Unable to Sign In to Itunes Store

I'm trying to set up Apple TV. I cannot connect to the Itunes store via ATV. Each time I try, I get an error saying:
"Unable to Sign In - The Apple ID you entered couldn't be found or you password was incorrect. Please try again"
I am also having difficulty accessing YouTube.
I am able to connect to the itunes store via my macbook without any problems. I'm also able to download and view trailers and listen to music which have been synced.
This is what I have done so far. I have done a reset, restored, unplugged and updated software. Still nothing. I'm connected to the internet using a Time Capsule without any added firewall software. Everything is apple and plug and play just isn't working.
Any suggestions?

I also have "accessing iTunes Store...." when I try sign in to my account....
I can browse the store but not sign in.
I have recently added a Netgear DGN2000 router.......... checked all settings to no avail
If i swap the router for an alternative internet connection (a gsm modem - it works fine!)... maybe same problem?

  • Apple TV 2 Waiting for network services, unable to sign in to iTunes store

    Received my Apple TV yesterday.
    It is connected to my network (I have tried wired and wireless).
    I can view movie previews and Podcasts.
    I cannot sign in to the iTunes Store (therefore cant rent movies), cannot view Youtube videos (No content available), cannot use Netflix (Waiting for network services when I try).
    I spoke to Apple support, they couldn't help. They say the problem is with my network or my ISP.
    I have a Linksys WRT160N router, on which I have tried disabling the firewall.
    My ISP is Telus, I am on their Fibre Optic network in BC. I wonder if Telus are blocking Apple TV?
    Anyone else experiencing this?

    I received my Apple TV yesterday.
    I am running cable internet with 10Mbps constant.
    So I connected it up and proceeded to issue after issue. I could not log into my Apple account. It was stating that my name or password was incorrect.
    When I would start the unit it would stay at the waiting for network connections screen for several minutes!
    I did all the tricks of turning the apple of and back on, NO FIX.
    I tried to update the software, and I recieved a message that stated I have the most updated software, so....NO FIX
    I did a full restore. The Apple TV downloaded the newest software and rebooted after about 7 minutes, NO FIX
    I logged into my router and opened all ports, added ports 80 and 123, NO FIX
    I also disabled my entire firewall on my router and turned off the WEP security feature...and what would you guess.....NO F I X!!
    So I logged back into my router and reset all my original settings...still NO FIX.
    SO here is the good part...Apparently the system has to connect to time.apple.com and get updated...it's sort of like a verification of the system.
    So after it updated everything worked great! No unable to sign into my account. NO waiting on network connections anymore.
    So the biggest advice I can give, especially after my 3 hours of gradually wasting my time until I almost threw the unit out my bedroom window, is connect it to your WIFI system and let it sit by itself for a few hours and let it connect to the Apple server.
    Hope this helps everyone that, at some point, has shared my pain and frustration.

  • Why can't I sign into the iTunes store?

    I've been trying to sign into the iTunes store for months now. Since v10 released, I have been unable to sign into the store, use Genius or any other feature that requires an active store use.
    I can sign in here (obviously) but when I try to sign in IN iTunes, it trys for about 30 seconds, pulls up the review dialogue and then goes back to asking me to sign in before I can review my information.
    Sometimes it pulls up a Welcome page that looks like it's all text without any of the formatting or bells and whistles.
    The fact that this has been going on so long, that I've found LOTS of other users with the same problems and that there is no fix for it annoys me to no end.
    Has anyone, anywhere found a fix or heard anything about this problem being patched? Should I try reverting back to 9.x version of iTunes?

    Remember, any purchased item from the itunes store is forever associated with the Apple ID used to buy it.  So when you get prompted for an ID/password and it doesn't accept it, then you are using the wrong ID.
    Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores, be sure it's logged into the ID you have set on the iphone (since that one seems to be connecting with the right ID).  If you've done this, then you might wait a bit to see if the "cannot connect to .. store" message has to do with internet connections.

  • ITunes freezes on Sign In to iTunes Store - Windows 7 64 bit

    In the last 48 hours I have not been able to use my iTunes software as it hangs immediately after launching.
    I have tried a number of options to rectify the problem including Repairing the iTunes installation, Uninstalling/Reinstalling the program and System Restore to name a few. After some hours of searching I have established (after reading support.apple.com/kb/ts1717) that when I remove the Roaming Preference Files I am able to run iTunes however at this point it no longer automatically signs into the iTunes store. The problem arises as soon as I enter my user id and password the program becomes unresponsive.
    I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions anyone could provide to help rectify the problem.

    Same problem.
    Latest version of iTunes (10.5.2.11) and iCloud 1.0.2.17 installed. Only installed iCloud on the latest update.
    iTunes frequently froze, so I deleted my roaming profile (having read of others having success by doing this).
    iTunes now launches fine, downloads subscribed podcasts etc, I can access the iTunes store, but as soon as I try to log in using my apple id then itunes freezes and must be closed using task manager.
    I'm using Windows 7 32bit.
    I just tried launching the iCloud control panel and it froze up too. Uninstalling iCloud didn't seem to fix the problem.
    I can buy apps etc through my ipad and iphone, so maybe I can use itunes without logging into the store, but frankly I wish I could ditch itunes as the interface for my iphone/ipad.

  • When I am trying to sign in to iTunes Store. I am requested to enter a password to the wrong Apple ID mail which does not belong to me... I can't connect to iTunes store and my Viber and Facetime are not active.

    My Apple ID was disabled. I reseted it successfully. Afterwards, when I am trying to update the pending apps in App Store on my phone, in order to sign in to iTunes Store I am requested to enter a password to the wrong Apple ID which definitely does not belong to me ('[email protected]'). Of course, I don't know this password and, consequently, I can't connect to Itunes Store on my Iphone. As a result my Viber and Facetime are not active in the meanwhile. What should I do?     Where did you get this iPhone?
    Was it new or second hand?
    You have to sign out then sign in with the correct Apple ID and password.
    Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: > do it here.

    The first part of the error is true - I haven't used the AppleID with the iTunes store.

    received the upgrade code using this same AppleID, so I don't think I can use a different AppleID.

    It's clearly not a cookie issue..
    As for cookies. Quit the App Store. Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder.
    Type this exactly as you see it here:   ~/Library/Cookies
    Click Go the move the   com.apple.appstore.plist   file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
    Relaunch the App Store.

    i am unable to connect to the itunes store on my ipone 4. when i click on the app, it opens to the last screen that was accessed in the store, then closes. rebooting the phone did not help. Alxo i recently downloaded items thru itunes on my pc and they are not downloading to my phone. on my phone they show up with the cloud  next to it, but when i click on th cloud to download i see the red working circle then the cloud shows up again.

Every other device in my house is hooked up to the internet and I am having no problem browsing the internet on this computer.  I tried completely uninstalling all itunes and apple software from my computer and re-installing it and nothing has helped.  Any advice?
