Universe Creation On OLAP Cube(SSAS) throwing error. in BO X1 3.1

Hi Experts,
I have created OLAP universe based on SSAS Cube using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services Driver.
i have created webi report based on this SSAS Cube,everything is fine
but when i create condition in universe level,if i use the same universe in webi report its throwing error:An internal error occured while calling the 'processDPCommands' API.

This should be set up in steps, Have you configured java AD kerberos so you can login via your web/app with AD? This is a prerequisite before setting up any type of delegation to the DB.
You can also set up SSO in the front end but this shouldn't be necessarry for delegating to the DB.
What SPN's do you need...
Well if using java AD you should have an SPN for the account running the SIA (typically BOBJCentralMS/something) This SPN needs to be set in the CMC, You will need the krb5 and bsclogin files to login to your web/app with kerberos/AD. The krb5.ini will have to have a setting forwardable = true, and finally the MSAS server will need SPN's http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917409
This a a very complex configuration and you will likely need to open an incident with support to get an engineer to help. I'm not sure where our current docs for the configuration are.

Universe creation against SAP Cubes/Queries with same connection

Hello,
I am creating universe against the connection for SAP BW system, once I have created a connection and selected a cube or query and built a universe on top of it....If I go back and create a new universe and this time change the connection to point towards a new cube/query the old universe stops working.
Is it a limitation for SAP database where we need to have a new connection setup for each universe...or is there a different way to use same connection pointing towards different cubes/queries for different universes.
Please let me know.

when you build a universe based on the connection and want to use the universe with reports you can not change the underlying connection because then your universe will not work anymore.
You can have multiple universe on a single connection.

is SAP recamonded build universe based on OLAP cubes or queries (bex analyzer queries)
if i connect cubes, can i get all functions in BO ( like functions in bex analyzer, variables...)

Universe created on BI cube throws error.

Hi Experts,
This is the first time i have created one universe based on a Cube in BI system. After universe creation, I am logined into WebIntelligence Rich Client and create a query on top of the created universe which throws errors like below.
A database error occured. The database error text is: The supplied XML is not valid. <CONSTANT>. (WIS 10901)
I tried with many combinations, but, in result sometimes with blank report and sometimes throwing above error.
Cany anyone suggest me what is the solution for this ?

Hi Suresh,
The reason here is some thing has bean changed at SAP BI Cube after creation of Universe in Business Objects.
Solution for this is " Refresh the universe structure " and then save it and export and try create reports. If it is not the reason give some more clarity on your error.

Error when querying SSAS 2000 OLAP cube with WebI (BOXIR2)

Hi,
I'd like to access a OLAP cube on Microsoft Analysis Server 2000 through Web Intelligence. The BO server is running BO XIR2 FP 5.7 on Windows Server 2003.
I've installed the pivot table services on the BO server and am able to connect to the SSAS. I then created a connection, and on top of that connection an universe. The universe categories and objects where retrieved from the cube.
When I now try to query the new universe, I get the following error message:
BusinessObjects115.OLAPI.Cube.1] : Failed to set properties (Database 'ITZD_2010' does not exist.).
ITZD_2010 is the name of the "folder" from which I selected the cube when creating the connection. The cube itself is called NFOTD and this name is also displayed as (not editable) database name in the connection details.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

No Authorization to OLAP Cubes during the creation of universe connection

Hello friends we are not able to see the OLAP Cubes during the creation of universe connection using the Quality system and Application server "sapbmw01" client 100, system # 00. But we are able to set up the connection in our development system.
I will highly appreciate if you can let me know if we need some special role to access the OLAP Cubes during the creation of universe connection using the Q system.
Surprisingly we are using SAP_BW_ALL in Quality system still we are not able to access the infocubes. is there some thing missing in CMS IN BO to make that work.

OLAP cube not visible in the list during universe creation

I am trying to create universe on a BI query which is build on a multiprovider. During universe creation step 4 i need to choose the OLAP cubes, but unfortunately i didn't see the multiproivder in the list. If i see that multiprovider i can expand the tree and can find my query in it. But i don't know why the multiprovider is not in the OLAP cubes?
by the way mutliprovider is Z multiprovider which i created, not a standard one.
Do i need to change any settings for the multiprovider just like what we do for query (Allow external access)

Yeah I did that, but during the universe creation first we need to choose the multiprovider and when we expand the multiprovider we can see all the queries in it. Here in my case i am not able to see the multiprovider in order to select query in the next step.

I have dropped and recreated a fact table to refresh the data as the table is having identity columns. So not able to directly insert data. After that cube is throwing above error.

It hard to analyse the issue base on the limited information, Are there any error message on the log? Under C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS11.\OLAP\Log (this could be different for your server), there are 3 log files that are generated:
msmdrrv.log
FlightRecorderCurrent.trc
FightRecorderBack.trc
The msmdrrv.log simply points to the other two logs. There might be some detail information for this error. Please provide us the detail information about it, so that we can make further analysis.

Error during viewing the OLAP cubes

Hi ALl,
Thanks for you time.
I recently installed a new development environment of BOXI-R2 sp4 and then imported all the contents from another existing BOXI-R1 environment.
I can now see all my existing UNIVERSES properly.
However each time I try to view the OLAP cubes on the dashboard, the below error is thrown.
Was wondering if anyone out there faced the same problem?
Any help is deeply appreciated.

How to Create a OLAP Cube in DEV using SSAS from Raw file system backup from Production? I dont have a .abf file available. Two paritions in production are missing data. We were able to get back file system backup which contains the files for these two paritions.
How do I create a cube in Dev using this file system backup.

Universe Designer vs BEx query - Can't see the query in the OLAP Cubes list

Hello Experts,
We are facing a rather strange issue:
While creating a connection to an existing BEx query - which wasn't being used by BO before - we aren't able to see that one query in a long list of available multiproviders/queries on the universe side.
We already checked the option on BEx analyser to authorize external access to the query, with ODBO.
The connection type we're using is the same for all the other universes built on top of BEx queries: SAP BW Client. Again, we already have a bunch of universes built using this method, but we can't seem to find the BEx query in the OLAP Cubes list.
Does anyone have a lead on what may be causing this issue?
Our environment is:
- SAP BOE XI R3.1 SP2
- SAP BW 3.5
- BEx Analyser
- Integration Kit

Hi,
i don't know, you'd have to search the BW-BEX component for notes.
I noticed it with a revision of SAP GUI Front End tools 720 SP7 i think
I applied the latest corrections (SP08 or 09) and that tickbox worked ok again.
You might notice - as i did - that when you go back to check the bex query - that property becomes 'magically' unselected/

Project Server 2013 OLAP cube build error

When I try to build the OLAP cube I receive the below error:
[2/26/2014 12:36 PM] Failed to build the OLAP cubes. Error: The attempt to build the OLAP database on server SQL_Server_Name failed, the SQL Server Analysis Services Analysis Management Objects (AMO) client software may not be installed on this server, please
install/update the client on this server and retry. The underlying exception was: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.AnalysisServices, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot
find the file specified.
I did some search and found that Analysis Management Objects (AMO) client software is not installed on my servers, I downloaded and installed the AMO client software , restarted the Project Server Service application to the 4 Servers. I rebooted the
4 servers, tried to build the cube, but I got the same error. I checked the assembly on the 4 servers and they contain the dll Microsoft.AnalysisServices.
Any help?
I read that AMO client software tools must be installed during the farm setup, after installing the SharePoint Prerequisites and before installing SharePoint. Is that correct?

Can a OLAP Cube be Processed in to RAM , Can this be done using Traditional BI ? , If we can place the entire SSAS Cube in RAM for better performance , how can it be done?

I'm trying to increase the performance of my OLAP Cube and i thought placing the CUbe entirely in RAM can solve this problem. can anyone please answer me , if this can be done using Traditional BI i.e SSAS and how?

I do not believe you can load the entire cube into RAM and even if you were able to do so, I don't think you'll be able to solve you performance issues.

EVDESCRIPTION Issue from BPC OLAP Cubes universe

Hi,
I created a universe from a BPC OLAP Cube.
it has several dimensions, dimension Profitcenter has 10 levels like level 1,level2,etc..
each level has its detail objects, one of the details object in each level is EVDESCRIPTION. Now i created a webi report, with object profitcenter_lev7 and its deatil object EVDESCRIPTION (LEV7), and the report now showing any data for teh deatil object . i run for sevaral objects and its deatil object EVDESCRIPTION, still i dont see any data for it. but i cross checked with database and my BPC cubes, data is exisitng in there. then i realised, it is the issue with the deatils object with in the universe.
and i changed the select statement code for the detail object EVDESCRIPTION.
the exisitng code for the EVDESCRIPTION (LEV7) is :
[ProfitCenter].[H1].[LEV7].[EVDESCRIPTION].[Value] then i changed to
<EXPRESSION>[ProfitCenter].CurrentMember.Properties("EVDESCRIPTION")</EXPRESSION> .
then i created a webi report for only Proficenter_lev7 and EVDESCRIPTION (LEV7) , then the report showed the code and its description perfect.
i chaned the same code for all the levels with same code, adn created a report with only level object and its evdescription, it is showing the perfect data. now the issue is when i run a report with 2 codes and its description, like
Profiftcenter 7,EVDESCRIPTION (LEV7),profitcenter 6,EVDESCRIPTION (LEV6) , then
i expect 4 colums in the report with code 7 and its description and 6 and its description.
but here the code 6's description i.e. EVDESCRIPTION (LEV6) is overwritting with lev 7's descrition.
I expect data below shows
code 7      desc 7                                         code 6                    desc 6
USA      United states of america                 NY                  New York
USA      United states of america                 CA                  California
But i am getting :
code 7      desc 7                                         code 6                    desc 6
USA      New York                                        NY                  New York

the EVDESCRIPTION (LEV6) valeus are overlapped to EVDESCRIPTION (LEV7).
i changed the EVDESCRIPTION object code in different ways like
<EXPRESSION>[ProfitCenter].CurrentMember.Properties("EVDESCRIPTION_LEV7")</EXPRESSION>
or
<EXPRESSION>[ProfitCenter].CurrentMember.Properties("EVDESCRIPTION7")</EXPRESSION>
and many more ways, then the 1st problem comes which is no data retriving. the only way data is showing for the code is
<EXPRESSION>[ProfitCenter].CurrentMember.Properties("EVDESCRIPTION")</EXPRESSION> but like i said when i run for 2 codes and descriptions, the lower level description data is overlapping to its highest level.

We have got passed this issue by creating it as a measure and using it in the query for the dimension.
We created the measure with the expression "[dim].currentmember.properties("EVDESCRIPTION")".
Works perfectly.
