Hi, I am a new apple user. Just down loaded iphoto 6.0.1. But when I try choose the path to install it. It shows a red sign and will not allow me to continue install it. Can some one please help me? I bought the ibook for my camera. Really need to install iphoto to edit the pictures, thx.

Does the ibook have a version of iPhoto on it now? It would be in the applications folder. If it doesn't have iPhoto on it, then you would need to purchase iLife in order to install the iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iWeb, Garageband, and iTunes)
If the iBook has a version of iPhoto on it that is 2, 4, or 5, then you would still need to buy iLife to install iPhoto 6.

I've formated and installed Mountain Lion. Unfortunately every time I try to install iPhoto from the App store it starts the download goes up to 10MB and goes to zero. After three times it gives up and tells me that there is an error and I should try again from purchases.
This also happens with others like garage band etc.
I can use it to install others like Xcode without a problem.

I am unable to find my iPhoto installation. I did an OS re-install some time back, but I don't remember if the iPhoto was missing prior to the install. Also, the App Store shows me the Accept button on the tool and when I click on it, there is a message saying, Future Versions of the Software are Available through Update.
Any Idea what this is about, and how can I get back iPhoto on my device.

The "solution" misses the point of the problem.
The Java runtime won't install because of some phanton network connection problem. The network works just fine for everything else, but this dialogue box ("To open “Dreamweaver,” you need to install a Java runtime, but you are not connected to the Internet.") keeps popping up, and then you are stuck.

The highest OS X version you can install on your model iMac is OS X Lion 10.7.5.
To get to this! you would need to purchase the retail OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD, first.

Unable to install newest version of iPhoto (7.0.1)

I have just attempted to install iPhoto 7.0.1 but get the message that my software, iPhoto 6.0.6 is ineligible for update.
Can anyone suggest why?

You need to have iPhoto 7.0 (part of iLife '08) to install 7.0.1.

But on the outside chance that you have not tried everything have you rebuilt from all of the available options (except compacting the database)?
Have you used iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild?
Have you created a new user and tested from that new user?
Have you reinstalled iPhoto?

Unable to run iphoto after upgdare

hi,
recently I have upgraded to iLife 11, and after that and software upgrade I am unable to launch iPhoto.
I am getting error "In order to open iPhoto, you need to update to the latest version.
Please run Software Update to install it now"
however there is no package to be installed in software update.
all were updated already
any idea how to fix this one?

How old is your Mac? If it's very recent you need to update via the App Store
If you purchased at the App Store you need to update via the App Store
Otherwise you update via Softare Update
If you have moved iPhoto from the default location (i.e. into a Folder) then the updater won't find it. Move it back.
If you have renamed iPhoto, the updater won't find it. Change it back.

I am unable to open Iphoto, I get an error message that reads "you cant' open the application because it may be damaged or incomplete. Any thoughts?

Hopefully you have a back-up just in case.
If you have TimeMachine just restore the iPhoto.app
You could also try holding the option-command keys down when you launch iphoto, See if you can repair this way to make it happy- if it is a database problem.
IPhoto is on your install DVD if you need to reinstall a fresh copy of the app.

I upgraded to Mavericks, and now I am unable to update iPhoto. Please advise.

Unable to install iLife '08.mpkg via ARD3.2

I am unable to install iLife '08 on a remote computer using the "Manage > Install Packages..." option.
I've had the same problem with Logic Express 7.2 and Final Cut Express 7.
I've tried it from ARD3.2 on 10.4.11 as well as 10.5.3, installing to both 10.4.11 clients and 10.5.3 clients, and no matter how I try, it never works.
The transfer of the installer(s) seems to work, as it takes quite a while for the several gigs worth of pkgs to be transferred across the network, but the installation always fails.
"iLife '08.mpkg could not be installed. Error message: "Preparing for installation""
I've tried going granular and installing individual packages from within "Show package contents" but those packages are "smart" and won't install unless kicked off from the iLife '08.mpkg.
I'd much prefer to be able to push these softwares out piece by piece via ARD than to have to build them into my base images. Our network is robust enough to handle this kind of bandwidth, and I just don't feel good about building images that are 40GB+ in size (10.5.3, iLife, Logic, Final Cut, Jam Packs, Adobe CS3... these things all add up to enormous images).
Does anyone have advice, recommendations, etc?

Ok so I downloaded the most current installer CS5.1, My previous installer was version 5.0. It did install fine fully updated to my license version. I just wanted to update in case anyone in the future has a similiar experience. Too bad this advice was not offered by the "experts" here.

Unable to install SQL Server CE Server Tool on SQL Server 2000 SP 4

Hi
I am facing problem with installing SQL Server CE Server Tool,
I have installed SQL Server 2000 SP 4 which is working fine.
While i am running Setup of "SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition version 2.0" ,Developer tools installed successfully but incase of SQL Server CE Server Tool i am getting following Error
"SQL Server CE Tool is compatible only with SQL Server 2000 Service pack 1 and higher.
When you install SQL Server CE Server Tools on a computer running both IIS and SQL Server 2000 , ensure the installer for SQL Server CE Server Tools corresponds To the version of SQL Server 2000."
I am sure that i have running SQL Server 2000 SP 4 (MSDE also SP 4) , IIS (Version 5.1) is also working fine , and one more thing i am trying to install SQL Server CE Server Tool setup is "sqlce20sql2ksp4.exe" (Which i downloaded from microsoft site.).Here all the requirement is fulfill but i dont know what is going to wrong.
I wasted my 2 days behind solving this issue , now i am tiered ,So please any one have solution for this issue.
Help me please.
