Unity Connection transfer to external number plays music on hold continuously.

We found an issue when transfer external calls out of Unity Connection (9.0 and 9.1) that the Music on Hold continuously plays and never connects the call.
The outgoing calls are going out SIP. The call does get placed and does connect to the external number but it is promptly dropped as the transfer does not complete. The calling party only hears hold music.
Through testing we found that this only happens when the call goes out SIP. We also found that the issue is resolved when changing the Transfer Rules from Release to Switch to Supervise Transfer.
Would we need to change each User's Transfer Rules to Supervise Transfer or is there another way to release the transfer? Is this a bug?

Your issue seems to be as below.
Problem 2. Call is Connected and then Disconnected
The call is connected and then it is disconnected. The call transfer is successful when an internal extension initiates the call whereas the call fails, if the calling side is from PSTN.
Call Flow
PSTN>H323 GW>CUCM>Unity Connection Call Handler (Any Caller Input - Transfer to Alternate Contact Number)>External Number or CTI RP with CFA to External Number.
Core Issue/Call Flow Analysis
Here is an analysis of the call flow and the common problem for a failed call transfer:
The First call leg is a H323 Fast Start, from the Gateway to the CUCM. CUC receives the call and transfers the call back to CUCM. CUCM in turn places the first call on hold and initiates a new call to the PSTN.
The second call leg is a H323 Slow start. Finally, when the call is answered, the CUCM or the Gateway does not send H245 capabilities. This causes a timeout and the call is disconnected.
Solution
By default, Wait for Far End H.245 Terminal Capability Set (TCS) check box is checked. As a result, CUCM expects the far-end H.245 TCS before it sends its H.245 TCS. If this checkbox is unchecked, CUCM must initiate capabilities exchange.
In order to resolve this problem:
Uncheck the Wait for Far End H.245 Terminal Capability Set (TCS) check box.
Or
Make a change on the gateway so that the gateway initiates capabilities exchange.
Enter these commands in order to configure a change required on the gateway.
conf t
voice service voip
h323
h225 start-h245 on-connect
exit

Unity Connection Transfer calls across ICT

I am working on a system where they have a unity connection 8.6(2) server that has a system call handler configured for external voice mail access. They would like to be able to have the users call in and enter the extensions of users on a remore CUCM cluster and be routed across the Inter Cluster trunk to the remote cluster. I have the system setup to allow the caller to enter the extension of users not associated with a mailbox and I have configured the transfer rules to allow the pattern defined for the extensions. However it still fails.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ensure the CSS assigned of the SIP trunk (if using UCXN SIP integration) or voicemail ports (if using SCCP) has access to a partition that the route pattern pointing to remote cluster is assigned to.

Connect iPod to TV and play music

Hi all,
I bought the new iPod classic 120Gb about two weeks ago and got started with iTunes to create a library (using a Windows PC). I am very satisfied with how things are going until now.
Now I want to connect the iPod to my Samsung LCD and home cinema set using the component cable to watch video's and photo's. My question is as follows:
When playing music, is it possible to see the iPod menu on the TV screen? When I am sitting on the couch I will not be able to read the iPod screen, so I want to browse the menu's on the TV-screen (using the remote).
Is this possibe or will I only be able to use the TV-screen for watching video content and photo's?

I already thought so... May be an improvement for the future?
Anyway, I can create a good playlist and let the iPod do the rest

AppleTV tries to connect to internet radio while playing music from my Ipad via AirPlay

As the title says..
When I play music from my Ipad mini via AirPlay, the sound drops every ten to fifteen seconds.
On the TV-screen it shows the info about the band, song etc, but when it drops I get a box with "internet radio" written inside, before the sound comes back, and everything is normal again. Very annoying to have the sound cutting like that multiple times during a song..
AppleTV (gen 3) is wireless connected to a Airport Extreme, and with HDMI-cable to a surround reciever.
The Ipad and AppleTV have the lates updates (IOS 8.0).
Tries with a 4S with the IOS 7.1.2 version, but it's the same story with that..

Thats about it. I plug my touch into my PC and it doesn't connect, yet my speakers still play music from it. I've tried another cable from my old iPod and I tried restarting the touch. What is wrong?

Unity Connection 9.1 - System Call Handler Question

I would like to use Unity Conncetion 9.1 to transfer calls to different extensions depending on the time of day:
For example; between 07.00 and 19.00, do not play a greeting and transfer to an extension (no mailbox), outside of the times above, again do not play a greeting and transfer to a different extension.
I have configured a CTI RP and set the extension to forward all to VM. The system call handler has an active schedule of 07.00-19.00 and has a standard transfer rule set up to transfer the calls to the relevant extension. I have also configured a closed transfer rule to transfer the call to the alternative extension after 19.00. The issue I have is that when dial the original extension I get the standard greeting. How do i get Unity to transfer the call without playing the greeting?

Hi Phil,
You need to:
1) enable the closed greeting
2) set the standard and closed greetings to "callers hear nothing"
3) in the standard and closed greetings, after the greeting, set it to call handler, select the same call handler, and set it to attempt transfer.
4) make sure the standard and closed transfer rules are enabled, set the respective extensions to transfer to, set them to release to switch, and uncheck "Play the 'Wait While I Transfer Your Call' Prompt" for both of them.

I created a new itunes, but when i add the music i added it from my external hard drive by accident, so when i disconnect it and wish to play music without having it connected, obviously it asks me to located my songs, i dont want to locate each song help

Unity Connection 8.6 call transfer to non-unity extension

I have converted from Unity to Unity Connection and am looking for a solution for transferring an incoming call to a non-unity user extension.
Here is the scenario: An PSTN caller calls in and is directed to a Unity Connection Call Handler or a Subscriber greeting. In the greeting they are advised that if they know the extension they want to call, they can dial it at any time. Here is the rub, if they dial an extension for a user listed in Unity Connection, the call gets transferred to the extension. However, if the extension dialed is to an extension that is not a Unity Connection User, the attendant comes back and say the extension is not understood.
In Unity before conversion, I would make an internet user that did not have a mailbox but was listed with an extension. However, with Unity Connection, I am using LDAP integration with Microsoft AD and I don't see a method of doing the same thing.
Is anyone else doing something like this or know of a method to do it?

Allow Transfers to Numbers Not Associated with Users or Call Handlers
also make sure the number entered by the call is allowed in Default System Transfer restriction table.

Is it possible to play music from my external hard drive on my ultrabook? I don't want to take up space in the internal drive.

I recently bought an ultrabook (windows) and transferred all of my music (from itunes) onto an external hard-drive. I don't want to transfer all the music onto my new laptop because that would take up too much space. So is it possible for me to add new music or log on to home share by using my external drive plugged into my new ultrabook? How do I play music through my computer using music held on the itunes in my external drive?
I've been trying to figure this out for a long time now.

Can I connect a portable hard drive to an ipad 4 to play music?

I am buying an ipad 4 for my wife as a present. At the moment we both use PCs as well as iphones to play music which we store on a portable hard drive which can then be moved between our PCs (we have different music tastes so have different itunes libraries!). Is there a way of directly connecting up the hard drive to an ipad 4? It's a portable seagate with a usb cable - the connection at the hard drive end is something I don't recognise! It draws power from the PC.

Not unless you purchase a special Wi-Fi external drive that will work with an iPad. Seagate and Western Digital make such products.

With YP2 I cannot listen to music when connected to an external monitor

I am using the hdmi connection for my external monitor and when connected I cannot get any sound from my YP2. It works just fine when connected to a TV so I am assuming the sound signal has to be amplfied by the tv or receiver. A monitor typically does not have any sound amplification, I think, so my guess is this is the problem. I was hoping I could at least listen to music when earphones are plugged in, but I can't.
Another minor problem I have using the YP2 connected to my monitor is I cannot get the full resolution of the monitor, I will update this thread with the actual montior (it is an Asus 27" professional grade monitor with something like 2500x1600 resolution, I cannot remember the actual numbers) model number. The best I can get with the YP2 is around 2000x1200.

I spent quite a bit of time with Lenovo support. They got on my computer remotely, replaced the display driver, and still the same problem. It appears the problem is the resolution can only be adjusted by increments. The highest was 3200x1800 and the next lowest was 2000x1500 and then 2000x1000 (I am rounding the last two). So the computer resolution defaults to the 2000x1000 resolution when hooked up to the external monitor.
For all practical purposes this is fine. I rarely have to do any photo editing that is that critical and if I need the higher resolution I can edit with my desktop.

I cannot play music when connect to stereo via 30-pin connector. Help?

Since I first upgraded my iPod Touch 2nd Gen to iOS 4.x, I cannot play music when connect to external speakers via the 30-pin connector. I've tried several different speaker systems, but none work. My iPod freezes after making my song selection and doesn't do anything until after rebooting. Even then, it just goes through the same cycle if I select another song. My iPod is 100% functional until I try to plug it in to an external speaker system.
Keep in mind that it worked up until iOS 3.1.3.

Sounds like iOS 4 broke the compatibility with your accessory, something that sometimes happens with major OS changes. Your only hope is to see if the accessory manufacturer has an update to make it compatible with iOS 4, or downgrade your Touch back to 3.1.3.

Playing music from external hard drive, iTunes

Hello all,
After years of wanting to own a MacBook Pro, I finally have one. This is the first Mac computer that I have owned so I am still new to everything. One issue that I am having is an issue that I have had over the years on Windows, that always took me hours to get straight. I am going to explain how my iTunes has been setup on all of my previous computers so that hopefully you guys can make sense of what I am trying to accomplish as I could not find a solution on here.
The way iTunes is set up on my Windows PC's was that all of my music was on my external hard drive. Whenever I would want to use my music through iTunes, I would have to plug in my external hard drive and once it boots I can now play music. Without the hard drive plugged in I can only see all the information about my music on iTunes but I cannot play it since the hard drive is disconnected. I am trying to do this same setup with my macbook but I am having difficulty accomplishing that. I honestly do not remember how I did it on my Windows PC other than it took forever. I kept getting duplicates but after trying multiple times, I got it to where there were no duplicates and everything was fine.
What steps do I go about in order to be able to see all my music information on iTunes but having the actual music file on my external? I like it this way as it saves my internal hard drive storage and I don't mind having to plug in my external when needed. I have only attempted once so far to do this procedure on my new MacBook, I failed. It transferred all of the music and worked just how I wanted it to work. However, it created a duplicate of every song, which there is thousands of, so I deleted everything and now iTunes doesn't have anything. Any help is appreciated, sorry for the long post.

So after messing around for awhile I finally figured it out and got everything working how I want it and had it on my Windows machine. It took me forever to find the iTunes library file as it was not in its default location on my Windows machine. I finally figured out what needs to be done and it is really easy like you explained. I discovered that my issue is: 1. The default location of these common iTunes files is not in its default location likely due to me moving it the last time I did this from my prior Windows machine and 2. My external hard drive needs to be cleaned up, at least my music section.
What I am going to do in the future is purchase a new external hard drive specifically for my Mac backups and music. I will have to take a day and transfer my huge library to the new drive so that I ensure everything is organized and kept clean and not make this process more difficult than it should in the future. I am however missing some of my tracks (noted with the !) I do believe that this is due to me accidentally changing the file paths on my external at some point in the past and left certain files on my Windows internal drive. This issue is solved though, hopefully. I appreciate your help.
BTW: I am loving my 15" rMBP, I wish the price didn't hold me back as long as it did.
