Unable to update PSE 10. Getting error message re: server possibly down. However, get this message constantly.

About a week after iOS 5 was released in mind-October, my inability to get the upgrade onto my 3GS led me to messaages like "It's a rolling upgrade; Apple's servers are catching up. Try again later." Every time I plugged my iPhone into my PC, iTunes launched, synched and brought up the Store. Nothing on the screen said anything about downloading iOS 5. More Googling yielded messages from people who followed the same procedure, but evidently found a download link or something like that, because they had launched the upgrade procedure but then gotten a server error message. Meanwhile I was still getting nothing. I tried re-installing iTunes. Rebooting my PC. Yet, here it is November and each time I plug my iPhone into the PC, it's the same dead end. iTunes launches, synchs with the phone, and then shows me all the latest groovy hits I can download. Absolutely nothing about the iOS 5 upgrade steps, contrary to Apple's messages saying "Just plug in your iPhone and iTunes will do the rest." Maybe there's a secret password?

I'll answer my own question for the benefit of anyone with similar symptoms who searches the forum. Today just for grins, instead of letting the step of plugging the iPhone 3GS into the PC launch iTunes, I launched iTunes first then plugged in the phone. THAT succeeded in bringing up a dialog box that got me started on the road to the iOS 5 upgrade. One more thing: One of the steps that no one mentions is that once your iPhone is plugged into the PC and shows up in iTunes, click once on the topmost list of items representing your iPhone. That will take you to your iPhone "home page." There's an update button in the center of the home page screen that you'll use. It's pretty quick; only took about 30 minutes on my basic DSL connection. Have fun!

Keep getting odd server error messages.

Upon restart I keep getting an error message that says cannot connect to server - but each time it has different name like this:
myname.apple.com
myname2.apple.com
myname4.apple.com
Then tonight - trying to update iPhone, couldn't update because couldn't find server, server message saying couldn't find:
albert.apple.com
(alpert is NOT my name - not even close...)
I am using MacBook Pro Mac OS X 10.5.8
Do I have some kind of "bug" - suggestions? I found a link to manual updates download via info here in communities and have done that.

Problem updating itunes, keep getting invalid signature error message!!

Trying to update my itunes to latest version, keep getting "itunes has invalid signature" error message, any ideas of how to remedy this?

I've had this problem for awhile in Windows XP SP3. Last night, the simplest thing occurred to me...here's what I did (and I'm telling because it worked).
1. Clicked on Start
2. Clicked on Control Panel
3. Chose Add/Remove Programs
4. Found Apple Software Updater and clicked Remove, then responded Yes
5. Went to apple.com and clicked on Support, and then Downloads
6. Downloaded the latest version of Safari ONLY
7. Installed Safari (knowing it would install the latest version of Apple Software Update)
8. AFTER the installation was complete, I clicked again on Start, then All Programs
9. then, clicked on Apple Software Update

Unable to remove Quick Time - getting a 'fatal error' message

I have two issues, both related I think to not being able to get onto itunes
I get an error message on the itunes home page saying it failed to initialize the plug ins and then closes down.
Also I am unable to remove Quick Time - I get a message saying a fatal error occured and it will not let me continue. I was hoping to remove both itunes which I had previously loaded, and remove Quick Time so that I could start again, although the whole thing is wearing me out

Managed to remove and reload Quick Time but this has not fixed the problem. still having trouble with Plugins on the Itunes homepage - can't move forward with this totally stuck

You may want to check whether your Web application has been configured to use "Integrated Windows Authentication".
Go to your IIS, check the Properties of your web application under Web Sites\Default Web Site, select "Directory Security" tab, click the first "Edit..." button (for Anonymous access and authentication control). At the very bottom, make sure "Integrated Windows authentication" is checked.
Re-start your Web application.

Adobe Air error message when using PSE 10

When I try using the tips in PSE 10 I get an error message from Adobe Air stating that it is damaged. Have tried uninstalling and re-installing, but that hasn't helped. I have windows 7

Ever since updating to new OS, my iphone won't sync to itunes. When I plug in the phone to the PC, it says I need to update itunes to 10.6.3 or later. I did, but still get the same error message.

In the details it is mentioned that it is an outdated version of Java.
Is this a security risk that i need to live with to get CS5 to run with Yosemite?
Also i need to reject messages from Java in the future about updates, or not?

You may have triggered some intermittent database issues but it should be running smooth by now. Let us know if you still see server errors.
Also, if your addons appear to go missing after updating there is a workaround http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2011/09/28/issue-discovered-with-firefox-add-on-upgrades/ And there is a 7.0.1 fix on its way.

When I try to update I get an U44M1I210 error message, "Unable to extract the downloaded files" - help please, applies to latest Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop CC

When I try to do a CC update I get an U44M1I210 error message, "Update failed - Unable to extract the downloaded files. Press retry to download again. (U44M1I210)" - help please - re-downloading makes no difference, applies to latest Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop CC, others seemed to update without problems. I can see the disk image files in AAMUpdater folder but they will not open and come up with "couldn't be opened - resource busy" message.

Yes Jeff, I did all those several times to no avail.
I've included a small error snippet from two installs here. In Creative Cloud when updating the Apps, all 3 get to 50%, then the failure occurs. Retrying starts at 50% and fails the same way each time.
This first one is a segment from the Indesign updater - I have always had the all hard drive folders with read and write privileges allowed and I checked again, this is still the case so I do not know why this particular error message is arising. The second snippet if from the Illustrator update.

Try rebooting your router and or cable modem. Unplug it/them for about 30 seconds and then plug back in. See if it works then. Reboot your iPad as well.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Windows performed an automatic update. I am now unable to use Firefox. I receive an error message "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server". Windows IE works, Outlook works. What did Microsoft do to me this time?!!!

Windows performed an automatic update on my PC this morning. Now, Firefox does not work other than in SAFE mode. I get "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server..." I downloaded and reinstalled the latest version of Firefox and get the same error message. IE works. MS Outlook works. What did Windows do to me this time?

You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.
