Unable to uninstall Bonjour and iTunes, and cant get into iTunes at all!!!

I have been trying to install the new iPhone update for iTunes 9 (I have Windows Vista), but it didnt work. So following advice on the Apple Support pages I tried uninstalling it, as it suggests in this order... 1. iTunes 2. QuickTime 3. Apple Software Update 4. Apple Mobile Devices Support 5. Bonjour 6. Apple Application Support, and managed to uninstall everything apart from iTunes and Bonjour, it just will not let me remove these?? so I have tried to re-install iTunes 9, and then I get a message coming up saying 'the older version of Bonjour cannot be removed' and then at the end it says 'installation interupted' I now cannot open iTunes at all and the message I am getting is 'this action is only valid for products that are currently installed' very annoying as I cant do anything at all and so am unable to sync my iPhone!.
I hope someone can help!
Many thanks

1. iTunes 2. QuickTime 3. Apple Software Update 4. Apple Mobile Devices Support 5. Bonjour 6. Apple Application Support, and managed to uninstall everything apart from iTunes and Bonjour, it just will not let me remove these??

I have tried to change my User id which is an email address I no longer want to use. Now I am constantly getting requests from icloud and Apple ID for my password and cant get into my icloud account.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Hi Mike, the Keyboard shouldn't matter, it should be OK in that respect.

Tough without the Install disc, but some things to try...
Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...
    /sbin/fsck -fy

Tough without the Tiger Disk problems, but try fsck...
To use fsck, you must run it from the command line. Unlike using your mouse to open an application to do something, you'll need to type a text command at the prompt (#) to tell fsck what to do. The Terminal application (/Applications/Utilities) and single-user mode are two examples of command-line interfaces in which you can type such commands. To use fsck:
    1. Start up your computer in single-user mode to reach the command line. Hold CMD+s keys down at bootup.
Note: If necessary, perform a forced restart as described in the Emergency Troubleshooting Handbook that came with your computer. On desktop computers, you can do this by pressing the reset/interrupt button (if there is one) or holding down the power button for several seconds. On portable computers, simultaneously press the Command-Control-power keys. If your portable computer doesn't restart with this method, you may need to reset the Power Manager.
    2. At the command-line prompt, type /sbin/fsck -fy
(SPACE between fsck AND -fy important)
    3. Press Return. fsck will go through five "phases" and then return information about your disk's use and fragmentation. Once it finishes, it'll display this message if no issue is found:

The volume (name_of_volume) appears to be OK
If fsck found issues and has altered, repaired, or fixed anything, it will display this message:
***** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED *****

Important: If this message appears, repeat the fsck command you typed in step 2 until fsck tells you that your volume appears to be OK (first-pass repairs may uncover additional issues, so this is a normal thing to do).
    4. When fsck reports that your volume is OK, type reboot at the prompt and then press Return.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), & use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, reboot once more.
Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
Does it boot into Open Firmware with CMD+Option+o+f ?

    reset-nvram (press Enter)
    set-defaults (press Enter)
    reset-all (press Enter)
Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...

  • Someone stole my iPod and put a password on it, not I got it back and cant get into it

I bought an iPod from a friend of mine. I did not put a password on it because I didn't think I needed one and I had only had the iPod for about a week. Then someone stole the iPod. It was gone for about 2 months and then someone returned it to me and said they had "found" it at there house. But now it has a password on it and I don't know what it is so I cant even unlock my own iPod. I didn't have it for long before it was stolen so it wasn't even synced to my iTunes yet. Is there anything I can do to get into my iPod so I can use it again?

  • ORA-12514 after I Changed NLS_LANGUAGE and cant get into DB

Hello all, I just installed Oracle 10g XE on my Windows XP PC.
    I ran this command:
    ALTER SYSTEM SET NLS_LANGUAGE = 'AMERICAN_AMERICA.IW8PC1507' SCOPE=SPFILE;
and since then I cant connect to my DB, all i'm getting is:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connectdescriptor
I tried to do everything the Oracle 10g libraries says, but they all reffer to the Net Services Administrator's Guide and more stuff that are not supported in the XE.
I cant even see the connect page of the Oracle XE Management!!
please try to help me if you can.

'AMERICAN_AMERICA.IW8PC1507' is an invalid value for NLS_LANGUAGE.
So it is a bug that ALTER SYSTEM doesn't catch the invalid value.
It looks like your database doesn't startup after it is shutdown as you specified SCOPE=SPFILE.
You need to re-create the spfile
    create spfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\dbs/spfileXE.ora' FROM pfile='C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\config\scripts\init.ora';
What did you intend to do by executing the alter system command?
    Makoto

    Hello.....can you help me please?

"Hmmm. I would have thought it was. That's exactly what professional IT people do when they have an issue like this. It's a very professional step. Seems to me the major FAIL is here:"
So do you actually enjoy troll through forums to waste everyone's time?  Or do you just have no life?  How is use your backup a professional answer?  Is it because all of the IT guys have such a high IQ that they are inadequate of engaging in a human conversation?
"Do you actually think there's a computer system somewhere where that advice doesn't hold?"
Yes all the previous Mac OS I never had to backup before transition into newer version.
