I'm having a similar issue.
Did a fresh install of 11.2.0.1.0 under Windows 2003 - latest updates - IE 8.
I can access Enterprise Manager from other computers - but not from the local server.
I've tried both: https://oracle.xxxx.xxx:1158/em and https://localhost:1158/em
Both give me the generic "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" - but if I access from another computer it comes up - so I know everything is working...

  • Hyperlink open up a new web browser

    Hello,
I have a Logo that I have hyperlinked to a webpage.  I need to have it open up a new Browser Window instead of changing the page the Logo with Hyperlink is on.
Any tips on how I can make a Logo with a hyperlink open up a new web browser?

I just downloaded Acrobat XI and do not have this orange Hyperlink button.  The only hyperlink tool I can find is the Add or Edit Link button.  I am a teacher for an online school who is creating PPT presentations that I convert to PDFs, and upload them for my students.  When my students open the instructional PDF and then click on a link, it takes them away from the PDF instead of opening a new browser window.  They are very limited computer users, and I need a way to make this work! I've already tried putting in the target=blank code and haven't gotten that to work either.  Can you offer any help?

Is it requried to restart the server???

    Hi,
Please check your event log and see if there is relevant error message.
If you have observed event id 5021 like this "The identity of application pool 625dfcc8e4054c7d8da14feaca288250 is invalid. The user name or password that is specified
for the identity may be incorrect, or the user may not have batch logon rights".
Then the error indicates the issue is caused by either of these:
    1. The account doesn’t have user rights to to “log on as a batch job” and “log on as a service” in group policy.
    2. The account permission is out of sync between SharePoint database and AD.
If not, let me know the event id.

  • Open hyperlinks in a web browser in JavaHelp

    Hi,
I am developing a helpsystem using JavaHelp 1.1.3. The problem is that I am unable to open an external weblink (e.g. www.google.com) in a browser.
When I try to open the weblink the application just hangs.
Please let me know if there is a workaround.
    Regards
    Ravi

The description for Javahelp 2.0 RC says this is because of the sandbox rules that apply within JavaHelp.
You could try setting application policies for the JavaHelp jars/classes.
    hope this helps,

  • Safari doesn't open, computer without other web browser

Safari does not even open, simply quits unexpectedly within a few seconds. I have no other web browsers downloaded.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
If Safari crashes on launch and you don't have another web browser, you should be able to launch Safari by starting up in safe mode.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
After removing the malware, remember to reset your home page in all the web browsers affected, if it was changed.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • I am unable to open my iWeb-created web site, for which I have a backup.

My web site is online and I want to access it to make changes. It does not appear when I open iweb, but I have a backup copy on my desktop. When I move backup onto icon for iweb, it doesn't open it. How can I open it again? Since my last opening of it, I've installed the new OS-X software - 10.9
I'm not very computer literate, but I did download the file:
    file:///Users/monicaanderson/.Trash/iWeb%20Switch%20Domain.app/
    file:///Users/monicaanderson/.Trash/iWebDrop%2013-50-25-235.app/
I copied these links from my download folder and neither would open.
Can anyone help me -- in simple terms
    Thank you

iWeb has no import facility, so is unable to open any published website at all.
All the data from your iWeb sites is stored in what is called your domain.sites files.  These can be located under your User Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.  Find this file and double click it and iWeb will open it.
The User Library is hidden in Mavericks, so to display it you need to click on the Go menu at the top and then click the alt key and your User Library will then be displayed and then you need to go to Application Support and then iWeb and then you will find your domain.sites files from there.
If you can't find these files, then you are looking at re-building your site from scratch and there is no way in which you can alter your site because unfortunately the backup of your site that you need is your domain.sites files and not a published version - this is not good in iWeb because iWeb has no import facility so cannot open it.

  • Issue with opening pdf file from web browser

I have Acrobat Pro ver 6 and Adobe Reader 9.1 on a computer.  when my user tries to open up a pdf from the web he is getting the following error message:
"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a WEb Browser.  Adbe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required.  Please exit and try again."
What also happens is that Acrobat Pro ver 6 opens up and nothing is there.
I am not sure why he is getting that message since Reader 9.1 is installed.
Can any one shed some light on this for me.
This user needs to have Acrobat and Reader on his system.  I understand that there are issues with having both.
Also he has it set up so that any PDF is opening using the Reader 9.1.
    Thanks,

Your PC's default reader configuration for embedded PDFs has become confused, due to multiple Adobe PDF document solutions installed on one PC.
    Solution 1:
    Go to Start > Run
    Type regedit and click OK.
Browse to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe
Make sure that the correct Default data value is set for the path where Adobe Reader or Acrobat are installed.
    The default installation values are:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe"
    or
"C:\Program Files\adobe\acrobat 6.0\acrobat\Acrobat.exe" (not sure about this path.  Check on your PC to be sure)
depending on whether Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat is installed.
    Solution 2:
Configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application.
If you are using Firefox to browse the web, you can change this setting in Firefox by going to:
    Tools > Options
    Click on the "Applications" Tab.
The first item in the list should be "Adobe Acrobat Document".  Under the Action list, click the drop down arrow and select the application you want to read PDFs within the web browser.  Click OK, and you should be done.
If you're using Internet Explorer to view PDFs, try the below steps.
After you configure Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application, the browser starts the helper application in a separate window and displays PDF files within that window. Acrobat and Adobe Reader both include a preference that lets you specify Acrobat or Adobe Reader as the helper application.
To configure Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application:
    Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
    Choose Edit > Preferences.
    Select Internet on the left.
Deselect Display PDF In Browser Using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.
    Quit Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
The next time you select a link to a PDF file in the browser, a dialog box asks what you would like to do with the file. If you select Open It, the browser opens the PDF file in Acrobat or Adobe Reader (the helper application); if you select Save It To Disk, the browser saves the PDF file to your hard drive.

  • Unable to Open PDF Document on Web

Somebody, please help me since Adobe refused to unless I pay $39.
When I try to open a PDF document on the internet, I get the following error message:
    "ACROBAT PLUG-IN
The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser.
Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."
I have Acrobat 8 Professional installed running on Windows Vista OS. This error/message started not long ago. I do not know what I did to cause it.
Please, you Adobe guru guy, help me now.
Thank you VERY much in advance.
    JT

PDF files should be forward compatible, but not backward compatible. Thus, AA5 PDFs should still be fine. If there is a problem, it is likely they have been corrupted. You can open the PDF in a text editor (such as notepad) and look at how it starts. It should be something like "%PDF-1.4" where the %PDF-1.4 at the beginning provides the version number. If you do not see this form of the first 8 characters, then you do not have a PDF or the PDF is corrupt. The latter could happen depending on the manner in which you transferred the file to view. DO NOT Save the file from the editor.
A common mistake is to post PDFs with FTP using ascii. Unfortunately, only the 1st 8 characters are necessarily ascii and the rest may be binary -- the issue that messes up many e-mail programs that only check the first few characters for the ascii nature.
Hopefully that gives some thoughts of use.

    any body know this?

    Hi Rick,
Did this issue occur with all the files?
If yes, I recommend to verify the things below:
Check if the Office Web Apps feature is activated on the site collection.
Check if the Office Web Apps service applications and proxies have been created.
Check if the Office Web Apps service applications and proxies are associated with the proxy group of the Web application that the site collection belongs to.
Check if the service account permissions for the Web application and the Office Web Apps services are appropriate.

  • Error in opening Enterprise Manager on 10gR1, RHEL4 AS

    Please help.
After successfully installing Oracle10gR1 I opened a web browser and opened

and I login successfully. But after I reboot the PC, when I went to the above

    Hi,
I have removed the database and oracle software and
just reinstalled it. As of now, I can still access
the Console Home page, what settings or data should I
get so that when I restart the system I would still
be able to access the Console Home page?
    Thanks and Best Regards
Dexter KwanI think I have specified this to you yesterday. If you want the console home page start when you reboot your system you have to manipulate your /etc/init.d/dbora.
Look at that file (dbora) you created when you completed the installation. You just need to be a little bit more creative. Just look at how the start the lsnrctl and I already showed you the command to start the dbconsole.
I know you can do it.

  • Error when opening page with the web browser activex

I have downloaded the example for using the web browser activeX component to display a web page. It basically works, but it keeps returning an error (from NI's web site) that I don't see when opening the site from IE. The message I get is:

    Mike,
It looks like ni.com is not supplying that particular console object which is causing an issue with the embedded instance of IE9. Every other website I've tried works correctly. I've looked around the ActiveX methods to intercept and ignore this error, but I haven't found anything yet.

  • Open about:config on web browser

I would like to open the advanced configuration on my web browser for Firefox OS. I have tried typing about:config into the Awesome bar, and then either keying 'enter' or using the Go arrow, to no result.
The following answer seems to imply that this is possible in Firefox for Android:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/960501#answer-440285

The about:config "page" definitely exists in both desktop and Android versions of Firefox. However, when I search for about:config in the Firefox OS source code site, I don't find anything but a single comment. It sounds as though that particular page is not used on Firefox OS. Maybe there's a new name for it?

I would like to be able to click on a link in the browser (Safari or FireFox) and view the document. This works for the http protocol but I can't get it to work for SMB on OS X. See the examples below. The first example works but the second example requires and actual SMB file share.

This is how we share documents and it Works on MS Windows in IE, anyone know if this is possible on OS X?

The following will open the IE web browser and browse to the given URL:
    System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("explorer.exe", @"http://www.microsoft.com");
    ...or file:
    System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(@"iexplore.exe", @"C:\test\test.html");
Using another browser is just a matter of specifying the path to it, e.g:
