Unable to display the ClobDomain value in adf table

Hi ,
I have a database table whose column is Clob. Accordingly the Entity Attribute and VO attribute are of type. oracle.jbo.domain.ClobDomain
Now this VO is wired as a ADF Table in jsff page. I am setting the value programmatically inside the AM by using the following.
//Code inside AM
String text="some xml";
ClobDomain clobval=new ClobDomain(text.toString())
vo.setAttribute("atrName",clobVal);
Now at the UI level, I was able to print the value of the attribute inside a bean code. However, in the adf table, this cell is always empty. But if i try to set the value through UI then it works.
If i make the inputText readonly then it displays the value.
Am i missing something.

Try using SELECT_TEXT in place of READ_TEXT.

Unable to set the selected value for a ADF LOV

Hi,
I am developing an application using jdeveloper 10.1.3 and Struts.
I have created a ADF LOV on my JSP Page as given below:
<html:select property="lob" onchange="javascript:selectLOB(this.form)">
<html:optionsCollection label="prompt" value="index" property="lob.displayData"/>
</html:select>
When i submit the form, i am able to get the value of the selected Value in the List.
JUCtrlListBinding listBinding = (JUCtrlListBinding) formBean.get("Lob");
Row r = (Row) listBinding.getSelectedValue();
String SoLob = (String) r.getAttribute("LobLob");
But i am unable to set the selected value back in the list when i return to the form again.
I tried the following:
int x = listBinding.getSelectedIndex();
listBinding.setSelectedIndex(x);
It would be really helpful if some one could let me know what needs to be done.

I tried with the code you suggest , its trying to set the value of a field, but my requirement is to change the property for
"Rendered" on the field so that based on search parameters we can hide result table column.
After searching online, I modified the controller code as follows
1.Created a new transient attribute (Testrender) with type "Boolean" and always updateable.
2.changed the "Rendered" property value on the field I want to hide as ${oa.PoSearchVO1.Testrender}.
3. Modified the controller code as follows :
        OAApplicationModule am = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
        OAViewObject testvo = (OAViewObject)am.findViewObject("PoSearchVO1");
        OADBTransaction txn = am.getOADBTransaction();
        if (testvo != null)
          OARow row = (OARow)testvo.first();
            if (a.equalsIgnoreCase("Approved"))
                 row.setAttribute("Testrender", Boolean.FALSE);
            else
                 row.setAttribute("Testrender", Boolean.TRUE);
        } But now when i run the page and populate the search field and click "Go" its hiding the field but throwing the following error and the search results are also bad.
Its using only the value of one search parameter but not the second one .
The search cannot be executed because the table has pending changes that would be lost. I think the vo is getting dirty when I update the transient attribute value. So I used txn.rollback ,then search is working fine but its not hiding the field.
So can you please let me know how to proceed from here ?

Not to display the null values from data base

Hiiii.
In a jsp file i have ten check boxes.The jsp file is mapped to a servlet file for parameter requesting and to
store it in DB.
The unchecked box values has null values.All the values are store in a Mysql DB table.
Again i have to display it in a jsp page from table.
The problem am facing was,how can i display only the values in a row.it must not display the null values and the crresponding column name.
Or any other way is their like below
How i can retrieve only the selected check boxes from tht jsp file.and store in backend.

Here is a rough example that may give you some ideas:
On the JSP page:

Hi Arun,
Try this.
1, Set one dynamic parameter,
2, Drag and drop that parameter into your report title.
3, Pass the value(sort value) dynamically from your application,
4, Cheers..
Other wise Try with Dataset, create a dataset and fill thev alue into that.. Then set the data source from CR designer. and darg and drop that data column into the report.

I'm currently converting the input raw signal to a Units (Engineering) value and then looking up the actual value (from a calibration chart) using a CHOOSE statement in order to display the actual value on a panel, but I need to display the values output by the CHOOSE statement on a HyperTrend graph, along with other similar values.
How can I do this?

Unable to get the selection value of OAMessageChoiceBean

Hi,
From our 11i to R12 upgrade, in Customer Advance Search page, we are unable to get the proper handle for OAMessageChoiceBean (in extendedCO).
The code snippet for handling the bean is as follows:
OAMessageChoiceBean PartyStatusFilter = (OAMessageChoiceBean)vOAPageContext.getRootWebBean().findChildRecursive("xxfeF426PartySearchStatus");
String xxTest= PartyStatusFilter.getSelectionValue(vOAPageContext);
The value for above xxTest (in R12 env.) is coming as null. Whereas, the same code is working in 11i enviroment and the output of xxTest="A".
Hence, we are unable to get the selection value of the messagechoicebean in our R12 environment. Moreover, I've already looked into similar previous posts of this forum, also tried using getSelectionText(vOAPageContext) or getSelectedValue(), but it didn’t worked too.
Any pointers please?

Unable to read the total value.

Hi guys,
I am able to get the total for alv table column.. but i want to display the total value in some other text view field.
In order to do that... first i have to read the total value, and have to set the same to text view field,
total value is of type ( DATA: LV_AGGR_RULE TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_AGGR_RULE. )
but my text view field attribute is of STRING TYPE.
So am getting conversion error. Pleas help me in this.

Try to loop your internal table on the column "Amount" and make a sum for that particular column, u will get the required sum Amount..

MS Notepad unable to display the Chinese characters I type and display them as squares

MS Notepad is unable to display the Chinese characters I type and display them as squares. But when I copy those squares on notepad to Wordpad or MS Word, they display the Chinese characters just fine. I've no idea why those Chinese characters I type can't display properly on notepad. I check the font of the notepad and it's the default. I've another Windows Vista desktop computer which has notepad of the similar setting and display Chinese characters just fine. Both are using Chinese (Simplified) - Microsoft Pinyin New Experience Input Style to input those characters. But I don't understand why my Windows 7 is facing this problem.

Notepad is a very simple text editor BUT it will work if you use the SAME language in Windows. Please try:
1. go to control panel, click "Clock, Language, and Region"
2. click "Change location" under the "Region" section
3. go to the "administrative" tab, then click "change system locale...", then select "Chinese".

How do I display the correct value when using SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY

I have an updatable report that displays the possible values for a field.
I'm using HTMLDB_ITEM.SELECT_LIST_FROM_QUERY, so obviously I have to process the record manually.
However, I need the trick to display the correct value as selected before processing the records.

How to get edited row values from ADF table?

JDev 11.
I have a table which is populated with data from Bean.
I need to save changes after user make changes in any table cell. InputText is defined for table column component.
I have defined ValueChangeListener for inputText field and AutoSubmit=true. So when user change value in inputText field, method is called:

SaveMaterial(material);
This method should call getSelectedRow which take values from selected table row and save them into object:

Problem is that getSelectedRow method doesnt get new (edited) values, old values are still used.
I have tried to use ActiveButton with same method and it works fine in that case. New values are selected from active row and inserted into object.

Did you look into the valueChangeEvent?
It has oldValue and newValue attributes.
