Unable to print -- printer not installed msg

I am trying to print a psd file via CS4 and I am receiving the following error message:
Before you can perform printer-relate tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer
I DO have a printer installed and can in fact print out a different psd file.....and print something via Word.
I tried to check my page setup for this document but I can't do that either.
Any ideas of what might be causing this problem?? I even uninstalled and reinstalled my printer.....and rebooted too. If it matters, I am trying to print to a Canon MP980 printer via a wireless setup. I am running under Vista.

I'm not sure if this will help but a similar thing occurs for me. I formally had an Epson R1800 and recently purchased an R1900 as a replacement. Now any files that I printed, in the past, on the old printer receive the same massage as you get. My only work-a-round is to open a new psd in the same resolution and size as the file I want to print. I drag the file that will not print into the new file and then print with no problem.
Seems the old file remembers the old printer and refuses to be printed on new one. Vista & CS4 here also.

Im using three NTYRE architecture when i have to run my application on 128kbps leazed line network across 30 units,requirement is to generate text output at the client side for printing some report formats in character mode.
im trying to generate a text file on server and then download to local machine for printing .but reports server gives an error printer not installed,
i have checking administrative security probs in WINNT ,
pls suggest or is there any other way to generate text reports in NTIER arch.

You may want to check if a printer is installed in your WinNt system. Reports picks up font information from the default
printer installed in the system when we attempt to generate to file.

HP PSC 1410 All in one Printer not installed

In windows 8 after complete and lastest installation of Driver of HP PSC 1410v All in one, in the Control Pannel, Device and Printer Tab only scanner icon is showing no any printer icon and no other HP Icon, so i can use scanner only of this model but not printer. After reading suggestions I install the windows 7 driver in windows 8 after solution of fatel error here is also only scanner is showing no facility for printing, please help me where I am wrong or whats solution fast plzzzzzz.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you would like to install your HP PSC 1410 to your computer running the Windows 8 Operating system. You tried downloading the Windows 7 driver but are now getting a fatal error. Please go ahead and start with the steps listed below:
1. Unplug the USB if using a direct connection.
2. Remove the HP PSC 1410 software from your computers Control Panel's Uninstall a program option.
3. Restart the computer.
4. Make sure ALL the PSC 1410 software is gone from the programs list as well as your HP folder listed under the All programs in your Start Menu.
5. Now go ahead and download the software and drivers for your PSC 1410 (DO NOT plug in USB until the software prompts you to):

Brother Printer not installing on mountain lion- multiple machines

I can't get the drivers/printer to install on my mac Mini running 10.8.2 I keep getting this error:
Can't install the software for the Brother MFC-7840W because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
I also tried DLing the drivers directly from Brother and installing, but to no avail. Similar problem with my iMac.

Ok, found it from the UK site version. You need to set Gatekeeper to "Anywhere" in System Preferences first and reboot.
It is a outdated model, so hope this works.

Unable to print after installing the new Quicktime upgrade

I can not print to my Epson printer after installing the new Quicktime upgrade on my PowerBook G4 (1.67 GHz, OS X Version 10.4.11). I have re-installed the driver from Epson (several times), and have safe booted and reset my permissions but it will not print. My printer is a Epson Stylus Photo R1800. When I print, it just gives me this message... "Looking for Printer 'EPSON Stylus Photo R1800' "

I installed my acrobat version 8 standard and activated however the printer did not install. The download was successful but we have no printer icon to select to convert files to PDF. Can you help with why the printer did not install. we have windows 7 op system

Sorry ! - you seems a little un-clear about what you are really doing and what your problem really is.
Your headline says Acrobat.com your text Adobe.com , you tell you clicked on the file for a pdf page but not where it is that you are clicking , then tells you are stuck and that you are waiting for Acrobat 8..........

20225 error port and printer not installed

I installed Adobe Pro 7 on my new system with windows 7 on it and received a 20225 error port & printer not insatlled. How do I fix this?

Acrobat 7 has not been tested and is unsupported on Windows 7 machine.
Please considring purchasing the latest Acrobat 11 subscription.

I can no longer print using wifi. I have to connect a USB cable to print. Setup and pref show that I should be able to print wireless but I keep getting printer not found msg when trying.

I can no longer print via wifi. I could at one time but now I have to connect to printer with USB. All settings appear correct in printer and macbook. Sys pref shows printer with green light next to idle. Sending a print prompt results in "searching for printer, printer not found, ensure printer is turned on". I have reinstalled printer in my print list and reinstalled printer software on macbook. Kodak 5250 AiO printer shows it's configured for and on wifi channel. I go online with laptop using wireless but cannot print. Help!

If you know the IP address of the printer, then you can check if there is a working path between the Mac and printer. This can be done using Network Utility or a web browser.
If you open Network Utility and select the Ping tab, you can enter the IP address of the Kodak and then press the Ping button. If there is a working connection then you should get a reply to each packet sent.
With the web browser, many devices have a built-in web server so you can type the IP address of the printer into the browser and if there is a working connection then you will open the printers web page.
So, are you able to confirm you have a working connection between the Mac and printer?

Unable to Print After Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader Upgrades.

. What software version of Abobe Acrobat Reader should be used for an HP PhotoSmart Plus printer? I currently have Adobe version 9.3 installed. I receive pop-up notices to install new Adobe Acrobat Reader software upgrades. I have installed the software upgrades and then my HP PhotoSmart Plus printer was unoperational. I deleted the Adobe software upgrades and my HP PhotoSmart Plus printer began to operate. I contacted HP technical support and was told there is no compatibility issues between Adobe Acrobat Reader and HP All-in-One Products. It might be a problem with the specific Adobe software upgrades. HP requested that I contact Adobe support for problem resolution. Has this problem ever happened to you? Any problem resolutions would be appreciated.

What is the Operating System of the computer?
Have you tested hardware functionality (made copies)?
Have you tried printing from different programs?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
What Firewalls and Anti-virus software are installed?
Have you tried disabling or uninstalling them?

HP Photosmart Prem C410 Unable to print - not able to connect wireless

Initial setup of my HP Photosmart Prem c410 printer -- cannot connect to my wireless network. The password is good. There is no MAC address filtering on my wireless router. Help. ;-)

OK, I figured it was a DSL router, but wanted to be sure.
DSL routers are rather non-standard, so we have to relieve them of some control during the printer installation:
1. Unplug the phone line to the router.
2. Restart the router by pulling its power plug out of the back momentarily, then plug back in.
3. Wait for the router to restart.
4. Install your printer, including software on your computer.
5. When the printer is installed and working, plug the phone line back in the router.
6. Restart the router again.

HP Solution Centre reports unable to start as printer not installed; but I can print!!!

My Officejet Pro 8500 A909g suddenly stopped working. It was connected to my HP Pavillion dv9700 by wireless and has been for the last 6 months or so. My laptop is running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I have made no software or hardware changes since I last used the printer; just a few hours ago.
I can now print again (having run through all the steps listed below), but can no longer use the HP Solution Centre to run any tasks as it reports that it 'cannot run because the device installation is not complete'
In order to get back to printing, I did all the usual of shutting everything down...computer, router and printer...all to no avail.
Then I downloaded the latest printer software from the HP site (OJP8500V909_Full_14.exe) and first ran the uninstall section of that software; removing ALL of the HP software from my machine.
I used CCleaner to remove all traces including those from the registry as well.
I uninstalled and re-installed the software.... 3 times. (at least it gave me a chance to catch up on reading a good Terry Pratchett book)
Each time I varied the conditions relating to my antivirus... Kaspersky. First by leaving the AV running; then by switching off the AV and switching on the Windows firewall; and then finally by switching off both the AV and the Windows Firewall.
On each occasion, during the installation, the software 'finds' my printer on the network; reports that it is installing, but when it gets to the end of the installation and moves on to the part where it reads 'configuring the printer', it gets stuck and after waiting for some time with the green progress light moving from side to side, nothing further happens.
I have downloaded and run various 'help' bits from the HP site ; HPHNDU.EXE and HPPDU.EXE and printed the test pages from them as well as printing from Word and Adobe pdf; so there is now no problem in printing.
Now, when I run the installation software again without uninstalling, depsite inputting the IP Address of the printer, I still get the error message that no printer could be found on the network?????
What have I missed here??

One very important place to remove the other software is in the "server properties" in your printer folder. You need to click on your printer icon in the printers folder> then look for "server properties" , click it> go to drivers> remove all instances of your first printer you originally uninstalled. For some reason the drivers get hung in this and have to be removed in order for you to configure your device- Let me know of any questions

HP color laserjet 2600n windows 7 printer not installed problem with spooler.

My computer will not recognize my printers. Nothing new was installed, just all of a sudden, they were gone . Have installed new drivers, and had a very knowledgeable person look at it-nothing. Very frustrating. Have a program that has been on it from the beginning and now it won't work (quark). Don't know where to turn. Am doing a windows defender scan for viruses as we speak. Help!!!!!

Could be a lot of reasons. First try to print a supplies status page- If that prints with color on it, you have a driver problem.

HP 7140 xi (All in one) network printer not installing properly? Help?

I have the 7140 setup with a fixed ip address on the network. When I install the HP drivers the setup process hangs. Every time you restart the setup program runs again. Either abort the program or try to setup and watch it hang.
I had the same thing happen with my older G5 after a OS upgrade and had to do a driver reinstall. It would do exactly the same thing. The difference was the install software on the G5 was not the latest from HP's web rather the CD supplied with the printer. This time on the MacBook I am using the latest drivers from the web. Now on my MacBook how do I even get it to print when you cannot set it up? Could HP have an issue having two printers? I have the Laser 2300 dtn working fine also with a fixed ip address (different of course).
Anyone else having the same issues or has solved it yet?

When I applied the instructions it deleted my HP2300dtn printing but fixed the HP 7140xi (All in one) and got it working great. I will now go back and get te 2300dtn working.

Adobe Acrobat printer not installed in Vista

I installed Adobe Acrobat 9 in windows XP and Vista. In XP installed properly and can covert to PDF. In Vista installed properly but can't find the Adobe printer in printers, when I open File ---> Print from any application can't found Adobe PDF. But when right click a file "Convert to Adobe PDF" appears and can convert. Please help me to solve this. Also I have Adobe reader 8 in vista.

Convert to Adobe PDF is a preprocessor for the Adobe PDF printer. Thus, for any conversion with Acrobat you have to have the printer installed. As a work around, you can install another PS printer and then open the PS file in Distiller, but that is not a great workaround. Sorry that I do not have an answer in terms of the Adobe PDF printer. HT3669 new update for my printer not installing

i have an HP Officejet 4500 series, software vers 2.5.2 and new update via Apple software Update is 2.8
i have tried to update, with printer on and off, i have re started iMac, but update is always available, never seems to install it correctly, i am currently having difficulty connecting to my printer and feel this is why the update which i can't install has been released.
On Mac OSX Lion 10.7.3 (11D50d)
any advice how i can reconnect wirelessly and update too?
