Unmappable or stealth port when using Transmission bit torrent

I'm running transmission bit torrent on my mac right now and I'm getting really slow connections, if any at all.
I have gone through the port forwarding procedure and it didn't seem to help
Here is what happens
I open Transmission and check the advanced preferences, and it says the port is open and successfully mapped. Then, anywhere from 5 minutes onward of the program running the port goes stealth and sometimes is not mappable.
Help?

So, you've opened the ports, both TCP and UDP on your Powerbook mac firewall (you have to define an entry to do that on the sharing/firewall preference pane), you don't have 'stop UDP' checked on the sharing/firewall/advance tab, you've defined the same port range on your wireless router in the gaming or port forwarding section, again indicating 'both' instead of just TCP ... correct on those?
If yes on those steps, have you tried another program besides Transmission? Bittorent is one option at http://download.bittorrent.com/dl/ (stick with one of the early 4.1.n OS X releases, as release 5 is banned on some sites). Or Bits on Wheels at http://www.bitsonwheels.com/ is another that works on OS X.

  • Port forwarding using Transmission & Mac Pro

    I do a lot of film editing for various clients and make my work available to a host of individuals via torrents using Transmission 2.84.  Some complain my client (Transmission) is not connectable and they are not able to directly connect.
    To fix this problem I'm told I need to perform port forwarding but I am lost as how to do so.
    I'm on a Mac Pro with built-in Airport Extreme using Yosemite.  Some advice has been to open System prefs > Security >> Firewall and make sure "Set access for specific services and applications" is selected then click the + button and select Transmission from my Applications folder then make sure the pull down menus is set to "Allow incoming connections".
    The problem here is that I find nothing under Firewall offering the "Set access...", just the option to turn on/off Firewall.  I turned it off but still no success.
    How exactly (step by step would be helpful) do I set up port forwarding using the above machine and torrent application?

    I do have exactly 1 computer.  The computer came with an internal AirPort Extreme card.  The machine is sharing a self-assigned IP address to provide an internal WiFi connection with an HP Printer.
    Inserting the IP address takes me to a Comcast Business Gateway screen asking for User Name and Password.
    Looking up Name/Password for AirPort Extreme models I get this:

    Guys,
    I am trying out a simple message routing scenario. I have created a send pipeline and have used the MIME/SMIME component in the encoding stage of the pipeline. My application has a receive and a send port with receive port configured to receive *.xml documents
    and is using XMLReceive pipeline. My send port uses the pipeline I have explained above and contains a filter to BTS.ReceivePortName=="[receive port in the application]". The send port is also configured to use a certificate. The send handler is the 64-bit
    BizTalk host. When I drop a message in the receive port, message in the send port gets suspended with error "Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {254B4003-2AA7-4C82-BB2E-18BA7F22DCD2} failed due to the following error: 80040154
    Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

    Could you please give me a solution to the following:
    Laptop  HP Pavillion dv7-3112sa  Windows 7
    Printer  HP Photosmart B209
    Wireless connection Netgear DGND 3300 v2
    When I use internet explorer 64 bit and try to print, I get a message "Scripting Error" and it will not print.
    This is OK on 32 bit.
    I cannot update my HP software because I lose wireless communications altogether and have to do a restore to get it to work again.

    Scripting errors are related to how the website behaves with a browser.
    In this case, it is printing script that is having an issue and it appears to be with the 64bit Internet Explorer since it works fine with Internet Explorer 32bit.

    64bit web browsing is still a very small portion of web sites and very few fully support the 64bit browsing experience.  I highly recommend using a 32bit web browser for viewing websites as this will give you the best compatibility as every website still supports 32bit browsing, but not all sites are fully compatible with 64bit browsers.

  • Getting #3121 error when using 32 bit. ODBC  Drivers

    I am tring to connect to a Oracle 7.3 remote database,using MS Access97.MS Access97 usues ODBC 32Bit data source. I have downloaded the ODBC 32 bit drivers from the Oracle site, but When I try to connect I keep getting the 3121 error. It sais:
    "No Interface Driver Connected - Fonction Not Performed (#3121)
    (Microsoft)ODBC Driver Manager Driver's SQLSeConnectAttr Failed (0) My SLQ*NET is a 16 Bit. Do I need to get a 32 bit SQL*NET ?
    If SO, where do I find it ?
    the only ODBC source are the 16 bit sources witch are not compatible with MS Access 97. The error messages tells me to install SQL*NET Easy Config version 32 Bit. I have the 16 bit version and it works ok with the 16 bit applications, but with Access97, it needs 32 bit SQL*NET Easy , Where do I find this ?

  • Access MP motherboard SATA ports when using Apple RAID card

    I asked this question in another topic and thought I'd have better luck in a separate topic.
    I will soon be the proud owner of an early 2008 3.2 G Mac Pro with the Apple RAID card. I have been given a lot of great advice by the regulars to this topic area who gave me an idea that I wanted to confirm would work.
    Since the internal HDs are connected through the RAID card, that leaves the iPass connector free to connect 4 more SATA drives to the motherboard. The suggestion was made to use an iPass to 4 x SATA cable to gain access. But where to attach and mount the drives? If not the optical bay, the only alternative is outboard, but what to do with the cable? I also learned here that there are two more SATA ports on the motherboard, and Newer Technology makes a cable that attaches to both and mounts in an empty PCI slot hole. Very neat.
    So why not combine the two? I am not certain, but it appears that the connector genders are such that you could combine an iPass to 3 x SATA cable attached to the motherboard to a pair of the Newer Tech cables, then mount them to the PCI doors enabling the user to attach 4 more SATA drives with suitable for another RAID, boot Camp or whatever. Does this seem a reasonable solution? Would love some feedcak on this. Thanks.

    It is not uncommon to have trouble installing, cloning, or booting from a PCIe card - though the Sonnet Tempo Pro SSD is one of the reliable ones, still, you should install the OS first on SATA II normally, then move the SSD to its new home.
    The fact the SSD works on the ODD port - have you asked or looked for firmware update or anything from Sonnet and what they have to say?
    With three PCIe cards to contend with, they may interact - not unheard of - and the USB3 may need drivers first to work?

    Is there a way to tell the compiler that a pointer will be 64 bits when compiling in 32 bit mode, like with a pragma of somesort? On Alpha, OpenVMS, there is a way to do it, just wondering if this existed on forte/unix.

    There are no 64-bit pointers in 32-bit Solaris, and the process address space is limited to 32 bits.
    The supported hardware (SPARC, x86, Opteron) does not provide 64-bit pointers in 32-bit mode. (That is, you cannot dereference a 64-bit value in 32-bit mode.)
    Sun compilers therefore do not provide a way to create a 64-bit pointer in 32-bit mode.

  • Library shows wrong ports when using external MIDI

    Whenever I start a new project and choose an external midi track the library displays the wrong ports. I have an Axiom 25, Motif XS6, and a Kurzweil through an Ultralite. The Axiom and Ultralite show correctly but the MOTIF (which has 3 ports) are all under the Axiom Port 1 listing. Any ideas on how to reset the library so it displays the correct ports.

    I found the answer: The Axiom was listed in the default evnironment. when clicking on one of the wayward axioms that appeared in the library it actually produced the right port in the midi track. Then looking at the environment I found that it had produced another axiom with the yamaha port. By clicking on all four axioms in the library I was able to go to the environment and change the name to the proper Yamaha port. They then appeared in the library correctly.
    The secret was setting up the environment correctly.

  • Wrong default button in alerts when using 64-bit JRE on Windows

    I'm facing a strange problem.
    My environment:
    Server:
    OAS 10.1.2.2.0 on Linux Suse (32-bit)
    Client:
    IE8 64-bit on Windows XP 64-bit and Java 1.6.0_18 also 64-bit
    When I run a form that opens an alert-window with a default-button (button that has the focus), it sometimes happens, that not the default-button, but another button is activated by default.
    I have to repeat:
    It only happens sometimes and is hard to reproduce. Within 50 attempts it may happen 5 times or just 1 time.
    I never saw that happening with 32-bit JVM.
    Anyone else seeing this?

    Ok... here is what I see:
    1. Create a form with an alert and set button 2 as the default
    2. Run the form and display the alert. Button 2 has focus (proven by the bold solid line (shadow) and dotted line that surround the button)
    3. Open any other app (Notepad, Explorer, etc) and move focus to that app
    4. Slide this other app out of the way so that you can see the running form under it.
    5. While the other app has current focus, the buttons on the form's alert appear to lose focus (this is expected). However, now button 1 has a bold line (shadow) surrounding it. This gives the appearance that button 1 has focus.
    6. Click on the alert box to move focus back to the form. Do not click on the alert buttons.
    7. Focus lines are now redrawn on the correct button (button 2).
    This is probably not the best behavior, but certainly not something that I would call an area of concern. If what I described here is what you are seeing and you feel that this is a significant issue, I would recommend filing a Service Request with Support (assuming you have a support contract) and request that a bug/defect is filed. You will need to provide a test case and I would recommend that you provide screen shots or a video of what you are seeing. If you have not already applied all the previously mentioned patches, I would not recommend contacting Support until you do so, as this will be the first thing they require you completed anyway.

  • Windows 7 64 bit.. When using 32 bit HDR can not use Adj panel

    I can bring 3 photos into HDR , brings up preview then I go to Adjust photo in 32 bit and the Adjustment panel is deemed. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks

  • Cisco 2432-24FXS Calls won't ring FXS ports when placed in Huntgroup

    Hi,
    I am having an issue getting calls to ring through on the FXS ports when using the "trunkgroup" command under the POTS dial-peers. Calls will ring through fine if I use the "port" command under the pots dial-peer. What I am trying to accomplish is getting a single number to hunt through 13 FXS ports in a round-robin fashion. With the below setup I am getting a SIP 404 not found message in the SIP debug info. I am not sure if I am missing something here or what the deal is. If the below information is not enough I would be happy to provide additional info. Any idea's why this configuration doesn't seam to work?

  • "Port In Use" error message when trying to sync Palm m500 to Windows Vista machine

    An error message on my Palm displays "Error: Serial Port in Use (Serial 0307)" when I try to sync my Palm m500 to my Windows Vista (32 bit) Home Basic machine. It worked until about 3 months ago and I don't have a restore point that far back to try System Restore. I've upgraded to Palm Desktop 6.2.2 (was using 4.xx) and downloaded the PalmHotSyncSetup from Pimlico Software but nothing helps. Any ideas are appreciated.

    I would try connecting the Palm's cradle, with the Palm in it, to your PC and then, in Device Manager, right-clicking on Palm Handheld #2 and selecting Uninstall Driver.  Palm Handheld/Palm Handheld #1 could be visible if you connect the Palm to USB port you may have tried using perviously.
    After uninstalling Palm Desktop, reboot the PC, make sure Palm Desktop 6.2.2 is installed (since you are using Vista) and then try reconnecting the Palm.
    One last thing: Make sure that you are using a 32-bit version of Windows.  There is no 64-bit USB driver support from Palm or ACCESS.  If you do have a 64-bit version of Windows Vista installed, that would clearly explain why you are having so much trouble getting your m500-series PDA to sync. This thread tells you how to check for a 32 or 64-bit install of Windows.

    Hi,
    we've a annoying JDBC connection problem since we migrated our Java server to a 64 bit operating system. Here our environment.
    Database Machine:
    Oracle 10g
    Linux 32 Bit (but same problem on 64 Bit)
    Application Servers Machine:
    JDBC driver 11.1.0.6
    SUN Java 1.6.0_06 64bit
    Linux 64 bit (SLES 10 SP2)
    We have 6 different Java server processes (but with the same code) which all create some connections to the same database (running on a different Hardware). All 6 Java server processes starting at the same time (via scripts).
    Everything was fine, until we migrated the application server machine from 32 bit Linux to 64 bit Linux. From this day on, the half (or one more or less) of our application server processes can't longer connect to the database. The application server processes which have the problem product the following stack trace:

    It looks like a network problem with the system but all other network stuff works without problems, between the two machines.
    - We use the thin JDBC driver (no OCI)
    - No firewalls are active on both systems
    - Both systems are in the same subnet connected to the same switch
    - The DNS configuration on both systems are ok (forward and reverse)
    - We've found the same problem on different application-server/database-server pairs with 64 bit application server hardware - but not all of our 64 bit server systems have this problem.
    - When running application server process and database on the same system (connecting via localhost) the problem does not longer appear.
    - The same database machine connected from a 32 bit application server (with 6 different java processes starting at the same time) works without a problem.
    We've tried a lot of things to isolate the problem - but with no success.
    - Same problem with SUN Java 1.6.0_06 32 bit (on 64 bit Linux)
    - Same problem with SUN Java 1.6.0_15 (32 and 64 bit)
    - Played with some JDBC connection properties (oracle.jdbc.TcpNoDelay, oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout, oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT, oracle.net.disableOob, oracle.jdbc.RetainV9LongBindBehavior, oracle.jdbc.StreamChunkSize) without a positive result.
    - We've updated Linux network driver
    - We've changed to an completeky other NIC
    - We've tried an other Linux 64 distribution
    - We've increased the PROCESSES parameter in the init.ora
    - We've tried the JDBC driver 11.1.0.6
    - We've tried the _g version of the JDBC driver, but the debugging output simply tell us "Connection Reset" without a hint why.

    - this only occures on 64 bit Linux
    - independent if it's a 32 bit or 64 bit JVM
    - does not occure on all 64 bit application server machines / database machine pairs
    - never occure on the same 64 bit app server hardware when using a 32 bit Linux
    - using the Oracle JDBC 10g driver (10.xxx) there is no problem (but because of other issues, we need to use the JDBC 11g driver)
    Does anybody has an idea what our problem is?

    I was recently struggling with this exact same problem. I opened a ticket with Oracle and this is what they told me.
    java.security.SecureRandom is a standard API provided by sun. Among various methods offered by this class void
    nextBytes(byte[])
    is one. This method is used for generating random bytes. Oracle 11g JDBC drivers use this API to generate random number during
    login. Users using Linux have been encountering SQLException("Io exception: Connection
    reset").
    The problem is two fold
    1. The JVM tries to list all the files in the /tmp (or alternate tmp directory set by -Djava.io.tmpdir) when
    SecureRandom.nextBytes(byte[]) is invoked. If the number of files is large the
