Unable to upload static images and files

Hello everyone. I configured Oracle Apex 3.2.1 with apex listener. The problem is that I can not make the upload of a static image in the table wwv_flow_files. Thanks to those who will be kind enough to give me a hint

If i upload a static image from shared component>images i get an error from apex because it is unable to find the file even if i selected it with the browse button.

Different between upload an image and a XML file??

To uploading an image file then to database, i use the following function:

You mention the getLoader() method: are you using BC4J? If so, then you have to write the code yourself. BC4J is integrated with the interMedia database object types, and knows how to handle upload requests to these types. If you want to write a simple BLOB or CLOB column, then you can do so, but you have to write the code. See my reply to your other post below.

Dreamweaver-upload an image's file name to DB, so it can be retrieved through a site folder

I see a lot of help on how to save a file as a blog in an SQL database. I would prefer to do it the recommended way, through a site folder. I have a bunch of pictures that I want to match with various people (for a soccer team), and display those on a detail page. I have the Dreamweaver Missing Manual, which gives tips on how to create a URL to retrieve the data.
So I have a field in the SQL database for the image, but my question is, when I create a file field on the form, select the image in my folder and click to select it, and submit the form, the file name (or path) doesn't show up in the SQL database or on the Detail page. I feel like I'm missing one small element, and I hope that's the case.

No. That's not enough. Two things need to happen:
The image has to be uploaded to a specified location on the server (this is actually a multi-step process)
The name of the image has to be saved in the database
Then your code retrieves the name of the image and uses that name in a link, e.g.,
<img src="path_to_the_image/<?php echo $rs_whatever['image_name']; ?>" />

Unable to upload/download large html files(71 MB) into rooms

I am unable to upload download HTML file(71 MB)into folders of collabration rooms.if it is uploaded also its getting Scripted/corrupted.
other files are working properly.
Is it because of large size or any other configuration settings.there is no error msg buts its getting scripted.

the note also says: "This restriction is no longer valid".
With SP19 I do run tests continously that test content up to 2GB.
Amit: What portal version are you running? What repository implementation is the file stored in? If the file is stored in a file system, what is it's file size limitation?

Compressing (mpeg4?) a movie with static images and fades. Best settings?

I'm using compressor with Final Cut HD and a Powermacg5.
I have a movie made mostly of static images (experimental piece with landscapes) and fades between them.
Firstly, does anyone have any great tips for compressing a quicktime movie for the web (so probably mpeg 4) that works well with images that are mostly still? The mpeg4 setting with h264 are okay (ntsc image size, 30fps), but every so often there's sudden blocky-ness when there is a little bit of motion in the frame. Any ideas?
Secondly, the images go really chunky when there is a slow dissolve between the images, any compression ideas there?
I'll be experimenting myself but I thought it best to ask you guys first ... any tips?

Is it possible to compress a movie ( 83 minutes long
) for a Single DVD without any pixellations ?
If so I need to know what is the best settings...
I keep compressing with a bit rate about 6 and my dvd
still looks bad (pixels on transitions and sometimes
pauses).
I don't know what I could have done wrong !!!
I don't want to use double layer and I can't split my
movie into 2 dvds.

I think it should be, the setting I always use are:
Vide: 7.4Mbps, One pass, Motion Estimation: Best
Audio:Dolby 2.0 Datarate 256 kbps.
I have tried a lot of combos but this is the only settings I can get with no pixellations. I'm always happy with the result and its fast! You might need to knock back the data rate to make 83 mins fit.

Installing XI sp14, unable to upload XI CONTENT SAP_BASIS file

Installing XI sp14, as part of upload XI CONTENT SAP_BASIS file (XI3_0_SAP_BASIS_6.40_14_00.tpz),
1. copied this tpz file to directory E:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import
2. Choose Integration Repository (Design).
3. Choose u00A8 Tools u00A8 Import Design Objects
But this does not show any files to import.
we follwed the same process with SP13 and it used to work.

The columns have IMAGE and RESUME.
After binding and run, the two fields show no meaning in browser. Should I do some extra work? How do I display them?Thanks!

Static images and font licensing in embedded device?

If the designer of a GUI for an embedded industrial product uses an Adobe font (like Helvetica Neue) for display of numeric information, can the manufacturer of the GUI include static, bitmapped images of numerals from the font in the embedded software, thereby negating the need for the font file, and thus negating the need for an OEM/embedded license for the product?
To put it another way:
Licensing the font software itself is almost certainly cost prohibitive for this kind of application. Because only a few characters are needed, can licensing costs be avoided by including those characters as bitmapped files (created in Photoshop with a licensed copy of the font) instead of the original font software?

The licencing pertains to the use of the live font, so your using images of letters/numerals can be no breach of the terms.

Digital Image and File Size

Other than using an Image editing App such as iPhoto or Photoshop Elements, is there a way to figure out or calculate the file size (in MB) of an image containing xx number of pixels? Thanks, Bob

To add to Barbara's post, you can set the pixel dimensions and dpi to what you need in PS/PSE and then do a Save As where you'll get a slider to set the quality level and it will tell you what file size that will result in.
However, as Terence pointed out, some trial and error in exporting out of iPhoto and setting the dimensions to what you want and selecting a different quality level will quickly tell you what you need to achieve those specs.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Safari unable to upload to "Image Bank"

I've tried at work and at home, both on dual G5's to upload images to company's Image Bank (on a server in The Netherlands). I used IE (I upgraded from Panther) and uploaded fine, although IE is extremely unstable. It's not the proxies nor FTP issues because I've uploaded from PC's at both home and work. The Image Bank site is heavy duty java and it launches an executable when pressing "upload" after selecting the image. I'm current with all updates. There's no crashing or panicking going on when I press upload, just a quick nothingness. Anybody?

Can you confirm if another browser besides IE will work? Keep in mind that IE included it's own Runtime for Java.

Adding new images and files into the Media Browser?

I am trying to put all my image files on my computer into iPhoto and having no luck- for whatever reason, iPhoto does like the format of my files, nearly all of which are .tifs.
I'd like to get all the pictures into the media browser for Keynote so I can easily put images into presentations. This is mostly for making presentations for scientific talks of my data. A lot of images of tissues, blots, etc.
Is there a way to get files/folders into the media browser and bypassing iPhoto?
I can't get iPhoto (version 5) to work properly on my computer at all so I think I'm pretty fooked.

Depending on what you want to do you can open any folder and drag photos from that folder into keynote without using iphoto. But that could be tedious if you want to insert a lot of photos. If you want only one photo per slide you can drag the photos (a bunch at a time) on the sidebar where you see the thumbnails of the slides and each photo will be placed on a page. The drawback with that is sometimes the order of the photos may have to be tweaked.
