Unzip is not working

I recently upgraded to maverick. After that update, unzipping compressed files is not working. Initially the archive utility is starting and progressing when i double click the zip files, then nothing happens. Looks like a serious bug in Maverick. Any idea to resolve this issue?

Relaunch the ArchiveUtility via the terminal, copy and paste:
sudo killall -HUP appleeventsd
Try Stuffit Expander until it is sorted.

Unzip does not work if osx is integrated in active directory

We have the following problem:
Unzip of zip-files (containing folders) does not work as soon as the osx client is integrated in active directory. The zip-file is located on the windows server file share. The share is mounted over smb to the client. We try to unzip it directly on that share with osx integrated zip / unzip functionality.
If we copy the zip-file to the local file system, unzip works.
If the zip-file contains just files, unzip works.
Under osx 10.8 unzip works. The problem occurs if we use 10.9 or higher.
There is no entry in the system log file.
If we try it with a 3rd party tool (stuffit expander), it works.
Deactivating of all of the domain policies does not solve the problem.
The problem occurs also if we mount the share with domain admin credentials. So there is not a problem with user rights.

I have found the correct answer! After hours of research and chat with Verizon, I know it is operating correctly. Here is why:
If I have WIFI on, Verizon appllications can not be downloaded. So, if you are in the Verizon apps section for programs preloaded on your screen or any applications through Verizon, you can only download using 3G or 4G. If you have WIFI on, you must shut it down to use 3G & 4G networking of Verizon.
Any other downloads, not through Verizon, will download over WIFI. Even though the icons for 3G & 4G are visible when WIFI is active, they are disabled. My problem was reinstalling all the applications originally installed on the phone. To do that, WIFI must be shut down.
So the phone is working properly. I did find someone with Verizon who filled me in on this information. Thanks everyone for your help.

I'm don't think this is even anything new, I seem to recall similar links being bad going back several years (and pointing it out to no effect, and I think I've had to unzip things on Windows for unix...). I see on my hp-ux there is an unzip at $ORACLE_HOME/bin (for 10.2.0.x), but of course, you have to get there. I'd be curious if the one in the XE download would work on other windows machines ($ORACLE_HOME/bin/unzip.exe). My guess has been there are enough workable unzips and pkunzips floating about that no one has bothered to fix the link.

Step 4. Unzip the file to your desktop if you do not know how to unzip a file you can google it. Or you can download a free app called winzip or winrar are well known apps.
After you have unzipped the file you should be left with a folder called "fp_15.0.0.152_archive" open the folder and find the folder named "15_0_r0_152" ignore the folder that says debug on it.
When you are insde the "15_0_r0_152" folder double click the file flashplayer15_0r0_152_win.exe it will be the red box there will be 3 red box icons its the top one you want to install.
After you complete this action you have the choices to let adobe automatically update your flash player we recommend you say no to this then click finish. Now restart your pc and log into SL and it should be working 100% again.
Notes:
15.0.0.152 is the latest working version of Adobe Flash Player that we know of atm if there is a new version out please let us know.
You may update your flash player and see if it is working on the latest version we recommend you check each month at least one time to see if they have done updates to the software.
If it breaks again you will need to follow these steps again until they fix there code. Some times they fix the code by the next update some times they take a month or more just depends on the people at adobe that are releasing these bad versions of Flash.

So i am wondering can some one pass this to a tech person to fix the current code what ever was in 15_0_r0_152 and before worked great now it don't work at all this is not some noob talking this has been tested on over 80+ different computers if not more 80 or more people have contacted me alone on the issue as i know it is one and to be honest i am getting sick of waiting on adobe to fix there code so please send this to the right department to see if they can fix there code and not let it fall on deaf ears. Or give me the exact reason why the new code does not work but the old code does work and i will see if i can fix it but i would rather it be fixed by Adobe as there are many people that want it fixed thank you.

OBIEE set up.exe not working

Hi,
I am trying to install OBIEE on my windows 2008 server Virtual machine. I have the BI zip files (Unzipped into one folder ) on my external hard drive. When I try to access the file and run the setup.exe on my virtual machine it is not working. The command prompt shows up and then the command prompt disappears and nothing happens.
No error message is displayed. Any idea whats happening? and how can this rectified?

Moving Tool not working in Photoshop Elements 12 in Yosemite

Hello, my moving tool for Photoshop 12 in Yosemite is not working. When I drag an object in the layer, it keeps snapping back to the center. I've tried closing other programs, rebooting, different files, made a new file, made new layers, nothing.
The only thing that works to free up the moving tool is using Command T. I see the bar with align center etc. which works but it won't let me free move the position with the move tool.
Is this a glitch? Is something configured wrong? Any advice would be appreciated.

We sincerely apologize for the problem customers are facing while using a trackpad with Photoshop Elements 11 & 12 on Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).
We have been actively working with Apple to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. We're hopeful this will get completely resolved in an upcoming update of Yosemite(MAC 10.10).
In the meanwhile, you have two options to work around this problem:
1. Option1: Use a mouse instead of the trackpad
2. Option2: Install a plug-in which should workaround the problem
Plug-in installation instructions:
1. Close Photoshop Elements
2. Download this zip file to a location you can easily find (e.g. your desktop)
3. Unzip the file, WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin, and move it to the Plug-In folder:
• For Elements 12 – //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 12/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
• For Elements 11 - //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 11/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
You can verify the plug-in is installed by launching the Photoshop Elements Editor and choosing Help > System Info... Scroll to the bottom of the text in the dialog and look for the plug-in name "WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin".
Note: This plugin is a temporary workaround and should be used until this issue is addressed in Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite). Please remove this plugin once the issue is officially resolved by Apple.
If you are using a stylus in conjunction with a trackpad, you might see issues with your trackpad. Workaround in this particular case is to use mouse instead of the trackpad.

HP Pavilion DV5000 : Conexant Audio HD sound not working after upgrade XP to Windows 7

On HP support site there are no drivers for Windows 7 for Conexant Audio HD soundcard in HP Pavilion DV5000.
Have tried installing Vista drivers in stead, does not work.
Have tried renaming unzipped Vista files to camcaud.sys & camchal.sys and copied them into Windows/System32/Drivers and reboot, does not work.This is the only solution I found after reading forums for several hours, but does not work.
Would very much appreciate help.

Hello,
i am using {@inheritDoc} for inherting super class's JavaDoc for a perticular function..
It is working, if super class is my own class. i am able to see all JavaDoc in child class.
But when i use {@inheritDoc} for extending JavaDoc of java class it is not working.
i.e. if i am writing {@inheritDoc} in public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) method..
It wont show any javadoc..
How to add it? Do i need to give source of java classes too???
And if it is Yes, then where to specifiy. and where to find source of Java classes, do they come with JDK? or NetBeans?? (If yes then where it is in JDK or Netbeans???)

Yes, you need to have the Java source, with the -sourcepath option, as described here:
Inheriting Comments from J2SE - Your code can also automatically inherit comments from interfaces and classes in the J2SE. You can do this by unzipping the src.zip file that ships with the SDK (it does not contain all source files, however), and add its path to -sourcepath. When javadoc runs on your code, it will load the doc comments from those source files as needed. Login button not working on Applicatin Express Login screen

Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade default apex version that comes with xe to apex 3.2.1. I've listed down the steps I followed to upgrade apex.
After following all the steps, I'm able to login to my application, however not able to login to apex workspace using url http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/ as the login button is not working.
Also there is no image for Application Express on the top of the page. I did try http://127.0.0.1:8080/i/ and it returns list of images.
Below are the steps I followed to upgrade apex
1. Downloaded apex_3.2.1.zip to C:\Software
2. unzip apex_3.2.1.zip to C:\Software\apex
3. started command prompt and set these variables
set ORACLE_HOME=C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server
set ORACLE_SID=xe
set ORACLE_PATH=C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\bin
set LD_LIBRARY_PATH=C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\lib
3.1 Shutdown the listener and job services

recently i install and configure according to steps:
1. Run create_webutil_db.sql
a. CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY webutil
b. Grant connect, resource to webutil
c. Connect webutil/webutil
d. @[ORACLE_HOME]/forms/create_webutil_db.sql
e. Create public synonym webutil_db for webutil.webutil_db;
f. Connect sys as sysdba
g. Grant execute on webutil_db to public;
2. Copy and download Jacob from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jacob-project/files/jacob-project/1.14.3/jacob-1.14.3.zip/download
a. Unzip the jacob download and place jacob.jar in the
ORACLE_HOME/forms/java directory
b. backup sign_webuitl.bat script in [ORACLE_INSTANCE]/bin/sign_webutil.sh
c. search for <Your KEYSTORE password> and replace it with welcome1 (or
something like this)
d. search for <Your private key password> and replace it with welcome1 (or
something like this)
e. Save the script and use it to sign jacob.jar as below
f. [ORACLE_INSTANCE]/bin/sign_webutil.sh
[ORACLE_HOME]/forms/java/jacob.jar
3. Place jacob.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/ directory

b. FORMS_PATH variable and make sure webutil.pll folder is available in the
path or run the above command from command shell in the folder where webutil.pll
is available
13. Restart opmnctl and wls_forms weblogic instance
14. Run the webutil

There are a few things you did not mention or were unclear about.
1. Exactly which Forms version are you using? In order to do what you described, you should be using 11.1.2.x. Forms 11.1.1 or older will not work using the instructions you referred to.
2. I assume you just copied and pasted the instructions in your post because you included steps like this: "+ 3. Place jacob.dll in the ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/ directory+ ". If you downloaded the correct Jacob, you won't have a jacob.dll file.
3. You said, " +b. FORMS_PATH variable and make sure webutil.pll folder is available + ". At runtime, FORMS_PATH will need access to webutil.plx and webutil_demo.fmx. The pll and fmb are for design time only. In the past, we permitted the use of ungenerated libraries (pll) at runtime, but this is no longer the case. You should always use the "X" file.
4. You did not mention any of the client information. OS, browser and version, JRE and version, etc. If the client OS is 64bit and you are running Forms 11.1.2, you have the option of using either the 32bit or 64bit Internet Explorer versions. However, you must have a matching JRE. In other words, if you are using 32bit IE, you must also use the 32bit JRE. For 64bit IE you must use the 64bit JRE.
5. If you are attempting to use Java 7 on the client, you must be running Forms 11.1.2.1.
6. Someone asked if you compiled webutil.plx. Did you do this before or after you generated the form (webutil_demo.fmx)? If you generated the form before the library, I would recommend regenerating the form. Again, be sure to include the compile_all=yes option.

JavaFX 2.1 build b09 on Mac OS X not working?!

I have downloaded JavaFX 2.1 build b09 and the samples for Mac OS X (10.7.2 / Apple Java 1.6.0_29-b11-402-11M3527 64-Bit).
I unpacked the folder "javafx-sdk2.1.0-beta" in my home and the "javafx-samples-2.1.0-beta" in the "javafx-sdk2.1.0-beta"
folder. Double clicking "BrickBreaker.jar", "Ensemble.jar" and "FXML-LoginDemo.jar" do not start any application. But instead a
a few (-10) seconds after the java icon in the dock appears the "java" process crashes.
The "SwingInterop.jar" sample and other swing applications like netbeans run as usual.

Is there a certain way to install the javafx 2.1 runtime?There is an installer for Windows, but not for the Mac or Linux distributions yet - for those you currently just unzip the distributions.
There is a feature request for an installer for Mac (http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-18147), but from the comments it is unclear whether an installer will be implemented or not.
On Windows, after you have installed JavaFX you can just run the sample jars by double clicking on them because the launcher in the samples knows how to check to find the installed location of the JavaFX runtime.
Why would they provide sample jar files for Mac if they will not work. For Mac, as there was no install, you probably need to run them using java -cp <path to jfxrt.jar> <samplename>.jar, so that the system knows where it can find the javafx runtime. However I don't have a Mac to test this. So, perhaps somebody who has a Mac can post how they run the JavaFX samples on this thread.

Jrockit 1.5.0 not working in mandrake 2005 AMD64 kernel 2.6

i tried to install
jrockit-jdk1.5.0-linux-em64t.tar.gz on a
Mandrake 2005 limited edition AMD64 .
The processor was Athlon 3000+ RAM 512MB.
The Kernel was 2.6
Then i tried to run the java command and no response. the command line just hangs or sit there without any message.
I unzip and untarred the file then set it path. a which java correctly points to jrocket-jdk1.5.0/bin folder. and the JAVA_HOME is set .
i am trying to mate a goat and a dog here or is there some config i can do to get jrockit linux 64bit on a Mandrake 2005 2.6 kernel

I assume you are trying the Tech Preview for Suse ES 9.0. Please check kernel & glibc compatibility at:

Unfortunately, this release does not work well on other configurations. We are working on expanding support for Intel EM64T/AMD64, but are encountering kernel-level issues in current Linux releases. I've downloaded 'The Unarchiver' and that will unzip fine. it seems to be an issue with apples 'Archive Utility' over network I suppose?
