Unknown error when trying to sync from itunes to ipod

Does anyone know what the problem is? Everytime I try to sync music onto my 4GB ipod nano, a message pops up saying:
Attempting to copy to the disk [ipod name] failed. An unknown error occured (-54).
I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. I restored my ipod and reset my ipod, but I still don't know what is wrong.

Thanks for you suggestion roaminggnome. I tried typing in 13019 like you said and it gave me a few options to try and fix it but none of them worked (of course). I fiddled around with it for a while some more on my own and some how got it to work again, lol. Thanks again though for offering a solution.

Consistent 8007 error when trying to download from iTunes / App Store on my iMac.

Hi I get a consistent 8007 error when trying to download on my iMac. Yet can download and it works fine via Apple TV. I'm also having issues downloading on the App Store. I've checked the date and time, firewall and everything else seems to be fine. I can't uninstall iTunes as am running OSX 10.8.4 and am not tech confident enough to run this via terminal. Help!

Error when transfering specific songs from iTunes to iPod

I am having this problem: When I am transferring new songs (manually)from my iTunes library to my iPod, I got a error message - my iTunes is in Spanish - which translated into English reads:
"Error when trying to copy in disk NAME OF IPOD. Unable to read nor write in the disk"
It happens with very specific songs, not all new songs but some of them. First I thought these songs were corrupted, however iTunes and WMA can plays them with no problem at all.
I have a 4G, 20Gb iPod, 1.79Gb free space, already installed latest iPod Updater 2005-10-12. Have no issues related to play songs on iPod.
Is there any other way to check if songs are not corrupted ?
Is this a problem related to my iPod ? Pls advise.

I'm still having the same problem. I tried everything, and unless there's a number to call Apple, I'm going to repurchase my music. I only buy it to play it on my iPod.

Getting an "unknown error' when trying to sign into iTunes Store

When I try to sign into the iTunes store, it is giving me an "Unknown Error" message, without an error code or anything. I have tried restarting the computer and that didn't help. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me... I only had to reset the iTunes cache
1) Open iTunes
2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button.

Error When Trying to Restore from iTunes Backup

I had to erase and re-install the operating system. I thought I had iTunes covered by burning an iTunes backup to a CD, but when trying to restore iTunes from the CD it will restore a few songs and then give an error message that it was unable to read or write to my hard drive. I looks as though it restored the music that I owned and put on the computer but not the tunes I had purchased from the iTunes store and not the playlists. I did not know enough to burn the /music file. Is there anything I can do to get the burned CD to restore?

Contacts are not part of the backup. They are seperate and either you need to sync them with an email program such as outlook or use icloud mail,contacts, and calendars on the phone. Unless you did that then the contacts are gone.

Keep getting an unknown error when trying to burn an itunes cd

I cannot burn a cd from my itunes. I have done all the steps correctly. I keep getting an unknown error seconds after i hit the burn disc button and my cd pops out of my disc drive. I can burn cds using real media player but I cannot burn my itunes music. What do I do?

trying to transfer over library from my old hp itunes to new powerbook. burned some of the songs onto cds as data instead of audio but once the playlist was burned it said unknown error -50. then when i put the cd in my mac the same thing came up and it wasnt recognized by itunes on the powerbook. I have around 400,000 photos of 15 years so given the high number, I organized all my photos into 6 catalogs to avoid potential problems. All the photos and the catalogs are in a 4TB Seagate external hard drive. I use Adobe Lightroom 5 and I use a PC with the latest Windows Office 2013.
I wanted to have a NEW Catalog of all my rated 1 Star+ photos of all the years in a single Catalog. So I created what I called Star+ Catalog and I was told the best option is to import a Catalog at a time and given that there is no means to filter importing only Stared photos, I would import all the photos and then delete all the UnStared photos. I did that for Catalog Year 2014 but at the end gave me the message: "lightroom could not import this catalog because of an unknown error". It actually had imported around 40k photos from about 50k total. I tried again and again and every time I end up with the same thing. I created another new Catalog and stared from scratch and the same ting happened: the ONLY EXACT 40k or so photos were imported and the rest were not!! When I imported Catalog Year 2013 of around 45k photos, it worked perfectly. But when I imported Catalog Year 2012 of 35k photos, the same thing happened!!
I then tried exporting the needed photos to a new Catalog and that worked. But then when I try to import them again from my Master *+ Catalog I get the same error again!!
I also tried creating a new Master *+ Catalog and tried to import the Catalogs of each year into it and the same error happened again!!!
Any advice: 1) on how to solve this? and 2) if there is a better and easier way to create this Master Catalog of All Stared Photos of All my Catalogs?

OK, my starting point is that LR can happily contain 400000+ photos, and it's a mistake to create a 1 star plus catalogue as you suggest. Instead, I'd recommend you create a master catalogue of all your photos, which you can then query however you want - 2 star, or a certain keyword, or with "xyz" in the title etc.
If you are intent on going that way, you could try a slight change from what you've done so far. Instead of trying to import an entire catalogue and then delete no-star pictures, take the 2014 and 2012 catalogues and select only the 1 star photos. Then do an Export as Catalog for these items, and import the 2014-1star and 2012-1star into your new catalogue. That may get you past the problem images which I suspect are the problem.
If that doesn't work, or if you follow my initial advice, you're going to need to identify the image where the failure occurs. You may have a corrupt image file, and replacing it from your backup may be sufficient to resolve the problem. Alternatively, it may be a corrupt record in the catalogue, and in this case it may be sufficient to remove the image from the catalogue and import it again. You might try selecting everything in the 2014 catalogue and seeing if you can do an Export as Catalog, creating a clean 2014, and deleting 2014's previews folder might also get rid of a potential problem. Something else is to try the Export as Catalog for images 1-40000, then a second Export as Catalog for images 40002-50k.
So a few things you'll need to try, rather than a magic bullet, and a recommendation to change the underlying direction.

Unknown error when trying to log into Itunes

I just got Windows 8 and i installed Itunes on it, however when i go to log in to my account it keeps stating unknown error. and it wont allow me to log into.. however when i go on my laptop i have no issue. and it runs Windows 7, What should i do?

Have a em that I just can't find an answer to online so hopefully someone can help. the story so far,
New Windows 8 laptop, everything installed and working well, 3 days later it would not boot so had to do a system refresh, after having to then reinstall ALL myprograms again it was all working except for iTunes (which was working before the refresh).
I plug either the iPhone 5 or iPad 4 initunes detects and tries to connect, after about 5 mins I get the following error;
"iTunes was unable to load class information from Sync Services. Recconnect or try again later".
I click OK then click on my device in the top right and again after 5-10 it displays the normal front end screen. I then click on sync (bottom right)and I get the "waiting for sync to start" top middle as per normal. After another 5-10 mins t hangs at syncing 3 of 6 and I get the following message;
"iTunes could not back up the iPad ******** because a session could not be started with the iPad"
I think it has something to do with the refresh and had I know trefresh in Windows 8 was basically a reinstall of windows then I would have done a factory reinstall and started afresh.
Everything is running the latest IOS, and I have searched both messages on line and tried most of the answers tha others have had but still the problem. I can see all the Apps, Music etc in iTunes but it looks like it will not back up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated asmy last option will be to do a factory reset.

I recently bought the new iPod touch 4th gen. At first I didn't realise all my music was on it but now my music folder has been set correctly, I start to sync the music and then it gets about 200 tracks in of 700, an error message came up saying iTunes couldn't sync to the device properly due to an error. Now I have no music on it at all, even though the space indicator says there is 5.1gb of music on there. Any suggestions? I'm running windows vista, iTunes 10 and don't want to take it back to the shop

Does your device have a full charge? Often if you give it a full charge, that will fix the problem
If that doesn't work, plug it into itunes and run any updates that may be available.
Let me know if we are still broken after this.

Try my script FindTracks. Select a few of the missing files to start with then run the script. Choose No at the first prompt so that you can check how it works track by track, then confirm or edit the location of the media folder where your files are. Once you are happy with how it behaves let it process larger numbers of tracks automatically.
