  • Unread Emails in Outlook 2010 Clients shows both UNREAD AND READ emails when connected to Exchange 2013 Server SP1

We recently upgraded to Exchange 2013 SP1 with a client user-base of Office 2010 Professional Plus / Outlook 2010 SP3.
All Unread Email favorites folders show both Unread and Read emails, just like the inbox. Removal of the folder and recreating yields the same results, as does creating a custom folder. However, in Outlook 2013 there is no problem.
Is there a patch or hot fix for this issue? Or does anyone know how to fix this issue so that the UNREAD EMAILS SHOW UP IN THE UNREAD FOLDER AND NOT INCLUDE THE READ EMAILS?
    Thank you!

  • TS3899 My mail account shows 1340 unread emails, yet the inbox is empty with no subfolders.

My "Mail" app shows that I have 1340 unread emails in red.  When I go to the inbox, it says 1340 unread emails, yet there is none in the inbox.  I have checked my mail provider adn there is no emails there either.

First if you have multiple inboxes please make sure that you're looking at the all inboxes category. If this is correct then try removing the account and adding it back. If no joy
    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.

  • My phone is showing one unread email though my inbox is completely empty.  So annoying, please help!!

It is gmail in case you need to know that.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • Unread email from all folders

    Hello,
I use Thunderbird as my email client at home and at work. At work I have rules that moves emails to its proper folders based on the email address or subject.
Im trying to find a way on how to view ALL unread emails, from the Inbox and other folders as well.
Right now the only way i found to do it is to do by each folder. which is unpractical.
In Outlook you can set up a "search" folder that shows All the unread emails, including the emails from different folders.
Any help will be appreciated it.
    Thank you in advance.

This used to be called the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Global_Inbox Global Inbox], you can enable this under '''View > Folders > Unified'''. The link I mention also provides other details & alternatives to achieve similar functionality.

  • UWL notification mail to Outlook inbox-How?

    Hi,
We have a requirement to send all UWL notification emails to Outlook Inbox of the users.
Is it sufficient to make the appropriate settings in
    Syst admin>Syst Config>UWL>workflow>Mail
Are any other settings required?(Groupware transports, system creation etc)
    Thanks

P.S:Will reward points for helpful answers.

Thanks for your very useful contributions.
I have been able to use the program RSWUWFML2 to perform the task. I would like to know two things:
    1. I see this only is valid maybe for the time you are logged in. For it to work, you have to run it again when you log in again. Correct? How then do you make it so that it is always active?
    2. If it sends the mail to the outlook inbox of the approver, can I customise it so that it sends to another approver in the next level if the first one does not approve in the first 2 days?

  • Groupwise client is reporting 1 unread email when all are read

    Hi Folks,
I have a rather strange problem that I'm hoping to find a solution to. I
have one user who's client is reporting that there is an unread email in
her inbox when all have been read. In fact, she has either deleted or
moved all mail out of her inbox to either a cabinet directory or an
archive. I had her log in at another workstation and the issue followed
her. I have run both an analyze/fix with all the options checked, and a
structural rebuild on her user database, and found no problems.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kris

Do an "Advanced Find" with filter options "Item Status" "does not include"
    "Read".
Now you should see any unread Item. If it's only one Item, it must be this
one you see in the Home View. Just delete it or move it to another Folder.

  • Is there a workaround to an ISP's unread email retention policy?

My ISP (Cox) has a policy where any unread email in the inbox is deleted after 60 days.  This doesn't make a lot of sense to me since they will indefinitely retain any "read" email or any unread email transferred to a folder outside of the inbox.
This wasn't a problem when I was using POP to access my email since all messages were downloaded to my computer and it didn't matter if the email was eventually removed from the server.  I would like to switch over to IMAP access now that Cox is offering it as an option.  Since an IMAP account essentially reflects what is on the server, automatic deletion of messages by the ISP is now a problem.
The only way I can avoid these deletions is to mark the message as read before it reaches the 60 day threshold, or move it from the inbox.  There doesn't seem to be a automatic way to have Mail do this.  I can create a rule, but I would need to manually apply the rule on a daily basis since rules automatically run only on new messages.  I suspect there is a way to do this using Applescript, but I am not experienced using it.
Keeping Unread messages has some importance to me.  The Preview pane in Mail often gives me enough info to understand the response in a message without reading it.  I also do web development work where I need to monitor system generated emails and it is useful to have access to historical emails to debug email issues - I shouldn't have to read each one in order to make sure it isn't deleted.
This is really an ISP issue and not a Mail issue, although it would be great if the Mail Rules feature could be applied to previously received emails automatically.  If any of you out there have figured out a way to work around this kind of issue, it would like to hear about t.

I am trying to avoid having to perform a daily manual process (I monitor about a dozen email accounts - not all of them from ISP's with the 60 day deletion window).  The ISP's 60 day deletion window is rolling - each day different existing messages are about to reach the threshold.  I don't want to mark messages as Read for all messages, just those that are about to be 60 days old.  I know that I can do this by creating a smart mailbox that only has messages that are 59 days old, select all of the smart mailbox messages and then right-click and "Mark as Read", but this would have to be a daily, manual process.

  • I'm unable to get the mail web app to display less than 6 unread emails on the badge and yet I have no unread emails. Please advise.

    Help!

Try going to icloud.com from your computer, opening Mail and ensuring that you don't have any unread emails in your inbox or in any of your folders.  If not, try going to Settings>Notifications>Mail and turn Badge App Icon to Off. (If you have multiple email accounts, tap each account separately then turn Badge App Icon to Off.)  Then force-close the Mail app: from the home screen, double-tap the home button, locate Mail in the list at the bottom, tap and hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, then tap the home button again.  Next, go back to Settings>Notifications>Mail and turn Badge App Icon back to On.  The reopen Mail and see if it's cleared now.

  • Deleted emails reappear in inbox on iPad and iPhone even in airplane mode

Whenever I delete either read or unread emails from my inbox on both iPad and iPhone 4 they re-appear in the inbox between 30 seconds and 1 minute later. I've seen other posts suggesting this might be due to the fact that I'm leaving my mails on the server so I switched my iPad to Airplane mode so that it couldn't check the server, I then deleted an email and sure enough 30 secs later it re-appeared.
    Does anybody have a fix?

    ok.

  • Exchange Online : Unread Email Count

I'm looking to get an export of the number of unread emails in the inboxes of several users. We will use this to bring to the attention of those users that they need to keep up with their email better than they already are, based on the number returned.
I have yet to find a viable solution for this.

The only way I can think of is to run some sort of an EWS based script against those mailboxes. Check here for example:

  • Outlook 2013 - Inbox not showing count of unread emails

Ever since moving to Outlook 2013, some of our users are experiencing issues where their inbox does not show the count of unread emails. These user's are working in cached exchange mode. Taking them out of cached exchange mode, deleting OST file and then
putting back in cached exchange mode usually resolves the issue. However, this is only temporary and the problem comes back. We are running Exchange 2010.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue for good?
    Thanks.

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, to solve the problem of Outlook 2013, please follow these steps: -
I was also having the same problem. At the top of the
Inbox, I clicked “Unread” (which is new to
Outlook 2013, and different than the Unread, Mail search folder). It showed a message, something like,
“there are more items on the server”, and gave me a link to view the items. When I clicked the link, no items appeared, but my unread mail indicator on my
    Inbox went away.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Outlook 2013 folders not showing unread email count for incoming emails

When a new email comes in, it would show up in its folder in bold, indicating it's unread email, which is good, but there is no blue number (unread email count) next to the folder. Outlook repair didn't help. No one else on the network has this problem.
How to fix it so when a new email comes in the unread email count would update itself?

    Hi,
Does this issue happen to all folders (including Inbox)?
Please right click on one folder, and select Properties, and make sure the "Show number of unread items" option is selected. If it is already selected, change it to "Show total number of items", click OK. Then, change it the "Show
number of unread items" again to see the result.
Please let me know the result.
