Unable Update Extension

When I run JDeveloper (Version:10.1.3.4 10g) on WinXP SP2, I meet problem as fellows:
1) When I click Help/Check for Updates, go to next, add Official Oracle Extensions and Updates center (http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=updatecenter:uc), then click "Next" again, I got "No updates are availabele" message.
2)Then I close this Updates wizard and go to Tools/Preferencese/Extensions, the message "Automatic check for updates was unable to connect" shows on the right, if I check "Automatically Check for Updates" check box.
I am sure that there are some updates my PC needed. But I don't know why I got these two message. I would like to get your help. Thanks!

Hi,
Very often, issues with check for updates are caused by misconfigured or incompatible web proxies.
You can set your HTTP proxy in the Web Browser and Proxy page in Preferences. Note that if your proxy server requires NTLM authentication, it may not work (this is because Java's implementation of NTLM proxy authentication is broken).
Thanks,
Brian

  • ANN: Updated extensions for DW 8.0.2

Adobe released the Dreamweaver 8.0.2 updater about a month
    ago, and since
that time I have been working furiously on getting my
    incompatible
extensions updated to work around the bugs introduced by the
    updater. In
short, the Dreamweaver recordset functionality for previewing
    recordsets and
showing in the Bindings panel is broken with any kind of
    dynamic SQL code
(such as dynamic sorting or dynamic SQL). Thanks to the good
    folks at
Interakt (www.interaktonline.com), who provided me with some
    alternate
Recordset functionality, I was able to make the extensions
    compatible. The
DW 8.0.2 updater fixes some SQL injection problems and should

your copy of Dreamweaver 8. The DW 8.0.2 updater can be found
    at the Adobe
    web site:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html
The affected extensions that have been updated are the
    following:
    Dynamic Search Suite for ColdFusion
    Dynamic Search Suite for PHP
    Dynamic Search Suite for ASP/VB
Sort Repeat Region (ASP/VB, ColdFusion, and PHP versions)
If you have purchased any of these extensions in the past and

  • How do you update Extension Manager CS5 for Lion?

I can't get the Extension Manager update to work since I installed Lion on my Mac.  What do you do to stop this error:
Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 Update
Adobe Extension Manager CS5 has been moved or deleted improperly. Please launch or reinstall the application to update the location and try again. To remove the product from the system, please uninstall product using the aliases under "/Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers"
I've tried re-installing it & that does no good, I get the same message. How do I upt AEM CS5 on a Lion Mac?

Can you uninstall Extension Manager successfully? Was it still in file system after the uninstallation? Can you reboot your Mac and try again?
You can also check installation log files of Extension Manager in /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers. Try to find any clue for the issue, or paste the content here.
If all of these still do not help, you may need to do more:
    1. Back up all files stored in Adobe product directories. This may include custom plug-ins or profiles you have installed.
    2. Uninstall all Adobe Create Suite products.
    3. Download Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool from http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html, and following steps in the page to clean your system.

  • [SLVD] force using /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions/libglx.so

Latest versions of catalyst bring powerXpress support - it means that we can now switch between discreet AMD gfx driver and integrated intel gfx driver (and maybe also switch between catalyst and ati oss driver).
I'm working on it now, unfortunatelly it's not that easy to implement in a right way in Arch. There's no way without doing some ugly tricks (like creating /usr/X11R6 dir). Although i must say that i almost succeeded.
Yes, i know that /usr/X11R6/lib is obsolete and not supported by Arch, but i must to place catalyst's libGL.so somewhere so it wouldn't conflict with libgl's libGL.so (+ more important is to be able to update libgl package without problems), and that directory is looking good.
Basically this whole powerXpress suport = linking libGL and libglx libraries into right place. Let me show you some functions:
    switching libGL:
    function switch_to_amd() {
    ln -snf /usr/X11R6/lib/fglrx/fglrx-libGL.so.1.2 \
    /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2
    ln -snf libGL.so.1.2 /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1
    ln -snf libGL.so.1 /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so
    ldconfig /usr/X11R6/lib
    function switch_to_intel() {
    ln -snf /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2 \
    /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2
    ln -snf libGL.so.1.2 /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1
    ln -snf libGL.so.1 /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so
    ldconfig /usr/X11R6/lib
    switching libglx:
    function switch_to_amd() {
    ln -snf /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions/fglrx/fglrx-libglx.so \
    /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions/libglx.so
    function switch_to_intel() {
    ln -snf /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so \
    /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions/libglx.so
    I've created /etc/ld.so.conf.d/catalyst.conf with:
    /usr/X11R6/lib
inside. I've also added /usr/X11R6/lib into PATH in /etc/profile in 1st place (just in case).
And it's working fine (i mean catalyst is working fine) untill i will install libgl (so it's not fine)... After restart, when running X server screen goes blank and i cannot do anything (even when it's switched to amd). /var/log/Xorg.0.log looks fine, no errors, it's longer than usuall with those lines:

    [ 2515.962] (II) fglrx(0): Interrupt handler Shutdown.
    but it doesn't look relevant.
    I don't know is it:
    - /usr/X11R6/lib that is chosen after /usr/lib
    - OR /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions/ that is chosen after /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/  - i though that updates should be taken in 1st place by default
    Maybe both of them?
Right now i'm thinking that this is the problem of /usr/X11R6/lib that need to be taken before /usr/lib, so my question is same as the question in topic of this post.
I will really appreciate any help.
    Btw: there's only one file in /usr/X11R6/lib : /usr/X11R6/lib/fglrx/fglrx-libGL.so.1.2
    + there's only one file in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions : /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions/fglrx/fglrx-libglx.so
I took this whole solution and scripts from SUSE (AMD's solution is really ugly). SUSE also doesn't like /usr/X11R6/lib, but they used it and there it seems to work. I mean i don't have SUSE, i just see their catalyst packaging script.

've installed libgl, then removed /usr/lib/libGL.so* and problem persist. Then i reinstalled libgl, and removed /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so - it was working fine...
This may be because of  a fallback option that if libglx.so is not found , xorg uses libglx.xorg .
But libglx.so owned by catalyst (/usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions/libglx.so) should be found, and is found if only libglx.so owned by libgl (/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so) is not present. And if the last one is absent i can see in Xorg.0.log that xserver/catalyst is using that one placed in updates dir, not libglx.xorg.
Now i removed libgl, and removed /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions/libglx.so, so catalyst should got troubles, restart X and same problem: blank screen with only one char sign on top left corner: _
So obviously catalyst need that /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions/libglx.so
I just don't know how to force using /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions directory over /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions dir...
Maybe i need something like LD_PRELOAD or something.
This maybe not clear but what i'm trying to reach right now is to get catalyst working when libgl package is present, cuz it's looking like good begining.
Lone_Wolf wrote:It does look like xorg doesn't entirely folllow ldconfig / symbolic links , so i'm inclined to suggest to keep things as simple as possible and change only what's really necessary .
Ofcourse, i also don't like this whole /usr/X11R6/lib thing. Hell no, i even don't got intel gfx , i'm only trying to implement something that can be usefull for others.
And since SUSE know how to use /usr/lib/xorg/modules/updates/extensions directory over /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions i'm sure it's also possible in Arch. Maybe the right and only way is to change something in xserver compilation, i don't know. Right now i'm trying to do this in "easier" way.
    Lone_Wolf wrote:
As your libraries have different names as the mesa ones :
    place fglrx-libGL.so.1.2 in /usr/lib
    put fglrx-libglx.so in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions
for libgl only change the symbolic link just above the binary :  /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
    for libglx change /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so
That ofcourse should work - since it will link to proper libs.
But it's not what i'm trying to reach : catalyst and libgl installed without conflicts.
Lone_Wolf wrote:If that works, you'll atleast know the switch is possible.
Just a mention: this whole linking thing isn't anything new, it was used by linux users for long time so such switch is possible (as i can see they used to use such linking as you suggested but imho it's bad way - it should to be done without pacman's conflicts), now ati is just trying to implement it by default.
This powerXpress support is still in developement, although i can see what way ati picked up, i'm trying to follow it and i'm pretty sure that it will work if i will follow it. The sooner - the better.

  • Updated extensions

Is there any way to get a version history, or release notes for updated extensions? I noticed that the VCS Framework was updated today, but I can't find any information to tell me what changes have been made, so I don't know if it's relevant to us (we're using CVSNT).
    thanks,

I'm not sure, but it's likely the VCS extension was revved to support the final version of either Subversion or MSTS support. It's likely that you don't need this update for CVS, although it certainly shouldn't be harmful to install it.
    Thanks,

    Hi Simon,
I found cause of update failure! It was the HTTP proxy setting.
I turned off "Use HTTP proxy server" checkbox in SQL Developer -> Tools -> Preferences -> Web Browser and Proxy.
After this action SQL Developer was successfully updated with Times Ten Extension.

  • Strange! Cannot update extensive, published iWeb site.

I've been trying to research a problem in Discussions similar to my own but cannot come across a satisfactory answer.
For the past two weeks, I've experienced very slow "Publish" updating of my extensive iWeb site. In the last 24 hours, I've been unable to update the webiste at all. Here's the error message:
"Can’t create the file 'shapeimage2_link2.png.' The disk may be damaged, full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges."
Mind you, I'm well sort of my iDisk capacity, have the current version of iWeb, am running a reliable high-speed connection and have not experienced any hard disk problems that I'm aware of.
I have tried trashing the username/application support/iWeb/Domain file and letting iWeb build a new Domain file — to no avail. I've quit and rebooted — to no avail. I've run Disk Utility — to no avail.
    Suggestions? I'm at wit's end!

Thanks, James, for your always helpful replies and information.
Paul, here are two things I tried with some success. I deleted new blog material — those which hadn't published — and added, then published, each new blog one at a time. Somewhere along the line, one of the new blogs apparently corrupted the ability to publish all of them at once. Also, I launched iWeb, put the Domain file (username/application support/iWeb/Domain) in the trash then published. When prompted to save the new Domain file, I chose the folder where the old one resided. Subsequent publishes have gone a bit smoother.
Still, one wishes iWeb were easier and more reliable for updates.
