Unable to read the total value.

Hi guys,
I am able to get the total for alv table column.. but i want to display the total value in some other text view field.
In order to do that... first i have to read the total value, and have to set the same to text view field,
total value is of type ( DATA: LV_AGGR_RULE TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_AGGR_RULE. )
but my text view field attribute is of STRING TYPE.
So am getting conversion error. Pleas help me in this.

Hi ,
Try to loop your internal table on the column "Amount" and make a sum for that particular column, u will get the required sum Amount..

I am developing an application using jdeveloper 10.1.3 and Struts.
I have created a ADF LOV on my JSP Page as given below:

When i submit the form, i am able to get the value of the selected Value in the List.

But i am unable to set the selected value back in the list when i return to the form again.
I tried the following:

listBinding.setSelectedIndex(x);
It would be really helpful if some one could let me know what needs to be done.

I tried with the code you suggest , its trying to set the value of a field, but my requirement is to change the property for
"Rendered" on the field so that based on search parameters we can hide result table column.
After searching online, I modified the controller code as follows
1.Created a new transient attribute (Testrender) with type "Boolean" and always updateable.
2.changed the "Rendered" property value on the field I want to hide as ${oa.PoSearchVO1.Testrender}.
3. Modified the controller code as follows :

The search cannot be executed because the table has pending changes that would be lost. I think the vo is getting dirty when I update the transient attribute value. So I used txn.rollback ,then search is working fine but its not hiding the field.
So can you please let me know how to proceed from here ?

Java API to read the Encrypted Values from Windows Registry settings

Is there any Java API to read the Encrypted Values from Windows Registry settings ?
My Java Application invokes a 3rd party Tool that writes the key/value to windows registry settings under : “HKLM\Software\<3rdparty>\dataValue”.
This entry is in BINARY and encrypted with 3DES, using crypto API from Microsoft.

either uses C++ code: and uses the call “CryptProtectData” and “CryptUnProtectData” or
If it is a .NET (C#) it uses the call “Protect” or “UnProtect” from class “ProtectData” of WinCrypt.h from the library “Crypt32.lib.
Note: The data is encrypted using auto-generated machinekey and there is no public key shared to decrypt the Encrypted data.
Since the data is encrypted using auto-generated machinekey the same can be decrypted from a .Net / C++ application using CryptUnprotectData or UnProtect() API of WinCrypt.h from the library “Crypt32.lib.

I need to find a way in Java to find the equivalent API to decrypt (CryptUnprotectData) and Microsoft will automatically use the correct key.
But i couldn't find any informato related to Java APIs to enrypt or decrypt data using auto-generated machinekey.
Is there a way to read the encrypted data from Windows regsitry settings that is encrypted using the Auto-Generated Machine Key ?
Kindly let me know if Java provides any such API or mechanism for this.

If the symmetric key is "auto-generated" and is not being stored anywhere on the machine, it implies that the key is being regenerated based on known values on the machine. This is the same principle in generating 3DES keys using PBE (password-based-encryption). I would review the documentation on the C# side, figure out the algorithm or "seed" values being used by the algorithm, and then attempt to use the JCE to derive the 3DES key using PBE; you will need to provide the known values as parameters to the PBE key-generation function in JCE. Once derived, it can be used to decrypt the ciphertext from the Regiistry in exactly the same way as the CAPI/CNG framework.
An alternate way for Java to use this key, is to write a JNI library that will call the native Windows code to do the decryption; then the Java program does not need to know details about the key.
That said, there is a risk that if your code can derive the key based on known seeds, then so can an attacker. I don't know what your applicatiion is doing, but if this is anything related to compliance for some data-security regulation like PCI-DSS, then you will fail the audit (for being unable to prove you have adequate controls on the symmetric key) if a knowledgable QSA probes this design.

Frm-40502: oracle error: unable to read list of values

I am personalizing the assignment form, where we need to restrict the JOB LOV based on Organization value.
In Forms Personalization we are creating the record group from query and attaching to Job field.
The query is,

If i replace the bind variable with values we are not getting the error and its working fine.

How to Check the total value of a field

Hi,
I want to check the total value of a field (this total is obtain by using property of that field thru personalization).
that means , in a table 3 columns are there (col 1, col2 & col3). I personalized the total property as true for col3.
now i'm getting the total for that field.
I want to check that total whether it crossed 100 or not.

You can achieve by using OATotalRowBean, search for OATotalRowBean in this forum you should be able to get some sample code.

A special row rendered at the bottom of a table which lets users see totals for columns which are designated for summing.
Note The total is calculated and displayed only for visible rows.

If the OATableBean is also configured to insert rows (so it has an "Add Another Row" button), then the total bean becomes an indexed child of the add table row bean (see OAAddTableRowBean), which the OA Framework in turn designates as the table's columnFooter object.
If you need to access the table's column footer object for any reason, call the OATableBean's getColumnFooter() method. If row insertions are enabled, this method returns an OAAddTableRowBean; otherwise it returns an OATableRowBean.

Unable to read checkbox tag value in workshop

I'm trying to embed a repeater tag in a form, the JSP code is, the requirement is to get a list of records and display them to the user. The user then has to select a particular row of values and this is sent back to the database. I am able to display all the rows correctly from the database, but when I put the check box on my jsp, i am unable to get the proper value of the checkbox to determine which row has been selected so that I can post those values to the database.
I am trying to use a check box within a repeater tag, but even though I have a boolean[] varible defined in my form bean I am unable to get the form bean value for each row.

1. Add your list (getPeripheralDataArrayList) as a property of the FormBean.
2. Set the repeater dataSource to the list in the FormBean.
3. Set he CheckBox dataSource="{container.item.dataSelected}", as well as all other members in the lists object.
4. In the controller iterate through the list to find the row selected when the form is submitted.

My Windows 2003 crashed which was running Oracle XE.
I installed Oracle XE on Windows XP on another machine.
I coped my D:\oracle\XE10g\oradata folder of Win2003 to the same location in WinXP machine.
When I start the database in WinXP using SQLPLUS i get the following message

Try to install win 2003 server software, do the fresh installation of oracle software, now copy the datafiles and controlfiles to same locations as you did on winxp.
get back to us, if still not out of the woods. I still doubt that a simple restore would do the trick, since you doing it across different platforms, might be I can be wrong, but this is what I personally feel, you not able to start the database on winxp.

OBIEE Writeback error - The system is unable to read the Write Back Templat

Hi all,
I'm trying to set up the write back feature for one of the reports. All the set up up including XML file in the custommessage folder is done.Ensured the webmessage name tag value (pmet_update) is same as the one used in the report write back template value etc.
Also the server is restarted after the latest XML file(as shown below) is copied after all type of debugging with similar threads on this matter.
But when i click on the update button in the report (button is highlighted), i'm getting the error
"The system is unable to read the Write Back Template 'pmet_update'. Please contact your system administrator."

Unable to read the freq and amplitude

if you could look at the prog.s attached and if you can explain why i am unable to read the data output from "scalled data vs seconds" into tone measurments.
it must have something to do with the conversion from the cluster of 3 elements to the DBL waveform can anyone see the mistake in the conversion!!

Lines above and below the total values

This is for an invoice. I display line items and then the totals. I want to draw lines above and below the total values. i am able to underline the total values using the paragraph formats but that will give only lines below the values. how can I get the lines above and below the values in correct proportions? Please give me some ideas on how to do this.

Using boxes is advantageous in a lot of ways as you can specify the x and y positions exactly.

B2B RosettaNet incoming messages throws error "Unable to read the preamble"

Hi,
We have configured Oracle B2B to send Invoices to TP using Rosettanet V2.0.
The incoming message are coming to B2B server via DMZ running apache HTTP server. We have security certificates installed on DMZ and has shared the public key with the TP.
TP has shared public key which we have installed on SOA server keystore.
We are able to see incoming messages in "Wire Message" tab, but the status is "processing". The SOA log file shows the error "Unable to read the preamble".
Any suggestion on this really appreciated.

The configuration that we have here is -
Outbound
SOA -> <Firewall> TP
Inbound
TP -> DMZ(SSL Enabled) -> FIREWALL -> SOA Server
SOA server is SSL enabled too, but the communication between DMZ and SOA has been configured on HTTP (non SSL). We shared the public key of DMZ server with the TP.
