Unknown error -50 syncing iPad2

I use iMac to sync iPad2 with iTunes 10.4.1
I get the error "Unknow Error (-50)" and it won't sync
I've called Apple, they keep asking for money to be able to help me. I can't find a fix online. I'm not sure what to do with this now useless iPad.

Hi,
I want to switch from Chrome to Firefox but I have an issue with the Sync feature.
It always shows the following error: "Sync encoutered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action."
I already tried this workaround but it did not work: delete my Sync account, completely reset my Firefox profile, import my Chrome bookmarks (using an HTML file), setup a new Sync account (using the same address email then the previously deleted one).
But I still get the error message.
I've seen in other threads that it could be an issue with the history so I also tried to delete it but it did not work either.

I've finally found a solution to that Sync issue:
I downloaded the "Places Maintenance" add-on and run the integrity check routine and it seems to have fixed the issue.

Note: I just tried deleting and re-creating my Sync account, reinstalling firefox, and deleting places.sqlite, with no success. And "Eooro" from the title is supposed to be "Error".

Mac OS 10.5.6 Tung C - Unknown error during sync - application closes

Since my recent 10.5.6 update I am unable to complete my sync.
Everything initiates fine. Several items seem to initiate but when it starts my epocrates sync the software closes with an unknown error. I have reinstalled mac 421RevD twice with no change.
Please help.

How about try to disable the two Epocrates conduits from the Conduit Settings of the Hotsync Manager? This would really isolate whether its a Palm or Epocrates issue. You may try to consult with Epocrates support if ever it would sync sucessfull without the two conduits activated.

Unknown error while syncing -50

Just a quick question if no answer thats fine but I just got a new iPod Classic 120GB and just went to sync it for the first time with my library and got an error saying iPod cannot sync because an unknown error occurred (-50). I had this problem with the previous iPod i just replaced which was a 5g 30GB iPod. It's no big deal because all my music, photos, and videos still sync. I was just wondering if anybody knew what it could possibly be from and because it is happening with both iPods. Thanks in Advance.

Are you syncing the iPod Classic on you're Mac or PC?
If you're syncing it on your Mac; are you syncing photos to the iPod Classic?
There may be a problem with the iPhoto library or the iPod photo cache. Try deleting the iPod photo cache and then rebuild the iPhoto library if the issue persists.

Firefox sync: unknown error while syncing

Has anyone gotten firefox sync to work with firefox from [extra]? I can connect but I always get an unknown error when trying to actually sync. When running in a terminal no output is given.
Any advice?

Hm that's weird, everything work fine here both on Arch and XP.

Unknown error when syncing iPod

I've been trying to sync my iPod to iTunes but this error comes up.
+"Attempting to copy to the disk "LILY'S IPOD" failed. An unknown error occurred (-69)."+
I've tried restoring and it has restored the iPod just fine, but once I connect it to try and sync it again the above error comes up. I've restarted my computer, I've searched for iPod updates. I was using iTunes version 8.0.0.35 and installed 8.0.1.11 and I still get the error.

"Unknown Error" When Syncing Photos

Okay, so I have a 60 GB fifth generation iPod. I can get music, videos, everything but photos to sync just fine. Originally I tried to sync the photos from a 450 MHz. iMac G3 running 10.3.9 and iPhoto 4.0.2. I got a "-37" unknown error when trying to sync the photos (the music worked just fine, albeit slowly). Technically this setup is supported, although not recommended. So then I sent the photo library over to my October 2005 Powerbook G4, running 10.4.7 and iPhoto 5.0.4. The upgrading of the photo library went smoothly, but the iPod still would not sync the photos, this time giving a "-50" unknown error.
I have restarted the computers and iPod, used every possible USB port, etc. I restored the iPod on the iMac and that didn't work. I have not restored it from the Powerbook, as the music library on the iMac is large and it takes a long time to move it over USB 1.whatever it is. If anybody thinks this will solve it I will try though...
So, is the iPod the problem?

it could possibly be a photo that is causing it... corrupt or wrong format or something...
try only putting the photos on in several stages so that you can find out which one it is...

I get an unknown error on my iPad2 when trying to update apps.

I also get unable to connect when I try to re-sign into app store in the Settings. Device is running 5.1 and has been rebooted a few times to no avail.
It has been going on for a few days now. I can connect to the internet on the device as well as play games that need the internet. I can download updates in iTunes on my PC.
Any ideas? I'm a little at my wits end. I have rebooted, hard rebooted, and signed out of the App store on the iPad (but can't sign back in).

Already done. It didn't fix anything.
I logged out of my account on the iPad itself and when I try to relog back in it gives me the "Cannot connect."
I plugged it into the computer running iTunes and synced it. Checked for updates on the OS and it was current. I then checked for updated apps in iTunes on the PC, entered the same password I was entering on the iPad, and it accepted it and downloaded all updates.
After syncing I went to the settings on my iPad and I was currently logged into the app store in Settings (presumably due to syncing). I still get the Unknown error when trying to buy something in the app store.
So I go back to Settings, log out of my account, try to log back in and it says it can't connect again. I try putting in an incorrect password and it recognizes it as incorrect and gives me an "Incorrect password" error instead of the "Cannot connect."
Super aggravating.

"unknown error" when syncing apps

I can download from the App Store (most of the time, at least), but every time I download to iTunes and then try to sync to the iPhone, I get an error like this:
The application "XYZ" was not installed on the iPhone "(iPhone name)" because an unknown error occurred (-4).
Anyone seen this, or (better yet) know what to do about it?

I have this same problem with 6 of my apps now. A month or so ago (before the update?) a second sync would clear this up. Now i get it every time I try. Something is definitely broken here.
A workaround that may worked is to deselect the apps giving you the error (from the Applications tab in iTunes), sync, then re-check them and sync again. This has worked for me in the past.
I do hope Apple fixes this annoyance though.

After updating to 1.1 some of my videos no longer sync with my iPod.
I'm on Windows XP SP2.

I got my Ipod touch for christmas and it worked just fine when syncing and such, but just a few days ago when I connected it it refused to add my music and even deleted some songs from my device. This message appears:
"The iPod 'iPod Touch' cannot be synced. An unknown error occured. (13019)"
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes, recopying all my files, holding home and sleep on my iPod...the only thing else I can think to do would be click that tempting little "restore" button...
Can anyone help me?
