Can't even make changes to a jpg file and then save it without the program trying to change it to a psd!!!!! No wonder nobody like Adobe anymore.
Do you mean that PSD comes as a default option or that JPEG is not available no matter what?
Did you add a layer? Did you change the bit depth? Did you add transparency? The JPEG format does not support layers, nor 16-bit images, nor transparency.

@Barbara – What purpose is that PDF for? Print? Web?
If web purpose, you could convert CMYK images to sRGB. That would reduce the file size as well.
A final resort to bring down file size is:
1. Print to PostScript
2. Distill to PDF
That would bring file size down even more. About 20%, depending on the images and other contents you are using, compared with the Acrobat Pro method. If you like you could send me a personal message, so we could exchange mail addresses. I could test for you. Just provide the highres PDF without any downsampling and transparency intact. Best provide a PDF/X-4.
I will place the PDF in InDesign, print to PostScript, distill to PDF.

For CS6 is there an easier way to redirect all my files and folders for all of the programs?
Hey adobe people, Im wondering, I know you can setup each preference individually, but I want to redirect all the catched space, storage of brushes, and etc for all my programs into another disk volume as in changing c/ to e/. Is there a way to do this with in one program to make it easier? I don't want to accidently delete files that all the adobe programs can't find.
The reason is I don't want to store anything other then the programs on the SSD, and in theory I want the other drive, so it can run faster.There is no global option for this.

How large should I take the new ill document width x height ?

You can create multi page documents in many versions of Illustrator. How to do it, depends on your version. The search term would be multipage.
Illustrator doesn't have a table feature. So perhaps using InDesign for the job would be a good idea. You can just draw some lines in Illustrator or you can create tables without any lines. This depends on how you want your tables to look. -

I run an iMac. Today for some reason when I run the cursor across the screen applications and files are highlighted and then opened without me doing anything (no clicking etc) In fact print at times opens. As far as I can tell I have not changed any settings except to open firewall.
I run MacKeeper and when I run a scan only a few cleaning items open. Safe and fast are as they should be. I run fix. If I again run the scan I get a few more but different claeing items to fix.
I have rung MacKeeper several times without getting through. The occasion I did get through the bloke said he could not help and passed me to a higher authority. Needless to say the line dropped out after 30 minutes waiting.
As it is the weekend and I do not live near an Apple store I am quite keen to get the problem identified and fixed so I can continue working.

"MacKeeper" has only one useful feature: it deletes itself.
Note: These instructions apply to the version of the product that I downloaded and tested in early 2012. I can't be sure that they apply to other versions.
IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. If you used it to “encrypt” any of your files, “decrypt” them before you uninstall, or (preferably) restore the files from backups made before they were “encrypted.” As the developer is not trustworthy, you should assume that the "decrypted" files are corrupt unless proven otherwise.
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your login password. Click the Uninstall MacKeeper button in the dialog that appears. All the functional components of the software will be deleted. Reboot.
☞ Quit MacKeeper before dragging it to the Trash.
☞ Don't empty the Trash. Let MacKeeper delete itself.
☞ Don't try to drag the MacKeeper Dock icon to the Trash. -
This just started happening and it does not happen every time I do this action. I occasionally get the following message "An incorrect structure was found in the PDF file" and that seems to be part of the issue. Has anyone experienced anything like this?
I found out that if I waited about 15 minutes the PDF file became normal. Thank heavens! I've now sent out my newsletter for my Quilt Club to our 90 e-mail subscribers and all of them I have heard from have gotten it the way I had written it. It must just have been a quirk that happened, but I sure am glad it fixed itself. I only have 5 more newsletters to write and then I am done. Thank Heaven. Thank you for trying to help. I was about to become even more crazed than I get when I have to publish the newsletter. I do it once a month and I never would have volunteered for the 2 year job if I had know how much work it is. My husband walks gently when he knows I am trying to put the newsletter together. I'm not usually crabby, but this has made me a nut case once a month. It's a good thing we've been married for 37 years, so he knows that it is only the "newsletter editor nutty lady" that is getting mad at everything and everyone, including him! Can you actually see that the attachment has a .jpg extension? Some mail systems strip it off (I've seen AOL do that) which makes the attachment difficult to open.

Whenever I open a file in Lion, other files of the same sort that I opened previously automatically open up. For example, if I open a .jpg file, numerous other .jpg files that I opened previously in the day open up. How do I close these files to prevent them from showing up again, like in previous versions?
Dealing With The Resume Feature of Lion
Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it. -

a common problem is that you don't have permission to upload those files, but it is an easy fix
1) Finder
2) Users(it should have the account name on it)
3) pictures
4) right click on iphoto library then click info
5 on the bottom of the new window there should be a sharing and permissions tab
6) make sure you have permission to read & write
The only other problem I can think is that you are having problems with hard drive space. if so you might want to clean up your hard drive to free up some space. please let me know if that worked for you. -
