Uninstall and reinstall Java Runtime.

They tell me that I have to uninstall and reinstall Java Runtime.
Whenever I uninstall stuff (without an uninstall wizard), my computer ends up littered with all kinds of little leftover debris and whizbos and doodas and figgle poots and such.....hiding in all sorts of sneaky places.....little buggers.
Can you help me uninstall cleanly and completely? Or direct me to someone who can?

Also, try a game called Supremacy1914 and run that game.  Its an outside browser game (Essintially) that runs via Java.  It should give you a security option to allow the certificate to play the game.  Some games require certificates and depending on your user account, it could be blocked.

    Hi there,
Earlier iTunes (and supporting applications) need to be completely uninstalled before you can install the new version. Here's the complete Apple info on this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Mobile device application will most likely fail to uninstall, so you would need to visit its location(s) and manually delete the files then folder(s). The location of the folders is documented in this link from Apple.
It's a pain, but it should work.

I continue to get r6025 runtime error with iTunes version 10.6.3.25.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.  Happens when I search in iTunes Store.  Ideas to fix?

    Hi,
got it fixed! My Son had both files on his Win7 iTunes installation. Never mind he had no issues whith ths iTunes and iPhone Sync. So I checked my other Win XP PC, where I don't have this problem syncing my ipad, and surprise. Both files do NOT show up on this PC. So I renamed the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe I found under c:\program file\iTunes and synced again my iPhone and it went through without any error. So the problem might be and unremoved iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe or the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll under the iTunes install root folder and this even if I had checked that the folder was completely removed during iTunes unistall.
Please try yourselve and just rename the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe to iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe_ under c:\program file\iTunes or get a copy of the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll and cp to c:\program file\iTunes.

  • Uninstall the old Java runtime enviroment 1.4.1_02

I cannot uninstall the old java runtime enviroment 1.4.1_02 from "Add/Romove Program" from Windows XP.
Everytime i click on the remove button there, it's still there after the uninstall process, even i did a restart on it.
As far as i could remember, i installed this runtime while i was using Netscape, but Netscape had been deleted from my computer, therefore i wanna uninstall it as well.
    THANX

Are the files removed from your computer or nothing happens neither in the Control Panel nor in the installation folder? you can solve the problem in several ways: have a look at the registry, if you know what to do... or simply reinstall the whole thing to the same folder you installed it the first time and then redo the uninstall process. IMHO it's only the uninstal file information that are being stored to your computer.
    Ciao

  • HT1751 I need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (it won't let me update). So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I use a Flash Drive to do so?

I need to uninstall and reinstall iTunes (it won't let me update). I have IE 8 on Windows XP, and iTunes 10 something. In my Program files list I see iTunes and iTunes (2) and even iPod and iPod (2) where a tech had to back up and do this for me before. I'm just trying to fix it all. I keep getting the "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi' in the box below." I can even run a search and find the folder, but it gives me the same error message. I was planning on using the Microsoft Fix-It tool  to help uninstall then Reinstall iTunes. But I need to backup my library. So, how do I copy or back up my iTunes library of over 1,500 songs? Can I copy the folder to desktop or can I use a Flash Drive to backup my music? I don't want to do anything until I know for sure how I can backup my songs, and then reinstall them into iTunes. Thanks for any help.

Ok, thanks that helps. I don't have an external hard drive though. What about backing up through 'the cloud'? I'm just wondering since my husband syncs his iPod to the PC through iTunes and he's worried that he will lose all the songs on his iPod if the library is lost from iTunes and he tries to 'sync' it up again. I'm not exactly sure how to  'copy the entire iTunes folder' either. I kinda suck at this unless I have step by step instructions, which I haven't found yet on iTunes help or other sources.
The only way I know how to back anything up is by going back to a restore point, etc. (as stated before, we don't have an external hard drive.)
    Thanks for the info.

  • I tried to update itunes and now it won't open, how do I fix it?  Will uninstalling and reinstalling erase my library?

I tried to update itunes and now it won't open, how do I fix it?  Will uninstalling and reinstalling erase my library?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. I was merely trying to take a document I had worked on and open it in pages, but it said my version was too old. When I updated, it wouldn't load. Now I cannot do anything. I hope that the reinstall fixes it without losing everything. Please advise!!! Yes, I am in panic mode.

  • Windows error: iTunes crashes (uninstall and reinstall does not work)

    Hello all.
I (and another user) have had a problem with iTunes crashing when trying to open it. Windows just generates the typical vague error message that explains nothing as to what the problem is. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work, and using the "Repair" option did not work either.
This was the solution. Hope it works for you. Cheers.
    C ;o)
Here are the steps, some might be redundant, but still follow them to try and get iTunes to work.
    1. *Extremely important* Close the QuickTime launcher in the tray on the right side of your Windows TaskBar (right-click on the blue QuickTime "Q" logo next to where you have the time and date and select "exit".) The QuickTime logo should disappear from the tray.
    2. Go to where your iTunes library folder is, copy it and put it elsewhere on yoour hard-drive. This is where you asked your iTunes to point to and keeps the full repository of the files sync'ed to your iPod. If you don't do this, you will have to re-create the full library of all the music and files you have put into iTunes.
    3. Unistall iTunes and reboot your PC.
    4. Go to c:\Program Files\Quicktime and delete this whole folder.
    5. Go to c:\Windows\System 32 and: delete the Quicktime FOLDER there; then (ii) scroll down and delete all other QuickTime related files (there should be 5-10 of them, I didn't count, some will have a name like QuickTMvr whatever).
    6. Empty Recycle Bin.
    7. Reboot your PC.
    8. Go back to Apple Website and download: iTunes, and (ii) QuickTime installation only (without iTunes).
    9. Install QuickTime FIRST (use newly downloaded version)! Check it works OK by opening it.
    10. Close QuickTime lanucher from tray, as explained above in step 1.
    11. Install iTunes (use the newly downloaded version).
    12. Open iTunes. If it opens fine (clap your hands and say "hurray", and actually I said out loud to my PC, "Please work" and it did - I don't know if this step helped at all. ;o) ), then close iTunes FIRST BEFORE DOING THE NEXT STEP. Go to where the new iTunes (and library) folder is, rename the new iTunes folder (as you might notice when/if you open iTunes, that it is all blank), and copy the old iTunes folder (from step 2) to the same location. Re-open iTunes. It should be the way it opened the last time.

    Btw.
Don't forget that, from my experience, most iTunes errors comes from malfunctioning instances of QuickTime.

  • I installed Facetime on my Mac but it doesnt show "Contacts" . Every time I sign in to my account, I can only see the icon"Next" but nothing happens when I click that. Is there an way to uninstall and reinstall facetime ?

What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

I want to delete photos that are on my iphone, by doing so from the computer, not my phone.
Syncing your device with itunes will then enable you to remove whatever photos you wish to remove from your device deleting them with the computer and not the iphone.

  • I went to do an Itunes update, got error mssg and I needed to uninstall and reinstall. It's is on an external hard drive so I changed the default drive that and I'm getting this error mssg:"Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify sufficient privileges

I went to do an iTunes upgrade and got an error message that it could not be found? It suggested I uninstall and reinstall my iTunes.  After a failed attempt, I realized the location was set to the default hard drive of C:, so I tried again by changing the location to my external hard drive.  Now I get an error message that says:

    Hello staceonbass,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Best of luck,

  • HT1926 Routine update of iTunes failed. Eventually had to uninstall and reinstall iTunes x2. Installation failed with message 'Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

    Hi,
When I tried to install iTunes update this failed, then tried to uninstall and reinstall itunes twice. Failed again. Could not open iTunes. I use an HP PC. Even tried to disable Macafee firewall, still itunes failed to install. Please help!!

Followed these instructions with a few changes. (Windows 7 x64)
Uninstalled programs in the following order:
    - Itunes
    - Apple Application Support
    - Apple Software Update
    - Bonjour
    - Apple Mobile Device Support (uninstall failed due to Apple Mobile Device failure)***
    - Restarted System
    - Redownloaded Itunes from website.
    - Run installer as Administratot
    - Succefully installed
***To uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support
    - Right clicked on Apple Mobile Device Support, Clicked Charge (second option), Repair, Next (failed to repari)
    - Right clicked the Apple Mobile Device Support in the Programs and Features window and clicked Repair (third option in drop down list). (repaired successfully)
    - Uninstall successful after the repair.
Below is a guess at a quicker solution:
Looking at the uninstalls, it may be worth trying to repair the Apple Mobile Device Support through the Program and Features window before trying to uninstall everything.  It may be a faster fix for the freezing service.  After the repair is successful the itunes update may work.
    Hope this helps.

  • My itunes wont work in WIndows 7.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but it doesnt' work.  It consistently won't open, freezes, or opens and will play songs but only comes up as the shape of itunes in a kinda see thru box. Any tips?

My itunes won't work on my Windows 7 anymore.  I have already uninstalled and reinstalled SEVERAL times, but to no avail.  It consistantly freezes, won't open or doesn't work correctly.  The only way I can get it to close anymore is to go to the task manager and 'end process' itunes.  I do get an error at the beginning saying " the registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVD's are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software.  Please re-install itunes."  I have searched the internet for possible fixes to no avail.  Please help...anyone!

Lets see whether this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
    Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
