• Over Payments for foreign currency

Hi
We placed a message, that over payments and underpayments does not work for foreign currency business partners. See SAP Note 1068260.
The SAP Support gave us the feedback, that we can not place a "Missing Funktionality Request" in that case.
What should we do that our customers can use the SAP Business One properly?

Hi,
When the revaluation program is run (normally during month end), the foreign currency transactions will get revaluated and the loss/gain gets posted to the B/S adjustment account.
If the program, in the above step, was run with the "Reverse posting" indicator marked, the documents created in the above step would be reversed automatically on the 1st day of the next month. Thus the adjustment account gets set off.
If the "Reverse posting" indicator was NOT set, then during the invoice payment, the adjustment entry (from the first step) gets reversed. In the payment document you can find an additional entry that sets off the B/S adjustment account.
Hope this helps.

Mike

• Fees account for foreign currencies in payment run F110

Dear all,
I have a problem with a house bank with several bank accounts. At the foreign currency accounts with the same account number, the bank charges are always charged at the foreign currency accounts and not at the Euro account (house currency).
Our desire is that the bank charges are settled in the Euro account.
It seems, that for each record of a foreign currency account to be debited, it requires an own charge account. For foreign currency accounts with different account number to the Euro account is the setting without any problems. In the house bank with foreign currency accounts the fields for the fee accounts were not filled in the payment transfer medium.
How should the setting be, so that bank accounts with different currencies, the fees are cleared only on the Euro account?
We have SAP ECC 6.0 with SAP_APPL 600 Level 12.
If I have missed important information or if my words were indistinct please feel free to ask.
Thanks for any help.
Greetings

Hello Marssel,
sorry, perhaps I described my scenario wrong.
I have only one House Bank with several Account IDs. All but one have the same Bank account number.
For example:
House Bank......................Account ID........................Bank Account No
050.....................................AUSL.................................0444940000
050.....................................CHF....................................0444940000
050.....................................EURO.................................0444940000
050.....................................SCHCK...............................0444940000
050.....................................SGD...................................0444940001
050.....................................USD....................................0444940000
This is the "Bank Account Overview" in transaction FI12.
The house bank country in FI12 is DE for Germany and the ISO Currency Code for the Charges Account is EUR.
The Bank Number and Account Number (0444940000) for the Charges Account are also filled in FI12.
The currencies of Bank GL Account in FS00 are for the foreign currency accounts CHF, SGD and USD. The rest are in house currency EUR.
After starting F110 the bank fees are charged at the foreign currency accounts in CHF and USD. But we want that they are charged over the Euro account in Euro.
Thanks for your help.

• Customisation for foreign currency revaluation

I have to post the revaluation for GL accounts like VAT gl accounts to a GL account XXX. I have maintained the GL accounts for which reval needs to be calculated in the variant of the job FAGL_FC_VALUATION . after this, where this account XXXX should be maintained ?

Hi Rudra,
It is not for all GL's that system will carry out revaluation. Only when you define the GL's in customizing in SPRO will you get the revaluation done in FAGL_FC_VALUATION.
For this Go to
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide  Financial Accounting(New)  General Ledger Accounting(New)  Periodic Processing  Foreign Currency valuation  Prepare Automatic Postings for Foreign Currency Valuation
On the Maintain FI Configuration: Automatic Postings-Procedures, choose Transaction KDF and make the entries:-
You need to maintain One Gain/Loss account which is a P/L account and that gets posted when you make payments during the month and it is realized gain/loss. But if you want to post it at month end for open items then you need to enter in val Loss 1/Val Gain 1 and this GL gets posted when you run this transaction FAGL_FC_VALUATION.
Bal Sheet Adjust.1 is the account to which AR/AP adjustment is posted to.
Hope this helps..

• Foreign currency transactions

Dear All,
Please advice on how I can be able to pay from a Bank setup as a USD bank to a supplier invoice in GDP in SAP B1 SP2 PL50.
Currently this is what is done:
- Go to outgoing payments and select the supplier whose currency is set up as GBP
-Clicking on payment on account
-click on the payment means bag at the top.
- by default the payment means currency displays just the GBP and the local currency.
- click on the check option
-select a USD bank
- enter the figure to be paid.
when trying to add this transaction I get the message account currency does not match with document currency message comes up.
Regards,
Monil.

Hi Monil,
the easiest way to do this is to have the bank accounts set to multicurrency, then all balances will default back to local currency. Do you pay your supplier out of you normal bank account? Are there other suppliers you trade with in a different currency?
If you have extensive foreign currency transactions you might wish to have a tighter control on FX rates in relation to your local currency, then you can set up several different monocurrency bank accounts in the application & move cash around from one monocurrency account to another using the method outlined in SAP note 1260658.
All the best,
Kerstin

• Intercompany payment posting after Foreign currency valuation - F.05

Hi Gurus,
I have an issue with intercompany payment posting after foreign currency valuation run.
Build Up:
Let me give you a brief description first. Company u2018Au2019 has open items from Company u2018Bu2019. Basically Company u2018Au2019 charges management fees from Company u2018Bu2019. Both companies have a local currency of u2018EURu2019 and a group currency of u2018USDu2019. The open items posted in company u2018Au2019 have been accumulating for two years now. In January of this year finance decided to run the foreign currency valuation (F.05). The method they used was the reversal method. So at the beginning of the next month the entries from the valuation were reversed. They repeated this in February as well. Note this is the first time the foreign currency valuation was performed in SAP, before it was done manually. After February they never ran the foreign currency valuation run.
Issue:
Now what is happening is, when open items that have been accumulating for over two years and are before the foreign currency valuation run are cleared (payment is made) there is a exchange rate loss/gain. When the open item is cleared there is posting to the G/L account for Balance sheet adjustment and also an exchange rate loss/gain G/L account.
Posting:
Debit u2013 Cash
Credit u2013 Customer (intercompany)
Credit u2013 Balance sheet adjustment account (unrealized loss)
Debit u2013 Profit and loss account (realized loss)
The balance sheet adjustment account that is posted to is from OBA1 u2013 KDF u2013 balance sheet adjustment account in the foreign currency valuation accounts. Currency translation account determination is empty in OBA1.
I understand the system while payment posting is clearing/offset the unrealized loss/gain and posting the realized loss/gain. But how is this possible, when the foreign currency valuation run was done the entries were reversed so there was no unrealized loss/gain posted.
Also another caveat: Isnu2019t foreign currency valuation for open items that are posted in foreign currency and need to be revaluated to local currency. Well that is what is puzzling the open items posted in company u2018Au2019 are posted in local currency u2018EURu2019 so the foreign currency valuation should not affect these open items, correct? And if this is true then when the open items is cleared the unrealized loss/gain should never be cleared since there is none posted the exchange rate difference should only be posted to the realized account in the profit and loss correct? Please help? I can explain further if needed?
Thank you.
Comments and facts:
Companies fiscal year is June u2013 May.
Company u2018Au2019 and u2018Bu2019 have a local currency of u2018EURu2019, group currency is u2018USDu2019
The invoices in Company u2018Au2019 were posted in u2018EURu2019
The foreign currency valuation was only ever run in January and February of 2010.

HI ,
I believe becuase you did not enter any date that's why they did n't reverse automtcially . You need to enter to reverse.
now you can use f.80 mass reversal for all of them

• Journal transactions for inter-currency fund transfers

I'm a new Business One user & I can't remember how you set up to allow an out of balance foreign currency journal transaction. Can anybody help, please?

HI Peter,
My impression is that 9.0 shouldn't allow unbalanced transactions in foreign currency, but you can check if the checkbox "Block Unbalanced FC Journal Entry" exists in " Document Settings" window for the journal entry document. Perhaps it's what you're looking for.

• Report for foreign currency revaluation - FAGL_FC_VAL

Hello Experts,
I have executed FAL_FC_VAL - Foreign Currency Revaluation Program. System posted some accounting entry for the same. However, I want to know how system calculated and for which invoices it calculated.
For this I want a report from SAP, for foreign currency revaluation. Please let me know the TCode for the report.
I can see some output on screen, showing calculation, during test run. But it does not get saved anywhere.
Please help

Hello Ms Meena,
You can achieve to have this if you are in ECC 6.0 by activating the Logs to be stored.
This can be done via FAGL_FC_VAL & go to the last tab as below.
Precondition : Make sure before user run the revaluation they click on both tick mark.
Click on Logs
give the date when they it is run & execute
Select the log
Here you can select your fields like vendor name/customer name/GL account Name.
I would strongly suggest to create a variant by yourself & save & then ask the user to change the date to revaluation everymonth.
Many thanks

• Clearing of GL open items F-03 for foreign currency trans

Hi there,
I am trying to clear a GL open item managed Bank clearing a/c which has a payment document with foreign currency amount (doc cur) and LC1 and LC2.
The doc is posted in Aug 08. When I try to clear it in Sept 08 i see that LC1 and LC2 are showing diff amount from the posted amount. Since i am using this GL a/c as bank clearing will there be double exchange diff calculated....1) during payment of invoice and 2) during clearing from this Bank clearing a/c to Bank a/c.
I guess the difference is because of two diff clearing date but is this standard or is there any settings to control this. Looked through but could not find anything.
Any of you have any comments on this, please let me know.
Thank you very much
RG

when you clear the open item, the system will pick up the exchange rate mentioned in the tables (Tcode OB08) and the difference in the exchange rate entered in the invoice and the exchange from the tables at the time of payment will be proposed.
If you enter the payment document with the same exchange rate you had given at the time of invoicing, there will not be any difference.
Check you settings in OB08.

• Balance sheet adjustment account for Foreign Currency Valuation

Hi all,
I know that we enter AP /AR balance sheet adjustment account for Open items account when we configure for Foreign currency valuation with Tcode OBA1 and KDF. I wanted to know what account can I enter in that field for other balance sheet account which are not open item managed?
Also, Do we valuate GR/IR accounts in foreign currency valuation?? If yes, what balance sheet adjustment account do we enter for those accounts?
Thank you.

HI,
The valuation of foreign currency balances requires a special key that is assigned the gain and loss accounts for posting any exchange rate differences that occur during valuation. You can freely define this key. You then enter it in the master records of the accounts that you want to valuate. To post the differences that are determined from a group of G/L accounts to the same gain or loss accounts, enter the same key for all these G/L accounts.
Create the Create here with Tcode OBA1 and KDB-Exch. Rate Diff. using Exch. Rate Key
And assign this in the GL account master in the Control Tab.
Thanks
Vijay

kamala

Hi,
I am not sure this is a right solution. But I have some inputs on your requirements:
1. For traveller cheques you may create a new payment method and do the required configuration for automatic payment program. Don't generate any payment medium while running APP.
2. For currency notes (cash payment) I am not sure how it works. But probably it is possible by creating an account (account ID) for a particular house bank and use that (house bank & account id) for making payment.
Per my knowledge we have never used payment method cash (currency notes) in APP. But logically it would work by create a new payment method and doing the required config for APP.
Please update if you found a better way to do this.
thanks & regards,
Kumar

Hi,
You have to maintain a leading currency for this currency pair under the configuration:
financial supply chain management -- Treasury and Risk management -- Transaction manager -- General Settings -- Transaction management -- Currencies -- Define Leading currency.
In this you have to maintain a value for the currency pair.
