Uninstall CS5 Master Collection From Dead HDD

Hello all, I have a installation of CS5 on an old hard drive that just failed.  I want to remove all remnants of it off my computer as I have updates and notification, etc pop up and was wondering how to do that as it errors out everytime I try to do a normal unistall.  I also want to reinstall it on my newer, larger hard drive....

Use the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and call support to reset your activation count. Then install everything cleanly from scratch. No need to uninstall anything. After running the tool, it wil lbe as there never was anything on the system...

  • Error message occurs during CS5 Master Collection Trial Install.

I downloaded the trial version of CS5 Master Collection from the Adobe site. Everything works until after I enter my password to start installation an error message comes up saying:
The Setup encountered and error(-1) during install. Please restart the machine and try again.
I've done that and it still shows the same message! What do I do?

Since CS5 is from 4+ years before the Cloud, this is not the right forum... but I don't really know a correct forum for that very old product
Have you tried to manually update the individual programs?
All updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative for the individual product http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

  • Trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit - setup.exe fails due to msxml3.dll error PDApp message [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154

If anyone is able to solve this they are a genius (or I am doing something very stupid!)
I am trying to reinstall CS5.5 Master Collection from DVD media on Windows 7 64 bit PC but setup.exe fails due to a msxml3.dll error.
Following a big bundle of recent Windows 7 updates, I started getting 'bad image' msxml3.dll error messages when opening any CS5.5 master collection program (Eg Premiere / Photoshop / Illustrator / Dreamweaver). Following advice on some threads here I tried uninstalling and then using the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool to clean up install, then reinstalling from my original DVD media.
Whenever I try using run setup.exe from installtion disc 1 the installing fails due to 'Missing files'. I have also tried dowloading trial versions and runing setup.exe fro mthe downloaded files but i still get the same message.
I have searched the forum and others have experienced this error but none of the solutions I have found seem to be working for me - as many seem to relate to download installations whereas I am installing from original DVD media (which worked fine before on the same PC)
These are the FATAL messages from the PDApp log
    12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] PIM - Failed to Create XML instance : DOMDocument40 ADXML::initWithXMLPath Error:80040154
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Could not initialize ADXML object
12/11/2014 15:29:27 [FATAL] Setup - Unable to initialize. Error parsing setup.xml file
The PDApp troubleshooting seems to indicate that this is caused by error in downloads but I am getting it with both original media DVD and downloads.
I have also tried using my logon (which has admin privileges) and under our main admin account - and I get the same errors.
Is a clean install of Windows 7 + CS5.5 my only option?
Any help / info / advice / solutions very much appreciated! I have spent the last 2 days trying to sort this out and seem to be getting nowhere.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply kglad - much appreciated.
I have already tried that option (along with downloading files) as it was one of the solutions mentioned on other threads, but that also failed.
    Any other ideas?

  • Cs5 master collection deactivate+uninstall, reinstall errors on update

    I have cs5 master collection.
I had to reinstall windows form scratch.. windows is on c:. I had to reformat that drive. adobe cs5 stores some of its files on C: and some of its files in the appointed install directory, on a data drive which was f:
    i deactivated+uninstalled adobe cs5.
formatted c: and installed windows. of course, some adobe files are still left over on f:
reinstalled adobe cs5 to same location on f:
started dreamweaver, help, update (to update cs5)
I get update errors on half or more of the products. another update gives th esame problem, it's stuck.
how do I fix? this isn't the first time I have had trouble with AAM.
also, adobe community help refuses to pin to the taskbar or start menu. I don't know why, it's an exe. also, cs5 doesn't make an icon for it. I tried creating a shortcut for the exe and dragging it to the taskbar, but this doesn't work either. I got it on there once, but I have no idea how.
    9/26/2014:
I uninstalled and deactivated cs5 and acrobat 9, did all necessary reboots, and uninstalled all adobe products.
missed a step, so wrote this windows .cmd batch file to remove adobe leftovers after uninstall and deactivate.

I need to try this, going to take another hour or two. I hope this causes enough of an uninstall that adobe will update. I missed a step last time.

I noticed the backup section is missing the file. I could really use that. I noticed an uninstall+deactivate leaves the plugins behind, and that the dirs can be copied to a safe place if you know where they are. thanks for the tip.

ah - I got it, you just say y, that's just the product code.
after a run the new revision of my removal tool, it didn't see cs5.
does the CC removal tool require any uninstallation? I would like to know, if it doesn't, that would make the uninstallation process a whole lot simpler. it should also remove adobe reader, adobe air, adobe community help if it doesn't already, adobe media player - I would assume it does this (but those aren't in the list).
I would like to see an antry where it removes everything but the adobe ID (is that a bad thing? what exactly does that do? does it remove my adobe account?) .
until then, this latest revision of my tool may or may not be of use.

i just wanted to know if i can download the Mac version and use that cereal number to activate it?
    No.
Serial numbers are Mac only or Windows only. There is a platform swap process (from Mac to PC etc) but only for CS6.
As a CS5 owner, your choices are to either pay to upgrade to CS6 for Mac or join the Cloud.

  • Switching from Windows to Mac CS5 Master Collection

I have purchased CS5 Mastercollection for windows. However I have switched my machine from a windows to Mac. I need to re install the Program over to the mac system. I am unable to download the CS5 master collection as it is no longer available on adobe website. How do I go about it?
    Thank you for your help.

    Welcome to the forum.
Normally, when one changed platforms with Ps, Adobe called that a "cross-grade," and the price to do so was about equal to the "upgrade price." As Ps CS 6 is sort of in limbo, since the release of the CC (Creative Cloud) subscription license model, I am not sure what Adobe is doing about upgrades, or cross-grades, and from CS 5.
With the CC model, there is no platform differentiation, regarding the license - one can use Ps CC on either a Mac, or PC (or one-each). Not so with the perpetual license of Ps CS 6.
I would contact Adobe Customer Support and inquire what your upgrade/cross-grade path might be. It could well be that the best "deal" would be the CC license.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • What is the cost to upgrade from CS5 Master Collection to CS6 Master Collection? [was: Upgrading]

Why is it so freaking difficult to find upgrade pricing for Master Collection from CS 5 to CS 6?  For Adobe to be so great the website is horrible.  User are stuck in a never-ending series new tabs. In one instance Adobe says to purchase an upgrade go to www.adobe.com, click on BUY... Have they not realized that they've changed the web site? And everything redirects to Creative Cloud?  Horrible service.

Agreed, it's a hard site to navigate, especially if you want non-Cloud products.
    Creative Suite 6
That said, I would rather pay for the Cloud than the CS5 -> CS6 upgrade price.

  • Both CS4 and CS5 Master Collections installed. Uninstall CS4?

I have both Adobe CS4 Master Collection and CS5 Master Collection installed on my mac OS X 10.6.6.
What is the proper uninstall procedure for my entire CS4 collection and do I have to take precautions so it does not interfere with my CS5 installation?

It's a company laptop and that is not an option. On my own computer, that would be my first choice.
My space is tight partly b/c of multiple virtual machines I have.  I need to free up some space, simply put.
    No other suggestion?

In order to upgrade crossplatform, you'll need to call Adobe directly.

  • Installing CS5 Master Collection

First of all I would like to thank Mr. Bill Hunt and others for helping me.
I am going to receive my CS5 Master Collection by tomorrow. I am currently running the Trial Version.
Is it better to uninstall all the Trial version, and my older Adobe products, and Start with a Fresh Installation of CS5 Master Collection.
< OR > apply the  S/N Number from the Master Collection into the Trial version.
    Thanks.

You should be able to simply activate with the serial number. Once you launch, you'll be told that we need to download the protected content and that you'll need to restart. After that, you should be good to go.
If for any reason you have to reinstall after that, remember to deactivate first.

  • Cs5 master collection

We are using Cs5 master collection in a classroom environment but today all elements of the collection will no longer run they stop with error 131:4.
Even a new setup now gives the same error.
Does anyone know of any registry tweaks to resolve this?

    glaustin,
Like yourself I just finished installing CS5 on both my home pc and company issued Dell D620 laptop.  As luck would have it, my actual design pc is my home pc which is a home built mildly overclocked i7-920 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with a Adobe supported NVidia GTS250 video card and a cost effective 500GB 32Mb cache sata drive.  I was so impressed being able to use all the CS5 enhancements (puppet warp, content aware fill, 3D and repousse effects, etc)   I uninstalled CS3 on my laptop and used the remaining CS5 activation on my company issued Dell Latitude D620 (Windows XP SP3 32-bit) with 3GB DDR2 onboard.  As you are probably are aware, I was very disappointed with the performance of CS5 on the laptop.  CS5 requires the video processor to be OpenGL2.0 and Shader 3.0 be compliant which the D620 was NOT.  I cannot use many of the CS5 enhancements (3D,repousse, any of the OpenGL calls)  and a whole list of other CS5 ehancements on my 2-yr old Dell D620.  There are not too many laptops out there which have Adobe video compliant GPUs out there which are cost effective other than maybe the Apple Mac laptops which are very, very  cost prohibitive.
I am due for a company laptop hardware refresh in a year so I have elected to hobble along with the old Dell Latitude D620 until such time.  In the interim I did clone the D620 hard drive from the 5400rpm  40GB to a 500GB Hitachi TravelStar 7200rpm 16Mb cache.  Nothing much more I can do on the laptop since Dell provides only image CD's and I don't want to risk going from bad to worse since all the Dell laptop drivers are not available separately.  Long story short, wait until you get your new ATI video card prior to upgrading.  Prior to upgrading your video card, uninstall your old video drivers before powering down.  Then physically install your new ATI card then install your new ATI video drivers.

Please help me to check this issue

if you no longer want your master collection on one computer, open an adobe program>click help>click deactivate and then uninstall.  (but you're allowed to install and activate on up to two computers so you need not deactivate and uninstall.)
to install on another computer you need your serial number and the installation files.

  • How do I get a copy of Acrobat with my CS5 Master Collection???

I activated my Adobe CS5 Master Collection (running on Snow Leopard) with a serial number purchased from CDW and everything went smoothly, but after a few days of using the core products I typically use I noticed Acrobat was not included in the installed software.
Now, Adobe lists Acrobat PRO as an included product in the Master Collection and rightfully so since it contans just about every product they make.
When I emailed Adobe about this but the only response I got was some  pre-formatted auto-response probably sent to me from the help desk in  India or something. The auto-response said absolutely nothing about how to obtain a copy for the Mac, and just had a link taking me to the Acrobat home page, which basically says there is no trial version of Acrobat for Mac available for download.
I gave up on it since I do not use Acrobat very much but now I am in a situation where I do need to have Acrobat Pro to finish a job and I cannot figure out how to get a copy installed with the Master Collection.
There was no disclaimer indicating that you would not be able to get a copy of Acrobat when I purchased the downloadable version vs. buying a boxed DVD set, so I am expecting there must be a way.
Adobe's help has been pretty much useless when I emailed them, and I cannot find anyone with the same problem on Google or in the Adobe forums, so is there someone out there who can give me the answer or help me?
If I have to purchase a seperate copy of Acrobat so be it, but since it is supposed to be included with the Master Suite that would be kind of stupid if I have to purchase a copy of Acrobat seperately.
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction!!!

This is just getting beyond ridiculous...
AND I can see from several forum threads I am not alone in this issue.
Adobe, you absolutely SUCK for making it so difficult to install this software. I am normally a fan of Adobe products, but now that you guys have bought out all your competiton you are getting lazy and stupid.
This is the most ridiculous crap I've ever seen when trying to install a product I PURCHASED!!!!!!!
So, after over another week (I have been trying to find a way to install Acrobat with my purchased copy of the Master Suite for MONTHS)...  My IT guy finally gets me the installer DMG for Acrobat and now I cannot install it with my master collection because the serial numbers are not the same?
I never got a god damn serial number for Acrobat Pro when purchasing the master collection.
Asking Adobe for help is totally worthless and not even worth taking the time to do so because all they give you is some BS pre-recorded response that doesn't help you with JACK...
It has been a long time since I've had a problem installing a piece of software I PURCHASED.
    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU SERIOUSLY SUCK ADOBE ON THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
