Unable to subscribe to a MobileMe gallery

Hi,
I've published a few gallery to my MobileMe account and when people wants to subcribe to them (via the link in the gallery choosing iPhoto), iPhoto always answer that the "Mobile Me Atom Feed" is empty.
What is the problem here?
Note: I've published via iPhoto 09, and try the sunscription on both iPhoto 08 and 09.
Thanks

Further testing proved to me that the RSS feed provided in the iPhoto link may be broken.
When I use the RSS feed URL (by copying what is shown in the RSS dialog on MobileMe) in iPhoto subscribe item from the file menu, it is working well.
Is it a bug Apple is aware of?

  • Unable to publish album to MobileMe Gallery

When I try to publish my album on MobileMe, nothing happens.
You see that on the screen that it is "publishing", but afterwards nothing has happened.
I do not receive any error message what so ever.
    Your advice is highly appreciated.

Have you tried making a new MM Gallery and use a different photo and publish? I have had a gallery be corrupt. I would make a new gallery, add one photo you haven't used before and try publishing.
If you login into mobileme.com and go to the gallery here, do you see anything? In your iDisk the Web folder is in there right? If not, then you will need to contact Apple support.

  • IPhoto and MobileMe gallery

Since switching from MobileMe to iCloud I am unable to add a new album to my MobileMe gallery. If I do add a new album it is removed almost immediately.
I am also unable to 'share' it from MobileMe gallery before it is removed automatically almost immediately it is put on.
Could anybody explain why and how to fix this problem.

I would like to add to this thread.  Same problems with updating to the iPhoto 11 and the "cloud".  The photo's taken on my iPhone are displaying in my "Photo Stream", I add the photo's I want from the Photo stream to my iPhoto library stored locally, and then publish the album to mobile me.
Problem is, as soon as the seldected photo's are published to mobile me I go to the "web" pane on iPhoto in order to send an email to my friends that a new album is posted.  As soon as I select "web" on the right hand selection pane in iPhoto 11, I receive the following:
iPhoto displays "The published album has been removed from Mobile me".
The album is saved from photo stream to my iPhoto album, but the selected photo's will not publish to mobile me.  This is a problem with apples new Lion OS and iPhoto 11.  One more example of how Apple has rolled out new products that are not ready.  I moved from PC to Mac 10 years ago because of this same problem with PC software, now Apple has lost its way and is putting new software on the market that just doesn't work and I suspect the OS will become irrelevant agian if the company doesn't focus on what drew customers to their platform.  So disappointed with Apple again...its becoming very common.

  • A3 unable to upload to MobileMe Gallery

I've been trying to upload 8 RAW and JPEG shots to my MobileMe gallery so a colleague can download. Each time I try I get a server error. Would appreciate anyone's ideas/suggestions.

I haven't tried today, but it's been working OK for me. If you're in a hurry, you could upload them to your iDisk and make them available for download there as a work around.
You can do this at http://www.me.com/idisk/

  • Sharing photos via MobileMe Gallery - what alternative?

I have been sharing photos with my soon to be 80 years old mother via my MobileMe gallery, all I had to do was send her the link, while all she had to do was subscribe to my gallery in order to have the images download to iPhoto. This was easy and straightforward for her.
How should I handle this task after the discontinuation of MobileMe? PhotoStream doesn't seem to be designed for this task, and I don't want her to have to jump through too many hoops, since she still uses her computer on a beginner's level.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

  • MobileMe Gallery & Facebook stuck syncing...

I have one gallery published to MobileMe and I just used iPhoto 09 to publish one album to my Facebook account. This morning they synced just fine.
This evening I moved around some photos and deleted some and the Facebook album has been "stuck" with the "sync pie" filled in about 40% (around 5 o'clock) and in the top right-hand corner I have a progress bar that says "uploading thumbnails".
My MobileMe gallery on the other hand is just forever "syncing" with the "sync pie" continually spinning but nothing else happening.
It's been like this for 30+ minutes now. I am skeptical to do anything else because I don't want to mess up my libraries in any way. I did go to my main iPhoto library (which contains a photo that is published in both online galleries I was talking about earlier) and I was unable to delete the photo (perhaps iPhoto is preventing me from doing that while it's trying to sync those two galleries?).
    Any ideas/tip/tricks?
    Thank you,
    Keith

After 5 hours I decided I had waited long enough.
I hovered over the the "sync pies" until they turned to "x's" and then I clicked on the "x" to cancel the sync. I then tried to quit iPhoto and it warned me that iPhoto was trying to sync and presented me with the option of "cancel quit" or "stop sync and quit." I chose "stop sync and quit" but that did nothing... iPhoto just stayed open. I looked under "Force Quit" and iPhoto was NOT listed as not responding.
I tried to quit iPhoto again with the same two options presented to me. I finally did a force quit.
    What gives?

  • IPhoto - MobileMe gallery subscription - problem with password-protected

I am having a peculiar problem with subscribed galleries from MobileMe in iPhoto 08 and iPhoto 09. For galleries that have password-protection enabled, the full URL of the gallery subscription feed is pulled through as the Subscription title instead of the gallery title.
    For example "http://gallery.e.com/ACCOUNT-NAME/XXXXXX/?webdav-method-truthget&depth=infinit y&feedfmt=atom....
This doesn't occur for public MobileMe galleries. The title of the gallery comes across and the URL of the subscription is hidden.
Anyone having similar problems? Local Genius Bar couldn't help and assumed it was just a bug, but it doesn't seem to be typical of Apple.
As an aside, it would also be nice to have these feed subscriptions behave similarly to the way RSS subscriptions work in Mail, with the ability to select how often the feed is queried and indicate the number of new items. This would alert users of changes to feeds.
    Joe

Upon further research, it appears that this problem occurs when publishing from either iPhoto or Aperture to MobileMe. The problem seems to be when a gallery is published and one chooses not to have the gallery appear on the main gallery page (hidden). It seems to have nothing to do with whether or not one protects the gallery with a password.
So, Apple, if you are listening, can you provide any information on how to have the title of the gallery come through when subscribing using iPhoto while at the same time not listing the gallery on the main MobileMe gallery page? This seems to be a fixable bug.

  • MobileMe Gallery + Smart Folder; why doesn't it automatically update?

I used to use Photocasting on iPhoto 6. This worked great in that I published a photocast of a smart folder and any new items that matched the smart folder were automatically published.
I upgraded to iPhoto '08 specifically so that people could subscribe to an album via RSS and have it work on any computer.
Unfortunately, with iPhoto '08 the MobileMe Gallery doesn't seem to remember that it was based on a smart folder and I have to manually add additional pictures to publish in the MobileMe Gallery.
What am I missing? All I want is to have a smart folder automatically publish all new matches to an RSS feed for my friends & family to see new pics.
Please advise as to how anyone is able to accomplish this.

MobileMe galleries are separate from the album that you initially use to create them. Any photo added to the album also has to be manually added to the gallery. It's the nature of the beast. You can put in a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • MobileMe Gallery Issue - Still There

I am unable to view one of my two albums in my MobileMe Gallery on my iPhone 4 using the Gallery app. So far Apple Support has had me RESTORE my iPhone, delete and re-add my MobileMe account on my iPhone, and delete and re-install the Gallery app on my iphone. This was reported previously with the iphone 3, and the discussion "archived", even though it was never answered: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2565488

    Hi,
Open System Preferences / MobileMe then select the Sync tab then click the Advanced tab.
Click: Reset Sync Data... then click Done.
Connect your iPhone to your Mac, select the Info tab in iTunes then click the Sync button bottom right side of the iTunes window.

  • Can't edit photos in my MobileMe gallery in iPhoto '11

    Hi,
I have all my photos in my MobileMe gallery. Everything sync very well with iPhoto '11. But I'm surprised by the fact that I can't edit those photos. It keeps saying that the element I selected can't be modified in iPhoto '11.
Is this because I don't have a local copy of the pictures on my HD ? And if this is the reason, how can I do so I can edit those pictures ?
    Thanks !

Then you won't have them in your iPhoto library. Only links to them.
Do you have the option to subscribe to the galleries and/or download the files into your library. Those option are in the gallery's menu bar:
If the download option is available you can get copies of the photos and import them into your library so you can edit them.
For those photo you want to edit try dragging its thumbnail in iPhoto to the Desktop. Then import the resulting image file back into iPhoto. That should give you a full size copy of it to work with.
If you can't drag the thumbnail then try subscribing to the gallery, open the subscription window in iPhoto and try dragging the thumbnail there to the desktop. That worked for me.
UPDATE: If you subscribe to a gallery and then delete the subscription you will be given the chance to download and import those photos into your library as the subscription is deleted.
This way you can get a copy of each photo in each gallery into your library.

  • MobileMe Gallery movies dont show on iPhone 3g

I have about 6 movies on my gallery page but only one of them shows up when I navigate there on my iPhone. Is there a size cap for movies that will show from the MobileMe gallery on an iPhone. Any ideas why the others wont show?

Once you subscribe to a calendar, the events should appear in your calendar. The calendar should also be listed with your other calendars on the left side of the window.
    Click on the calendars name.
    Go to File, then Export...
Save the calendar file on your desktop.
    Then,
    Go to File, then import...
Import the calendar back into iCal as a normal calendar.
It will then sync with your iPhone.
However, as a "normal" calendar and not a "subscription calendar", you lose the ability to stay synchronized.
    Hope that made sense.

  • MobileMe Gallery video playback

I've already posted this issue on the iPad forum but I get no response, maybe one of you guys has an answer to my question.
I've uploaded a Quicktime movie to MobileMe Gallery and it plays fine on my Mac and iPhone but it won't play on my iPad. Does anyone know why it won't play on the iPad and how can I solve this?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Yes I did!
The problem seems to be the Mobileme server: see all the similar topics in MobileMe forum about gallery using Safari on Macs. Even the french Apple assistance MobileMe has been unable to resolve my problem with my videos galleries/Safari (2 hours chatting for nothing ;-(( ).
    Some more ideas ?
    Thanks

  • Posting movies from iPhoto to MobileMe Gallery

I have a few 5-8 minute videos taken from a pocket Canon camera that I would like to export to my MobileMe Gallery. How do I downsize the video in iPhoto before I publish the album to the gallery? Right now a subscriber to the gallery has to painfully wait for these video's to load up/stream. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Cliff:
In QT Pro try the File->Export for Web option and then select Desktop. That will produce a folder with several files in it. The one you want to use is the one with the .m4v extension. Check the resulting size of that file and see if it's been reduced enough to make it useable.
I just tried it on a small test movie of 704 KB and it was reduced to 132KB.

  • Mobileme gallery inaccessible from Apple TV after firmware upgrade to 2.4

I've just updated my Apple TV to version 2.4 and I've noticed that I'm unable to view content stored on my web mobileme gallery. Everyhing worked well prior to the update... Does anyone experience the similar problem?

YES. Found another thread on 7/7 Disappearing pictures.
Anyway after the update I can usually only get gallery photos right after a reboot and they appear quite quickly, but after going through the gallery or "menu"ing out of the library and moving to other ones I am usually greeted with slow gallery updates and lots of black screens where the photos should be. In fact the gallery I was watching while typing this just went to black, still have music but no pictures.
I have factory restored, deleted galleries. Definitely seems to be an 2.4 issue or a recent MobileMe update causing an issue.

  • Cannot add photos from my own MobileMe gallery to my library

Computer A and Computer B are both linked to the same MobileMe account and both have iPhoto '08. I published a set of photos to a new MobileMe gallery using Computer A. I can view the gallery on Computer B, but I can't edit the photos on Computer B or add the photos to my library on Computer B. The edit buttons are grayed out.
I can use Computer B to create a new album from the photos in the MobileMe gallery, but they still cannot be edited and they don't actually appear in the library.
Does anyone know of a way to get the photos into my library on Computer B short of downloading each photo individually to Computer B and then importing in the Computer B library?

To get the photos on to B you'll need to subscribe to the gallery and download. However, you can only edit those published files on the computer that created the gallery.
If the two computers are linked together via a hard wired LAN you can have B log into A and use the library there. Or put the library on a external HD connected to A and let B access it there.
Send a feature request to Apple for what you'd like to be able to do via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
