It's a straightforward port-forwarding issue.
You need to forward ports to the internal ip address of your apple tv as follows:

Hi,
If the machine is brand new I don't see why the serial Number is missing (it is entered on to a special chip at the factory)
However if the machine is a return and has been refurbished then the Logic/mother board may have been changed and someone forgot to put the info back to the new board.

Sounds more like you have a problem with your apple id. For starters go to that page click manage my apple id and singn in. If you can't sign in reset password.

if you can sign in there, try to sign in to itunes on your computer.

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer..)
Release the Buttons...

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, there is a blank app icon on the home screen. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

Installing 7.2. Says "Unable to install the gear driver set at this time...

Hello, Im trying to Install ITunes 7.2, and I get this error:
"Unable to install the gear driver set at this time. The GEARAspiWDM service use by the GEAR driver set is scheduled to be deleted during the next system reboot. Please reboot the system and run itunes again"
I am installing ITunes for the very first time on my comp, cuz I just received a new 2GB Nano.
I've tried rebooting,tried uninstalling my Quicktime and removing it from my comp, uninstalled and cleaned any remnants of previous ITunes using the windows cleaner, disabling both my mcafee and pccillin, and it still comes up with the error.
I'd be indebted to any suggestions or resolutions!

If you follow the steps very carefully and do as each says, this will solve your problem.. Now i am very happy i can actually install iTunes and use it for my iPod.
Remember to be carefully with the steps as the things you will be deleting are very important to your comp.

Hello, I have been having trouble installing iTunes. I uninstalled it because I wasn't able to put songs on my iPod. And when I tried to reinstall it, I got this error:
"Unable to install the GEAR driver set at this time. The GEARAspiWDM service use by the GEAR driver set is scheduled to be deleted during the next system reboot. Please reboot the system and run iTunes again"
First off, I don't even have iTunes installed any more. Second, I don't know what the heck the GEAR driver is.
Please help!

When you get this message, you may need to manually remove your gear drivers, see the following post which links to full instructiosn:

It requires editing the registry so be careful.

Hi, I am experiencing a problem that has never occurred with my Apple TV before. Below is an iPhone photo I took of the screen that is giving me the error message of being "Unable to sign in."
What seems weird is how the message below has HTML tags around it. Seems very odd to me.
Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this problem? I logged into Netflix.ca, and it worked fine for me online with Safari.

I guess it was just a general Netflix issue, because it's working fine now.
