Unclean conversion of chart reports to html form

dear all,
i created some charts like pie, bar graphs. i want to convert
that chart reports to html form.
my problem is that after conversion of chart reports to html form,
whatever the part of chart is unclean, it's totally in block colour.
what to do to present that chart part in RGB colour format on
the web. please some one help me as it is urgently required.
i am using the reports buider 6i.

Here 'part of chart is unclean' means: that a report contained
two parts one is normal )in the form of data) , 2nd one is graphical
representation(pie or bar graph which is imported from graphics
builder) of that dat.
The above quoted statement means that graphical representation
part is not clear.
i tried for the solution(Danny's suggestion). but it didn't workout.
could any one tell another solution?

Calling a JSP Report From HTML parameter form

Hi,
I m trying to run a JSP Report from a HTML parameter Form. The JSP reports requires a parameter named userid in the URL with a valid value for database connection.
eg. URL "http://win2kdb.oracle9iis.com:7778/repdemo/examples/Tools/fm_crdinf.jsp?userid=sysapps/system@trt1". We have created a variable on the server named "parmformjsp" with a value "sysapps/system@trt1". Now i use this variable in the URL as follows, eg. "http://win2kdb.oracle9iis.com:7778/repdemo/examples/Tools/fm_crdinf.jsp?parmformjsp".
When i use this URL to call another JSP report from a JSP report it works fine, but the same does not work when calling a JSP report from a HTML form.
the code for HTML parameter form calling a report is as follows,

If i create an input parameter named "userid" with a valid database connection value, remove the ?parmformjsp part from the action URL then it works fine. How can i call the JSP report using the parmformjsp variable name instead of using the "userid" clause in the URL.Can anyone suggest any workaround....

Reports 6i -- How to create an HTML form template before form processing

Hello Oracle Reports Gurus,
I'm using Oracle Reports 6i and trying to create an HTML form WITHOUT using the Oracle Reports 6i parameter form builder. The goal: to take a web page already in existence containing a form with checkboxes and radio buttons and make it 'transparent' to my users in hooking it to Oracle Reports. So far, I made my HTML page (with form and all) a "header" file for my Oracle report and didn't place anything in the parameter form builder. However, upon doing so, Reports 6i decided to be extra helpful and place form elements into the Parameter form builder.
So,
1) Is there a way to take a web page with a form and all and easily "plug it" into Oracle Reports 6i WITHOUT using the Parameter Form builder?
2) Is there another way to create an HTML form that will allow me to have radio buttons, checkboxes, etc?

i am not exactly sure what you are trying to do. since you state you use HTML, i assume you are running 3-tier with the report server, right ?
if so, the easiest way to hook your parameter form up to your report is to just pass the URL to the report as the action URL for your form.
in 9i/10g we provide the Reports Web source, which is based on JSP and allows you to paste HTML into your report to create a highly customized HTML parameter form.
i am afraid in 6i, we don't provide a way to actually combine your HTML form ito the report. it needs to stay separate, but can link to the report using the way i described above.

I want to display a report based on a complex view, but I want to make each record updateable via an HTML-form. I added to the view a column which generates HTML, but when I change the combobox, I get an error in the status-bar of the browser "Object doesn't support this property or method."
The submit-action (do_update) is a PL/SQL procedure.

The problem is solved ! I used the same form_name for each record, wich caused the error.

Images in HTML forms and/or reports

Hi,
Apologies if a stupid question, but can you display a combination of data and image content in Portal HTML forms and/or reports? If so, how?
This question assumes that the image in question is browser-supported (e.g. gif file), and the link to it is in the same database table as the data being reported (as a bfile data type).
Alternatively, what if the image was actually directly stored in the database table as a BLOB data type?

You can build portal forms to upload images. You can use blob columns here. You can also have images in a report. This will be the SQL to query data from tables having intermedia data.

Is it possible to create Web report that will be take input parameters from html form? What program is necessary for me?

You can create a custom parameter form in Reports Builder for your report, and when you run this report on the web using rwservlet with PARAMFORM=YES, this paramform will be displayed in HTML format before the report is run.
Further, you can also create a JSP report with a parameter form, to be deployed on the web in a JSP engine. Take a look at the OTN 'Getting Started With Oracle9i Reports' link below for details:

Report 9i parameter form problem, is it a bug?

Hi all,
I am using Dev 9i IDS, rel. 9.0.2, running in windows 2000. I've been converting my forms and reports from previous versions to 9i, and I came across an issue with the report's parameter form.
First, I thought it could be a problem during the conversion , but to make sure I developed a new form and a new report straight in the 9i IDS suite, using Scott's DEPT table. The new form is simple having a button to call the new report which is based on the DEPT table and accepts an user's input for a dept. no.
The same problem occurs:
- in the form, if I set PARAMFORM=HTML then it could not open the report parameter form, hence the report could not run.
- if I set PARAMFORM=YES, then the report parameter form is displayed, then I can enter a value for the department number. BUT, when I clicked the Submit Query button the report failed, and I received the following error:

I have no problem integrating others reports that don't have parameter form using run_report_object. And, I've checked and tried different ways of manipulating the parameter value using to_number in the report's where clause etc., it never worked.
I guess the only workaround is to create the parameter form in Forms builder. Is there other ways of doing it , or is it a bug of the 9i IDS suites that needs to be fixed?

There's a note published on Metalink, note 139546.1, showing a workaround to thi problem. but
- it is rather lengthy and confusing, may not be practical .
- it only applies to Forms and Reports 6i.
However, it shows that the problem comes from 2 items in the source code of the parameter form which is produced by the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT built-in:
1. <form method=post action=""> where action contains an empty string, it needs to have a valid entry, e.g.
<form method=post action="http://hostname:port/cgi/rwci60.exe?">
2. <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value=""> where hidden value is also empty. It should contains all parameter values passed to the report parameter form, e.g.
<input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="report%3test+destype%3Dcache+userid%Dscott.....">
And that is what I found, but I am reluctant to try it in 9i IDS, hoping Oracle has a better solution than that.

Report in HTML web service... unnecessarity tags added

My requirement is to generate a report in html format in sap and get it through a web service.
I need to invoke a sap web service which executes a report function and returns the report in HTML format.
I am using an RFC BAPI which uses WWW_HTML_FROM_LISTOBJECT function to convert report to html.
The problem is when the RFC is returning xml data with the html extra data is also being sent which are not of UTF8 charset format but windows-1252 charset.
So I am unable to parse that xml.
The extra tags added are <LIST_PAGES>...</LIST_PAGES>, <HYPER_TAGS>...</HYPER_TAGS>, <XFORMAT_DESCRIPTION>...</XFORMAT_DESCRIPTION>. I think these are being added by WWW_HTML_FROM_LISTOBJECT function.
I don't want these tags to be sent... how can I solve it.

in the left window from the image, i checked for the value of parameter param_cls, and it's ok (16).
when i run the report from the Reports, i see all the repors (that table), but when i run from forms, i got just the headers of the table, the rest is invisible. i don't know why happens this..
:control.lst_clase returns a char, so i convert that char to a number, and that's the parameter passed from Forms.
Please help me..
edit: i saw in Reports that there are two buttons: Run Web Layout and Run Paper Layout. from the Forms, i wanna run the web layout

Then tried to run the form but i got this error frm-41213 unable to connect to the report server.
Any one please help me.

Using xsgl:insert-request to insert non-English character data from HTML form

I tried to insert a text written in French and pasted into an HTML form into my database following the recipe from the XSQL release notes.
The table:
create table content_object (

XML file the form is posted to:

All strings were cropped at the point where the first accented character appeared.
Any idea why this is happening? With English texts it works just fine.

It's a JDK bug in character set conversion that has a simple workaround, just indicate the ISO-8859-1 encoding on your XSQL page. See the end of this other thread for details.

Hello all.
Bi Publisher is great, but has a very high price tag. It's even more expensive than Forms & Reports Services. We are considering APEX to replace Forms & Reports on the web, but the reporting limitations are still a problem.
I wonder if there is another option.
