Unable to type in UAC prompt during desktop share

While in desktop sharing mode and having control of the user's system we are unable to respond to any UAC prompts that might come up during troubleshooting. I can click in the box, but cannot type.This is happening for all of our support staff when using Jabber desktop share to troubleshoot an issue.
Yes, we have other tools for remote assistance, but sometimes Jabber is the only one we can get to connect as we support systems globally and are using the cloud based Jabber client.
Any ideas/thoughts are appreciated.

This is a limitation of WebEx MC which underpins the Jabber desktop share in cloud mode. So it's not a configuration thing on your part, it's WebEx MC.

    I think I see why we were having a disconnect earlier when discussing this.  I had some time so I did some more testing and found the following.
    Fresh Windows 8 install with a normal user account (non-admin) has NO UAC PROMPT for taskmgr, regedit, etc.  It just opens under the current user context, same as Windows 7 did.
    Upgraded Windows 8 from Windows 7 install gives a UAC prompt for taskmgr, etc. under the same situation.  I made sure they were in the same OU with the same policies and the same UAC level.  No prompts!  That's the part that never made sense
    to me.  If you can run an app and then use your non-admin credentials at the UAC prompt and it still runs, why did it prompt in the first place?  Makes no sense.  And it turns out that it doesn't look like this is default behavior but something
    messed up on the 7-to-8 computers I'm dealing with.
    So am I missing some setting or something for Windows 7 to 8 upgrade or is this a bug?
    I just started seeing that behavior on a computer that has a fresh installation of windows 8.  For a few weeks after installation, it worked as expected.  Then it started prompting for user credentials when running task manager as a non-admin user. 
    If I enter the credentials of the user who started it (the non-admin user I'm logged on as) it opens and works as expected.

    I recently updated to Firefox 3.6 but a prompt told me to update my Adobe Flash Player. I tried a few times to follow the directions, but nothing matched or seemed to be happening. Somehow I may have sought to download the offer, then canceled. For several days there was no problems. When I log on to the computer now and click the Firefox icon to go to the internet browser, the UAC prompt asks me to give Administrator permission to Adobe DLM to download a file "C:/Users/my name/AppData/Roa.../getPlusPlus_Adobe_reg.exe" This did not happen before I started changing my firewall and anti-virus provider back and forth. How can I eliminate the UAC prompt? Should I simply give Administrator permission and download the file? If it is legit, should I keep the file on my computer; and will I find there is an easy way getting it off? At the moment I am using AVG 9.0, the Windows Vista firewall is on, and I have a router. The odd thing about all this; I checked my programs I am able to uninstall and there I see is Adobe Flash Player 10 in the list of programs I have which was installed months before all this happened. If I already had the newest Adobe Flash Player, why would Firefox 3.6 tell me to update my Adobe Flash Player? More to the point, what is the best way to deal with this annoyance: The other user on this computer has no problem like my UAC prompt blocking immediate internet connection through Firefox.

    There has been a security update of the Flash Player and the current version is 10.1 r85 , so you are two versions behind (previous was 10.1 r82).

    I am unable to type anything or use keyboard to type in Firefox. I am using Firefox 18.0 installed on Windows 7.
    I am able to Paste into the URL bar and also the Search bar but absolutely not able to type in it.
    I have already tried the "reset" option but still unable to type.
    Also tried Firefox in safe mode with disabled addons but still unable to type.
    Installed a fresh copy of firefox after uninstalling Firefox and deleting the old folder "Mozilla Firefox" from windows. but still unable to type.
    Please tell me a solution to this.

    I'm not on a laptop so I don't have a FN key. But on my desktop F9 + Windows key appears to have resolved the issue for me. Thanks for the help!

  • Merging reg files as a standard User without UAC prompt ?

    I need to merge reg files as a standard user.
    When I run regedit.exe as a standard user, I get an UAC prompt, thanks to the manifest file embedded in the .exe which requires privilieges elevation.
    I would like to run regedit.exe as a standard user, without UAC prompt, to merge some .reg files in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER path (standard user has permissions to do so).
    How could I do it ?
    (I tried a dirty way to do so : I copied regedit.exe from Windows XP to an user folder on my Vista machine, and it works. It runs silently (after setting the compatibility mode to "Windows XP SP2") and merge correctely my reg file.)

    and

    So to specifically edit for the current user only edit HKEY_CURRENT_USER and
    for all users (that don't have a user entry) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

    Hi all, need help here. I just face this problem today. When i click the pages icon and after choosing a blank template, i am unable to type anything in the document. All icons in the format bar at the top cannot be clicked (font, font size etc). I will have to open a text box in order to type it.
    If i open an existing PAGES doc, duplicate and rename it, then i delete all existing text that i have written, only then i can type in at the doc.

    Please help.

    Same problem.  Wasted 2 hours so far!  I use my personal email for registering all my HP products and can log-in to that fine. Trying to use same personal email for eprint seems to be problem. 

  • When opening a new window, it automatically loads last pop-up (?) content and I am unable to type in address bar or open a new tab in the new window.

    I don't know if they're technically pop-up windows (for example, if you do a search on kayak.com, it will automatically open a new priceline.com window with the results of the search), but this happens with pop-up blocker on or off. Other examples are a small info window from a financial or .edu site that opens up saying a session is about to expire, or answering an FAQ (with the exception of the priceline example, these windows don't have an address bar or display a URL). Anyway, after these windows are closed, if I try to open a new window, it will automatically load the content of that "pop-up". Whenever it does this, I am unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in that window.
    How do I fix this? All I want is to open a new window that's blank, not load prior content.

    It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware.
    Look thru your add-ons list and make sure you know what each one is
    there for. Also, check the programs that are on your computer

    My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

    I'm wondering if you figured out this problem. I'm having the exact same issue, which means I can't even log in to my iTunes account. I've even tried uninstalling it and reverting to iTunes 9.1.1, which then won't even open.

    I will attach a recent screen shot of a print window I opened and the extra code is above and below the window. There are matrix type blocks of code and then lines under the window. I get this all the time and it is getting worse.

  • Lots of UAC prompts appear from time to time

    With the latest build 10061, I regularly get 6 subsequent UAC prompts. The program that causes the prompts starts with C:\Windows\System32\Systemsett, but the path is too long to fit in the UAC window, so I don't know the name of the binary (there seem to
    be two that match).
    The prompts vary in the additional parameters, I can't memorize all, but there are things such as "setflightsdetectionfrequency" and "setflightsthresholdinternal".
    These prompts also appear when searching for updates manually or when changing update settings. I'm running UAC at the most "paranoid" level, I haven't tried if switching to a lower level resolves the issue.
    Is anyone else affected? Any ideas how to get rid of this (apart from disabling UAC)?

    As Lokanath said, there are no DATE bind variables.
    You can use a VARCHAR2 bind variable, and convert it to a DATE in your SQL statment.
    If you're using SQL*Plus, consider a substitution variable. It won't be as efficient as a bind variable, but it will be as convenient.
    For example:
    DEFINE  first_entrry_date = "DATE '2010-06-20''
    SELECT   ...
    WHERE   entry_date >= &first_entry_date
