • How to Create a Windows 7 USB install disk

If you want to install Windows from a USB drive, you'll need the Boot Camp Assistant (version 4.0.1) and a MacBook Air. I don't know why it won't let you do it on other Macs and MacBooks (the option still shows up, only it's greyed out) - if you made it work on anything other than a MacBook Air, let me know how you did it. So, besides that, you also need an empty USB drive and a genuine Windows ISO file.
However, if in your case the Windows USB creation option is greyed out, this is what you can do:
You create the Windows installation USB, using one of these two ways (I used the first one):
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd535816.aspx
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
You create the Windows partition with BCA.
In System Settings, you choose the newly created BOOTCAMP partition as the startup disk and restart your Mac.
Have your Windows USB inserted before your Mac restarts.
As soon as your Mac boots from the BOOTCAMP partition, it should start loading Windows Setup from the USB drive.
I have an early 2009 MacBook and these steps worked for me. It's a workaround... but it works. Let me know if it worked for you.
    * If none of this works for you, there is another workaround, using 3rd party software (rEFIt). However, I don't recommend using it, unless you know what you're doing.
    * Disclaimer - This info comes as is and I do not guarantee that it will work for you. Nor do I guarantee that it will not cause any malfunction to occur on your Mac computer.

you restart your mac and as soon as it boots up (usually you hear the dvd making a noise, or the gong sound), you hold down the Alt key until you see a screen that shows you all the partitions/drives you can boot from. you select the boot camp one, while the windows usb installation disk is inserted and it should boot up from the usb. it worked for me, but I can't guarantee it will work for you too... depending on your model. mine is an early-2009 macbook.

  • Can't create Windows 7 USB boot disk

Hello, I searched but can't find a problem like mine:
    My configuration:
    iMax 24 early 2009
    Lion 10.7.2
    Boot Camp 4.0.1
    Broken Superdrive
In Boot Camp Assistant there's the possibility to create a bootable usb disk from a Windows 7 ISO.
I plugged a 32gb usb disk formatted fat32 (but tried NTFS also) and have my Windows 7 iso ready in download folder, but when I start Boot Camp Assistant the first choice to create the usb boot disk is shaded. I can't select it.
Thanks for your help and hello from Italy!

    I've a Macbook pro 13,3" 2,8Ghz I7 with 4gb ram (oktober 2011)

  • Unable to create RAID - "could not unmount disk"

I'm trying to create a concatenated RAID set from two drives. I can select the drives and individually unmount them using Disk Utility, and they disappear from the desktop. But when I try and create a RAID using the two drives, it tells me it can't because it is unable to unmount the disk.
    Any ideas?

It appears that this is possible - in one case. If your system drive has been partitioned into multiple volumes, a volume from that drive can be used as part of a RAID (along with a volume from another drive) if you did not boot from the drive. Haven't tried booting from the Tiger DVD, but may just for fun. Follow all the other advise in this and similar threads though - don't expect a mirror (RAID 1) to provide back up and don't build a RAID 0 stripe using the partition that contains your boot OS.
